nfs speed - T-Mobile LG G2x

I lost nfs shift when I installed a rom for my first time doing it. I have a second g2x that is a replacement for one I got that had warrenty on It. It has nfs shift on it and has not been modified in any way yet. What I am wondering is it possible to back it up and somehow use the backup to revive it on the modded g2x I lost it on? And how shoud I go about it.
Thanks
Eddie

TeleNav APK

I read today that OTAs may not work if you get rid of Amy of the locked software. My first day after rooting I deleted TeleNav because I will never use it. However in hindsight I should just freeze it. Does anyone know where I can get this APK or is anyone willing to send it to me? Thanks.

Here ya go!
What I do is just move the apks from the system app folder to a folder in SD. Then I can move them back if needed. Works great.

Can't you get all of the pre installed apps back by doing a factory reset? Also, the only app I deleted was My Account and you can just get it back from the market. I deleted many system apps on my Vibrant but I was still able to upgrade to Froyo. I think someone started this rumor without any merit.
I have heard that before also (as well as being rooted and flashing a different recovery).
I usually jut freeze them. Note - if you delete a system app - it is gone - factory reset will only reset what is left.
I think we might see a CM 2.3 ROM before any TMo/LG 2.3 update like we did on the MT4G. If not, the update should get posted pretty quick.
I do not think it matters. well since most of us will be flashing CM when it comes to the phone you will be flashing all the apps cyan adds.

[Q] Root Question

Is anybody working on a root for the EVO SHIFT 4g, I mean as in running Gingerbread? Temp Root solution at least???? I'm slowly dying ever since I mistakenly updated.
I sure hope so. I did the same thing.
If you need tethering, just use PDAnet. Works well and it is free.

[Q] Need help! Sending unrooted device for warranty

Hello fellow G2xers
So I'm sending my G2x for warranty to T-Mobile Sometime next week since my G2x purchased last week is defective.
My question is: I' ve unropted my device via superoneclick, unfrozen bloatware, and copied the factory apps back to the system folder. Should I be concerned about anything else? Is there anyway of them finding out that my device has been rooted? I have not flashed any roms.
Thanks a lot in advance.

realistically, the only thing i would go out of my way to restore would just be the bootscreens, but even then reps arent trained to say HEY NO DUDE THIS THING'S ROOTED!
i once bricked a g1 because it was faster to do than revert to stock, just another alternative hahaha.

[Q] Verizon PRL?

I have an Epic, and my wife has the Evo Shift. The sprint tower in our area recently got struck by lightning, and in turn dropped our signal from all bars to no bars. Sprint says it'll be a few days at least for a fix.
What I'm wondering is what the accepted verizon PRL is for use on the Evo Shift. I just pushed a modded verizon PRL to my Epic, which the 'modder' has termed 00001. It was essentially a modding of the most recent verizon PRL in a way so that it won't show up as roaming to the phone, eliminating the extra steps to make a call and such. Of course, sprint still sees it as roaming. Can this PRL be safely used on the Evo Shift, or is there a more commonly used and accepted PRL version? We desperately need tower coverage for the interim. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. Your CM7 nightlies on the Evo Shift rock! That's what I'm running on the wife's phone...
Firstly I'm sure you know you will have to restore a sense rom or flash one to change the prl, there is another way using qpst but not recommended cuz it can screw your phone up. Any way go here to this thread over in the hero forums and get in touch with oostah or Bierce they are pretty good at what you want to pursue.

Thanks. I'll look over at the hero forums. But I was planning on using the QPST method, so I'll be looking over there with that method in mind. I've used it many times in the past with no issues.
Ok, I tried the sense prl update the other day. I tried every 2.1 sense I could find to do this. On each one I would type ##775 and when I would press the last #, it wouldn't do anything. The dialer would clear itself ready to start over again. I tried mikmik, twisted, etc. I tried to find an original froyo rom but the links to one in the wiki are dead. Anyone suggest a good rom to use or one that works for you? Link me please. Also, if the roms I've tried have worked for you, suggest what may be wrong. I tried the original mikmiks and the wouldn't even load on my shift. Never got past the splash. I really do not want to unroot. Thanks guys!

You need an older version of epst.apk.
I had to do this before and it works, but you need root explorer or adb to push it on the shift. The epst needs to be version 2.1 I believe. I can't attach from this app but a quick Google will come up with it.
