Question GPS Problem Joying JY-UL128N2 Android 6 - FYT Android Head Units

Hello to all. I have a big problem with my unit's GPS signal. I have tried various firmware with Android 6 and various MCUs but always with the same result. My problem is that randomly, after hooking up the GPS signal, the signal is lost and no longer hooked. The bars in the GPS screen are not active and do not even activate with a good position. I have read about other forums on this issue, but no solution has been found. I do not think it's in the HW problem, maybe some of the SW crashes and do not recover.
Thanks for anyone who can help me.

I tried to disable two cores and lower the CPU frequency to 900Mhz with Kernel Adiutor (ROOT), I managed to get to a 60 degree centigrade temperature, believing the problem was temperature but the GPS problem reappears.

Have you checked your GPS cable? It could be (partially) broken somewhere internally. When driving it might start to swing and loose connection. Please try with the cable in your hand and make gentle bends over the cable length. See if you loose signal.

I lose connection even when the car is off and stops, without movement. It does not seem like a cable problem, I was thinking of a problem with some service on Android that randomly interfere with GPS.

I was suggested to verify that the GPS slot has 3.2 voltage.

FYI: The gps is on the SoM, not the mainboard. That means that the MCU has absolutely no relevance to it.

Is there a solution found for this? Is it really caused by the 3.2V?

Can you tell me about the fix? I have the same problem on erisin unit for e46, sometimes it works i have signal, sometimes no signal... And it stay with no signal untill the car is off for 2-3 hours, from where shoud i start?

I have this same problem but on a brand new Joying Android 10 unit.

[Q/NEED HELP] GPS inaccuracy

Hello everyone. As you can see I have a GPS inaccuracy problem. My phone fixes to 7-8 satellites really fast (approx. 10 sec.), but when I use Run Keeper/similar sports tracker or Google Maps my trail is like zig-zag, app shows that I'm moving at crazy speed and so on. I tried AGPS Patch 3.1 by crypted, GPS fix by xenova, flashing some Radios (31_M and 18_M), ROMs and kernels (currently ARHD and Sultan kernel, tried ViperS, CM10.1), but nothing helps... I add some pictures which show my trail when I went across street (Vilniaus g.). Please help. Thanks

Nobody knows what problem this is?
If the problem remains also after wiping all, I think it could be an hardware issue.
Have you always had this problem?
When you use GPS while driving your car, the path has the same issue?
Totally wiped and installed CM10.1, but the problem remains. I bought it used. I don't know how much time it was used, but the digitizer had stock glue and the VOID is not damaged. No rust. So I think the previous user didn't have problems with phone. Never used navigation in car because I live in small country, which doesn't require any navigation to drive across Can RUU affect this? I really need normal lock...
If you try using only google maps? Test it making sure that it is the only app using GPS (kill background open apps).
i have the exact same problem! I've had the phone for a while, so maybe it's something that is worn. I'm thinking about the connections between the antennas and the phone for example. I hope we can find a solution! It's independent of which rom I use and which apps I use.
Have you seen this tip? "New Sensation Install - Gps Problems (Fixed)" @ cyanogenmod forum.
I can't find the option in cm10.1. So maybe they removed it or changed it to something else.
I'm thinking about flashing cm9 just to try it..

Google Maps behaves exactly the same. Arrow, which shows my position, jumping all arround my street pretty much the same as in RunKeeper.

I don't think that this is something software specific. I think that the problem is hiding somewhere deeper but not in software, because all roms and different radios behave the same way. I think this is something hardware related.

Mmm, then I think it's an hardware problem... try to contact HTC support!
Hello again every one. I don't want to create a new thread so I'm writting here. Maybe someone knows what problem this is? HTC support, as always, suggesting me to do things like resetting phone, pulling out the battery, fully charge and so on... I thinking about selling this wonderful phone because of such a big problem... I can't use GPS everywhere...
Gps inaccuracy problem is also facing to me too.
I solved it by flashing the latest firmware and use clocksync before each time i run. Works reasonable, but the clock drifts quite fast. It wasnt enough to only use clocksync or only flash firmware.

It's back.. I've ordered an Omate Truesmart to use for running instead..
My thoughts are that it could be the gps antenna connections to the back. I have no other ideas..

Battery Drain + Bluetooth

Apologies everyone for YET ANOTHER battery life thread -- I hope mine's slightly more actionable.
I've isolated my battery drain issues to bluetooth. As long as BT is on, my battery drains approx 4-6%/hr. With BT off, it's more like 1%/hr. It doesn't matter if I have devices paired or not, and nearby device scanning doesn't make much of a difference (but I keep it off).
1) Does anyone know why this is happening? Is anyone else having this problem or found a fix
2) I primarily use bluetooth in the car, but having to manually turn it on and off each time is a pain. Can anyone think of a Tasker profile that might automate this for me? Unfortunately, my cars are parked within range of my Wifi, so that's not an option.
Thanks everyone!
Not sure if I'm right...but did you check in settings -> more connection (1st screen)-> looking for devices (2nd) if it is active or not (3rd)?
Sorry for my bad English...I'm Swiss ?

Your English beats the heck out of my German.
Yeah, it's called "Nearby device scanning" on the English phones, and I have it turned off.
Also just pulled the new VZW update. Things seem worse now than they were.

I had the exact same issue with bluetooth battery drain. I posted something about it a while back. I never found a solution. I had to install an app called autobluetooth to turn off and on the bluetooth automatically. I use bluetooth mainly in my car and I use a wireless charger in my car. I set the bluetooth to only turn on while charging and my problem is solved. I drain about 1-2% per hour with the bluetooth off and about 3-4% per hour with it on.
Hope this helps.
Yeah, that wont work for me. Thanks anyway.
I think I am having the same problem since the update when I use my BT at work it's draining get horribly and getting hot. I really don't want to factory reset I just got everything how I wanted.
Sent from my SM-G930V using XDA-Developers mobile app
OK, so I think I found it. I enabled developer mode, and killed the Gattservice under Bluetooth Share. So far, things seem a lot better.
I have no idea which app is enabling that service, so unfortunately, I have to kill it each time I reboot the phone, but I can cope with that. It doesnt seem to affect anything else thus far.
I'll update again in a few hours. I'm only about 6 hours into this test.

Which is the model of your phone?
I have the exact same issue. It started about a month back for me. I'm on the T-Mobile variant. I saw that Bluetooth share had high usage, so killed it and deleted data in that app. I suspect it might be a BLE app that I use - payrange.

Flaky GPS

Hi guys
I recently bought a "Hizpo" mtcd PX3 2GB head unit. Generally it's working well except that gps sometimes gets Fix quickly, sometimes slowly and sometimes it never gets there at all.
Weirdly, sometimes it sees any 8 satellites but still can't get a fix.
I see this in malaysk and stock roms and had resorted to using a Bluetooth gps for a while.
I have swapped the antenna for a new one (magnetic type) - it is maybe a little better but still not reliable.
I've measured 2.7v on the gps socket - seems a little low when the antennas nominally need 3 or 3.2 - maybe they're not being amplified properly?
I've read that some people have had to open and resolder the gps connector on to the board when it has a poor connection - I'm reluctant to do this but may need to.
Any suggestions for solving this would be appreciated - it's driving me a bit nuts.
My only thoughts right now are to shift the antenna above the dash and see if that solves it - or open up the unit and resolder the connector.
Try using "Faster GPS" ( https://apkpure.com/fastergps/org.fastergps )
With this app my GPS has improved a lot !!
Once the app is launched, you must specify your continent and your country.
I hope this can help you

I think it's the system's fault. No or bad gps.conf file. Having an internet connection and a properly configured file, the data necessary to start determining the position is retrieved much faster. The program must download the so-called data from GPS satellites "ephemeris" or "ephemeris". They contain information about the orbits, times and other data that accurately determine the position of the satellites. If you have correctly configured gps.conf file, you download these data online. On the phone without internet, the "fix" catches about 50 seconds. with internet enabled, grabs after 8 seconds. The GPS Status application allows you to force the data to be downloaded manually, so-called A-GPS data. But it would be best to properly configure the gps.conf file and place it in the / etc directory. I just do not know how to save data in the system directory / etc without root? Maybe someone will tell me how to do it on not rooted device.

P30 GPS/Location Problem

Hi Everyone
I've had a Huawei P30 for about 3 months now and apparently I can't use the GPS. I have tried Google Maps
and Navigator and both only updates my location every few minutes.
I used GPS Status and according to it I only get 2 satellites IF I'm lucky. Most of the time I don't get any.
I tested GPS Status with another Huawei P Smart phone and it picks up about 10-15 satellites.
I have tried and checked everything except factory resetting the phone. Does anyone else
have this problem? Is there a fix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Also which case are you using, possible the case is blocking the GPS radio, try without a case

Actually seems slightly better with the case, it is locating you within 18m which isn't terrible but no lock
Indoors will obviously be worse, and cloudy days can cause problems too
Make sure you have all the high accuracy location settings enabled too, WiFi/BT (In settings search for "Scanning") and location high accuracy enabled in the location setting itself (Location access > Google location Accuracy)

Not having owned this phone very long I'm out of ideas of what else to try other than a reset now, and if it's still the same after a reset I'd return it as faulty and get a replacement, possible it's hardware related if the antenna is damaged

So I first tried Safe Mode. Was a waste of time seeing as I can't use any app to test the gps.
After that I factory reset the phone. Unfortunately the issue persists. So guess I'll be sending
the phone back.

Xtrons PX6 unable to connect to wi-fi hotspot

Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with Xtrons PQ89UNVIP – MTCE PX6 unit running on Android 9 and Hal9k Mod V4 with all OTA-Updates in a Golf Mk6.
Earlier, this unit occasionally had some difficulties connecting to the hotspot from any phone (tested with various devices) shortly after starting the car, especially during hot weather. Usually a reboot helped and after that it connected to my hotspot normally. I complained to Xtrons about it and got a new wi-fi antenna from them, but swapping it didn't solve my problem. Not feeling like sending the whole device back, I decided to accept it and live with it, as it was not a big problem for me because it occurred quite rarely.
However, a few days ago the issue escalated, the head unit does not want to connect to the hotspot from my phone at all. It sees the device's network, makes an attempt to connect to it, but it fails. At first glance it looks exactly the same as the problem I had before (continuous Connecting -> Saved, see the video below), except that a reboot doesn't help, the weather/temperature doesn't matter, and it connects normally to hotspots from other phones. I also tried to do it in Safe mode.
My phone is a 3-week-old OnePlus Nord 2 5G with Android 11. Until the last few days, the hotspot worked perfectly. I tried changing the name and password of the hotspot, resetted network settings completely on both devices, tried both 2,4 and 5 GHz band and various other options. Once shortly after renaming the hotspot, it was able to connect to it, but a few seconds later the connection was dropped. Other devices can normally connect to the hotspot from my phone.
Video showing the issue:
Before I restore the device to factory settings and have to install and set everything up again (which doesn't guarantee me a solution either), I would like to know if anyone has an idea what else I could do to fix this.
I would be very grateful for any willingness to help, I am desperate because this unit without internet connection loses most of its functions I used
Greetings,
Bansuj
