Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with Xtrons PQ89UNVIP – MTCE PX6 unit running on Android 9 and Hal9k Mod V4 with all OTA-Updates in a Golf Mk6.
Earlier, this unit occasionally had some difficulties connecting to the hotspot from any phone (tested with various devices) shortly after starting the car, especially during hot weather. Usually a reboot helped and after that it connected to my hotspot normally. I complained to Xtrons about it and got a new wi-fi antenna from them, but swapping it didn't solve my problem. Not feeling like sending the whole device back, I decided to accept it and live with it, as it was not a big problem for me because it occurred quite rarely.
However, a few days ago the issue escalated, the head unit does not want to connect to the hotspot from my phone at all. It sees the device's network, makes an attempt to connect to it, but it fails. At first glance it looks exactly the same as the problem I had before (continuous Connecting -> Saved, see the video below), except that a reboot doesn't help, the weather/temperature doesn't matter, and it connects normally to hotspots from other phones. I also tried to do it in Safe mode.
My phone is a 3-week-old OnePlus Nord 2 5G with Android 11. Until the last few days, the hotspot worked perfectly. I tried changing the name and password of the hotspot, resetted network settings completely on both devices, tried both 2,4 and 5 GHz band and various other options. Once shortly after renaming the hotspot, it was able to connect to it, but a few seconds later the connection was dropped. Other devices can normally connect to the hotspot from my phone.
Video showing the issue:
Before I restore the device to factory settings and have to install and set everything up again (which doesn't guarantee me a solution either), I would like to know if anyone has an idea what else I could do to fix this.
I would be very grateful for any willingness to help, I am desperate because this unit without internet connection loses most of its functions I used
Greetings,
Bansuj

Thanks for the tip. But it seems that pressing the RES button has the same function as Restart (reboot) option from the screen menu I have used so far:

UPDATE (3-8-17) - I ran the app again today and a window popped up saying there was an update available. It downloaded, I updated (and the update actually worked this time) and now it works!
My MTCD-KD 5.1.1 head unit came with the Easyconnect app. I connect my phone to the unit via usb, the app recognizes my phone, my phone has usb debugging running and I click OK in the dialog box when it connects, my phone's screen immediately goes to Car Mode, but the app fails at "Step #2 - Install MOB interconnection service".

I read somewhere on these forums that the app needs to be updated to work with 5.1.1. I downloaded the new apk file from one of these forums and I had the vendor that sold me the head unit send me the newest version as well. Both these apk files fail immediately when I try to install them.
Am I missing something? I am still running everything stock since I just installed the head unit in my car a few days ago and I am still feeling it out before I try to customize it. Also, what the heck does MOB stand for?
Did update the HU to latest version?
If yes, did you turn on that option which allows apps to be installed from unknown source in the settings?
And lastly, there is the same setting for unknown source app installation in the factory settings as well, try turning on that too.

I knew it had to be something kind of obvious. So what exactly is the MOB Interconnection Service that fails to install? If I could get that to work I will be in business!
And yes, I installed the newest MCU version hoping that was the issue, but it didn't change anything.

No idea. Mine didn't ask. It downloaded a license and then automatically downloaded a license. It installs the package to your phone via ADB. Did you have Adb turned on? You should get a box asking you to allow the device to connect and you just say OK. It uses ADB to install the client end. There is no activation code that I know of. What kind of phone?

Had similar issue with my phone (Motorola Z Force, USB C). First off it wouldn't connect with my HU at all. Then I tried a shorter cord (3ft rather than 6ft), now it would connect and work for about 5-10 seconds before disconnecting. Then I tried a 1ft USB C cord, and it works perfectly.
Read about a similar issue with Pioneer HUs and some USB C cords not working from being too long, apparently ours do as well and my solution was to use a very short 1ft cord plugged into the female extension lead that came with the kit.
Cheers
problem solved

Hey everybody i have a problem with Easy connected in Honda connect by HRV and i have an error 0x11 its adb-ec not found not exist. Whats is this?
I experimented with this app a while ago and couldn't get it working, it would never see the phone. I eventually figured out that it had to be plugged into the bottom USB port on my unit (KGL) for it to see it. Maybe this might help someone else with connection issues.
Im running 4.4.4 i downloaded the easy connect app and installed threw the mocro sd slot. The app i keep trying looks nothing like what i keep seeing on youtube and on other forum pictures. It connected to the phone one time just enough that i could see my phones vodeos on the radio.
My wife has 7.1, app already pre-installed. 5 minutes and i had complete mirror working in both ways setup and running car launcher AG.
Every old forum post with a link to the app i download is the wrong one. Im almost to the point of upgrading to a newer head unit.

And i Tried to connect to a mobile asus zenfone 4 with Android nougat 8.0
But i have the error Message trying both connections: via usb and via hotspot + usb.
The version i have of easyconnection pro is ht03.4.3.6 updated by clicking on the ht line botto m right in the first screen of the app.
Does some one has some suggestion to helpdesk ?

Update
Hello,
Can you please tell me where the update was? On the phone or the stereo?
Hello guys!
After Nougat update, the WiFi connection stops from time to time. A exclamation mark appears on WiFi sign and internet is not working. If i reconnect everything is ok a while. I wiped, but i still have this problem. I tested on 2 different routers.
Anyone else with this? Solutions?

Have you tried assigning the phone a static IP?
See if it still drops, if not it could be having a problem with DHCP

Settings > Connections > WiFi > Long press on your wireless connection > Manage network settings > Show advanced options > Change DHCP to Static
Make sure correct IP, Gateway, DNS etc is filled in and hit save
Mine auto filled it from the previous DHCP info it already had so just have to hit save
This was a useless recommendation. There're too many people with an issue and this shouldn't be a problem. Especially when the same device and routers has no problem befor nougat and then continuous problems after update.

More like off shore tech support. At least you didn't recommend factory reset of the guys phone.
But seriously? Troubleshooting? It seems you know the meaning, but not the steps. If you build some before, after, and comparitive context to the users situation, you may have come to a different conclusion.
To the poor soul that gets here with a question burning in everyone's mind, "why me?" Go to Samsung and complain, get a new phone and viola, problem passed on. Especially if you just got it. There are a bunch of issues that you may also be unlucky to have in addition to the WiFi struggling to accept what it thinks as a weak internet connection.
Context:
I did not have any of these issues pre-Nougat;
Nothing change at home, work, and I assume the other locations either;
After the update I factory reset hoping for resolution;
Nope. Purely ignored defect from Samsung...
In addition I suffer from loudspeaker audio cutting out on YouTube videos, which is resovled if you go to a music player and play a few seconds of a song and then go back to the video. Must be the static IP need... Which even if it resolved the issue is still not a resolution! Are you going to assign static IPs everywhere you go? Common dude.
I have the exact same wifi connected, but no internet problem on AT&T S7. It connects if i toggle wifi off and on, but this is annoying

I had this problem in the past.
What I did was look up the APN settings for my phone with a specific carrier.
Then I went into settings and created a NEW APN with those exact settings.
You then have to save it, select it, and reboot your phone.
It solved my problem, which was an APN that had gotten corrupted.
Hello to all. I have a big problem with my unit's GPS signal. I have tried various firmware with Android 6 and various MCUs but always with the same result. My problem is that randomly, after hooking up the GPS signal, the signal is lost and no longer hooked. The bars in the GPS screen are not active and do not even activate with a good position. I have read about other forums on this issue, but no solution has been found. I do not think it's in the HW problem, maybe some of the SW crashes and do not recover.
Thanks for anyone who can help me.

I tried to disable two cores and lower the CPU frequency to 900Mhz with Kernel Adiutor (ROOT), I managed to get to a 60 degree centigrade temperature, believing the problem was temperature but the GPS problem reappears.

Have you checked your GPS cable? It could be (partially) broken somewhere internally. When driving it might start to swing and loose connection. Please try with the cable in your hand and make gentle bends over the cable length. See if you loose signal.

I lose connection even when the car is off and stops, without movement. It does not seem like a cable problem, I was thinking of a problem with some service on Android that randomly interfere with GPS.

I was suggested to verify that the GPS slot has 3.2 voltage.

FYI: The gps is on the SoM, not the mainboard. That means that the MCU has absolutely no relevance to it.
Is there a solution found for this? Is it really caused by the 3.2V?
Can you tell me about the fix? I have the same problem on erisin unit for e46, sometimes it works i have signal, sometimes no signal... And it stay with no signal untill the car is off for 2-3 hours, from where shoud i start?

Send it back.
Hi all, new member here, so apologies for any mistakes I make.
A friend of mine has passed on to me his Nexus 5 (2013), stating that there were a number of issues he was having with it. After using the device myself for a couple days I can confirm that the following issues are present:
- The screen will sporadically freeze and become unresponsive to any touch input, and the only way to solve this is to lock the device and unlock it again. The time between instances of this is random.
- The screen will occasionally cut to black, but the display is still active (i.e. you can only see the backlight). This happens for a number of seconds before returning to normal on it's own.
- The camera is completely unresponsive/broken (See picture 1 below). Possible loose connection?
- The WiFi is stuck on 'turning WiFi on' in the settings, and stuck at searching for networks in the notification bar(See pictures 2 & 3 below).
The device was dropped at some point in the past, but the damage is typical (See picture 4 below) and I see no immediate reason why this damage should cause these issues in particular, but I'm by no means an expert, hence why I'm here. =) The device has only been dropped one time, and has not suffered any other damage, including water damage.
My first instinct was to boot into recovery mode (where it should be noted that the freezing and display issues I mentioned above didn't occur, leading me to believe it is more of a software issue?) and clear the cache partition, which did not solve the issue, and neither did a full factory reset.
So, with all that being said, what would you guys suggest? Should I try flashing the factory image to see if that works? Rooting? Flashing a custom ROM? Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
If you require any additional information let me know and I'll happily oblige.
Thanks in advance guys!

It could be the motherboard or screen. You won't know for sure until you replace one or the other.
The wifi chips do fail on the Nexus 5. I a motherboard that also tries to turn on wifi but turns itself off after a few minutes.

My first thought was that it was a hardware issue to begin with, but due to the sporadic nature of the issues (excluding the camera obviously), and the fact that it didn't happen whilst in the recovery menu, I'm more inclined to believe it to be a software issue? I could be wrong of course, I'm just wondering if it's worth flashing the factory image on to see if that solves the issue?
You may as well flash the stock image and see what happens.
The lines showing on the screen does not look like a software issue to me.

Those lines are what appear when I open the camera, they're not there otherwise. THAT is almost definitely a hardware issue, granted.
I have a Nexus 5 that has the wifi issue. I flashed a bunch of different Android versions (like Android 7 and 6.0) which none have worked. At one point I opened my Nexus 5 and left it like that for about a month, then afterwards I assembled it back together and the wifi worked for a little bit and then went back to its broken state. I've concluded that it is a hardware issue since data was working fine and was the only way I could get internet on my phone.

Hmm. I have to be be honest after looking online it appears that wifi failure is a somewhat common issue on the Nexus 5 devices. It has to be a hardware based problem it would seem.
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate your input. =)
I have an ATT branded S21+ and have an issue I am trying to solve around always keeping my mobile data on. I connect to a couple of devices around the house, in the truck, and on the boat that are "wifi" devices. (For instance, on my boat, I have a WIFI transducer that sends sonar data to my phone for depth and temperature) Problem I am having is while I am connected to these sources, which do not have internet service, my phone refuses to use mobile data. I used to be able to toggle the "mobile data always active" function in dev options to correct, but it no longer seems to function. Anyone have a workaround?
S21+, A12, One 4.1, and just to see if it would correct the problem, I recently moved over to the U1 firmware. The problem still exists, but at least I don't have the ATT bloatware anymore.
go to settings > software information > tap Build number 7x or 10x idk...
Go back to Settings > scroll down and find Developer Options > search Mobile Data Always Active
That's what I was saying in the title of the post. The Dev Option is checked on, but it does not do anything and mobile data is not connected simultaneously. In past firmware (pre A12), when you toggle that on, the "5G" symbol shows up in between the Wifi and Signal Strength meter.
Nobody has run into this?
I have the same problem. Found settings under connections, mobile only apps, but it seems to do nothing.
There has to be a developer who can fix this. Willing to donate if so!

The weird thing is, I used that option to test this as well, and with the dev toggle mobile data always active OFF it does work for some reason....
My Chrome using whatismyip shows a Vodafone IP correctly..
I don't even have a "Mobile Data Only Apps" option to select. I know where it's supposed to be, it's just not there. On Samsung A12 U1 firmware.

Same issue here on my Note20 Ultra.
Did you find any workaround to have both connections active in the status bar?
Hi, I have the same issue with my Redmi Note 9 Pro with MIUI 12.5.7.
I have the "Mobile Data Always Active" option activated and it isn't working, when connected to Wifi the mobile data isn't connected...
Anyone knows a fix for this?
Or there is any app that can be a workaround?
Same here with s21 plus on Verizon, I used to have both 5G and wifi on, after the last update the 5g icon disappeared while im on wifi. The problem is everytime I leave a wifi area the phone takes forever to switch back to mobile network and I have to restart the phone.

Same here, I used to use this a lot using my phone with a wifi obd scanner, the scanner obviously doesn't connect to internet so having cell data with the wifi connection was great to be able to read codes for vehicles, it's been about a year or 2 since it quit working for me on anything android 11 and up
Same issue here on my Galaxy Tab A7. The intelligent Wi-Fi doesn’t even work. There is this app Speedify that works for free up to 2gb. It does channel bonding via a VPN but I would like for the basic features built into my OS to work also
