Hello,
Sorry, i'm not english. So bad english.
Well, i have an asus tf700t and he have a big problem. ( a friend give me the asus, not mine )
- When i press on / off button, the asus start, and block to the asus logo, nothing more ( a message " the device is unlocked" on top )
- No problem, i press together on / off button and volume +
---> the asus reboot to the asus logo
- i press together on / off button and volume -
---> just a bzzt and nothing more, black screen
- i plugged the asus on a laptop with win 10
---> nothing
- i try adb-fastboot
---> nothing, not recognyzed
- i try hard reboot ( with the little hole )
---> nothing
Any idea, because, for me, i can't do anything more.
Thank you for the next idea for this asus tablet.
Well, first of all thanks for the clear description of the problem! I have seen many, many posts by native English speakers that were a lot less clear than yours! So you're doing just fine.
Unfortunately your tablet does not do well at all. It's dead actually. You cannot get into the bootloader, you cannot get into recovery > sorry, dead as a door nail. :crying:
If you can find a cheap motherboard you could try changing it, but that's for you to decide...
Well, oh thank you !
And damn ! That tablet his dead.
I search for a new motherboard ( 32 / 64 ), i find a used for approximately 50$ ans a new one for 80$. With the postal port it exceeds 100$.
Too expensive for an old tablet.
My friend give me an other one asus tablet ( tf300t ) but she have the screen very broken. And the prise exceeds 120$, too expensive, again...
But if i decide to repair one of these tablets, it's for reading european comics, japans manga and pdf magazines with perfect viewer and e-pubs with amazon kindle for tablet.
With the best rom disponible, and a good installation, is it possible to run fine with one of these tablets ?
Best question ever ! If what i want is not very possible or too slow, i think the tablets go to trash box for recycling.
Thanks.
TEST to reinstall a rom through the SD card.
You will find the procedure on the site xda OR GOOGLE
motherboard ON ALIEXPRESS

Hello,
So, i try to revive this old tablet and :
I tried the procedure will proposed by Fredbzh ( Salut copain breton ! ), and i have a serious problem with the usb connection.
- tf700t is not detected by the laptop ( Lenovo T450, not very old ) and not detected by a Macbook Pro
- ok, i download usb drivers for the tf700t ( android_nvidia_driver_201506 ), not working and not detected
- Android SDK, the same, not detected
- for be sure, opened a terminal windows in administrator mode and write "adb start-server" ---> "adb" is not a valid command....
- for be sure , opened a terminal windows with "minimal_adb _fastboot_v1.4.3" and write "adb start-server" ---> it work ! I write "adb devices" ---> nothing to see...
- I'm trying to change the usb cable with the TF300T cable ---> same problem
ok, it seems to be difficult to communicate with that android tablet.
Any ideas ?

Yes, it would be difficult since you cannot boot to
Android
recovery or the
bootloader
You only have adb access if the tablet is in Android or a custom recovery.
And you only have fastboot if the tablet is booted into the bootloader.
You cannot get it to either state. That's why I'm saying: The slate is dead. Sorry. And the advice to flash stock from a SD card is unfortunately dead wrong.
You need a new or used (but healthy) motherboard mate. That's all there is to it....

Hello,
So, i have much more questions and affirmations.
For Fredbzh ( vive la Somme ! )
- Etape 14 --> Nope, don't work and it seems now very difficult to obtain the Asus logo.
- Alternative method ---> Nope, don't work.
For Berndblb
You only have adb access if the tablet is in Android or a custom recovery.
And you only have fastboot if the tablet is booted into the bootloader.

Yep, nothing works. I search for a motherboard.
I find a lot of them, but, some says "be careful with the part number of the motherboard".
I need to disassemble the entire tablet to find it ? Or, can i find it with the serial number on the tablet ( for the mine : C80KAS013452 )
Thanks a lot guys.

Hello,
I recently receive the new motherboard, with 15 dollars for the customs...
Today, i disassemble the tf700t, install the new motherboard, and, a little problem :
- The new and the ancient motherboard have the same reference number
- the tf700t is full battery charge
- when i press the on / off button, i heard the buzzer, two times, and don't have anything on the screen ( outch ! )
- ok, i screw the motherboard, again, on / off, buzzer, and nothing on the screen ( outch again )
- ok, i disassemble the new motherboard, and re install the ancient ( with the screw ).
- on / off button, buzzer ( with a different sound, more metallic ? ? ), and nothing on the screen
- okay.....
- i inspect the connection with the screen, nothing is abnormal in apparence...
- testing without photo lens, camera lens and sound, no changes.
So what's happen ?
Maybe you shorted out the screen? Connect it via HDMI to a TV and see it it boots
power + Vol up what's happen ?
droid or not droid ?
I've noticed that in order to get into the fastboot menu/screen I have to hold the buttons for the entire time until the bootloader version pops up.
So;
1st press the VOL- (volume down) button and hold it down, then while continuing to hold VOL- press and hold the power button until you see the below screen.
If you do not get that screen, please post a picture of the screen to this thread.
NP
I was wrong in the combination of keys ... you are in the menu that I wanted. try "wipe" that clears the account. for this, it is necessary to use "vol-" or vol + '"
Your tablet is not dead. you have to reinstall Android.

Hello,
So after buying a hdmi cable, plugged on my tv :
- test with the ancient motherboard. No screen, just the buzzer.
- ok, install the new motherboard. No screen, buzzer and welcome asus !! ( happy )
For the screen, i see no scratches inside and outside, no impacts inside and outside.
For the connectors, the big one who looks like a big "S", is well.
The second connector, with two heads, have a big folding / crease.
Maybe it's the connector, maybe not....

Hello,
So, for no mistake:
- I plug the asus on my tv
--> When i press on / off button, i have the asus silver logo.
--> The language choice.
--> And no tactile response.
--> When i press on / off button with vol up, i have nothing on tv.
--> When i press on / off button with vol down, i have nothing on tv too.
--> I think, theses commands are not disponibles with the hdmi, outside the rom. I think...
- I have the tablet in my hands, not plugged on the tv
--> When i press on / off button, i have the buzzer, and nothing on the TFT screen.
--> I think also, no tactile response.
--> When i press on / off button with vol up / down, i have the buzzer, and nothing on TFT screen.
And now, the House m.d diagnosis :
--> When i disassemble the tablet, i forgot to disconnect the battery ( i discover that today )
--> Did is it possible to have the tactile response when the tablet is plugged on a tv ? With one of my old tablet, NO, very useful...
--> I see some folding on the orange ribbon who is connected to the digitalizer, this affect the tactile, not the TFT ?
--> I think, i reassemble the ribbons on the good sens. Internet pictures are always right, no ?
--> I have no TFT response, two solution for me :
- I blow out the TFT when i disassemble.
- The TFT ribbon have a problem. Which problem, i don't know...
Damn, it's a lupus ...
@nemekas, sounds like you screen is dead, when connected to a TV via the micro-HDMI you should have tactile response, do you have the keyboard dock? If your screen is dead you will need the keyboard to make any inputs into the tablet.

Hi!
First, greetings for best forum on pda i ever seen!
Now, my problem:
i have found an old navigator from navman icn 320 with intel processor pxa255 at 200mhz, sdram 256mb from samsung K4S561632E, rom AL008D90BA102 (spansion), screen LTP283QV-F02 (samsung 240x320 i think) fits too in Eten G500.
it has a sd slot and i have soldered a mini usb on the pcb.
the navigator just works fine but it has the maps very old (2004).
the problem is: i want to install win on it. i don't want a specific version, just one that works fine.
after one week of reading various forums and sites i decided to make my question here. hope someone will give some idea.
so, if i press power on and center buttons on the screen comes this thing:
Navman icn 320 (32MB RAM)
Primary Bootloader 3.20.0003
Built on Jul 29 2005 at hour...
Insert a SD into slot...
if i put into sd slot his original sd, starts to flash and after restart.
from what i've saw on duff.dk this nav don't have a real OS.
so the problem is:
how can i rewrite the first bootloader? what do i need to make it?
if a connect the usb at winxp, it tells me there is a unknown component without drivers.
not even under linux 2.6.28-15 works. linux see this navman with
ID 0a99:0002 , and it's stops. if i load navman module, it will load too usbserial-generic and it will say registered new interface for navman.
and that's all what i can do. on duff.dk says: on this nav only read it's possible.
if i will press power on and ok buttons, comes out a menu with various options - test lcd, sound and so on. the last option it say X Enable usb debug.
if enabled this option, with usb cable connected when turn on the power will come out for one second this:
Navman icn 320
Bootloader 3.24.1012 built on jul 29 2005 hour.....
Debug out USB detected
Switch off permanently from the maintenance menu
Press ESC now to cancel (NORMAL debug output)
if the debug it's disabled when connected to usb of the computer the nav will load the splash screen and after that hangs. otherwise, without usb cable loads the splash screen and goes ahead to search the maps on sd.
so, can i write the first bootloader in some way? can i backup the first bootloader in some way?
i'm disposed to sacrifice this navman and to waste about 100 euro to understand and make writing of the bootloader. where, which one bl, which interface i need an so on.
i need to know if it's possible to load the first bootloader from sd or usb, and if not which interface i need to do it (jtag maybe, if yes, which one).
i hope someone here will help me with some idea.
escuse my poor english.
thanks

not out of the box but maybe someone could make an app to do it. i have one of these cables so will plug it in and see what results i get.
for now you could try http://www.mymobiler.com/ as you can atleast output to monitor. (it works i use it)
Edit my cable had a 2.5 jack on the end not micro usb was getting confused, but connected via the headphones to tv anyway and it carries sound to the tv, obviously the phone is treating it like headphones are connected. i dont understand why they didnt include tvout via usb.
HTC Touch can send TV signal via USB, ¿ maybe is possible to use his drivers in any WM phone ?.

If anyone has a Micro-USB/TV-Out cable, ¿ can try it ?, and please, tell us if it works correctly.
This definitely won't work with the TG01 using the method specified on the other site. I've taken a screwdriver to my 'headphone adapter' and can confirm the socket on it is only 3-pole (Ground, Left, Right).
A 4-pole plug would just ground both poles of the furthest ring (usually connected to yellow) if you put it into the TG01 adapter. (for info, red is usually designated RIGHT, and is the very tip of the plug, white is LEFT and is the 'ring' in the middle)
If, however, the TV Out functionality is embedded in chipset, but disabled in software, then with a dedicated TV Out cable such as the one linked above, there is a chance that it would work. I must admit, I never thought I'd use it on my old Nokia N95, but I did - quite regularly.
So who's going to buy the cable and test it?

Unfortunately not straight off. I have just tried with my TG01 and a Samsung UTC-200M.BSTG microUSB to Phono Video out cable. It is possible to get audio through the TV set (seems just on one channel so far), but I've not been able to get any video. The video on the TG01 gets scrambles whn connected up - still a recognisable picture in Core Player, but heavily distorted, horizontal streaks and sometimes a green border to the left side.
I have also tried connecting to the PC using Pocket Controller Pro and found that while it has no trouble with the 'normal' TG01 screen, it doesn't seem able to display the video window from Core Player.
Perhaps someone who has a greater knowledge of the inner workings of video display can shed some light ?
It may of course be as simple as the TG01 not having some vital hardware components.
I will try contacting the Nuetools developer and see if they have any ideas.....
Regards,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Not sure if it's the same thing but in Coreplayer i have noticed that if you have a setting selected this sometimes causes the banding and green border to the left - see if turning this off makes the image clear :-
Tools >> Preferences >> Select Page >> Advanced
Untick 'Less Rotation Tearing (slower)' and see if this clears it up
Look forward to hearing the results!
Cheers
Paul
Paul,
Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't actually make any difference whether the 'Less Rotation Tearing' is checked or not in this case; however, I did have a look at the other Video settings and found that Video Output was set to Direct Draw. I've changed that to GDI and it seems more stable and no repeat of the green border / banding effect.
Unfortunately, however, despite cycling though all the video settings I can find, both in Core Player and NueCPL-TV Out I am still unable to get any video output to the TV via the uUSB cable. Both audio channels do work correctly via the white and red plugs.
I'm just about to try contacting the NueROM developer and see whather they can offer any further ideas...

I charged it with 2-3 different chargers, but doesn't even show the battery charging symbol onscreen.
My laptop (Lenovo E530, win7 enterprise edition) does not recognize ANYTHING (no connect/disconnect sounds, neither android device, nor usb storage).
I tried holding the power button for 20 sec......nothing happened.
I tried power and vol+/- and USB connect.....still nothing.
The young boy told me that:

Hello everyone
my Pipo suddenly decided not to boot anymore, so I went its BIOS and mistakenly disabled USB OTG feature.
Now it refuses even to let me browse within the BIOS to restore it (can enter BIOS but keyboard's not working), sadly unplugging CMOS battery for hours did not help so it must be in NVRAM or something like that.
Tablet has Intel dnx feature (enabled pressing both volume buttons) but not micro USB connector (only 4 USB type a, one of them is blue)
Tablet also has sdcard slot.
There's any known solution to reset BIOS ?
Sadly tools like CH341A and flashing its winbond 25 chip are beyond my skills

Hello people,
I bought a used TrekStor Surftab theatre L15 TFMTKAW01232 and the MT8163 in the hope that I can repair it.
The problem with the device is that it is not possible to boot and after pressing the Volume + and On button for some time, I get into the boot menu. Here I have the choice of recovery, fastboot, norma bootl. No matter which selection I make, the tablet remains dark and nothing happens next.
I got myself a USB-A to USB-A cable and searched for the original Rom and found it. When trying to flash it with the SP_Flash_Tool I get the error "ERROR: S_BROM_CMD_JUMP_DA_FAIL".
What I notice is that the device seems to stay connected via USB only very briefly. I have already installed several drivers and in the tool it also shows me
the connected device "MediaTek USB Port_V1633 (COM4 on)".
Do you have any other idea how I could solve the problem?
Hi,
could you help me please?
I have here same model as you mentioned for repair.
A reverse polarity power source was attached to it, which resulted in a burned chip.
That chip I am unable to identify because it was destroyed.
I am attaching a photo of the mainboard where I've marked the position of that chip.
Would it be possible for you to have a look at your board and take a picture of the chip for me?
I would really appreciate it!
Thank you!
