I've searched throughout the forum and found others who have asked this, but never an answer. Apologies if it's buried somewhere though.
My WM Outlook does not allow any way of displaying what is in the Deleted Items folder when it's sync'd with Exchange. Let me clarify that this is intended Windows Mobile behaviour - deleted items get deleted from the device and moved to Delete Items on the Exchange server.
However what I would like is to see on my device is the contents of that Deleted Items folder. Sometimes it's useful to go back and check something you've deleted. Most other folders can be sync'd with Exchange so you see the contents on the device as well, but that option (Menu>Tools>Manage Folders) isn't available.
This behaviour is on WM6.5 on a Touch Pro2, but it's true for other versions of Windows Mobile and devices.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Mark

My phone = HTC wizard (WM5)
I sync with my university's Exchange 2003 server.
OK, the other day i took three pics (100-150KB each) with my phone camera. I tried to email them to one of my hotmail accounts. I did this by clicking on the pics (in the Pictures & Video folders) and selecting "Send". Then It asked me to select an account and i choose "outlook" which i assume is the email i sync with exchange because the only other option was MMS.
Then i clicked on send/recieve and it synchronised with exchange etc, but then it said Attention Required and the emails had not been sent. I tried this many times but could not get the emails to be sent. When i connected my phone to the computer and tried it thru my computers activesync, it still didnt send the emails, giving me support code 1 error.
That support code isnt even listed with the others here.
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/activesync/exchange_errors.php
i even tried changing my activesync settings to download full emails and full attachments (i.e. not only if attachment smaller than <insert number>KB.
in the end i gave up and deleted the emails. now when it connects with activesync i get no problems and no support code 1.
I am just wondering why it couldn't send a few simple emails with pics attached.
ALSO, since im making a thread anyway, my outlook.ost file is 0KB. Is that normal?
Similar problem with HTC Touch Diamond
Hello friends,
I am having similar problem with my Touch Diamond. A few of my contacts fail to synchronize. I get the error Support Code:1
Any help??
Have you tried duplicating this again at all? Like with just one pic.
Support Code 1
Hi people,
Hi had this ERROR when I was synchronizing all my stuff in my kaiser. I found the solution with my friend google and this forum:
Click Start > Run and type the following: Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\ole32.dll
Click OK, Reboot your PC. Sync again.
After reregistering ole32.dll, you should scan all items on your mobile device for unsynced annotations. If there are, CHANGE the item on the mobile device and sync. This is the only way to keep all your changes made and sync them to your desktop PC.
Some of the items where having issues and that was the origin of "the support Code 1"
active sync support code:1 Alltel Touch Pro
Scan how, what do I do on the phone?
I'm getting a number of items that were recurring b'day entries
I found and deleted them on the PC, but I can't find them on the phone
to delete them. I'm still trying to setup the phone, so if needed, I can do a
cold reset. Alltel replaced a ppc6800 with the touch pro. *sigh* I miss
all the buttons. Anyway I do have good data in Outlook and a good PIMbackup
just before turning in the old phone. I tried the ole32.dll thing but no luck.
Can anyone suggest a button mapping program, the windows one only sees
the 'red' button as programmable? I'm also looking for a 'how-to' to use
SPB's P+ & Mobile shell instead of the touch3d thing. I have Resco Regedit
and Resco File Explorer.
Thanks
Activesync Support Code 1
I hope this is helpful to someone with Activesync problems.
I sync my AT&T Fuze with Outlook on my desktop using Activesync 4.5 on XP. Contacts, calendar, tasks, notes. My first sync just loaded up my Fuze from Outlook, based on existing data that was previously synced with 8525. Subsequent incremental syncs worked fine, until one day I started getting the infamous Support Code 1 along with a long list of Fuze updates that would not sync to Outlook. I was amazed at how little information there is on the web about these types of Activesync errors.
I finally figured it out. I had imported a new Outlook data file into Outlook, because I needed to convert it from Outlook format to Outlook Express format. After the conversion, I had left the second Outlook data file (mail, calendar, tasks) in Outlook, even though it was not being used. Apparently, the presence of this second Outlook data file was enough to confuse Activesync and prevent the syncing of new updates from my Fuze. After I deleted all traces of the data file from Outlook (and thus had only my single main data file), Activesync began working again, and the Support Code 1 did not occur. I realize that I am just describing symptoms, but since I can do what I need to do, I am not digging deeper. Perhaps there is a way to tell Activesync which Outlook data file to use, but I don't care.
change contact-pictures to 240x320 pixels
Make sure your contact-pictures do not exceed the 240x320 pixels format as larger pictures cannot be synced in outlook!

How do you scan for offending items on the phone? I have this same issue with 25 birthdays and anniversaries on my phone. They don't show up in the calendar on the phone or in Outlook 2007, though. How do I find them?

Did you ever get or find a answer to this question? I'm getting this error with a recurring task that occurred in the past. And the support code 1 indicates the item is on the phone. But I can't find a way to view old tasks on the phone at all. I go to the referenced year/month and it's simply not there.
I've wiped the device, but my situation is complicated by syncing with Win7 at home with no issues and win xp at work. Why mobile device under Win7 pushes old tasks you can't view on the phone is it's own issue.

Wow! Time flies, and it didn't take long for my reminder to reply to this to get buried WAY at the bottom of my Inbox. Sorry for the delay. The way that I solved this problem was through Outlook. I sync with Outlook, and I believe that I went in and deleted them from there. I believe that if you go into the Calendar in Outlook, and select "Events" for the current view, you may find some strange looking events. Mine were events that started out with a couple of blank spaces. I believe they were birthdays/anniversaries that didn't have any names in them, only spaces. At any rate, you should already have SOME indication as to the name of the events, and you should look for those and try to delete them.
I have since then flashed a couple of times, so I'm not sure if it got fixed by flashing or with the Outlook solution. Needless to say, I haven't had this problem since, so I suspect that it was a random problem that got fixed at least by reflashing. Sorry.

I fixed it through outlook as well. Though I did find some way to see the event on the phone. Thanks!
Hi all,
I've searched with the above terms and am either missing something, or it hasn't been asked before!
When you set an appointment or add a contact you can assign it a catagory. EG business, vacation, personal etc.
How do you delete those catagories? I have several I don't use anymore and want rid. I can see how to add more, but not delete existing ones.
I'm running WM6 hence putting it in this sub-forum, mods please feel free to move it to the general section if more suitable!
Cheers
Steve
I use Pocket Informant 2007 for category management, and it does the trick quite neatly. I believe you can also do it from within MS Outlook (not POutlook, but the desktop version!)... but cannot vouch for it, I just use it for synchronizing.
Thanks for that. You can delete the catagories for Desktop Outlook, but it doesn't sync the ones on the device so they are still there...
I'll have to check out Pocket Informant!
I have Windows Mobile 6.1 which syncs with Exchange 2007. Exchange sorts all mail automatically into different folders.
Is there anyway to add search folders to Pocket Outlook? If I had search folders I could see all unread mails or all todays mail in one place instead of having to search thru all folders for unread mails...
Another question regarding Pocket Outlook, is there a way to have the today screen report about unread mails in all folders not just the inbox?
Anybump?
The Windows Mobile/Exchange experience is so cool, except for this little annoyance...
Doesn't anyone care about this bumping thing? Don't you use folders or what?
I would also like to know if this is possible, though I am suspecting not...
I would give a testicle to have search folders and some way to view another user's calendar on my WM phone.
Search folders require indexing which would be a major hurdle on WM.
Anyone else using the built in mail app w/ Exchange and it not showing subfolders or any other folders than the inbox/trash/sent items/ and starred items?
Nope. Exchange sync works just fine right out of the box.
I also dont see all of my folders.
I am having the same issues. My folders are not sub folders in the inbox. Instead, they sit along side of the inbox folder in the hierarchy. This is how Mail.app creates them in OSX. My searches have not been very fruitful except for some forum posts from last summer stating people had the same issue on their HTC phones and HTC blames Android itself. I find this hard to believe since my Droid X Exchange sync, with the same exact Exchange server, worked flawlessly.

I got the same headache as you. Atrix build-in exchange works fine but XOOM sucks.
I can see all my folders.... ?
maybe you are talking about folders in a .pst folder, in that case yes you will not see them.

Agreed. OP, check to see how the desktop client is managing your mailbox.
Root Cause
All,
I think I've finally found a page which describes the root of the issue:
<can't post link, but look for issue id 9017 in the google code android project.>
In this page, it states that Androids Exchange support will only sync folders of type 12 ("User-created Mail"). It seems that when a user creates folders with Mail.app in OSX by using the "New Mailbox" command, the folders show up in Exchange as folder type 1 instead ("User-created folder (generic)").
The work around is to get your Exchange account hooked up to Outlook, at least temporarily. While in Outlook, rename all your Mail.app created folders as <folder_name>_old (or something similar). Then, create the folder again, this time with regular name using Outlook's "New Folder" functionality. Finally, drag all of the mail items out of the "..._old" folder and into the new folder you just created.
Once Outlook finishes syncing these changes with the Exchange server, you should now be able to see the folders within the stock Android mail program.
Apparently, according to the bug report, this issue is replicated both in the stock Android Mail application and the HTC Sense version of the Mail application. It needs to be fixed or enhanced in both applications.
thanks! been trying to solve this forever. appreciate it HokiePerogi
Thank you! That worked for me! Go into the Outlook Web App online and create new folders and move your emails into those folders. These newly made folders now show up on my S3's stock exchange app.
Hello,
My company uses hosted Exchange Server for about 200 users, we have been using BB for many years, now we are free to go anyway we want.
Questions: When viewing e-mails from exchange account, can we move them to folders and when moving folders, can we type the name of the folder or do we have to scroll to find the one and then tap to move it? Or is there any app/add-on or customization we can get to allow this?
Also, do all folders get automatically synched to phone, or do we have to select which ones? I hope it syncs them all with no questions, especially when a new one is created on outlook.
Last question, is there a unified inbox for all folders, so e-mails in all folders (not just all accounts) displayed in one screen with icons next to them indicating they are in a folder? If not, that's cool.
I am just trying to move from BB to Windows Phone, and trying to figure out if it has the features I use most frequently.
Answers would really be appreciated.
You can move emails to folders. You must select the folder from a list. There are no apps or customizations AFAIK to change that.
All folders don't automatically get synced, but when you select a folder for the first time you get the option of turning on sync for that folder. Actually to be honest I am not sure if it syncs the folder just that once or if it will continue to sync that folder automatically.
There is no unified-folder view.
Thanks for the reply.
Someone answered this question else where with:
I figured it out recently, just click on bottom right "..." and you will see all the options you are looking for, all folders are there and can be selected + unified messaging....

Is this possible? i don't own a WP7 device, so I can't try, can you check this please? Is this only for unified messaging from multiple accounts?
Regarding folder sync, the reason I asked is because if it automatically syncs all from exchange server, when you create a new folder on Outlook, you would not have to go back to you WP and select it. Is that the case?
Sync folders are not added automatically, you need to do so manually. The only folders synced by default are Inbox and Sent. Drafts can not be synced. All others can be but you have to set it up manually.
The assumed use case is that a user will only have a few folders inportant enough that they want to use the data and storage to sync them on the phone. Out of some 20-ish folders, I only sync 3 on my phone; the rest aren't time-critical. Exchange rules do a pretty good job of filtering the important from the unimportant for me. This way I can turn on the notification for new mail and have it mean something, rather than just have the phone buzzing all day (I get 300+ emails every day at work).
Just to add to this. They are not synced automatically but are listed automatically. You choose the folder then tell it to sync. after that it will follow the default settings for your exchange account and receive emails pushed.
Also you can pin any of those folders to your start screen. I have one for the directors, one for the CEO and one for staff that is always on my start screen.
We are using exchange 2010 at our office and it pretty much rocks. Also IE9 on Windows phone mango fully supports all outlook web mail options. Works great to access the extra calendars like rooms and such.
In your contacts also you can search the exchange server for an address. Exchange support rocks in windows phone.
Also download the emulator, setup an account and try it out. I think that's possible at least as you can test apps on the emulator.
lastly it also follows exchange rules. You can wipe the phone from (even the user can wipe there own) right through OWA on exchange 2010. Also you can set rules to force pin locks and i think although i haven't tried it, limit what the user can do.
Oh and one more thing... it has sharepoint built in. I haven't tried it yet as i just set up a sharepoint foundation server to pitch to the admins once i've worked more on it. That and onenote
