International warranty - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Does Google provide international warranty on pixel 2 phones?

TLDR; If you bought your phone in the US, warranty is US so you have to ship it back to the US and they'll ship replacement (including advanced replacement) to a US address.
I don't know if other countries offer advanced replacement.

This is not what's written there. The text says:
This Limited Warranty is only valid and enforceable in locations where the Phone is sold...

Note that it says "ln locations where the Phone is sold", not "in the location where the Phone was purchased". So that means you can claim your right for the limited warranty in every country the phone is sold.

Sure, you can feel free to argue legalese with them. I had to ship a friend's Pixel from Germany here to do the exchange.

If Google offers the phone for sale in a country it will warranty it in that country. If it doesn't offer it in that country you will have to ship it from and to the country it came from.
For example they offer it in India. So you would return it to Google India. That is "where the phone is sold".
If you buy it in Nigeria from the US website you will have to ship it to the US first. The US is "where the phone is sold".
That is how they have always done it. The wording is about where the phone IS sold, not where it is purchased. It refers to availability.

this..
if your country does have google store and pixel is available there then that means you get the warranty here
but if your country doesnt have the phone for sale on google store then you cant get warranty on that country
just like here in the philippines.. there is google store but no pixel 2 or xl
obviously if you purchase the phone from the usa or any country with pixel then you cant contact google store philippines because for sure its not even gonna show up that it is listed because in the first place its not even for sale in the philippines

When Google extended the warranty for 2 years, they also said that the phone comes with a worldwide warranty.
See post from VP of Product Management: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/forum/AAAAb4-OgUsFRyoLZZjXvo/?hl=by

does this mean that the warranty can now be enforced outside of country of purchase ?

Where to buy a n8000?

I am thinking about buying a N8013 but if I do buy a 8000 for the 3g capability, where is a good place to get one from.
Anyone have a favorite supporting store that they like?
Thanks

got mine in Germany from Amazon. Maybe you add your living place?

India it's n8000.
Yes you can order it from India but doubt any of the sites ship overseas
New Egg has them
I am in the USA.
Not seeing the 8k on Newegg, just the 8013.

Do not think 8k is launched in USA you only have the wifi version over there you will need to import it
I'd suggest getting it from Handtec or Clove in the UK. That's where I get most of my imported devices from. I got my N8000 from Negri because there wasn't a release date in the UK yet and it has a Brazil/Trinidad CSC and hasn't been updated from the shipping s/w. EU devices get much more frequent updates and have had as many as three compared to my none. It's 405 GBP ($652) all-in delivered overnight from Handtec. Since you're buying it from an authorized dealer in its country of intended sale the 2-year Samsung warranty will be preserved. But you'll have to send it to the UK at your own expense if it needs repair. If you buy it from Negri or Expansys-USA you'll have to send it to them for repair and they'll send it to one of their oversees affiliates who will have it repaired on your behalf.

Any unlocked Samsung mobile device that's sold in the U.S. is considered grey market and has no warranty because it's not intended to be sold here and can't be by an authorized reseller. Buying a Samsung device outside its intended country of sale and/or from a non-authorized reseller (CL/eBay/Amazon) means Samsung won't honor the warranty. Negri and Expansys-USA get around it by shipping their U.S. customer's devices that need repair to overseas affiliates.
This is what the link you posted says about warranty. I'm guessing the 90 days means NewEgg (not Samsung) will exchange it if it's becomes defective during that time.
Limited Warranty period (parts): 90 days
Limited Warranty period (labor): 90 days

Nexus 5 Warranty

Hi everyone,
I am thinking of ordering a 32GB Nexus 5 from here, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GD9R79O/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00GD9R79O&linkCode=as2&tag=warpwhistle-20 I was just wondering about Warranty if something were to go wrong with the phone can I return it to Google Play. How do I get it transferred to my name?
Warranty is done by lg if you didn't buy it from google play, and if someone bought it from google play and gave it to you as a gift its also done by lg... stupid if you ask me.
Its better to order it from Google play because you have a 1 year warranty if you need to RMA just call Google and they'll send you a new device then you send them back yours when you receive it. If you buy it from somewhere else you'll have to send it to lg and wait for them to fix it or send you a refurbished device.

Could I not just get the receipt from the seller and transfer it to me if they bought it on the Google Play Store?
I bought my Nexus from UK but I live in Bulgaria
LG Bulgaria will keep my warranty?
I called a Google rep and they said all the original buyer has to do is call in, give them their billing address, name, and the phone's IMEI. They'll confirm their information. Then the original buyer gives google your name, email, and billing address and they transfer the warranty to you.
All of this information was given to me under the assumption that I had received the phone as a gift. If you tell them you bought it off someone from Craigslist, I'm not sure if that would disqualify the warranty transfer..
I got mine on eBay and bought along with it a one-year warranty against malfunction, drops, theft, and loss for $75.
What is wrong with Google Play Store? Just order from there and save hassle if it comes to it.

Just try to think about outside of US. If you receive your phone as a gift from someone from another country, you need the warranty. It is a shame that Google is unable to provide worldwide warranty and stick the users to their location.
Other scenario is if you move away from the country you can screw up your google play store warranty.

[Q] Moto G international Warranty?

Have preordered Moto G 16GB version from amazon.uk and still waiting for it to deliver.
But would like to know if Moto G does have international warranty? I live in Sweden, so can I send it to Moto service center here in Sweden instead back to amazon uk for phone repairs within warranty issues?

As I'm in Estonia, I did ask also about warranty from Amazon, they replied:
For items sold by or fulfilled by Amazon, our 30-day returns guarantee means
that you can return an item to us in its original condition within 30 days of
the date you received it.
If the returned item is in its original packaging and condition, we'll issue a
full refund for the price that you paid for it. We will, however, also accept
the return of incorrect or defective merchandise which meets the guidelines below.
However, if your purchase is defective within a year, you may still be able to
return it for a replacement/refund as all electronic items purchased from
Amazon.co.uk come with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, unless
otherwise stated.
Since this item "Moto G 8GB Sim Free Smartphone - Black" comes under Electronics
category, it has one year warranty.
Our complete Returns Policy is set out on the Amazon.co.uk website. Read our
Help pages for additional information about Returns and Refunds.

The one year Manufacturers Warranty is in addition to your rights as an EU Consumer, which is a 2 year Statutory Warranty......
this EU Directive has been transposed into law in all EU countries, or already existed in effect in some.
In the UK, there is a six year warranty, under their Sale of Goods Act, which they claim is superior to the EU minimum protection you have mentioned.
It is good to know that Apple had to change the wording of their International Warranty in all EU countries in the past year, so as to comply with EU Consumer Protection Directives/Law....
If you purchased online from another EU country, you also have additional protection and rights under EU Law.
Check out the European Consumer Rights Site for your country.

Hope this helps!!

I just want to know if I can send here in Sweden for repairs and dont need send it back to amazon.uk for repairs. Not how long EU warranty it have.
Someone got a reply from Motorolas, that said since Moto G dont sell here in Sweden and need to send it back to amazon.uk for warranty repairs.
But if I look at Moto websites about Moto G warranty, Sweden is listed under warranty and there is also a Swedish manual. In the Swedish manual, it say under Service and repairs it says to contach Swedish Moto support center. For repairs to send it to Swedens Moto service center partner. So im abit confused, who do I send it back for repairs? Amazon.uk or Moto Sweden service partner center?

You bought from Amazon, not Moto Sweden.
Amazon is the retailer you have a contract of sale with. Consumer law in the EU is clear on this.
If you bought in a local store on your High Street, where would you go??
AFAIK, Amazon pays postage for returns in the event of faulty goods.
If you don't want info given, others might find it useful, it is a "public" forum.

I think I've heard in some review on YouTube that you can take any moto g with European warranty to any local Motorola service center. You should call a Motorola center and ask them directly.

I am in Estonia now and I have Moto G 16 GB which I bought it from India through online store FLIPKART on July 2014. But now the charger seems to be not working. Do we have motorola service center here in Estonia?

As you are using Internet to ask a question here, use it the same way and search for service center in google, yahoo or whatever search engine you prefer.
The search result may end up giving a contact number and/or email address.

Warranty on Nexus 5 bought in US valid in Europe/Austria?

I've already looked around here and elsewhere and have not found an answer to my question, but hopefully someone here knows the answer. Some quick background info:
I'm from the US but I live primarily in Europe (specifically Austria) and want to get a Nexus 5 for my girlfriend. Unfortunately I am a bit concerned about the warranty situation. Obviously Google will not honor the warranty on the device in Austria, but will LG? I haven't called LG's Austrian support line yet (since it's a Sunday) but perhaps someone here can let me know and help me avoid sitting on hold for who knows however long.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!
Hi, I've contacted Google in that case already.
The thing is: Google and LG warranty policy is not the same.
Sadly if you buy N5 from a GP Store you're stuck with a warranty available only in the country where you bought it via GPS. That is what they wrote:
"LG's policy is different than Google's Policy.
If you would like to utilize LG's repair services, you are more than welcome to do so.
As far as an advanced replacement from us, warranty replacement service from Google is only provided within the country from which your device was originally purchased.
Again, if you want to get your Nexus 5 repaired by LG you can do so but it would be at your own expense. "
I asked about sending device from my home country and if they will send it back:
"At this time, refund and warranty replacement service from Google is only provided within the country from which your device was originally purchased. Under no circumstances can we cover international shipping costs to return your device to the original country of purchase."
There is an option to "transfer" warranty to someone in US:
Or, if the warranty is still under your friend's name, since they were the purchaser, you can send the Nexus 5 back to them in the US and they can contact us about a replacement. If the warranty is not still under their name, you can send it to anyone you know in the US, and they can call us, and we can transfer the warranty to them. They can then take care of the replacement, and send you the new device once they have it.
When you buy a device from LG in EU, warranty is available in every country in EU, contrary to devices from GPS.
Hope it helped

Pixel 2 XL Warranty

Hi, I plan to buy a Pixel 2 XL in the UK and move to France. Will I be able to use my warranty in France or will I have to ship it back to the UK?
I'm confused because the VP of Product Management said it will be worldwide, or am I misunderstanding his statement?
Did anyone have any experience like this?
I can't post the link but here is the statement: support.google.com/pixelphone/forum/AAAAb4-OgUsFRyoLZZjXvo/?hl=by
Someone in France will have to go to http://g.co/pixelcare and check the location for warranty repairs. I'm in the Us, and only get US and Singapore for the 2 XL. (I only get the US for the 2.)
