[Q] HTC Global Warranty - HTC Desire S

I purchased my Desire S on Ebay, the seller mentioned that the phone come with global warranty. After clarifying this with HTC, I am told that other than the country of origin where the phone was purchased from. The following service centers will cover your warranty:
Global Warranty Service centers - Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, US, and UK
I'm planning to send my Desire S to Singapore to have it repaired after the faulty eMMC was fried under normal use. Is the Singapore service centre reliable?
I'll like to note that it is strange that Singapore GWS contact number is a taiwanese number: +886-266-391-147. The country code is 65 for Singapore. Does anyone has experience with Singapore GWS?
http://www.htc.com/www/contact/call-us/

Does the packaging comes with a warranty card? Its supposed to display the number for the Singaporean service center... beginning with 1800xxxxxxxx, I don't have the warranty with me at the moment will update you again.

In my correspondence with HTC Singapore, they mentioned that they will accept my phone for repair as per the "international product warranty" that came with the phone.
Now, it is strange and appalling that HTC Singapore is trying to weasel in a non-refundable "inspection fee" of SGD $53.50, regardless that the phone is under warranty or not. This is infuriating, the warranty statement at clause 3 clearly stated that the phone will be repaired free-of-charge when the phone is under the manufacturer's warranty period!
"Throughout the Warranty Period HTC or its authorized agent will,
at their discretion, without charge and subject to Clause 7 repair or
replace a defective Product. Repair or replacement may involve the
use of functionally equivalent reconditioned unit. HTC will return
the repaired Product or replaced with another functional equivalent
Product to the Customer in good working condition. All replaced
faulty parts or components will become the property of HTC."

Yep. Singapore service is reliable. In fact, I live in Singapore. Their service is good. However, be prepared. To only have your phone repaired after a week. Singaporeans loves bricking their phones and send it to HTC.

how do you know if your phone has the global warranty?
i bought my phone in taiwan, but i'm now at hong kong.
I was wondering if i would be able to fix my phone under the warranty here at hong kong. The thing is all i have is my phone now, I don't have the box that it came with.

So global warranty doesn't apply to all country purchased?

HTC & Expansys

I'm from Australia and I'm planning to buy a PDA from Expansys HK.
its a HTC, anybody know if the warranty will work in AUS, or do i need to send it back to HK?
Also is HTC warranty 1 or 2years?
I've researched about HTC Warranty, and it appears that there is a lot of people complaining about it. Things like even if there is any physical damage that it will void your warranty with HTC.
Has anybody had experience with Expansys HK and how they do warranty?

[Q] LG not honoring warranty from non-authorized dealers- anyone else have any luck?

Still with the GB update, eagles blood rom, and CM7 rom I still am getting reboots and SOD. I chatted with them and seems like I'm SOL with warranty on the phone since I got the phone off craigslist and not an authorized reseller.
Every LG phone and device has a one year limited warranty which starts from the date of purchase, or original purchase (If it was a replacement that is), unless you purchased a refurbished phone which has only 90 days of warranty. If you would need to send the phone or device to LG, we will perform a cover to cover check on the device to see what the issue is, if our technicians find that the issue is caused by any type of physical, liquid, or cosmetic damage on the device then fees will be applied, at this point you will be notified via email or through a phone call before doing any repairs. As well, this warranty will not cover the device if it was purchased through a non authorized LG dealer, such as E-bay, newegg, craiglist, etc…; if our technicians determine that the issue is a manufacturer’s defect, the device will be repaired or replaced by a certified refurbish unit. This process has a turn around time of 5 to 7 business days, from the day that our technicians start working on your device.

Samsung has the exact same policy. Before repair, they ask for an invoice and a credit card statement if the invoice is questionable. They also have a s/n database to track which phones were shipped to which dealer to match against the invoice. The manufacturers take the authorized retailer thing pretty seriously.
Try contacting the seller to assist you with this or ask him where he got it from. Tell LG you paid cash or were given the item as a gift from a now deceased family member.
Tell them the device was purchased though an authorized dealer and then was given to you or sold to you by a friend. Does friend count as Craigslist or Ebay?
Newegg isn't a authoized seller?

Where to buy a n8000?

I am thinking about buying a N8013 but if I do buy a 8000 for the 3g capability, where is a good place to get one from.

India it's n8000.
Yes you can order it from India but doubt any of the sites ship overseas
New Egg has them
I am in the USA.
Not seeing the 8k on Newegg, just the 8013.

Do not think 8k is launched in USA you only have the wifi version over there you will need to import it
I'd suggest getting it from Handtec or Clove in the UK. That's where I get most of my imported devices from. I got my N8000 from Negri because there wasn't a release date in the UK yet and it has a Brazil/Trinidad CSC and hasn't been updated from the shipping s/w. EU devices get much more frequent updates and have had as many as three compared to my none. It's 405 GBP ($652) all-in delivered overnight from Handtec. Since you're buying it from an authorized dealer in its country of intended sale the 2-year Samsung warranty will be preserved. But you'll have to send it to the UK at your own expense if it needs repair. If you buy it from Negri or Expansys-USA you'll have to send it to them for repair and they'll send it to one of their oversees affiliates who will have it repaired on your behalf.

Any unlocked Samsung mobile device that's sold in the U.S. is considered grey market and has no warranty because it's not intended to be sold here and can't be by an authorized reseller. Buying a Samsung device outside its intended country of sale and/or from a non-authorized reseller (CL/eBay/Amazon) means Samsung won't honor the warranty. Negri and Expansys-USA get around it by shipping their U.S. customer's devices that need repair to overseas affiliates.
This is what the link you posted says about warranty. I'm guessing the 90 days means NewEgg (not Samsung) will exchange it if it's becomes defective during that time.
Limited Warranty period (parts): 90 days
Limited Warranty period (labor): 90 days

[Q] International Warranty?

I want to buy a nexus 5 from USA and use it in Europe (I don't use 4g so I don't care about US/EU model differences). But I'm curious about something: If I will have problems with my phone, can I send it to a local LG authorized service with the warranty or I have to send it back to USA?

Have preordered Moto G 16GB version from amazon.uk and still waiting for it to deliver.

As I'm in Estonia, I did ask also about warranty from Amazon, they replied:
For items sold by or fulfilled by Amazon, our 30-day returns guarantee means
that you can return an item to us in its original condition within 30 days of
the date you received it.
If the returned item is in its original packaging and condition, we'll issue a
full refund for the price that you paid for it. We will, however, also accept
the return of incorrect or defective merchandise which meets the guidelines below.
However, if your purchase is defective within a year, you may still be able to
return it for a replacement/refund as all electronic items purchased from
Amazon.co.uk come with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, unless
otherwise stated.
Since this item "Moto G 8GB Sim Free Smartphone - Black" comes under Electronics
category, it has one year warranty.
Our complete Returns Policy is set out on the Amazon.co.uk website. Read our
Help pages for additional information about Returns and Refunds.

The one year Manufacturers Warranty is in addition to your rights as an EU Consumer, which is a 2 year Statutory Warranty......
this EU Directive has been transposed into law in all EU countries, or already existed in effect in some.
In the UK, there is a six year warranty, under their Sale of Goods Act, which they claim is superior to the EU minimum protection you have mentioned.
It is good to know that Apple had to change the wording of their International Warranty in all EU countries in the past year, so as to comply with EU Consumer Protection Directives/Law....
If you purchased online from another EU country, you also have additional protection and rights under EU Law.
Check out the European Consumer Rights Site for your country.

Hope this helps!!

I just want to know if I can send here in Sweden for repairs and dont need send it back to amazon.uk for repairs. Not how long EU warranty it have.
Someone got a reply from Motorolas, that said since Moto G dont sell here in Sweden and need to send it back to amazon.uk for warranty repairs.
But if I look at Moto websites about Moto G warranty, Sweden is listed under warranty and there is also a Swedish manual. In the Swedish manual, it say under Service and repairs it says to contach Swedish Moto support center. For repairs to send it to Swedens Moto service center partner. So im abit confused, who do I send it back for repairs? Amazon.uk or Moto Sweden service partner center?

You bought from Amazon, not Moto Sweden.
Amazon is the retailer you have a contract of sale with. Consumer law in the EU is clear on this.
If you bought in a local store on your High Street, where would you go??
AFAIK, Amazon pays postage for returns in the event of faulty goods.
If you don't want info given, others might find it useful, it is a "public" forum.

As you are using Internet to ask a question here, use it the same way and search for service center in google, yahoo or whatever search engine you prefer.
The search result may end up giving a contact number and/or email address.
