I've been doing google searches based on last 24 hours. However, I've yet to find a working apk for my Infuse. It works flawlessly on my Nook Color. Please post any memorial day weekend updates/mods you've found, if any are found. Lol, waiting for the beautiful possibility of Cyanogen 7 on the Infuse.

hummingbird seems to need gingerbread for netflix. nook uses snapdragon, they must have different support for drm on qualcomm chips.
That makes sense. Kind of funny that new phones are still being released on 2.2.
Now I'm going to have to google for any rumored official or custom 2.3 updates

im not sure i believe that hummingbirds require gingerbread. i think its something other than that. as long as theres no more 2.1 phones coming out, i can believe that many will be only 1 version behind latest.
I found this post about Ardeno drivers update:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10447-adreno200-open-source-userspace-driver/page__unlockUserAgent__1
I hope that we could see it running on our device also
Please developers make this happen
What exactly is it? What would be gained? Internet at my current location is almost nonexistent so search feature isn't working well, least really slow.

Thanks for posting but I'm pretty sure this is why we are running almost full functioning EGL on aeroevans newest ICS rom over on rootzwiki. From what I read on that link you posted though, there is much more that can be done to make ICS run as good as on the g-nexus itself if enough developers put time into building it and we can get qualcomm to release either source or updated drivers. Sadly it looks like we will probably have to wait for one of the other HTC devices with adreno205 that is on the upgrade list for ICS to get new drivers and then cherry pick them.

Basically without updated Adreno205 drivers for android 4.0 we would be unable to utilize full hardware acceleration on Ice Cream Sandwich, which is basically the reason why ICS runs so much smoother than GB and more like iOS. Since the Inc2 is not on the list for a genuine HTC ICS upgrade we luck out because the adreno205 gpu is present in a few other HTC devices that are, hence allowing us to utilize those correct drivers to make ICS runs correctly.

So since the Charge and Nexus S have the same GPU we would be fine right?
And how does this help the Charge? We have the SGX540 GPU, the same one as the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus.

I think he was asking about how these adreno 205 drivers would help the Charge if it's a whole different GPU.

The Charge has a PowerVR-based GPU, not Adreno so it'll mean nothing for us.

Yes I know that Ardeno and Power VR are not the same.
I posted this thread in HTC Droid Incredible 2 forum, but moderator moved it.
I asked why? And no answer??? Sorry mates...
It looks like the Tegra 2 isn't dead, yet.
ACER is selling the ICONIA TAB A200 which has a Tegra 2 T20 in it and has promised ICS will be available for it in February. That means it will have Tegra 2 drivers which may be hackable for the Tegra 2 AP20H SOC in cell phones including the G2X.

Is it the same Tegra 2 chip inside our G2x? I remember a dev saying that there's different ones, like how the one in the Tab 10.1 is harmony based, but ours isn't.
The Motorola Atrix 4G which has the same Tegra as ours, has a Public Beta Released CM9.
The Iconia A200 uses the Harmony.

Where's the CM9 Public Beta for the Motorola Atrix 4G? I looked on the Cyanogen website and couldn't find it. If Cyanogen has a Public Beta for that phone, wouldn't they also be able to continue development for the other Tegra 2 phones? Also, Motorola isn't updating that phone to ICS: https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c

That's interesting. I see on github.com https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c that the alpha 5 was 23 hours ago (now 1 day ago). Has it progressed to beta? As well, if they've solved the audio problem why hasn't Cyanogen?
Do we really have to look to a tablet for our drivers? Is the G2x the only tegra 2 phone out right now?

The other two "big" phones with the same version of Tegra 2 are the Atrix 4G and the Droid X2. We have the model number: Tegra 250 AP20H which I believe is Harmony.
I think its just a matter of time. Someone will end up tweaking those drivers and start making it work. Got this phone 2 months ago i hope we get some support. I cant afford to buy a sgs2 because im in contract.

I think a lot of people lost hope for this device cause of tmobiles eol announcement. As long as there are developers with this phone, I think we will be ok.

Doubt it. I think the Tegra in this Iconia is the same as the one in the tab 10.1, which isn't the same as the G2x. So nothing can be done to my understanding.

Rocking stock CM 7.2.0-RC1
I'm going to be getting the Nexus 7 when it releases and was wondering if I could expect the same lack of drivers that devs had to deal with when using the G2x or will the fact that Google is behind it make for more openness with the drivers?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
i would expect the same lack of support, it is nvidia who is not coming out with the kernels, drivers, and plain text code. you atleast get the same NVflash support with the tegra3 so you cannot brick it.
Its google's official tablet, I expect a lot of support. Even if there isn't, google will most likely provide future updates that can be used to get drivers (ex android 4.2, etc)
It's Google's first flagship tablet so you can definitely expect full support and updated for a year (at the very minimum). Nexus S still gets support so that tells you a lot about how it'll be.
The HTC One X seems to have been getting good support so far.
Ordered a 16gb nexus the other day... I think we will be ok it is a nexus after all and I would think Google has thought of this.. Plus with actual timely updates the Devs can just pull the drivers anyways

I could be wrong, but does it have something do with proprietary drivers not being compatible with the linux kernel version that each new major Android version requires?
Now I'm just thinking to get Jelly Bean! I'm not even worried about the next big update from Google!
One thing at the time!
I've already accepted that the G2x won't get KLP

How about this question them: Do major android revisions require a newer kernel version, and if so, is that why the proprietary video drivers get broken after a major release?
The major issue was that with 4.0 ICS, Google fundamentally changed the way that Android operated, so that the operating system and the apps would use hardware-based graphical acceleration. The drivers for this were not available for the G2x because NVidia was trying very hard to stop supporting the old Tegra 2 CPUs, or something, I don't know, there was drama and everybody was blaming everyone else.
Now that we've had updates for the su660 and the p990 with kernel source code and proprietary hardware acceleration drivers for ICS, this should let us keep basic compatibility through most of the future Android versions.
Obviously as it gets more features added it might become too bulky and CPU-intensive for our phones, but that shouldn't be for a while.
The only major breakage I can think of is if a future version of Android requires the NEON instruction set, which the Tegra 2 does not support.
The kernel itself being updated shouldn't be much of an issue.
Ram requirements will be a problem.

Depending on when klp comes out I hope the g2x can run it. This phone had to last me a bit longer till I get rid of debt and save to buy a nexus 4

The culprit is NVIDIA. They have not followed Linux guide lines. Their drivers are tied to specific kernel versions.

Speculation about KLP when we haven't got ICS or even Jellybean or CM10 is self-abuse and surely will lead to total madness.

is it because of limitations of the drivers, or just for ****s and giggles? AMD does the same crap, and considering the Radeon 3650 on my Thinkpad T500 isn't getting regular updates anymore to compensate for updated kernels, I'm stuck with the subpar open source drivers.
And I didn't intend on starting some sort of war....I was just generally curious
