How to Defeat Apple... The Innovative Way - Android General

Pissing Me Off
I've been lurking the HTC Facebook & I'm just tired of their bull****. Cancel of Desire HD ICS has put a big X on them by many customers. Don't even get me start on the way they've let us deal with these bugs of 3 dot menu, auto focus issues, yellow tint, overheat, & MULTITASKING. HTC is pissing me off with this crap. I've simply devised a plan to solve all our issues, which I will get to later.
Apple
We all know Apple poses a serious threat with fanboy and stolen ideas... We know this, but Apple also supports their crap. I hate Apple to the core, but they care about their phones. They all get upgrades... Unlike our ****ty upgrade policy & it doesn't depend on carriers. Apple isn't at the mercy of the carrier bull**** like we are. That's the main 2 problems with Android... The carrier bottle neck & timely upgrades. Still, Apple blows with a dull ass ui.
HTC, Motorola & Samsung
We all know the strengths & weaknesses of the big 3 here. HTC has excellent build quality & Sense is beast (to me), but it's a resource hog & HTC is not too damn dev friendly. Let's not forget hboot1.5 & the thousands of different phone models they release every year. Samsung has cheap plastic devices, horrible radios, a ****ty UI, BUT always have top of the line specs. You can't say I'm wrong there. Samsung has always somehow trumped HTC & Motorola with specs. Motorola is just garbage to me, but the have the best radios hands down. They also have the beast battery inside the Razor Maxx.
Defeating Apple... With The Nexus
It's the only way at this point... But we need the help of the big 3. Pure Android, with timely updates, is the sure fire way to stop them. Google can't build the phone tho... So this is what needs to be done. We need to take all the strengths from the big 3 & use them against apple. The build quality from HTC, the specs from Samsung & the radios & Razor Maxx battery from Motorola is all we need. Google can focus on software & firmware updates alone. We will also need Google to prevent carrier bottle neck & the addition of bloat. Google should also NOT let them brand the Nexus. Apple isn't bloated or branded with sprint bull****, the nexus shouldn't be either.
Promotion
Plain & simple Apple wins here, but we can stop them. Google needs to promote like hell. Apple lies in advertising, but we can beat them with facts. The Nexus needs to be promoted so much, even when you sleep you see advertising.
Dev Community
No doubt this phone should come s-off with no bootloader locked. You should be able to flash everything from the phone itself except the stock recovery the phone comes with. You should only use adb 1 time to push a custom recovery. If this isn't possible... Take the HTC approach, but tweak it. Kernel source, drivers, etc will all be available DAY 1.
The Name
Well, the name of the next Nexus should be decided upon by me. Since my game plan here will destroy apple... I think it's more than fair. I've come up with 5 names... No other way:
1. Kao Nexus
2. Transcendent Nexus
3. The Nexus
4. Nexus 5
5. Nexus X (for extermination of Apple)
This is what should be done. Any thoughts?

I can 'positively say', this thread should just be locked before hell breaks loose.

*has nothing nice to say, so says nothing*

This is why the site is going to poop. None of my ideas can stop apple? The Galaxy Nexus isn't advertised like it's supposed to? If we take all the positives from HTC, Sammy, & Motorola... We can take them down. With a super dev friendly Nexus & source ready to go day 1... How can the next Nexus device not beast apple?

Your ideas are talks of getting rival companies to just put their differences and own business strategies aside to *win*. Seems to resonate of 'fixing' the Middle East...
And your question of, "how can the next nexus device not beast Apple?"
Answer: Because regardless of what you may think would be best, cell phone consumers are going to buy their next phone due to personal preference. Whether that preference is familiarity (as apple holds the title for: unchanging ui). Or cutting edge hardware, or software.
No company can put out a device that flat out everyone is going to love. And putting out a 'perfect device' would boost their short term incomes, but hamper long term due to, "why buy another device if this one is perfect?" That's just bad business strategy.

You think the site is going to hell becasue nobody agrees with your unrealistic ideas to take down apple? Nothing will "take down" apple. Do you think that when android sells more devices than apple, apple will just dissapear? Because they already are, and last time I checked, apple was still around.

Well, still, imagine what the next Nexus will be if HTC, MOTOROLA, & Sammy combined all 3 of their strong points together in one device powered by pure Google Android. That would be amazing. Excellent build quality, powerful specs, awesome radios & Razor Maxx battery is a dream device. Not to mention the unmentioned things like Gorilla Glass 2, Super LCD2, image sense chip of course (thanks HTC), 4.7 inch screen... Super dev friendly with source & drivers day 1!!!!! Jizz on screen bro... Jizz on screen if this came to be.
Naming it Kao Nexus is just a bonus & show of gratitude to me.

And no one would use it, because 97% of the users out there don't WANT 'pure google', they want Sense, or Touchwiz (I refuse to believe anyone actually WANTS 'Blur').
What's perfect to YOU, isn't perfect to most of the consumers who could give a damn what android or apple is doing as long as the device meets their personal criteria.
I think you overestimate the numbers of people that care about unlocking and customizing their phones. It's really close to 2-3%. Most people just want to turn the phone on and have it work.

Nexus S envy?

Why does the Nexus S seem to create such strong opinions that people feel the need to come on here and put it down and bore the pants off us about dual *yawn* core and the latest handsets? Is it misplaced inadequacy or are Nexus S really that bad?
First off, the Nexus S is a great device. I think the polarization factor comes from two directions, first is envy. The second was this vision that the Nexus device should be this flawless god of phones. It is not, it is a dev phone, a playground for people to experiment with, and most people don't really get that.
its bassically a Googles test rabbit or rat.
I haven't seen any negative topics about the Nexus S for about a month now. Maybe about certain aspects of Gingerbread, but that's it. You should have been here when it was first released. Man, it was annoying. As Kah-Neth said, some people think a Nexus S phone is the god of all phones or have to set a new standard for other manufacturers to follow.
IMO, NFC is going to be a standard which will be implemented in other phones soon enough. New processors such as dual cores isn't much of thing to set a standard for since a 1 ghz single core processor is good enough.
You missed the "Nexus S shines against the...." thread. Apparently there are people out there who dont even own an NS and whose sole purpose for posting on this board is to call us fanboys because we dare discuss on a NS board how the NS is a better device than these "superior" DC phones like the Atrix.
Seems to me that envy must play a part...if it was not out of envy for a high end, latest Google running frankly awesome device like a Nexus, certain people would be on the HTC wildfire forums or something droning on about how low end that device is (no disrespect to wildfire btw).
Seriously though, instead of being jealous, just save your pennies up and buy a second hand nexus S
Honestly I dont see why people envy this phone. I would have been content with keeping my g2, I feel like support between the g2 os and gingerbread is equal because we dont have alot of support as far as this os. This is why I'm currently in the move of trading for a iphone 4 they have constant updates and support whereas we are still waiting for support from skype who keeps backing out as well as other things that should be mandatory with the phones launch. When people see the phone I have they are more excited than me. I guess cause I'm rom'd out and dont have anything else to do with the phone. Who knows.

Not only is there envy -- theres pomposity -- check this out from an unnamed nexus s owner i found whining somewhere off XDA
"I purchased a Nexus S under the assumption that Google would not be releasing a new version until a new iteration of Android was released. Now, with the rumors mounting that this may not be the case what if anything will be Google's response to users who already purchased a Nexus S? In similar cases, Apple has consistently offered refunds to consumers, will Google follow suit or will you choose instead to alienate some of your most loyal user base? I can honestly say that if the latter is true then I will be reconsidering continuing my support of the Android platform."

Yes that is my question. Where did I say anything about not wanting other people to have it? If that bothered me why not complain when the at&t version passed through the FCC. Nor did I ever say that Google should do something for me personally. I've owned my phone for over a month. I don't expect them to cut me a check. I do expect them to do something for the people who buy it close to the announcement. So now expecting morality from a company whose motto is "don't be evil" is pompous or ballsy?
Heck I don't expect them to do anything at all. Period. I posted that question to let Google know I was frustrated with this situation. If either of us is being pompous or ballsy it is you for making some pretty bold assumptions about what I meant.
Sent from my MattedBlues CM7 Nexus S from the XDA Premium app.
The answer is simple: expectations.
People expected very much from the Nexus S. It is a phone from Google after all. When the first rumors came, the Nexus S was going to be the first phone with dual-core, it would have Android 3.0, and it would be just awesome. When the Nexus S turned about to be something completely different, the crowd was dissapointed.
In that regard they were right. The Nexus S isn't very 'new' in terms of hardware. But as a smartphone it is very well build, and I'm not talking about the build quality. And that is what people seem to forget.
Also, the crowd showed the same reaction when the Nexus One was released. It wasn't really that special. But when the Nexus S was released, they were al saying: the Nexus One is so much better!
I don't know why everyone had that kind of expectations. Probably because it is a Google phone, and Google = Android. So it has to be good. Or something. But Google brought out a solid, unique phone, and I thank them for that.
the ns is fine for me. battery life is 100 times better than my vibrant, have flash support, ffc, quick updates, looks nice, fast. i could care less about dual core because i don't play games on my phone. anyway that's just my opinion.

I don't know why you would even want a dual-core phone if you don't play games. I do play games, but only games like Angry Birds, and the new released Chalk Ball! Simple games, yet very good looking and very fun to play!

I'm not against dual-core! Certainly not. I think you misunderstood me. What I'm trying to say is that the 1Ghz processor in the Nexus S makes everything smooth: from swiping through homescreens to playing Angry Birds. So what can dual-core do for you then? Play better games!
Seriously, it is just the same as with computers. Only reason they get better is because of games. I've said that like a hundred times, but it is the truth.
I'm not against dual-core, I just think it's funny everyone always wants the latest hardware, even when the old hardware is still running fine!

Its just trolling. Every single phone has some of it for a few months (exp: Atrix forums got trolled by Inspire users).
What made the Nexus S particularly a good target for trolls was that fact the Nexus One set a standard for Android handsets for an entire year. Google went to HTC and said "We want the best and brand new android phone hardware to push the industry and set a standard for the year to come"
Did Google do this same thing of asking for the best hardware for the Nexus S to set a standard for an entire year? Unfortunately no. Still a great niche phone for people wanting stock android but not a game changer by any means like the original Nexus.
Thats why people were pissed and made fun of the phone. They were looking at what it could have been and got mad once they saw the failed potential of the Nexus line so they decided to take out their frustrations on the forum by trolling...

I agree, the MT4G is a very nice phone. I actually had one for a few weeks before switching to the Nexus S (never looked back), gave the MyTouch 4G to my mom -- she loves it to death.

Took part in focus group for SGSII and Sensation

I took part today in a focus group interview where they had me test out a Sensation 4G (which I already own anyway haha) and a Samsung Galaxy S II. It was pretty cool. They basically had the two phones there on a table with a camera pointed down at them, and I sat there testing out different aspects of them while the interviewer asked me to compare the 2 and talk about what I liked better.
After using both phones for about 2 hours, I have to say I was disappointed by the Galaxy S II. The way people were talking about it, I was expecting the most amazing phone in the world. In my eyes, the phone was barely faster and smoother than the Sensation, while the trade off here is that the Galaxy S II is very ugly, in every way. The design of the phone sucks, the interface sucks. The look of the settings menu and application menus reminds me of a windows 95 computer.
The touch sensitivity and smoothness of swiping the screen was a little bit better than the Sensation which I liked. But the applications launching and loading really was maybe 1 millisecond faster than the Sensation if at all.
This made me really happy with my decision to purchase the Sensation instead of waiting for the Hercules.
I cannot say I am surprised to see this posted here in this forum. Nor would I expect that the Galaxy S II is so much faster than the Sensation as to make the HTC phone feel slow. I am pretty sure that the Samsung phone is quicker overall. This is a good thing. It means that they are pushing innovation forward. I am still happy with the Sensation and as long as it remains as fast and reliable as it already is I will continue to be happy with it.

I do market research, tell me a little more about this focus group. Which company commissioned the research? Name of the research company running it? What questions did you have to answer in advance prior to being selected? Why you were selected? Objective for bringing the group together? How much were you paid? Focus groups are very structured - the don't put you in a room to play with toys for two hours. No offense, this sounds like a focus group of one.

Ok, first off I have a Sensation and a G2X and as I've said before I like both phones but the Sensation tickles my fancy a little more. That being said. I am not the type of person who thinks my phone is the best in the world and there are no others better. I hate it when people defend there phones to no end just because there stuck with it for a year or two. Not to sound stuck up or anything but if I want a phone, I buy it without thinking about how much it costs and I can tell you right now, as soon as the SGSII gets to the states on a carrier besides ATT, its mine. Why? Because its the best damn phone available right now. Samsung is constantely pushing the envolope with there displays and always have one of the most powerful mobile processors available. Not to mention, the only Angldroid phone available with hardware accelerated browsing. That right there is ****ing innovation. Samsung is also moving in the right direction with there TouchWiz UI unlike HTC who's moving in the wrong direction with Sense. TouchWiz is getting less intrusive while Sense is getting more intrusive with nothing but resource bogging eye candy. TouchWiz actually adds useful stuff to Android and I can't understand why anyone would dislike the new iteration. Just throw a launcher on top of it and you still get to keep the features that HTC and every other manufacture wish they thought of first such as swiping on your contacts to call them or start a text and the ever so useful drop down menu filled with wifi/GPS switches. Lastly, I don't understand how the GSII is ugly when its just a thin slab of plastic.....Oh, and don't even say its poorly made because my Vibrant was probably one of the most durable phones I've ever used while still remaining light enough to forget its even in my pocket.
Bottom line. Stop thinking your phone is the best.....Its NOT!

I think the design of the phone is more of a personal preference. I would buy the SGSII if it were design differently. As it is, I dislike the design of SGSII so much that I would never buy it even if it cost $200 outright. Again, it is a matter of personal preference.

Take it easy, psycho. First off, I didn't say my phone is the best. I clearly stated that the SGS II is faster, runs smoother. But first off, TouchWiz is a ****ty iOS ripoff so it'll be moving in the right direction when it redesigns it to be original. I didn't say the SGSII is poorly made, but it's ugly. The HTC Sensation is a much better looking phone, and I'm pretty sure every article online comparing the two noted this in its reviews. I said that I was happy with my purchase of the the Sensation because to me the difference in performance wasn't very much, never did I say the Sensation is the god phone and beats every phone out there. So calm down, you fruitcake.

You're right I just made all this up, idiot. I have no idea what company commissioned the research as I do not work for the research group. This is all the information they gave me besides how to get there:
YOUR FOCUS GROUP:
Topic: Mobile phones
Time/Date/Length: 2 hours, Saturday, July 16, 2011
Payment Amount: $100
My buddy works for the research group he posted a status a week ago asking if anyone has HTC or Samsung phones and wants to make 100$ so I told him I did. He asked me a bunch of preliminary questions about what phone I have, if it had android, what apps I use, how often I use them, and a bunch of other similar questions. I then went to this nice office in downtown Chicago for the interview. They put two phones on a desk, the interviewer sat across from me, a camera recorded what I did on the phones from overhead, another camera recorded the interview, and then there were guys behind a one way mirror the interviewer said. There were a bunch of different categories that he had me test out such as the UI, the auditory UI functions, the music players, the lock screens, etc. As I tested he would ask me to comment on them and then rate them out of a certain number to show how satisfactory the categories of the phone were.
Why are people so hostile on these boards? I just related my own experience and my thoughts about the two phones, why are phaggots coming in here attacking me for that. Sorry for not fellating your god phone SGS II.
HarmonyK said:

So I'm a fruit cake and a psyci because I brought up issues with the Sensation and stated my opinion. Did you really feel that upset that you had to resort to name calling? What I would like to know is how Touch Wiz is a rip off of iOS? Can you name 3 reasons why? Atleast Samsung took the time to optimize there UI and didn't just slap some eye candy and a couple rings on top of some resource hogging ****.

If it is so much better and Samsung is so superior then they surely do not need you defending them so strenuously.
Supposedly superior hardware does not add up to a superior device for any given user. The iPhone is proof of that. The **** is totally subjective. One guy hates plastic and another hates Sense3.0. Who gives a ****
Do Sensation owners here go into the SGS2 forums to debate who has a better device? Asking honestly becuz I'm wondering. Is this **** to feel better about your purchase or are you at least getting paid by these manufacturers?

Focus groups are very structured - the don't put you in a room to play with toys for two hours. No offense, this sounds like a focus group of one.

Thank you. Truth be told, I liked the Vibrant's design, although it was a blatant iPhone 3Gs copy. However, the phone's various issues (GPS, RFS system, compass, to name a few) made me hate the phone. I wouldn't be surprised that half the people praising the SGSII are Galaxy S owners who claimed that they will never buy another Samsung again.
[sarcasm on] I suppose that the SGSII is a perfect phone, with no issues or glitches, especially considering who its manufacturer is. [sarcasm off]

For the record I do not own both phoned nor have I ever posted in the GSII forums. Why is it that people get mad when other Sensation owners give there opinion about different phones? HTC clearly released a product before it was optimized for best performance and ****ty drivers AS USUAL and I'm not the type of person who is going to defend any company just because I like there products or own there flagship phone. If you look back in my previous posts you will see that I have praised the Sensation to no end. Like I said before. Considering buying an iphone 4

As much as I love how open android is I still think I may want to get an iphone 4. So can you guys give me some reasons that would make me not make this decision.
Sent from my Inspire "4G" using XDA Premium App
ugh, why? This would be almost a waste of money. Consider that in the next 3-4 months a multitude of phones are dropping. For ex: iphone5, htc holiday (htc inspire hd), Samsung galaxy s 2, Lg Thrill, htc lead, Sony Xperia play, Samsung Attain....
I guess my question is, how would making the switch from Android to IOS honestly benefit you and your lifestyle? I prefer android simply because of the openness if I don't feel like sense then I got with cm7 if I feel like sense I flash a sense rom. With IOS you only get jail-broke or non jail-broke, in which some you can't even use i-tunes for apps, which i-tunes still has some apps that cydia doesn't. Not to mention almost all IOS apps are being ported to android.
Though I am just not a fan of apple; I personally don't see a reason to pay absurd amounts of money for something that is technologically behind the times, and over priced for the parts it contains. Take into consideration that everything but IOS is outsourced to other phone makers like lg and samsung.

I believe you would love the iPhone 4. I know I love mine. And I have Android and WP7. The iPhone 4 has the best battery life of all systems...purely amazing...and just works so well. It isn't as sweet as WP7, but it has all the features and is perfectly reliable. You'll love the apps for iOS as well. I'd say go for it. But keep Android also.
The Wife has one. I opt'd for the inspire because;
1. Cheaper
2. More horse power with the OC
3. More Customization.
4. Games are finally coming in droves for Android.
5. Custom Roms. After a Jailbreak what can you load on an Iphone? Nothing great. I guess you can wear your pirate eye patch, but that is lame....
6. Smaller screen. Ho Damn, I can't stand using the eyephone for internet browsing. Its to small and missing flash....
7. In the near future there will be awesome phones and the iphone 5. Why get last years model?
Ect, ect, ect, ect....
I must say that if you are in this forum (XDA Android) asking about the benefits of IOS(Apple), then clearly you are a comment whore that already knows the in and outs of this.

He has an inspire and has every right to ask us how we feel about the switch.
Anyway back on topic. I wouldn't get the iPhone. You will be unhappy with it in a month. iOS has terrible memory management and is SEVERELY limited. It has great battery life because you can't do anything with it lol
There is no true multitasking on the iPhone. My battery life would be great of I closed every app immediately after using it. And I just can not stand how safari reformats everything to what it thinks looks best.
The only thing the iPhone has on android right now is its camera and screen resolution. That's it.

Well I kinda agree. There are several threads already asking about the iPhone 4. I mean come on. You can Google it and hear it from the guys that review every phone imaginable and get their two cents. Were not here to tell you to keep your inspire, instead make your own choice. The layouts of both phones are everywhere to be found and why tell a guy the reasons not to leave when he owns a inspire already? If you love your android, keep it. You know the ins and outs of IOS and honestly its over priced rubbish that is created year after year with very little upgrades just to make them apple brainwashed idiots keep buying hoping for a change....not happening. Want my opinion? Steve jobs and his entire apple company can stick with mac books and that other crap but not cell phones. Samsung just took Android to the next level as they have been with there great mobile processors. One thing about Samsung g is they know how to create drivers and optimize their devices. You know when your using a Samsung phone that your getting all of the power the CPU/GPU has to offer. I knew they loved Cyanogen when they gave them a free GSII to start devolopement for it.

"You cant be serious. Samsung is in another level when it comes to drivers and firmware. Its HTC who doesn't know how to optimize their drivers and firmware which is evident in the new version of Sense. Since the Hummingbird debut, Samsung has done great with drivers and optimizing there firmware. The benchmarks and smooth UI/Browser are more than enough proof. HTC can learn a few things instead of making their UI'S more intrusive. They should fallow Samsungs lead and make them less I intrusive."
Since the other thread was closed, I'll reply here. I am absolutely serious. My opinion is based on the Samsung Vibrant, a phone with a non-functional GPS, compass, and the RFS file system. Perhaps Sammy has learned their lesson from that phone (let's not forget the Behold II) and overhauled their entire coding and manufacturing process. If that's the case, good for them. My experience (and that of countless other users) has not been positive. Again, their new products may have improved, but I am not about to chance $500 (or more) just to test that notion.
With regards to the UI, I love Sense 3.0 and am very impressed with its features and customizations. While I don't hate TouchWiz, I don't particularly care for it, and AOSP is a bit too spartan for my tastes.
By the way, my original post's purpose wasn't to compare Samsung and HTC, nor was it directed towards Galaxy SII. It was directed at Samsung as an entity. I am not particularly loyal to any specific brand. In fact, I can't wait to see what Google will cook up with Motorola. I am, however, adverse to giving my money to manufacturers whose products, through personal use, I have found to be inferior.

Ok so the Vibrant had GPS and file system problems. They were both fixed. One of which was fixed with NAND memory that every other company wants. Speaking of problems with phones, I can name a whole laundry list of the issues I've had with with the past two HTC phones and one LG phone I've used in the in the past year. My non-support for Samsung devices is purely an ethical decision. Its comparable to a girlfriend that cheats on you.You will never be able to fully trust her again. No matter what changes she promises to make... (aka hire Cyanogen).
The reality is that they need to hire Cyan to help make their SW updates push out in a timely fashion.
@jrwingate:
Re-read my initial response. Unless I am missing something, there were no justifications there.
In the interest of full disclosure, the only phone (smart or feature) that I've ever kept for close to two years was the G1 (October 2008 - July 2010). I had the Vibrant for 3 months (replaced by MT4G), the MT4G for 7 months, which was replaced by the Sensation. No, I am not rich - T-Mobile retention is kind enough to give me full upgrade pricing, and I sell whatever phone I happen to have at the time to finance the upgrade. I'll probably keep the Sensation for a while, at least until more information about the AT&T buyout is released to the public. If, however, another phone strikes my fancy in the future, I'll sell the Sensation and buy the new phone.
I don't need to justify anything - if a phone doesn't function as advertised/intended (a la Vibrant), I'll sell it and get one that does. However, I won't get a product whose manufacturer released two lemons in a row (Behold II and Galaxy S), regardless of its benchmark scores.

I hate samSUCK but I love cyanogen's work. I had a terrible experience with the vibrant and was super bored with the nexus s. SamSUCK is definitely taking steps in the right direction it's super hard to ignore that. I am absolutely a fan of HTC because they make great phones that actually feel like they are worth the off contract price that I am forced to pay. I hate spending $500+ for a phone that feels cheap regardless of the benchmark scores it produces. If samSUCK can put together a device that feels like it's well constructed and not a plastic fisher price toy I will definitely consider giving them a few more of my bucks LOL

It was a little frustrating to deal with multitasking for a while but they sent out the update and fixed quickly. This is the kind of phone that looks like it had a lot of thought that went into designing it.
There were many times where I expected people to start jumping ship when it came to HTC, although I think they have redeemed themselves. HTC was releasing too many cheap phones too frequently. They needed to stop and focus on one phone or one series. This could not have payed of better for them.
For me the biggest thing is phone quality, it doesn't feel cheap and looks SO VERY SEXYYYYYY!

HTC was known for supporting their customers and thriving for the development that was made outside their walls. They their customer support and open source support along side their amazing devices set them apart from the other manufacturers. They made it clear publicly that they do, and will support us. With no more of a warning than a punch in the back of our heads they took that away. They sent out the hox and the Evo lte with a MUCH increased security. The devs went to work and accomplished a lot of feats to open the devices up. Now, this part of the journey was frustrating enough, and many attempts were made to reach out and let htc know how we felt as customers and nobody got anything more than 1pre written response. Written so any joe could open up and see their customers voice and simply hit a auto reply without even finishing reading what the customer had to say.
To put the icing on the cake, to really make that sucker punch they gave us into baseball bat they did what i believe was their lowest of all time. They took us, the same developer community they supported, applauded and learned from and used our work to cutoff all the exploits that were there. Unlocking exploits, rooting exploits they killed them. They even implemented new securities on developments that were being explored. EXPLORED. So, that is my opinion and my feelings on the issue. Thats why i could care less to see them file bankruptcy and disappear. They obviously could care less about me. Like i said its MHO i dont care who agrees or disagrees. Ive moved on to other manufacturers but remain active in trying to help this community.

Well said.
I feel the same way about a lot of companies. Up until Apple's style of suing people I stayed pretty neutral in the android vs Apple thing. Now I'm looking to sell my Apple computer and replace every product even linked to them. Now that HTC is following a certain ****y path with security and developer support I'm thinking about doing something similar. I choose with my money and if HTC won't give me the experience I want them I'll let someone else take up the job. Maybe that new rumored nexus?
We'll see HTC.. we'll see

I'm predicting htc will enter bankruptcy within a year. The mighty have fallen. The one x is a terrific phone but at&t ruined it.

And you're too literal! Christ man, I was just trying to fit the question in a limited amount of space.
Of course I could live without my HOX! I've got a Nexus 7 now!

Agreed. I think choosing with our money is the only way...since HTC obviously does not seem to care about the benefits of this community
