Ok so I realized I posted in the wrong forum. How do I delete the post.. Lol..
OK I need an app developer or a Site that can find one.. I was turned to a pro developer site that quoted me thousands of dollars. If anyone can direct me to a site where I can find a decent priced developer I'd be greatful thanks

No, no, that's actually a valid question. It's hard to search for this kind of thing unless you know EXACTLY the right thing to search for. Believe me, I've been looking to hire another developer on two of my projects for months.
So far, I can sort of recommend vWorker. I haven't seen anything pan out from it yet, but here's hoping; it's gotta work better than looking potential candidates up individually.
I would search out the developers forum closest to the device you want to test it out on, then look for a experienced active developer...
Ok so as some of you may know development for the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G is taking off somewhat and yet XDA is ignoring our requests for a forum in favor of devices that aren't out yet and devices that nobody much has heard of... I am posting this to ask anyone who remembers how long it took the Doubleshot to get its own forum as well as to ask my former community to help US out. (In other words... could y'all hit up the new forum request page and thank our posts/ bump the relay lol? (If this is against xda rules I apologize) or if anyone knows someone who can expedite this situation we'd all appreciate it.
Btw update - anyone wants my DS pm me, flex cable is failed and currently I have disassembled it while grounded and yes I'm tech savvy enough to not fry components. Idk how much to ask but make an offer lol.

Maybe XDA has a personal issue with phones with QWERTY keyboards.
We encountered this issue on my previous qwerty device also and believe me we almost got top 2 on the voting thread for new devices yet till now it still don't have any forum of its own. I already asked and the reason why it didn't get its own forum was not because of the lack of the community but instead the lack of real developers to support the device. To quote what the mod I talked to he said that
"XDA-developers" is a forum made for developers. Having even a thousand active members on a specific device but only have a handful of developers won't make it eligible for its own dedicated forum. As much as we'd like to provide every device it's own forum we also consider the cluttering of the forum itself so we are just narrowing down the devices on which we could get more active development than a forum full of average user questions.
Guys try www.sdx-developers.com its a Samsung hacking site

That's the only thing we can do. I've contacted quite a few mods, and they all told me the same thing. Post in the forum. Sorry, I tried but there's nothing else i can do to expedite the process. it seems that they will only open the forum when they see fit.
@strapped, no offense, but that site seems kinda dead. Just like rootzwiki. Xda will create a thread for you guys eventually. I don't see the point in fragmenting the device across two sites. Keep at it

The scotsman messaged me back in response to a question I asked and his reply was that the decision is made by forum owners and admins over his head based on development potential of the device.
Now that, my friends, seems to be a bit of a debatable point doesn't it lol?
That being said - does anyone remember how long it took the DS to get a dedicated forum?

Well either quit *****ing about xda not making y'all a thread or try to go to sdx. A lot of guys I have dealt with are from sdx. But lemme guess its a popularity contest? Y'all are a trip wanting more then what's needed, and that's just a place to call home, I'm so glad I decided not to get that device as I see most of this community will be.

1. I'm not *****ing. I don't even have this device
2. It is a popularity contest. Xda has way more devs and exposure than the site you mentioned. Do I want more than what's needed? Of course. Who wouldn't?
3. Everyone buys a device for X reason. Avoiding a device because of the users is your choice. No one cares if you don't get this device
4. You mad bro?

1. If not *****ing then why not go somewhere that could potentially give a home for that device....on a Samsung hacking site.
2. Popularity? Really, being popular has nothing at all to do with development. The best dev in the world could have this device and with no home, no one would ever know. So wouldn't you rather risk it? I personally post on themikmik sdx and xda.....why more advertisement
4. Is just a personal choice because of what I see in these threads.( device and slider related in general)
5. Mad nah not me, I'm getting the N4 as soon as I save my allowance ( joking )
You got my first morning post and yes I'm tired of sdx getting played. I learned so much from them guys and a few of them brought straight cm code into Sense for a first ever seen mod that everyone uses now. So I don't agree with xda being the holy grail of hackers and only thou can come here for their needs. Xda has really stopped caring for the average user and ONLY CARE ABOUT AD REVENUE and having the devices they feel will get them the most.
So I do wanna say "I'm sorry gtmaster303". Never meant to sound like the shot was at you when it was meant for xda. They need to see and realize their not the only place to come for hacks anymore, so stop treating us like kids and only giving us what XDA wants. Thanks. Although I don't agree with you completely, it's good to know you didn't go rogue on me all of a sudden. If xda wants ad revenue, they would be creating ads for every device out. Although I don't understand why they won't readily create a forum for a device that clearly needs it. I don't agree with their logic. If there's even one dev for a device, a forum should be made. That's like saying "we'll only host the most popular of devices." By that token, popularity should not ensue. And under that jurisdiction, technically the Doubleshot shouldn't exist here either. Our community is quite small, even for a dev community. Most of the daily page hits xda gets from us are the same couple dozen people, some of which login multiple times per day (because they have no life, myself included )
But popularity of the site is still necessary. not that many people know about sdx. When they look for a new phone to buy (devs and modders alike) most will come to xda and poke around to see if the activity is up to their liking. If not, they'll probably search for a new device. Main reason why I haven't switched over to a Captivate Glide or a Droid 4...

I must be weird then as I bought my device because
1. It was the closest thing to a G3 on the market and
2. I was (and still am) angry with and done with HTC after the lack of ICS on the doubleshot.
Oh and 3. My DS died;(
Nonetheless if we decide to move to that other site I'll have to get an android app for it lol.
I'm growing disgruntled with XDA lately but its kinda like a drug for me... and strapped... this device stock is just about equivalent to my ds when it died with regards to ease of use and overall response. I DO miss a trackpad and the home button lags just a bit... but that could be me having an aftermarket launcher with touchwiz frozen but not uninstalled.

I understand some of the reasoning behind it but even if they were becoming too big to find information, someone could just post their region specific question in that thread and one of the regular visitors would help out. Saves another new thread being started. Plus they are a great way to track regional changes and progress of the life of the gs4 in a specific country, if you has time to read start to finish.

Then say that, not rhetoric about being banned. In response to clutter, far better have region specific threads than new ones each time one provider gets updated and another doesn't, or three threads excitedly taking about a new gs4 model released in a certain country. It does the exact opposite of clutter

if cluttering is the issue then it can be put into a rolling sticky inside a single thread isnt it?
Its advantages overcome the disadvantages to be frank, say for example
*if i were about to ask a question related to free sview covers samsung is providing in india where should i ask for the progress ,status and opinions?
* if a service provider in india has issues with s4 , say its temporarily down where can i ask for the opinion, status etc?
* If there is a new user coming into the thread and if he/she can see their country thread they feel like home and they can ask for questions or atleast move a bit social.
More can be said, but i dont want to make it biggy , I still beleive the moderation commitee will have fair hearing once again. But whatever the final verdict, its upto them to decide
+1
For bala (and continuing further )...
I used to go directly to Indian Offic.....thread to know the updates, accessories, availability, roms, and other regional info ...but now after closing these ...i am feeling stranded.....
...
Please suggest me if i want to know/discuss about the exact price of galaxy s4 in India/Australia/Etc ..then where should i go......if i am planing to visit UK THEN wouldn UK specfic thread be more useful to clear doubts... ...or in such conditions should i open new topic for this???...no way
I think ...after this action...there is more chance of new threads to be opened for small querries..every second..this may cause more cluttering which will need more thread cleaning process...
I Politely request Moderators to consider little bit attention about my opinion...
Thanks XDA & @LL
Please re open the Brazilian Thread.... We change a lot of useful information there!
Thanks!

This!! This alone made the region specific threads worth it. Please bring them back
You only have to look at the numbers of replies in the Ireland/UK topic to understand it was heavily used where a number of members would come to find out any info on their area phones.
I personally found it of great value and am very surprised it was closed without any other topic of it's kind being brought into use....
The trouble is by closing this one single topic it will in turn now create many, many other topics of greater problematic use.
I've owned all the Samsung models (S1, S2, S3, S3 4g and now S4) and country specific threads have been around for all of them.
I followed the Aussie threads for all those models. It will be a pain now searching for all Aussie related info. One thread will now become a hundred.
Why this decision now?

We are not support site...developer site.so for me simple..for new bie..dont ask for support from xdadeveloper s4 threat...moderator dont like to support....Remember that.
If no support..you must be a developer to join s4 threat because s4 threat no more for new bie.its a developer site only..Remember that.
I know i ll be banned because my statement but android itself open source..so for me moderator must thinking how xdadeveloper become popular...because all of us.
Can i ask s4 moderator...why other model moderator keep region specific threat and only s4 moderator do this...Many voice vs 1.think about it.if all moderator from all model keep the threat and making xdadeveloper more popular why some of you try to ruined it with the power given.....
Remember...you also new bie when 1st joined xdadeveloper.

even a better idea is to create a google group discussion for each country and we can do the talking there... (im sure all of us has google accounts)
then create a sticky thread here with the links to all google groups discussion thread for each country... and we can communicate better since we can talk using our native language..
i just made a test group HERE and see if it works for me and my fellow Filipinos and use this as a Philippine S4 thread aternative...
maybe other people can follow suit and see if this works for them too..

I have been starting to compile a list of ROMs that are not found on XDA for the clark (Pure/Style)... Note that due to some of the authors preference, there are no threads here, so out of respect this is just a pointer, not a discussion or support area for these ROMs, please use their official areas.
Here is a couple, know of anymore???
BrokenOS - Download link removed per BrokenOS FAQ
ZephyrOS - Downloads
NOTE: This thread does not supply links to ROM builds if it is specifically requested by the ROM owner, and we do not provide support for any ROM, or even reviews, it is just a reference to point you in the right direction to take care of things yourself. Do not PM me or any other person here about these ROMs. The owners of these ROMs do not post them here for a reason, this is just a reference so you can find them and it is not my intent to circumvent their reasons for not posting them here, or question their reasons.
BrokenOS may not appreciate you linking their ROM on XDA.
See attached pic.
It's what I run and their Google+ page is pretty particular about this.
I've never tried the Zephyr you linked.

No, of course not... But many users of XDA are unaware of any these ROMs or how to look for them, or even if they should. My point is not to support or discuss these ROMs, that is best left for their official channels, but to make users aware there are options outside of XDA because many users think XDA has everything, and although it is a great resource, it is hardly all encompassing.

This is not a thread to discuss or even review these ROMs, its only purpose is to make users who wouldn't otherwise know, aware of their existence.
It is a topic I tread lightly with... I do not want to step on people's toes but many people would never know some of these existed unless referred to somehow.

And those are the people the developers went out of their way to exclude.

Actually, I don't think that's the case... Some developers just dislike XDA.

It's ridiculous in the first place to publicly release a rom online and expect to keep the community limited. Obviously people will find it and share it on other more popular sites.
If these developers really wanted full control over their userbase their roms wouldn't be easily found through google searches.
It's on Google Plus. Available to anyone with a Google account.
They aren't hiding their ROM's from the public.
Not everyone likes XDA's rules and regulations.
I've been upset with XDA myself but never enough to leave.
Developers have even more strict rules to abide by and some dev's leave for various reasons.
XDA isn't the only Android community you know.
ROM development goes on at plenty of other websites.
I'm not sure why some of you don't understand that.
I'm not pointing at the OP btw, I for one appreciate the thread intentions.

Btw, I trust ROM's from XDA more than other sites, specifically because of XDA's strict rules about open sourcing, etc.
I'm only on Broken ROM because I'm familiar with the team's development for a long time.
Otherwise I would not run any ROM from any other site.
Keeping your development closed source is not automatic grounds for suspicion but it does make a person wonder.
Someone asked for a review of Broken.
To someone who knows nothing about developing (me), it's 99% the same thing as Dirty Unicorn's ROM but uses the newer version of Layers instead of DU's CM theming. And it has more built in themed stuff. But options-wise it's very similar.
I won't talk about performance, battery or stability because it's all subjective and XDA does not like that type of comparison discussion because it's stupid and I agree with that.

My impression is that the average IQ of XDA has dropped precipitously over the last few years, making threads here a never ending stream of the same, usually stupid, questions.
I wasn't aware that the rules here were particularly restrictive.
This thread is a nice idea, but if I was a dev running away from the general populace here, I'd be pissed at someone redirecting their numbskullery at me.

If a dev wanted to control who knows about, or talks about their ROM it would be easy... A site that requires a login and approval by them. I know of some of these "ghosts", but I won't link them (it wouldn't apply to this device anyway).
The two I linked are easy to find... BrokenOS specifically requests not to have their ROMs linked or distributed on any other site, and I did not do this, that is the only request I found, and their builds are clearly available on AFH. Zephyr OS is all over XDA, just no thread for our device, but someone is building it and I ran across it in AFH we'll browsing the Clark section.
These are good roms that the average user wouldn't know of otherwise, and if a legitimate rep for either asked for it to removed, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Can't disagree with the general quality or apparently low IQ of many new users, when a simple search would answer many of these questions.

There is an unofficial Telsa build on Ground Zero ROMs G+ page in the unofficial section from about 6 weeks ago, but it looks like it had some issues and was never cleaned up or finished. Too bad, Tesla/Tipsy/Validus are great ROMs and super stable.
Paranoid Android is weird... years ago there were once builds for everything and it was often used as a base ROM for other builds, but now they have about 25 official devices and other than that I don't know, their website is pretty bad and there are no unofficial build listed at all, definitely no Clark build so far.
I don't think either is worth linking in the first post.
Is this broken rom decent? Not trying to read 5000 pages to find out general info about this ROM
I just downloaded and flashed it tonight. So far so good. Only thing I miss is ad blocking for YouTube. Other that it's very smooth and has advanced lte.
