Touch Pro Slooooooow Problems. PLEASE HELP! - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have an HTC Touch Pro with a 8gb storage card. I need to know why its running so slow it is so sluggish I want to kill myself lmao. I did the Advanced Config stuff. Does anyone have a good complete list of tweaks for the touch pro to speed this thing up and keep the damn battery from dying so much.
It's Sprint btw.

You should report more detailed information... Your case is definitely subjective no one will take the trouble to concentrate based on your info

I have the touch pro for sprint, this helped out a lot with the battery, and also provided a noticeable performance increase.

Anyone else think the Kaiser is too slow?

Hi all,
I'm wondering how many other people dislike the speed of the Kaiser. I've tried all the roms on here, and in my eyes it just doesn't seem to be as fast as it should be; the hardware is a big jump over the Wizard, and the Touch, and yet this sometimes feels like it's the same speed.
I tend to think my Hermes ran better than my Kaiser, albeit without the built in GPS.
Am I alone on this? Does anyone have any helpful tips (beyond running all the performance settings up in Advanced Config, or similar). I'm talking about freezing during use, missing keys when typing emails or messages, lagging in IE, and slowness switching apps.
you can increase the speed by upping the cache. I think the advanced editing app will allow you to do this. kaiser is fast...after tweaks.
My opinion, but my Tilt -- with a stock ROM -- blows the doors off my old TyTN -- even when it was completely tweaked out.
Of course YMMV...
with Dutty Hybrid rom no 4 it's fast.... I'm pretty pleased with the performance compared to any other rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342500
Faster than TyTN for sure. There's one more tweak I need to check out though....

Would be nice if you could list your tweaks here. Thanks!
Oh yes, I am disappointed about its graphical speed, but we all know this is due to the fact that HTC didn't make any driver for the integrated 2d/3d accelerator.
For the rest, browsing the web and other uses, I think the speed is OK (but not exceptional) once you have used the tweak utility you can find here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898
download the utility, run it on your Kaiser, and modify all the "cache" parameters.
coming from a wizard...this is super fast. Wait til we are able to change page pools.

The problem with all WM6.5 roms is that they run out of memory pretty soon. This restricts speed and ability to multitask.
I mean I have not used the new IE for browsing at all, coz I cant. And when I look at task manager - I only have Activesync, Outlook and Contact Manager open.
I know there are background processes and perhaps Phone is the worse culprit with memory leaks ... but the 6.1 ROMS run much better.
I used the FingerMe series, Tribu series, Simply Everything, Gardeners and this morning, reflashed to JustStable V4.

Thanks Dear Peter , Could you please give me the best link of wm for p4350(your suggestion )???
True, we are doing the best we can with what we've got. If you're looking for a fast operating software then you have the wrong device. It's not whose OS you have on your device - but which device you have..
If you want fast you need a phone that has a larger bank of memory for programs, not so much storage ram. Then you can change the page-pool for that device to a higher level. You see my TribU2U ROMs are all using 3mb page-pool; it increases the program memory by 5mb. But the downside is it decreases the actual usage speed.
So like I said, if you're looking for speed, you're gonna need to use a different phone, because the Wing/Herald is a very limited in resources.
Especially if you're looking to use TouchFLO - The Wing/Herald devices were not meant for it - They were not even meant for WM6.5. So you're right in saying a WM6.1 ROM would be better for the device.
If you scroll down to the third post in my TribU2U thread you will see that I have made my ROM in all the COMs out there including WM6.1. And they have TouchFLO.
Remember one thing, when you are running more than one process in a Wing/Herald to disable TouchFLO in Settings/HOME >> Items screen. This will give you more memory and speed to work with.
Cheers,
Trib.

Trib - most certainly agree with you here. Its not that any of the WM 6.5 are bad. In fact, they are awesome given that you cooks managed to get them running on 64MB Ram, its the RAM is the limiting factor.
WM6.5 is really pushing the Wings resources and again, its great that you have managed a decent stable ROM.

Hi Exodusoffg - Aserg's has the most beautiful ROM in my opinion. Used it for the majority of the time on my wing. I used to flash opentouch and the other popular ROMS back then and continue to return back to Aserg's because for some reason, the speed and functionality just clicked.
I wish he had continued cooking for Wing/Herald.

Sense 3.0 Speed in Sensation vs EVO 3D

I checked the below video from Androidcentral.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMioPBv4PbI&feature=player_embedded
Looks like the EVO 3D got better handling on graphics speed. Is this because of the extra RAM? I just bought sensation and i still see some lag in overall touch and scroll experience. Its not bad but not very good either considering the beast hardware. Hope this can be solved by ROM chefs or by HTC themselves when they release a patch or something...
It is a sexy device ,the speed is pretty good for me I really don't get lag ,the data problems could just be some peoples service area ,but overall I'm loving the phone

Yep there are a number of people experiencing this with the Sensation including me. I'm getting mine exchanged but I have a feeling this is going to be an issue until we get an OTA
I have no doubt that there is much performance to be gained from these devices.
The ram isn't the reason. Probably just coding, I wouldn't worry about it.
For those of you who are familiar with HTC, do updates usually improve the speed and smoothness of the phone? And how about battery?

Yes and yes. Normally.
If they don't the community here certainly will.
I saw that video yesterday and it gave me hope. Like many of you have said, I doubt it's the memory memory that's causing the lag. I'm sure with a few tweaks here and there they can speed up sense 3.0 on this device.
Im really very curious as to what is causing people lag. Mine is butter smooth and currently lag free

Like the Evo 3D on the video?
Who actually cares, though? The phone flies as it is and the next OTA will only improve that. Just enjoy the phone and stop comparing it to everything else
The difference is obvious and I haven't seen any Sensation that smooth on any video.
I'm pretty sure it's not the ram that causes lag. If it was ram Desire S Sense 3.0 port wouldn't have been so smooth like on that video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmiQs2SIKU8
Pretty sure the 1.34.401.1 ROM runs better from what I've heard so the next OTAs to come out will prob address the issue
I'm more than sure the evo 3D is just running a updated version of sense than ours. Stop stressing people.. Sheesh.
Sent from my HTC Pyramid using the XDA Premium App.
I think its more to do with the screen (panel) and its refreshing rate and rendering speeds. Evo 3D screen might be totally different from sensartion as its a 3D display. I could be wrong and i wish i am wrong. I am hoping for a OTA or custom Rom solve this... still sensation is a better device and i am loving it...
What bloatware does the Evo 3D have loaded onto it? At least those of us on T-Mobile US are stuck with an anti-malware engine that we can't uninstall. It can't be helping.

What app is that? ill uninstall it NOW. Yes i'm on TMOUSA.
I don't think it's a RAM issue at all. I think it's one of two issues. Either it's all of the bloatware that starts up automatically every time you try to close it and some of which is not just running in the background. It is running in the foreground such as QIK video chat. I have never even used it before but it constantly want to run in the foreground. The other reason is that Sense 3.0 might not be fully optimized yet.
Here is why I think the bloatware is causing the issues. After I use a app that restarts everything (Fast Reboot) the system will be showing about 300mb of free memory is available. If you wait 30 minutes, the system then says less than 150mb of free memory available. I really do think that some of the bloatware is causing performance issues and memory leaks.
What is also weird is that I have had 4 Sensations with the same exact apps on them. I have noticed a difference in speed between all 4 of them. The one that I have now is the quickest and there is no stutter at all. The second one I had was lagging so bad that I just returned it for another. This tells me it's all software related.
Mine doesn't really lag but I can't get that carousel effect anymore. I've learned that if the phone works well keep it cuz you never know what kind of crappy replacement you might get

Is this tablet really this slow and buggy? Worth rooting?

I just bought this device as a toy and a test as a computer tablet. I found it to be slow and buggy. I do notice that in browsing heavy pages like the real facebook page it IS faster than my Galaxy Note 1 but in almost everything else, the Note is faster and snappier. I have disabled lots of apps, resett it, no change. So my question, I guess this one is really worth rooting and installing a good rom Im used to the Cyanogen to my phones, is Cyanogen working good for this tablet?
Im still marveled by the quality of the screen, I dont think I ever have seen such a good screen! If I just now could get it working somewhat near as good as my Note 1 I will be a happy panda
Thanx in advance peeps
My experience is that it is NOT slow and buggy.
I could compare it with an iPad3 last week and I think they are very close.
You can't compare it with a note because due to the much higher resolution the gpu has to do so much more computing. That is why the nexus7 is faster than the tf700 due to it's smaller screen AND resolution

I'm on stock rom with browser2ram and force2gpu enabled. My table is very fast. Just remember before you flash a new rom, just do factory reset(data wipe 3 times). Also root is good (allow you to install rooted app like Titinium backup, SetcPU etc..), but don't unlock unless absolutely necessary (void your warranty), or you have time or like to play with custom rom.
Ok, sounds like I will root it then and try to tweak it, Im not satisfied with the speed with it sofar. Its seems stable now after I resetted it, before the reset, it crasched 2-10 times a day. My idea was that since the GPU and CPU is older in the Note, The Tegra 3 would be able to handle the FullHD resolution but it doesnt seem to .. I definatly want a ROM without the garbage crap
I plan to use it to write alot on, can you recommend a good office app? Or a browser that google docs work good with
Is games running good for you?? The new demanding ones I tried before resetting was really slow and laggy.
Thanx for the replys, I hope I get this baby running smoother

Yes, all games, videos, pictures, and documents and apps are function normally. There are 3 most popular office apps:
1. Documents to go (this can view google docs also. Paid version only)
2. Kingsoft office
3. Polaris office (currently polaris has a bug with fonts).
My stock browser can view google docs fine. I think stock browser is the best in my opinion (have tried boat, chrome, mozilla etc...)

The Infinity's performance is not CPU bound and is not due to the higher res. It's I/O limited. The CPU is plenty fast enough. As soon as the memory config requires the system to start hitting the /sdcard memory, the system will be subject to random stuttering/pausing because the sdcard memory is the cheapest, slowest, crappiest flash RAM ASUS could find.
This is why stuff like browser2ram is seen as a huge boost for people that do a lot of browsing and it is also why the stuttering varies from user to user/session to session since the RAM situation in the system varies from config to config and moment to moment during use. Some users who's config has a lot of free DRAM and do not frequently use stuff that hits the sdcard partition hard, see almost no performance issues with the tablet.

I really don't want to go thru all this, but if I want to keep chipping away trying to find a better Android experience then so be it.
Pain in the ass...
Thanx for the info! That was my biggest thoughts about the Infinity, "is the RAM enough?" and it isnt but then Ill just have to multitask less and try to tweak it. And perhaps dont install multipicture wallpaper.. but thats one of the things that I love about my Note

What rom would you suggest for getting the most out of the Infinity?

I own both the Infinity and the Acer a700 and after the a700 got JB earlier today, I will say that the Infinity lags more than the a700 (and I was very happy with the Infinity). Colour me shocked.
The only time I really ever experience any lag or sluggishness is when browsing. I will be rooting once there is a method discovered for Jelly Bean on the Infinity. I'd really like to give browser2ram a shot. I've heard it does wonders for browsing.

From G3 to S6

What's up all. I currently have the LG G3 for Verizon. I have it rooted and running xposed. I am waiting on a 64gb S6 that I won in eBay.
My question is for anyone that has moved from the G3 to S6. What are your likes/dislikes for the S6 and how does it compare negatively or positively.
Sent from my VS985 4G using XDA Free mobile app
For me the G3 was the limit on comfortable size, so this is obviously easier for me to hold. I do miss the buttons on the back but that's not to say the buttons on the S6 are bad or misplaced, I just prefer them on back.
The battery is worse and even with little workarounds it's just not as good as the G3 on that front. Fast Charging and wireless charging help with that but the battery is is biggest downfall in my opinion.
I feel like most of the reviews out their reflect my opinions pretty closely.
S6 is perfect except for RAM management. Its like having a Task manager that is ultra aggressive and closes any and every program in the background. It feels like i have a phone that has 500 mb of RAM. SMH

The S6 is crazy fast. You should not need a task manager. Android is Linux based and it uses unused ram for disk caching. Here is a great explanation.
http://www.linuxatemyram.com/
Verizon just released the Samsung update that fixes the over agressive ram management. As for the battery, there are some things you can do. I won't go over it all here. Just look it up in the Q&A and general sections.
Are you sure this was a fix. I thought users yesterday were reporting no changes in regards to this? I really would be happy if this turns out true

You didnt undertand my post. Thanks for trying tho.
Came from a G3 about a week ago and couldn't be happier. I loved my G3 and still find myself double tapping the screen to turn it on the reaching for the buttons on the back, but other than that I couldn't be happier. The size of the G3 got to be a bit cumbersome at times, and the battery life believe or not was worse with the G3. Could not be satisfied with the switch.
My battery BLOWS away my GF's G3. Both took phones off at 6AM. She was dead by 4PM. Mine still has 20% at 10PM. We were shooting HD video and pics all day and uploading. Now hers was stock and there are def issues with the OTA 5.0 on G3 but still.
If you have Cell Standby issues using a huge amount of battery do the fix.

If you look at ram usage nothing appears to have changed. What I have noticed though is that I no longer get the screen redraws and sluggish behavior over just a short amount of time. They did something. I don't think we will see the full effect though until we get the next update that closes the memory leak.
I really appreciate the input from everyone. I can't keep 2 phones, but I'm not going to rush and sell my g3.

Verizon just released the Samsung update that fixes the over agressive ram management. As for the battery, there are some things you can do. I won't go over it all here. Just look it up in the Q&A and general sections.

Unfortunately this update did not fix the overagressive ram management

I don't think it resolved the issue entirely. But I don't have screen redraws anymore. Hopefully the next update that's supposed to close the memory leak will fix it once and for all. I'm kind of disappointed in Google for releasing the pile of garbage that was lollipop.

Maybe it improved slightly but most of the time I still get redrawn where I shouldn't. Especially when going back to the launcher.
