Hi, first let me say im sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, i have spent all day searching the wiki and forum to no avail. If the solution is already here please point me in the direction and delete this thread.
I have just flashed my kaiser from the original vodafone WM6 ROM to Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700. At first everything seemed fine, then when i tried to restore the backup id created with sprite backup it restored, reset and now wont get past the loading screen. It shows the vodafone splash screen then duttys htc screen then goes back to vodafone.
I used Hardspl 3.29 before flashing. I tried hard reseting which made no difference. i cant get into the bootloader (tried the camera, power reset thing loads) and i cant connect to my pc as it wont go past the splash screen.
I had a look at MTTY but it doesnt give the options described in the instructions and after reading the warnings about MTTY decided i shouldnt mess around with what i dont understand.
Any help will be greatly apreciated, i love my phone and the idea that ive just broken it scares the crap out of me.

first, are you SURE you can't get into bootloader?
I know it sounds stupid, but try REALLY pushing the camera button in while pushing the stylus into the reset hole. Once you get to the bootloader (tri-color screen), try flashing a different ROM

I agree here a lot of people don't realize the Camera button is a two stage button. It stops at Half-Press then you can push again to get Full Press. You need a Full Press to get into bootloader.
Just to clarify.
Press and hold the camera button and at the same time insert stylus in reset hole and hold until bootloader comes up.
In other words, do not let up until bootloader shows. It should take around 2-3 seconds.
yea ive been doing that. After trying many times i have found that holding the camera button down for around 2 minutes after the htc dutty series screen comes up brings up a white screen with the error message;
"the device is unable to boot either because you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from an untrusted source. press send to reset or any other key to cancel"
The message dissapears if i let go of the camera button, and resets back to the vodafone screen and stays there. If i press the send button same thing happens (just an idiot check but the send button is the green pick up button right?) ive tryed the enter button and both soft keys but all to the same result. I have tried holding down each button on that screen as well and the error message stays as long as i hold the button but when i let go it just goes back to the vodafone splash screen and stays there.
I have tried holding the stylus with the camera button all the way through to this error message, doesnt seem to make a difference.
just to clarify, ive done what you suggest and still cant get into the bootloader.

i used to let go the camera button as soon as the screen go black, but then it just reset the device instead of going into the bootloader...
oh forgot to mention. Shotly after the dutty series screen comes up i get the window appearing sound but nothing comes on screen. suggests to me that maybe its trying to tell me whatswrong but i can see what it is. maybe, i dunno..

Im holding the camera button for around 2 minutes before it does anything, then i get the above error message.
Do you have a storage card installed?
yes. tried taking it out and doing the same thing. no different.
anything else i could try?

OK But are you also holding your stylus in the Reset Hole?
If yes, And you can't get into Bootloader, well I think you are "boned"
Yes im doing that. Boned? really? What about the error message that eventually comes up? isnt there anything i can do from there? Any other way of reseting it so maybe the bootloader works?
And if its really broken, do you recon my network will send me another or have i just properly voided the warranty?
Hey all,
I need some help. The other day my touch cruise was working fine, but I wasnt able to connect to the network, and I thought it was time to do a soft reset. After soft reset my phone has now stopped working. It is stuck on the screen that says:
POLA100
SPL-3.13.0000
CPLD-2
The screen has 4 color bars on it, in this order:
RED
GREEN
BLUE
WHITE (SERIAL OR USB)
Every time I reset the phone it quickly flashes the screen with a messege that I believe says "No Image Found"
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

A quick update...
I have managed to get back into the phone. I plugged it into the usb, and of course it would not recognise it. However, after it was plugged in I held down the camera button, and the power button and pushed in the reset button, and vola the phone restarted back to normal. I have not lost the operating system or anything. I am not sure what will happen if I turn it off. So I plan on backing it all up and then trying to turn it off and on.
But if you have any answers to this problem please let me know as I am not sure what i have done.

Ok everytime I turn off my phone I go back to the tri color screen. The only way for me to get back into the phone is if I plug it into the USB and hold down the camera button and hit the soft reset. Any ideas?
I guess nobody has had this problem? I must be the first! Seriously.... Well I still have the problem, each time I shut off the phone and turn it back on it goes to the tri color screen. I have to do my combination of camera button and soft reset in order to get the phone to start properly. I dont loose any information, but the phone is now running very slugish at times.
Once again, any help would be great... Unless I am really the first one to run into this problem.

Hmmm... I have no idea what could the problem be.
But I have some questions:
1. What OS is/was on your Polaris?
2. Have you managed to backup your data via ActiveSync or other means?
It looks to me like you're stuck somewhere in the upgrade process. But I'm not sure, just guessing.
I'd recommend flashing Polaris with official ROM.
Be aware that you'll lose all your data on device.
Tmobile Wing Won't turn on after Rom update attempt. No reset workers. Can't charge can't do anything, its just dead. I really don't want to wait until the wing 2 comes out, is there anything i am doing wrong?? I guess i should add that i used hypercore
It turns out that i think something when wrong( i don't see why?) but i put it into bootloader thing(camera + reset)
Wrong Section to post in. Also your phone is probably bricked.
Go to the xda wiki and search for Goldcard. Even if it's for the elf, it was copied from the Herald. I haven't tried it myself, though.
just hold down the camera button and press the reset button on the side
then connect usb cable
then download the official stock t-mobile rom (google it)
and it should work again

turn on in bootloader mode
(camera+reset button on side below the volume)
then download the official stock rom and run it and you should have ur old rom back
just search on google for t-mobile stock rom

I was installing the customized ROM from thewingster (WM6.5) on my Wing. I did not include MS voice recognition, and I think I included all the other software. The progress bar was humming along on my wing, then the flash program said that the file was corrupt, and my phone went blank.
Now I cant turn it on, it wont light up at all when I plug in a charger or a computer USB (activesync wont notice anything is attached to the computer, and wont turn on at all). I tried a charged up battery from another wing, nothing changed...
I tried hard resets with the soft keys and reset button, and camera and reset button. Cant access it through my computer using any program (herald-uspl or activsync)
I have nothing at all.
Any ideas other than throwing it off a bridge?

You tried pressing the camera button ONLY while pressing the power button? (or the soft reset button.) The ROMs don't stop the phone from turning on unless the installation was botched.

Yes my install was botched. Computer went into standby mode during flash. Phone was still on (just in the bootloader mode? with 3 colors on the screen). From there I figured I could just re-install the ROM, so I tried. Then the progress bar appeared on my phone and I figured it was all gravy. Then the ROM flasher program on my computer said the file is corrupt and the phone went black.
Now its totally dead wont respond to any combination of button pushes or battery replacements....
Anyone had this problem before?
What does this have to do with Rom development?

If it won't turn on by holding the camera button and then pressing the power button nor the reset button, then it might be gone. Sorry. Although, I've always seen it be recoverable.

I got my HTC HD2 only a couple of weeks ago, and I already got a problem with it
The thing is, that I can't boot it up properly; when pressing the "Turn on/Turn off/hang up"-buttom, it boots by comin' up with the white screen with the green "HTC"-logo in the middle and some system information in the left buttom.
Afterwards the animation with "quietly brilliant" comes up and the Windows logo with the orange background comes up - and then it turns off and boots up again.
I've tried to...
* reset it (not hard reset - I have some contacts that I don't wanna loose).
* charge it up (I can, when the windows-logo appears, see, that the battery's full)
* pull out the battery for several hours
Please help - I'm very sad about that I used tons of money on a device, that now won't work.
Is there any way, where I can solve the problem without loosing all my contacts?
I did it!
Ok, found out that all my contacts were synch'ed with my gmail.
I hard-resetted it, and it works now.

For people that dont have push/exchange contacts etc, always backup using myphone, spb, sprite or other software.
Cant tell you enough how important it is to back up, unless you like loosing everything right?

Now, suddenly i find it turned off then when i try to boot it up, it get stuck on the white screen with the green "htc" and information in red to the bottom left. It hangs there!
It did later show the following black screen with white text:

Press Volume Up to reset your decice or press any other button to cancel. This operation will delete all your personal data and restore the device to it's factory settings"
but the thing is, i can't press anything at this stage, nothing happens....

1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
If that dont work try flashing a new rom using mtty.
If that still doesnt work I would expect it to be a hardware problem, i would send it back to htc or if without warranty take it to a Phoneshop (or open yourself), probably a wires loose or something.

I have the same issue. Phone Just out of the box I can't start it. It started once but crashed, I removed battery and is gone.
Now it remains frozen with white screen and htc logo.
I tried everything reset, hard reset, all things now is charging the battery for 4 hr. Crappy phone or software.
What to do??

If its brand new out of the box, id take it back and get a different one. If its second hand, see if you can get into bootloader. If you can you can then flash a stock htc rom, if not its back to the shop.

hey can wires be the reason that hd2 cant boot up.shows green boot logo but no system information at boot and stucks there only tried every thing hard reset,custom rom,stock rom,mitty,sd method rom install..every thing...

Looking for a quick fix here as I can't go to the service centre and get a replacement until at least Tuesday, and I need my phone working before then. I'm hoping someone else has had the same problem and can help me out.
My Moto G froze and became unresponsive (while I was refreshing my Gmail inbox) and it would not accept any input. I held down the power button and the power menu opened, however when I tried to power it off, it wouldn't accept my touch input. So obviously the next course of action was to hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force a reboot. The Motorola logo appeared and the phone vibrated... then it did nothing.
I tried this a few times and still nothing happened. I am able to boot into the bootloader, but apart from that, the phone goes only so far into the boot cycle before the screen goes black and does nothing.
Motorola's website suggests that if the Moto G becomes unresponsive, and the regular 10 second reset doesn't work, you should hold the power button for 120 seconds and keep it plugged in to a charger. This didn't work either. As of right now, my phone is just sitting here on my desk with what I would call a 'black screen of death.' Help would be appreciated.

Can you boot into bootloader mode and use adb command from a pc? If yes, maybe you can try to flash a stock recovery img file via your pc to phone.

Would that require unlocking my boot loader though? I don't want to void my warranty, especially considering I did nothing to the phone and it's currently unresponsive.
I am not sure - but my guess is that bootloader needs to be unlocked to install custom recovery to "recover" & backup userdata before flashing the entire original stock firmware; that's usually the first step we see in all those modding guide in different forums online.

I suppose you can also contact motorola support to see if they can help you recover your data before getting the phone fixed or replaced under their warranty program.
