Whatsapp Web connection issue - General Questions and Answers

I am unable to connect to whatsapp web.
I can send and receive messages and calls on my device but cannot connect to WhatsApp web on pc. My device scans the qr image perfectly and then the loading screen remains the same. I have spoken to my phone provider and they have assured me my line is fine and there are no connectivity restrictions. I have used other devices with different numbers on the same network and computer and WhatsApp web works perfectly. I have tried on different WiFi connections and pcs and nothing! I have factory reset my device and reinstalled WhatsApp and updated everything and it still does not work.
Help center has not resolved my issue.
I have done everything the troubleshoot tells you to try.
I have cleared cache, cookies, data. I have updated apps, browsers. I have reset connections, apns. I have made sure there are no firewalls or vpns. No ad blocks. You name it, I've probably tried it!
I have contacted whatsapp about it and they have basically taken me around in circles.
I have also contacted my mobile provider again and have been told that there are no restrictions or connection configurations that could affect using whatsapp web. I have tried the same sim card in different phones and none of them connect however, any other phone with any other sim card does.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

No internet using USB to PC

Apologies if this has already been asked/answered, but have spent the last two days looking for a solution..
When connected via USB I cannot establish an internet connection, unless I delete the T-Mobile proxy setting.
I've applied the regedit edit that's been mentioned as a solution, but this didn't work.
Is there anyway to use the pass through connection without having to delete the proxy everytime?
The main annoyance is that the phone won't sync with my exchange server whilst connected to the PC. I have mail set up to sync with exchange server and all other items syncing with my PC. My Hermes sync'ed with anything and everything.
Thanks
just leave the proxy out.
T-Mobile's proxy is a pain in the arse and causes all sorts of problems.
I deleted the proxy from my connection on t-mobile nearly three years ago and on every single device i have had since. never had a problem since.
If the proxy is there, it affects ALL internet connections, so when you plug it in to your PC, it is trying to go through a Proxy that you can only access over GPRS.
that's why proxies are a PITA and should be deleted permanently.
and no, it should not affect anyhting if you delete it. or not that i have noticed anyway.
Thanks will give it a go when I get home.
Seem to be able to access internet without the proxy, but forgot my usb cable so can't test pass though at work.. fingers crossed!
When I deleted the proxy I couldn't then send SMS texts...?
That's a completely random coincidence. The proxy has nothing to do with SMS whatsoever.
you can of course make sure that you are using GSM for SMS. start>settings>connections>advanced network>SMS
set it to GSM. if this is already set, then it has nothing to do with the proxy.
Says "Your text message cannot be sent" after I removed the proxy. SMS is set to GSM. Could it have altered any other relevant settings? Have put the proxy back now but it still refuses to send the message.
Any ideas?
no, wouldn't have changed anything else. The proxy has no bearing on SMS whatsoever.
Like i said, i reckon it is just a coincidence, otherwise turning the proxy back on would have fixed it.
If it is set to GSM already try the other three settings as well.
and a soft reset of course....
Have found a cable and tested - still no joy after deleting proxy.
Connecting to PC, and items syncing with host PC are fine. Mail syncing with Exchange server fails and can't access internet via pass through.
Browsing and syncing with the exchange server is fine when not connected to the PC.
Btw kempas - SMS works fine after deleting the proxy setting, as it should do.
Steve
on the handset:
start>settings>connections>wifi (NOT Wireless LAN)> network adapters
set the drop down box to Internet.
On the PC:
Open Activesync>File>Connection Settings
Set "This computer connects to" to the internet.
Dunno what it is in vista, i have avoided it like the plague....
I did a soft reset and tried again (a couple of time) with no luck, unable to send text message.
Went to settings, connections and run through the network provider setup wizard, let it reset the phone and tried again. Settings 'seemed' all the same but SMS now sent without issue.
Will try removing the proxy again later and testing with another SMS.
EDIT: removed the proxy and sent an SMS without issue this time... So was a "completely random coincidence" as rhedgehog said.
Still can't access You Tube via it's mobile client though, at least, it still says no videos...
All now appears to do what I expect after removing proxy and following rhedgehog's advice. Pass through now works Many thanks!
Also appeared that the t-mobile proxy blocks Windows live and messenger

Just Web N Walk I believe, not plus, so I guess messenger is a no no. Will bypassing their proxy end up with me being charged for data??

No, but it is against the t&cs to use IM software when on basic web n walk. Tmobile block the ports for IM software anyways, it seems for new customers since several old customers managed to get through.....i never could though, so the proxy would make no difference if it is on or off.
I personally am on wnw+ which is TOTALLY worth it for using the HSPA when out with my laptop on location.
Cheers for that. Won't really need messenger to be honest - but the proxy setting interfering with the pass through was annoying.

Log into My T-Mobile or call customer services and get the adult content filter turned off.
I think they blocked it to prevent kids blowing mummy and daddy's credit on watching videos.
Of course, Streaming is also against the T&C's of wnw standard, so it could be that this is why. I'm on wnw+ and had to turn off the filter to get it working.
Yep, that was it. Cheers for the reply...

whatsapp problem

hello
i've installed the whatsapp on my sensation
but in the setup stage where it asks me to insert my phone number
after i do that it tries to connect and fails
error : unable to connect. please try again later
this app worked on my previous android phone
can anyone help ?
Haven't ran into this issue with my reinstall . It did not however send my phone the text I hit send and it acted like it was sending but went past it saying it was verified and let me in the program.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
anyone else ?
No problems with whatsapp whatsoever. Been using it a LOT.
Only problem with Whatsapp for me is that most contact photos do not show, despite being 'linked'. May try to reinstall if I get annoyed enough.
No issues here. I rely on it heavily. Runs just as flawlessly as it did on my iPhone.
I would suggest just trying it from a different location... Sometimes getting in range of a new tower fixes little data issues like that for me. Or try it on Wifi. Or if you were on Wifi, try it on data network... I think you get the idea
Only issue I have with Whatsapp is sometimes it like refuses to refresh whether the contact is online or not and shows them as "Last seen......" and won't push texts through when I know for a fact the person is online. Annoying, as I will send a text expecting it to go through only to look at my phone half an hour later wondering why the person hasn't texted back only to discover a single check by my message

Not being able to use WhatsApp is no fun, so if you are having trouble connecting, keep reading. To start, there are many reasons why you may not be able to connect to WhatsApp, so we have listed a few of the most common reasons.
The most common reason why you cannot connect to WhatsApp is because your phone is not connected to the internet.
To ensure you have a working internet connection, check the following:
You have a data plan on your carrier's network or a Wi-Fi connection with internet access.
Make sure the signal strength for Wi-Fi or data network is good and that the phone is connected to the network.
Open a webpage in your phone browser to see if it loads. If it loads, your phone is connected to the internet!
Reboot your phone.
If you cannot connect to the internet through your Wi-Fi network, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or connecting over your phone's data network.
If you can open webpages and run other applications that connect to the internet on your phone, but WhatsApp will still not connect, try deleting and reinstalling WhatsApp. Learn how to reinstall WhatsApp on: Android | BlackBerry | iPhone | Nokia
If you can connect to other applications on your data network, but not WhatsApp, it could be that your mobile provider has configured your wireless access points to block certain chat applications.
Try this if WhatsApp still will not work on data only:
Contact your mobile provider and ask them about different access point settings to run chat apps.
They will guide you through a process in which you will manually configure your data network and web settings.
-------------------------------
Thats what I did and it worked, also try the last step of changing your access point !
Finally!!!!
Check your access point ie APN
I was facing same issues when I checked access point it was different from what I normally use. I changed it and it works fine now

Service provider : Vodafone.

[Q] No 4G/LTE/3G connection

I have the D6633 and the phone works great except that it won't connect to the 4G/3G/2G/LTE network. I can make calls, send sms normally. It even recognizes both sim cards connected. But internet only over wi-fi.
I called my operator, they say the phone is configured correctly, I tried my brother's sim card from another operator and the same happens.
So, the phone is clearly unlocked, if not it wouldn't recognize the sim cards at all. But no connection to the internet...
Any suggestions? I already did four factory resets, I recovered the Rom using sony software... Starting to get anxious here

Despite what your operator says, check your phone is configured correctly. Check the APN - copy it from someone else with the same phone on the same network. Which one are you on? Go into the network options and select 4g, or 3g, etc, one at a time. Select the network to connect to manually; you might have a 2g, 3g and 4g connection to chose from; try all of them.
If that fails, especially with what you said about your brother's sim card, it does sound like it's faulty.

Download Internet and MMS. Under settings, More, Internet Settings.
Double check that you have a tick box in Mobile data traffic under settings, More, Mobile Networks
If that doesn't work, then select Mobile networks, Network Operators, note this is quite slow, but should show a list of carriers or bands. Select the one for your sim, which will re-establish with the carrier (and should download the APN's) Access Point Names. If not talk to your operator what these should be and add them if they don't exist (they normally will have info about them on their internet sites.

That worked. I could not configure APN manually, it would not save no matter how many times I configured it. SO I used an APN APP from plaster and it worked. Thank you for the enlightenment!
good to hear it worked out

Wifi Calling Won't Connect, Errors (photos incl)

Okay, y'all... I have googled my brains out and tried all sorts of tricks to solve this. Nada.
Issue: When I click enable Wifi Calling, I am presented with a page involving typing in my address. (This for 9-1-1 calling over wifi networks.) As soon as I do so, I'm told "Unable to connect to network. Please move to a new location and try again." Now, note... I can make calls and send messages. So Sprint is working oveall.
Now... background:
* My phone is a Sprint-provided N920P (Note 5). New (or possibly refurbed, this was via my company not a personal purchase).
* Operating system was stock when I first ran into this; foolishly perhaps, I didn't worry about it and rooted the phone. (I'd gone through a long wait for the phone to finally switch from a generic company number provided to my individual number, and as soon as that finally happened I rooted w/o thinking further about the wifi calling issue.)
* I have tried stock (rooted) with latest updates, just to be clear on that. I double checked there were no more by loading up SmartSwitch on my windows PC.
* I also tried resetting via the dial-in reset number (##72786#).
* I also reset the data and PRL.
I hope someone has an idea. Here are three photos, including one (the sim card settings pic) I as a new Sprint user don't understand. Why does "Mobile Network State" say "disconnected"? The other two pics show the screens regarding the wifi calling settings.

Message and Internet issues on Cellular after Factory Reset

I have a Tecno Spark 7 and I'm missing messages and having internet issues on cellular. I am not receiving a lot of important messages, I don't receive like 60-70% of my messages. I have checked that the SMSC number is same as provided by the network. Also I am internet issues on cellular data, I see 'You're offline' on Spotify but all the album arts load and even music plays, same with Chrome, I see the 'No Internet Connection' black banner on top, but all websites load properly. Last time I had this problem, I had to drive all the way to the service center where they flashed the rom. There are no custom roms for my device and the service center is about an hour drive from my place. This happened after I factory reset my phone. What could be the issue?

If your device uses a SIM, it may be an issue with your APN(Access Point Name) settings, you may need to edit/reconfigure your APN settings.
