[Q] [H] Trouble with Google Play after Jelly Bean - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, needing help with Google Play after Jelly Bean.
I updated it to the official Jelly Bean to N8000.
After it I did two reset factory, first time inside Android menu and the other with "power" and "volume +" buttons.
Gone through the initial settings and logged with gmail account.
Here's the point, I gone to Google Play to update the factory apps to the last version but there's no apps listed at all, not a single one. Even if Samsung Apps is already update by itself and listed on download apps on android menu, Google Play shows nothing.
Anyone?

Clear Google Play cache .

[Q] Serious Google Play Store Issues

I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible here so bear with me. So a few days ago I got my first android device, a refurbished Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Everything was working fine when I first got the device (including the google play store). I did a lot of research and ended up following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880010 to root and install CWM on the device. Cool right, everything still works (including the google play store). Next I decided I wanted to try out a custom ROM so I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202854 in order to install the PAC-ROM. Everything was working fine and I was really loving the new UI but this is when **** hits the fan. The google play store stopped showing me apps and when I could get one to show up through a search I was presented with a lovely "This item isn't available in this country". I followed some advice on XDA forums saying to clear the play store data/cache and reboot (tried this about 30 times). Nothing. Reset app preferences and clear all data/cache again. Nothing. Remove and re-add my google account. Nothing. Remove google account, reset everything, reboot, and add a new google account. NOTHING. At this point I'm getting frustrated so I decide to just do a factory reset and reinstall STOCK JB 4.1.1. NON-rooted following these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283598. NOTHING! When I open the play store I am presented an empty menu with a bunch of categories that have nothing in them. If I search for major apps like "Facebook" I can get to the app page but it says "This item isn't available in your country". I've tried about 10 google accounts now and to no avail. What's really weird is that I can't see the google play store on my Desktop computer either (both on the same wifi), its also a blank menu and If I search for a major app it shows me a few apps and most of them are in Chinese? What. The. ****. So, any ideas?

If it does, I'm having the same exact problem on a Kindle fire 2 running stock cm10.2
E: Oh, and this also started happening using the kf2 port of pac rom, if that means anything.
Very simple. The Play Store thinks you have a Chinese device and those are the only apps available for that device. Either install a new ROM or edit the build.prop in the system folder. I use Root Explorer which has a Text Editor built in. Change all the instances of the tablet model to the correct model. Save and reboot your tab and all should be well.
Do a complete wipe before you install a ROM if that is the path you choose.
nice info
Thanks
Well I figured out the source of the problem... my ASUS router. I had accidentally set the timezone to somewhere in the middle of the pacific ocean at -12:00 GMT when I'm actually in EST. I figured it out because on my girlfriend's wireless network my playstore worked absolutely fine (and she has the same ISP as I do). So after setting my router to the correct timezone all of my problem's were alleviated. :good:

Google play tablet problems!!!!!

Till yesterday everything was fine but today when I woke up and opened up google play,no longer can I see the 'designed for phones' tag below apps which are not optimized for tablets, cannot see the 'tablet highlights' section in the homepage of google play on my Galaxy tab 2 7 inch GT-P3100 stock ROM 4.2.2 not rooted. Is anyone else also facing the same issue?
I know that MX player is one of those apps which has the 'designed for phones' tag,but now it's gone(and it was not updated with a tablet inteface)
Also I tried to visit 'featured apps for tablets' section on google play with the help of google search through my browser and got an error of saying
'Error retrieving information from server. [DF-LA-01]'
Is this a bug or is google intentionally not recognizing my device as a tablet from now on?

Thanks for replying, what I did was I uninstalled all updates to google play which auto updated to the latest version within 5 minutes, that solved the problem and I could again see the 'Designed for phones' tag under non tablet optimized apps.

Google Play not working on Chuwi VX17HD Android 4.4 Tablet

I recently purchased a Chuwi VX17HD Android 4.4 Tablet PC 7.0" IPS 1024*600 Quad Core RK3188 1.6GHz 1GB RAM from dealsprime.com. It came preloaded with Google Play installed. I synced my Google account with it but it won't download any apps. I can navigate the store but when I click to Install, "Downloading" appears but it never downloads/installs. Help would be gratefully appreciated. So far I have tried the below but nothing seems to be working
Clearing Google Play Store/Google Play services app data/cache
Uninstalling Google Play Store and reinstalling the latest Google Play Store via an APK
Checked date and time are correct on the device
Set up a new Google account and added that account
Performed a factory reset of the device
Verifying Download Manager is enabled
Did you ever solve this problem?
I seem to have the same issue.

No I never solved the issue...very frustrating as lots of apps wouldn't work without being able to connect to Google Play.

Cannot Connect to Google Services

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" and have a problem with it, it cannot connect to any Google services (play store, maps, etc). I thought this was a connection problem but other apps that required internet are works (TuneIn Radio, Soundcloud, etc) like they should be. I also thought something wrong with Google Play Services, so I uninstall Google Play Services updates and everything is now worse, all google app required Google Play Services to be updated so I can't open any of them.
So far I have tried :
1. Rebooting the tablet
2. Remove and re-add Google account
3. Switch the time and date between auto and manual
4. Delete hosts file
5. Clear Google Play Services, Google Play Store and Google Service Framework cache and data
6. Reconnect wi-fi
Please help I don't want to factory reset my tablet

Are you running stock firmware or rooted and custom ROM? Some ROMs have problems with play services.

I'm running rooted stock firmware.
I also have tried to update Google Play Services with Firefox, but nothing happens when I tap the install button.

Google Assistant broken - please help

Hi all,
I'm in need of urgent help. About a week ago my Assistant just start instantly crashing Google App as soon as I summoned it. Let me give you a little bit of background:
The problem:
When I summon the Assistant in any possible way (squeeze phone, corners gesture, via Updates tab in Google App) the Google app crashes instantly and the Assistant is not usable.
OS running
I was running Android 10 Beta 6 when this started, but today after the official update to Android 10 the bug still persists.
Things I've tryed
- Uninstalling Google App updates and install them again via Play Store
- Unistalling Google Play Services and installing them again via Play Store
- Trying Google App Beta
- Factory Reset with backup restore
- Factory Reset setting the phone as a new device
Nothing seems to work. I've posted this in the Android SubReddit, I have send the bug to Android, but nothing...no one seems to know how to fix this. I hope someone in here may know what may have been happening and give a hand.
Thanks!
