Google input method before the change individual font but with no success
4. Updating System slow

Pre-upgrade considerations:
1: If the machine does not use exceptions, do not recommend users to easily upgrade
2: inside the machine before upgrading the audio and video files and backup apk, the upgrade process will machine everything inside the empty (Note: the pea pods backup can not save game progress)
3: user downloaded firmware package name and the figure below some of the file name is inconsistent
4: The first time you start to the system interface to unlock the lock screen too fast may not be able to unlock a little wait for the unlock (probably in about 10 seconds)

Step 1. Download and install PhoenixSuit
Step 2. Download firmware image from above link for your tablet and load it in PhoenixSuit. If you receive error in PhoenixSuit, you can try moving the firmware file to desktop. That worked for me.
Step 3. Enable USB debug in tablet's developer settings and connect to computer. PhoenixSuit will inform you of this and then it's just follow the instructions on screen.
Alternative Step 3. If this normal procedure does not work and/or your tablet is a little soft bricked. You can try the following:
-Unplug USB-cable from computer.
-Power off your tablet. (Holding the power button for approx 10 seconds if the tablet is locked/black screen after boot)
-Press and hold the Home-button on the tablet, and plug in the USB cable.
-Continue to keep the home-button pressed and click on the Power button very shortly (about 0,5 seconds) about 10 times.
You should see a new dialog box appear in PhoenixSuit asking you to perform a "Mandatory format"
- Select "yes" to enter the format upgrade mode.

Sure wish we get more of an interest here. With all the knowledgeable people in this community this tablet would surely show its potential.
wow so I am ready to make one order for this tablet hopefully by 6 days i can do a mini review,
anyone bought this already?
It looks very similar to Apple's Ipad.
Could I use an Ipad casing with this tablet?
All the casings I can find on eBay for this 'Spark' are very ugly.

It depends on the casing. If it's one of those that's "clipped on" the back, it won't fit. This does not have the same rounded off edges as the ipad.
Other types should work just fine.
I have this Universal 9.7 Inch Leather Smart Case
yes i'm talking about those with the magnetic clips that covers the front of the Ipad.. I hoped I could use them

Okay, those who are only attached on the side by magnet? Not sure about that one. Considering all the available space and ease of removing the back cover, I think it would be possible to make the side magnetic, if it isn't already. Then adopting the cover, if needed. Hopefully something similar will come to other tablet's with different edge than that of the ipad.
The plastic ones that goes one-in-one with the back was the one I was aiming at that won't fit. Like this
Thank You, but i'm looking for more elegant case.
"Cheese" are making a nice case for the "Ainol Hero".. Maybe I will buy the "Hero 2" instead of the "Spark" (just ordered it yesterday but I assume I can still regret)
Mine just arrived today. So far so good, the screen is awesome. The bad thing is of course the soc, but still usable

I will report the battery life later as it just arrived today. Wifi so far so good when I change the channel to 11. Btw I use wifi from tethering my one x.

Well I tried to cancel my order of this 'Spark' but the seller already shipped it.
I'm looking for about 8 hours of battery life with browsering and reading PDF's, so I think the best choice for me now, after reading a lot of reviews, would be the first 'Hero' (dual core model)m but i'm stuck with this 'Spark'.

Well if you don't mind the price different I think it okay for the spark as it has higher resolution display. Full gaming battery is about 5 hours

I don't mind about the price, but in the reviews it gets a bad ranking in battery time because of its high res screen (takes more power)
I would be happy to hear about your experience with the battery.

build-prop tweaks anyone?
Has anyone tried any build.prop tweaks?
I've changed manufacturer and model description to immitate Motorola Xyboard/Xoom 2 as it also uses SGX chipset. This went fine, it worked for some things, but still error 5002 on the Sims FreePlay. Most likely due to no support for the Spark's DPI. I tried setting it to 160 DPI (or perhaps it was 140, not 100 % sure). This caused a soft brick, but I was able to get it working again with the mandatory upgrade with phoenixsuit.
Has anyone had any luck changing dpi?
Edit:
I also changed the XML files as described HERE. It gave me acces to more apps in Google Play than emulating the Xyboard/Xoom 2. Still no luck on the Sims though.

Hey all!
ClarkDawg of prboom4android - Project Hosting on Google Code (or Doom4Android from awhile back)
Made a working Doom emulator that uses Freedoom (other wads can be applied, just not downloaded from the app). Unfortunately the version supplied on the project site has no way of shooting, strafing, etc, with touch only devices.
I downloaded the source yesterday and have successfully added controls to the app, so now it IS playable!
Install Instructions:
- Download App
- Click Install Wad's (if it errors, hit cleanup, then quit and re-open, then try again)
- Click Install Sounds (leave, re-open)
- Check Fullscreen (or not)
- Check Virtual DPad (will activate dpad and buttons)
Changelog:
1.1 Beta - Built off of 1.0Beta of prBoom4Android
- Has fire, use, strafe, enter, options and map buttons
- Strafe is a modifier, mean click it to turn on, and click to turn off
1.2 Alpha - Built off of 1.0Beta of prBoom4Android
- Has multi-touch controls!
- Higher resolution (640 x 400)
1.0 Beta of PrBoomX
- Multi-touch fixes
- Lower resolution to help lag issues (still pretty bad).
Known Issues:
- Kinda laggy at new res
- Controls are pretttty sensitive

How do i change weapons?
Weapon switching is coming later today.
Yeah have to use MY file. The project is the original project, my file is the modified one. As for the monsters being different, this is because the wad is 'freedoom'. Google kept pulling the version with the Doom 1 wad, even the shareware version.
If you have the wads I can tell you how to put them on to play the normal version.
Its not doom if the games different neway i took it of ur site this time but the wad doesnt download java io error something like tht
IT Supports DOOM. YOU need to provide the wads. The shareware version is out there free. Just drop it in your doom folder on the sdcard. Then select it before running.
If you are getting the error
- clear data
- close
- re-open
- install wads
- install sounds
- close
- re-open.
So how would I update it download the updated file download the file from your website?
Yeah, when I update it I'll put the latest on my site. I'm looking into Google Submission, since, with my next build this will be so different from the original source that I can probably release separately.
1.2 is coming...(look for it tonight!)
-Dual Sticks (one is strafe, move up/down; the other is turn)
-Sticks have a 'center press' event (move = use, turn = fire)
-Cleaned up screen
-Upped Resolution to 640x400
-Added in Weapon Selector 1-7
(Chainsaw/Fists, Pistol, Shotty, Coach Shotty, Chaingun, Rocket, Plasma, BFG)
-No more strafe modifier.
Currently Being Researched, Tested
- OpenGL Support
- Hi-Res WAD's (graphic packs, Doom 1, Doom 2 support only for right now)
Planned but not implemented/researched yet.
- Resolution Selector
- Better menu system
- Higher res design (current development res = 320x240, want to bring this to 854 x 480)
- Fix the wad selector
- Save/Load 'States'
- Fix game interruptions (right now alarms/calls exit the game, and no way to continue).
- And any more suggestions you all may have!
I'm very glad that this is coming along so nicely and quickly as well. I'll test out the new version tonight and let you know of any extra things that would be nice to have.
Thank you for letting me play my favorite game on the go.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
My pleasure. I've been waiting and waiting for a working Doom client for awhile, ever since they got pulled from the Market last year. They got pulled because of the wad's it was packaged with (apparently iD/GOOGLE had a problem with hosting Doom Shareware).
Then when I got the new one I was so mad to see the controls just not really even exist. Now, I'm not a Java developer (professionally), but I can read enough and determine enough to make changes.
I'm gonna actually branch this though, call it prBoomX, especially since I've heavily edited the GNU source.
I'm also looking into possibly using another Doom 'engine' from open source. prBoom is cool, but prBoom Plus is better (allows mouse look up/down, and more features). There are a bunch of open source engines like doomsday, zdoom, etc.
We'll see what the future brings, but for now I just want to get the controls perfect, then I can spend more time on the engine itself as it has (currently) numerous other bugs than just the controls (ex. Music cuts out after EP1M1 for Ultimate Doom, no grunt on use against a wall, reload sound for shotty, etc)
Any ETA for the update?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Ran into some bugs with the multi-touch code, and seeing as that's the most important part, I'm taking my time. Should be done in a few hours though
Ok =) don't rush it I'd rather it be good than fast.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Can't wait!
It is coming. Tomorrow. I promise. (gf was over and code takes a backseat sometimes). Also still stomping bugs, enhancing and cleaning up stuff too.
Here's some shots to get you salivating. (I'll even post the shareware wad on my site, as it's shareware, when I post the new APK)
EDIT:
As of 1.2 devices under 854x480 resolution will probably not work anymore until I code for multiple devices (and ultimately more resolution choices). I'm also really hoping to integrate with OpenGL ES with prBoom (built with OpenGL Enabled). That's still a dream right now, but after releasing the controls update it will be really be delved into.
Outstanding! Looking forward to the next update!

BACKGROUND
Hi,
more than 6 years ago (I was 18 to that time) I developed my first Android app which happened to be a blood alcohol calculator, because to that time I personally saw the need for a proper app for that matter, LOL (I'm a German, you know...). This project has grown over the while, and after I've had quite a long pause from working on this project (more than two years), I now refocused on it and brought my app into the year 2018.
AlcDroid is more or less popular in Germany, occasionally getting name-dropped in some German articles from newspaper media or whatever, especially now when it comes to Christmas and New Year and everybody's about to drink a ****-ton of alcohol. And even though Germany is not the only place where there's party at Christmas and New Year and stuff, it is less popular in other parts of the world though, so I would love to read what for example the English-speaking community has to say. This may sound a bit naive, since an alcohol testing app might be considered as rather simple and universal, but there are some things I do not know too much about, like units (fluid ounces and stuff), and while I have implemented those features in theory, I am not too confident about how they turn out in "real life".
So let's get to the fancy part of feature lists, download links and landing pages.
FEATURES
* intuitive, slick interface following Material Design guidelines
* day / night mode (dark and light theme)
* notification widget
* line chart showing blood alcohol content metabolism
* detailed stats (weeks, months, years)
* takes many individual factors like age, gender, height and weight into account
* supports presets for a fast and intuitive usage
* can be used immediately, no lengthy configuration needed
* supports different units in size, weight, drink volume etc.
* drinking history (keep earlier dates)
DOWNLOAD
* Find AlcDroid Alcohol Tester on Google Play.
* Find the app website here.
Cool! Gonna try this out today

Looks great!
Problem that I found is that I can't enter fractions into the percent field, and sometimes when adding drinks, the graph isn't updated, just when I try to zoom it.
Some suggestions:
The graph could be automatically sized, when changes made to the inputs, to be entirely visible, not to start in the middle, and actually see the end of it too. And it seems that the vertical axis has problems too. (after testing big values, it doesn't seem to reset to smaller scale)
On my display (SGS, 4", 480x800) the graph screen isn't displayed entirely, so it is scrollable. This way it's a little hard to pinch&zoom the graph.
Maybe moment of calculation should be movable by scrolling the graph horizontally.
The interface is nice, but could you make a dark version too? (for AMOLED screens you know)
Thanks for your replies.
I will add "fraction support" in the next version. I wanted to prevent the user from inserting higher numbers than 99 and thus limited the field to a maximum length of 2 digits - but now I also think that this is kinda unnecesarry and being able to insert fractions seems to be more important to me now as well. I can also make use of a InputFilter, though I think that this is not that relevant.
The graph yet is only vertically auto-sized (y-axis). I think of adding such a "auto-sizing"-function to the x-axis as well. However, the graph's main task is to give a rough overview of the "time management" in AlcDroid - to inform the user where the day "starts" and "ends" and to visualize where one can add drinks.
When adding big values the y-scale actually should go up to a maximum of 6‰. On my device this seems to work flawlessly. Can you make a screenshot of the bug on your device?
And are you serious? You are able to scroll through and zoom into the graph? Actually I thought that I disabled those features... well, I'll have a look on it again.
Adding a dark interface shouldn't be such a big problem as well, I will think of adding this sooner or later.
Thanks again for the feedback and the suggestions!
Actually I was considering the max 6‰ of the Y axis an error. I entered a vast amount of alcohol for testing. The calculated value went up to 32.72‰, but the maximum of the curve was still at 6. As it does on your screenshot as well. But I guess that's not a real use case Considering that according to the description, even 4 can cause death.
And yepp, although it's extra hard because the scrolling of the whole layout, I can zoom vertically and horizontally too. Scrolling was only a suggestion.
I finally could motivate myself to continue working on AlcDroid again. You can now enter float values into the percent fields. And I added a dark design, though this was maybe the most unnecessary feature to add. Maybe TotalD3str4ct can check out out himself if he even reads this. I also fixed a few small bugs and added a new button.
I think I am now going to continue working on this app more frequently again. There are still quite a few things to do.
I made a huuuuuge update today. Check it out. I hope, there are not many bugs left. If so, please help me find them.
Push. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Dark theme is a necessity to me. I try not to touch apps that don't have one. Plus in the club, the dimmer the screen, the better.
I made a mini update yesterday. Fixed a small bug, improved a few things and finally made a paid ad-free pro version for AlcDroid.

Dark theme now available. Test it now.
(Graphic bug from the delete button corners is a Android problem which is fixed since Android 3.0.)
Did a (quite huge) update again.
What's new:

- more than one day support: archive and review your drinking history
- more information: see some detailed stats about your drinking history
- more beautiful: improved dark theme
- more up-to-date: notification bar widget
... and more.
Take a look at the new dark theme directly compared to the old from above:

[APP] TenInchLauncher - Get 10" apps on phone & 7" tablet! [4.2 w/o SU, 4.3 with SU]
Description
This app allows you to run apps on your phone (experimentally) and 7" tablet as if you have 10" tablet!
No more YouTube without related videos, no more phone-ish Play Store. All you have to do is tap the application shortcut. The display settings will be reverted as soon as the application is closed or hidden. Enjoy!
Also, unlike with all those DPI changers and switchers (such as LCD Density Modder that soft-bricks Jelly Bean devices), no root is required on Android 4.2 (but on 4.3 it is) and no brick can happen. If you experience any issues, just reboot your device and you are good to go.
This was built for Nexus 7 specifically, but should work on any device with Android 4.2+ as well.
Here are some examples (before and after):
YouTube
Google Play Store

On Google Play
Changelog
Code:
1.5:
- New option added to enable 10" mode automatically on device startup
- Added Android 4.3 compatibility for rooted devices. I am terribly sorry, but Google has made some changes and there is no way to do it without root anymore. But do not worry, it is still 100% safe. No brick risk included.
1.4:
- Experimental phone support. Get tablet YouTube on Nexus 4 and others!
- Initial 30% off sale for (not only) phone users
1.3:
- Global 10" mode was improved, so launcher icons should no longer overlap
- Dramatically improved reliability of Quick launch apps and Shortcuts cleanup, so it shouldn't get stuck in 10" mode anymore
1.2:
- Added option for those who have experienced keyboard issues
- Huge first week sale is now on!
1.1:

Any way for this to work on a phone, to make it think we're on a 7" or 10" tablet?

Well, I have no device to test it on, but if you are willing to test, just try it .
Oh, it seems that TenInchLauncher has its first review . Google Translate needed .
AW: [APP] TenInchLauncher - Get 10" app layouts on your 7" tablet! No root required!
Can you explain what this app do?
I mean, what do you modify?
Only the dpi?
Wondering that's not require root.

Well, check the screenshots on the top . Some apps have richer layouts for 10" tablets than they have for 7" ones (I made this mostly because of YouTube, which sucks big time on Nexus 7). My app allows you to use the better layouts on smaller device with almost zero effort. That's it .

Why just for anddoid 4.2
Could you make it for android 4.1

I would like to use in [email protected] Already have CM10.1/4.2 out but I still prefer 4.1/CM10
Ty.
Unfortunately, the methods I use are only available on Android 4.2. Maybe I can make some root enabled version for older Android, but cannot promise anything.
First update is up!
Changelog
1.2:
- Added option for those who have experienced keyboard issues
- Huge first week sale is now on!
New update is live and kicking! Unlike this thread . Also, last day of huge first week sale is coming up. Don't miss it!
Changelog
1.3:
- Global 10" mode was improved, so launcher icons should no longer overlap
- Dramatically improved reliability of Quick launch apps and Shortcuts cleanup, so it shouldn't get stuck in 10" mode anymore
With the global Setting on the Nexus 7 the status bar is a bit cropped(as you can see on the clock and icons on the top right )
When you open the notifications panel, the statusbar is not cropped anymore because it covers a little whatever app you are

I'm still working on this. The status bar is a ***** . As well as the navigation buttons. But I beleive I'll find a way.

Re: [APP] TenInchLauncher - Get 10" apps on 7" tablet without root! [LAST DAY OF SALE
A pity it don't work in my RAZR Maxx with ICS. It should be of great use when I use it on Webtop 3.0 mode in my TV via hdmi 1080p.
Some apps opens in webtop mode in the same way as it opens in phone mode.
Your app could solve it.

I have finally got myself the Nexus 4, and here is the the result!
Changelog
1.4:
- Experimental phone support. Get tablet YouTube on Nexus 4 and others!
- Initial 30% off sale for (not only) phone users
Not sure if this app requires root, but if it does, there may be a better alternative.
The xposed framework mode has a module for app specific DPI setting which may be a better solution for those of you who want for e.g. the youtube app to always be at the 10" display mode. It is also reversible.
However, I must say this app is great for a myriad of other uses, the most prominent that comes to mind would be for app testing.

TenInchLauncher does not require root, and is not invasive in any way. That's why I made it. I have previously soft-bricked my tablet multiple times by using root-powered apps, and I just got pissed .

The UI should scale well on most devices, if not please do tell.

Yes. it does need time to get used to.
Sorry for bumping a rather old thread.
I just pushed an update with a bonus level and other changes.
This deserves more views.
@llxaot Definitely.
Nice game. Too bad you don't have more action in this thread.
Just discovered this yesterday. It's a really great game!
And I'm also getting used to the controls. Just one exception - in the tutorial level when jumping from platform to platform - it often seems to me the jump button doesn't react - is this my fault? Or happens this maybe already when any part of the marble is no more above on the platform - i.e. not only when the middle of the marble is no more on the platform?

Appreciate the support guys! thank you

Hi,
Your game is pretty funny. Did you use Unity to make it ?
Thanks

So another question: Just had to replay level 5 because the game hadn't remembered I already had completed it. Well, was fun anyway
But isn't the stars saved immediately when you complete a level? So, e.g. switching to the home screen and the game being purged from RAM would save the stars permanently right when you finished the level.

I used the Proton SDK
Which has a fully functional port of the Irrlicht 3D engine

Actually.. at the moment, progress is saved to device storage only when pressing the exit button in the main menu.
I got quite a few complaints about this, so will probably change it in the next update.
Thanks! Just another small question: At level 6 it would be handy to be able to move the camera/perspective also vertically not only horizontally. Is there a way to do this or is it part of the challenge to not be able to?
Edit: Everything's fine with the perspective
Sent from my Lenovo B6000-F using XDA Free mobile app
I set an ideal vertical camera alignment individually for each level. So players don't need to worry about that.

I got quite a lot of complains about the jump button being unresponsive sometimes. I have completely reworked the jump code, so hopefully there won't be any issues now.

Root tutorial:
Install adb / fastboot drivers for the tablet
– Try this version first . 1.3 – http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 If it doesnt work . ( Like for me use 1.0) http://adbdriver.com/downloads/. Should work on windows 8.1 and windows 7
– Enable USB debugging and leave tablet on.
– Download SuperSU (http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu)
– Download IntelAndroid-FBRL (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722644693)
– Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip to the tablet
– Uncompress IntelAndroid-FBRL on your computer
– Launch “launcher.bat” from IntelAndroid-FBRL folder ( Screen will be cyan if good )
– Type “ACCEPT”
– Check if device status and device information are OK, ( Screen should be cyan if ok and red if not. Refresh status by hitting enter. Remember if you get device status as unauthorised then go back to tablet and grant access. Screen will go cyan after if approval is given ) then type “T3″ the script will run . I got a fail at one point but it still booted in CWM.
– The tablet should reboot in fastboot mode, and after another auto-reboot, CWM recovery should show up
– Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip
– Wipe Cache . ( Can take a while be patient. )
– Reboot !

Thanks for this guide. Is there any alternative to the stock rom? Like Cyanogenmod or Miui? Can you also make a guide to restore to factory conditions? Thank you very much
As of now there isn't any Lollipop build for the device and I don't think it will be.

What is the reason for no rom? Intel does't released the kernel sources?
Sent from mTalk
Do you have a custom rom for Hi8?
I mean for example RemixOS, MIUI with multi-language.
Hi, my chuwi hi8 does not power ON and charge, etc. It just went down when I let it charge overnight and it does not turn ON anymore? Is there any thing that I did something wrong or maybe it any way that can fix the problem?
I already tried battery reset " remove solder of the red wire, wait and plug in the usb cable to see for direct power but unfornately nothing's happened. Return the red wire again but still no use.
Please help, I love this tablet but it appears to be of no use no more.
Thank you....:crying::crying:
