XZ Premium (G8141) [Bootloop] [Bootloader Lock] - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hello, I need your help. I mention my problem: I have a XZ Premium (G8141) in the state of (BOOTLOOP) after updating the Android. I did the following: Try to repair the firmware with Xperia Companion, also flash with Newflasher and none of this worked for me. I would like to try to unlock the boot manager since I have it blocked but I can not because I do not have the USB debugging active. Any way to unlock the boot loader? Thank you very much and excuse me for my precarious English. Regards!

Can you describe what didn't work for you with Xperia Companion?
If you can't effect a repair with the Sony tool, the chances of you negotiating your way round finding and installing the drivers required and flashing the files required to root the phone, in the correct order seems pretty slim. The fact that the phone boots means that it's not bricked and the boot partition is ok.
There is no way to activate USB degug without getting into the OS, so repair or flash is the only option.
Have you installed the Sony drivers ? If you are using Windows 10 you will need to install these drivers with 'driver signing disabled' via safe mode.
You need to have the phone turned off comepletely before trying to connect it to Xperia companion repair, something that's easy to overlook. Hold the volume up(+) and the power button until the phone vibrates three times, then follow the instuctions on the compaion repair. Holding the volume down(-) when connecting the USB lead when asked to do so.

I tried installing the drivers that you gave me with the signatures of desperate drivers and now the Xperia Companion does not proceed to flash
Hello, the Xperia Companion tells me that it was restored perfectly. As for the drivers, they do not show me any errors in the device manager. Although I do not remember having installed them by deactivating the drivers' signature. I'll try that, although I doubt it works. Thanks for answering!

[Q] Xperia Ray - Boot Loop

I have two factory unlocked Xperia ray (so-03c)
Recently i upgraded one of them to the latest firmware using "sony bridge for mac". Just after upgrade; phone stopped showing any cellular networks; everything including wifi was working smoothly. I tried switching different modes GSM, WCDMS and WCDMA/GSM; it didn't work out for cellular. (I used to have Galaxy Ace, so tried if Android boot recovery would work out; but didn't found anyway in xperia).
I wanted to repair the phone using option in "Sony Bridge for Mac" again. Before proceeding; I did a factory reset then using the settings in the phone. Bridge didn't recognise my phone; Then I found some tutorial for doing reset in the web; And; Pressed Power and Volume Down for about 20 seconds; it vibrated 3-4 times.
Tried to open the phone; it just kept looping in the boot screen
I cant connect it to flashtool, bridge for recovery; Even tried in PC Companion. it detects my phone; but when I want to go to repair; it wont proceed as i cant take the phone to recovery mode. holding volume down and connecting Usb does not do anything
I would be happy if there is any way of recovering this device and i can restore to an earlier firmware; which is intact in the other phone.
Images in attachments:
Loop: (i can see sony xperia)
When i press volume down and connect to usb; just shows charging
Shown by bridge and flashtool:
I think there is a fastboot mode way for recovering a device. I search on google and I found a topic about recovering an Optimus One P500 by fastboot, maybe it will work for your device too...

Yes I tried in windows and mac both:
used Pc companion, Update Service, Bridge for mac; Tried flashtool (with black logo); Sony's Emma flashtool wont show device.
Bridge for mac reads device but asks to connect again enabling memory card.
Installed Android developer sdk; but the device didnt go to the flashboot mode. when it connects to usb; it shows charging; wont loop; When i open it, it stays on a loop.

You might want to download any Official FTF file for Xperia Ray, then try to flash this on the phone before trying other custom ROMs

[Q] Xperia E3 stuck on boot screen with sony logo

I know there are probably lots of threads about this, but I couldn't find one about E3 since it's a relatively new phone, but to point now
So I tried to update my Xperia E3 to it's latest firmware via the Sony pc companion(it was the only option) and during the update ,once it was downloaded it prompted to connect the phone through the USB cable, once done it began installing the update but when it was like at 80-85% it showed an error saying that internet connection isn't available and gave two options to either retry or cancel, now the internet was just working fine, I checked google, Youtube everything and it was working, but every time I hit retry it gave the same option ,so eventually I canceled the update,
Now the phone was switched off so I tried switching it on and it just froze at the sony boot logo screen, restarting with power button+volume up only restarts it to the same situation(stuck at logo screen), I did look up for a solution but couldn't find one that fit,
Of course I did switch it off using the off button at the back of phone(under the back cover), and I know about Sony Update service but that's no longer supported(it required the phone in off state), pc companion can't detect an off phone and when it does it starts phone to boot frozen screen and fails at detect step, another thing I found was a custom tool(possibly just SUS) that could flash a firmware in an off phone but however there is no firmware available for my version, since I live in India, so there's that , any help is appreciated,
A few things:
-The battery was at 91% when update started
-There was no root attempt etc made on phone, it was complete stock
-I did update the firmware once earlier but just from the phone it was a 2 mp update, no pc
-When I started this update there was already a 29 mb something update available without pc, and that's pretty much all, like I said any help is appreciated
Don't worry buddy, your phone doesn't die yet. Actually, PC Companion (PCC) has repair phone/tablet function.
Open PCC, click Start button in Support Zone, then continue to click Start button under Phone/Tablet Software Update and you will see "Repair your phone/tablet". Just follow its instruction. remember using the hard reset button under the back cover to turn off the device first and don't turn it on.
Anyway, what is your model? d22xx? i can't provide the firmware unless I know exactly the model.
It worked

Hello, my device is D2212 and I have similar problem.
I've rooted and unlocked bootloader using this method from XDA forum to root Xperia E3. However after unlocking bootloader and root my device my PC and my notebook doesn't recognize my device to transfer data or access data of cellphone. It keeps in charging mode.
Today it was really weird and lagging way too much so I tried to reset to factory setting. After that my device does not start android it keep stuck on blue screen right after display of Xperia and android.
I tried this method you suggested of PC Companion but it does not work since PC does not recognize my device anymore since rooting.
I need help here, please.
O just bought this device last week.
Thanks in advance.

Sony Xperia E3 Bricked

I tried to put AOSP 5.1 from FXP in my phone, and my cellphone bricked. It wont turn on, it keeps the Sony Logo 2 seconds. It haven't connection with flashtool. Please Help me.
Hi. Can you give me more information what you did exactly step by step. So maybe i can help you. My E3 was bricked too. I found a solution. But i need more information.
Flash stock rom it'll unbrick it
#4
Thank you answer back! I did exactly the following:
The model is my Xperia E3 D2212 dual sim.
- Unlocked the bootloader,
- CWM installed a custom recovery,
- I reinstalled the original rom,
- I made a backup of the entire system using CWM.
And everything went super normal way, without complications.
The mistake was when he wanted to installing a custom ROM called "AOSP_L_MR1_150718_flamingo" because I found out later that he had not read that it was for ANOTHER XPERIA as follow the you tube tutorial . The ROM's for another Xperia, if I remember correctly.
After doing the installation process of the new AOSP ROM, the phone is less than a minute on the logo of SONY XPERIA down with, looped, can not enter the bootloader, and no longer recognizes the PC. I can not recognize it at FlashTool. I think that's all. :crying:
I greatly appreciate your attention.
I ended up editing this text in the google translator, then I'm sorry, if you are not very good.
Thank you

Could you help me? I can not make the pc recognize him ... He barely turns on and off since. The PC Companion software tells recognize it, but when you are installing the software says "it is not possible for this phone is changed." I can not scessar the bootloader does not give time and it shuts down.
Thanks, my error was with the fastboot driver and adb in flashtool. The Windows drivers wasn't been recognized, I've to install the drivers, all of they. After this, I Flashed the Stcok ROM, installed SuperSU and Restored the backup, everything works fine and fluid now. Thanks, anyway, for encouraging me.
I flashed my D2203 back to factory rom yesterday using Flashtool (flashtool.net/downloads.php) on Windows 7 PC.
How did I do it:
1) Install flashtool
2) Install Flashtool-drivers.exe from flashtool subfolder /drivers and select flashmode and fastboot drivers.
3) Run Flashtool and open XperiFirm (letters XF on logo)
4) Select Xperia E3 Flamingo -> proper D22** you have -> Market -> and select latest release below PayPal logo
5) Press "Download" and wait for download and unpacking
6) Switch off phone (if power on/off button does not respond then open back cover and push "OFF" by using pen)
7) Press and hold volume down button and connect phone to PC using original USB cable
8) Using Flashmode flash device

Bricked sony xperia j

So i've broke my phone by editing build.prop ... i don't have any recovery, usb debugging AS I REMEMBER WAS ENABLED and my phone is just bootlooping connected on my laptop, it detects it but i can't access files, nor does adb find my phone, or pc companion or any other android file manager . My question is: CAN I FIX IT PLEASE? I've downloaded the original firmware and got out the build.prop the original one, but how can i place it in?!
EDIT: I think i found a fix, sony pc companion actually started to work now after i "entered recovery mode" after a few reboots trying to hold volume down there is no logo, black screen but the phone is like turned on, and it detected my phone and now i'm trying to install my software
If this is going to work, can somebody point out to me some recovery mod and a fast ROM?

XZ Premium won't turn on - PLEASE HELP!

hi everybody,
I left my phone charging in the night(it was on) and when i came to take it in the morning (it was off)... i tried to turn it on but it didn't turn on!
(IM USING ORIGINAL SONY CHARGER AND USB THAT CAME WITH IT)
when I plug it in to a charger the LED turns green (that means that the battery is at 90% or above)
i tried power and volume up (hard reset) but it didn't work!
when i connected to my computer it wasn't detected....(tried all USB ports)
Also, i tried to enter Flashmode and Fastboot mode.. and none of them worked!
Xperia companion didn't detect it....
I tried to turn it on several times but it didn't work!
i even tried all buttons combination (power, both volumes ) all together, and nothing worked!
PLEASE HELP ME!!!
please anyone have an idea or any suggestion that might help!
all your suggestions are so much appreciated!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I used to be a bit similar to your situation, but its power indicator is not lit. Pressing other buttons did not respond. I also tried to connect it to the computer, but still didn't respond. I had no choice but to send it back to the after-sales service. The response I got was that the power IC was damaged.

It's a long story, but bought an XZ from Toby Deals ( never ever use those rip off merchants ).
Decided not to want to turn on just before the year warranty ran out. Red flashing LED whilst charging, white Sony screen comes up, then goes off again, repeats ad infinitum. Obviously tried all the usual volume up/power button resets and this actually responds with the one buzz/three buzz response. Original charger and even a brand new battery - no change.
Didn't want to send back to Singapore, so tried Sony support who advised to send to Sony UK repair center.
I sent it in, came back as 'can't repair due to non UK model'.
Advised Sony on line support again, who promised me it would be looked at if sent in again.
Did that and they sent it back repaired and working ( no hardware ) - reflashed ?? Happy for three days.
Same thing happened after three days / same symptoms as before
Sent in again, sent back as 'non UK model' again. Started to cry
Informed Toby Deals who now don't want to know, as now a few moths past warranty expiry date.
Now I have a bricked expensive phone and have had since January. What a waste of money.
All I want to do, is whatever Sony UK repairers did in their factory.
No detection on PC and Companion either, which I feel is a big problem for any reflashing ideas.
Any ideas anybody please ?

Your phone is still booting, so the boot partition is still ok.
Download newflasher.
Install the Sony ADB drivers, to do this you will need to boot your Windows10 into safe mode and use 'driver signing disabled'
Read up on Xperiafirm, download the latest firmware for your region.
Put a copy of the Newflasher into the firmware download folder.
Unplug your phone from the PC.
Turn your phone off completely Power and Vol up (+) until it vibrates three times.
Run the newflasher and when prompted, plug your phone back in while holding the Volume up (+). Once the process has started you can let go.
Good luck
If you see any led light , try to use pc companion ( if your phone is not unlocked ) and if you have unlocked bootloader try to use xperifix to download the latest software for your phone and then flash it using newflasher ( don't forget to have the Sony USB drivers on your computer ) pls tell us if it works to find another way to fix your smartphone.

Thanks for the info Didgesteve.
I am running through this now, but the firmware within Xperiafirm is a little light on the F8332 version ( dual sim ).
The single sim F8331 has lots more options including one for UK Virgin Mobile, which could be mine. The only other option for the 8332 is the Central Europe 1 CE1 option, which I don't think it is. Any advice please ? I am trying to find it on the Sony site, as @IgorEisberg states "XZ F8331 and F8332 are on the sony server now"

It doesn't matter which region you have as long as the model number is the same, it's not locked to any language. The language can be chosen on start up, from a fresh install.
Central Europe 1 CE1 will be just fine.

Still no joy.
I am using Windows 10 and when I requested recovery reboot, it does give me a safe boot option ( option 5 I think ), but it also gives me a 'disable driver signing' option too and you can't opt for both.
I have actually tried to boot in both modes and the newflasher does the same thing - see attached screenshot
Not sure what more I can do, to get these drivers on. I have also run in developer mode and set USB device discovery to on, to no avail.
If device manager never sees the phone, how will I ever be able to install the drivers.
The newflasher, asks to install Gordongate and it doesn't matter if I select yes or no, it still says no usb device.
I am running newflasher from here :
C:\Xperia firmware\F8332_Customized CE1_1315-4550_41.3.A.2.171_R1E
...........but I have tried to run it from the driver folder too.
I am stuck. If I can send it to you, please PM me !

Windows10, boot into safe mode, choose 'disable driver signing' in the advanced menu, start the computer and install the Sony drivers. If that doesn't work, answering yes to the first question in Newflasher creates a new drivers zip folder within the Newfalsher folder. Install these drivers, again with driver signing disabled.
When you put the phone into flash mode and plug it in to your PC, what does it say in the device manager?

Thanks for your reply Didgesteve.
I installed the drivers by installing the sa0115adb.inf successfully, but as the phone is continuously cycling through a 'Sony' white screen and blank screen ( frequency 3secs of each ), device manager does not seem to 'see' anything at all.
I also installed the ggsommc.inf driver, when prompted and answered as a 'ye's for the GordonGate option. It didn't give me a failure message, but also didn't state 'installed successfully' as the sa0115adb one did.
I also tried another generic driver called android_winusb.inf to no avail.

Try to use pccompanion sorry if I'm late
PC companion is no good, as the device can't been seen by windows or that app. I was wondering what the Sony uk repair centre used the last time they repaired it. Wish they would again !!
