Selling my sp5 - HTC Tornado

Sorry guys, I screwed something up and had to cancel and re-list it. I'm not the most experienced ebayer. The new link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330231627718

guys can anybody give me some advice on this? Pleaseeeeeee. lol

I not quite sure if you are eager to know that I bought my SP5 on ebay for 68 EUR a couple of months ago, practically new and without the slightest scratch
So don't sell this device, it's perfect!

106 dollars? are you kidding me? 106? That's it? you know I paid 256 right? 256! Heck, all the online stores that sell them new are over 400! What am I supposed to do? I need the money now but I could probably sell it for more on the street, more than 100 effing dollars! Are trying to tell me that everyone thinks my asking price is too high? I REALLY need to know. I know a lot of people have looked at it cause I have a counter on the site and I'm willing to bet a lot of them are from here so I would think i'd be getting more than one response, not that i don't appreciate it. lol, cause i do, but i really need a lot of opinions! Be honest people, please, you're not going to hurt me, man.

Dont Want to break your heart but someone got a decent bargain:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230244606516&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013

fine, screw the price! the tmobile sda brand new in box is only going for like 170 or 150 or something so screw it! OK! But that doesn't explain why no one is even bothering to bid on it! I'm sorry for being so upset. It isn't with anyone it's just I need to get rid of this phone! ASAP! Isn't there anyone here who wants to buy it? I mean the sda and the sp5 are the same frigging thing after all but it doesn't explain why an sp5 costs 470 dollars brand new! (google it) I don't have a lot of time. SO... maybe I got screwed and over paid when I bought my phone for 256 dollars? Can some one just help me out and tell me what I should do? This is really starting to bum me out. I'd be fine but you can't access files over wireless networks with a smartphone os and I really need a touch screen now. I was just hoping to get some of my investment back and MAYBE, when I thought the phone was worth 500 bucks, make a slight profit from it towards my new phone. I'm a frigging college student who just got a job as a busser at logans today, I bought this phone with birthday money! I'm not exactly rolling in it. It was a risky move in the first place. crap.

i decided to drop the buy it now price. i don't care how much i get for it now.

I just bought one for $140...
Because my last one got used so much the USB port desoldered itself. And of course no amount of compressed air makes the joystick work normally. I will bid on yours as a spare.
I think most of us are waiting for the Xperia X1.

Cracked LCD, i hate my friends...

Well... I was out with my friends, they were screwing around, one was looking at my phone then he saw the name of a girl i'm interested in, decided to call her, i tried to grab the phone back, he tossed it to his girlfriend who missed it, it hit the ground, and now, i have a 'bleeding' lcd under the glass.
Expensive phones and alcohol do not mix.
So looks like i'm going to have to go down to the mall and get myself a cheapy replacement phone for the next couple weeks.
Looking at a replacment I see "pocket pc techs" a $250 repair to fix the LCD.
Any chance anyone knows a cheaper repair place? in north america... didn't think so but it was worth asking
Ugh, well i guess all my questions will be on hold...
But bleh, just as i got it working 99% as i liked it after having it for 4 months.
Oops... wrong forum... meant for the regular HTC universal... hehe guess i've been spending so much time in this one.
don't they have insurance of some kind?
in holland we have something called "WA-verzekering"
if i break my friends phone by accident, i will pay for the damage and, it might be covered by this insurance... depending on the situation.
'playing catch' isnt covered i think..
but accidently push it of the table is...

Didn't your 'friends' offer to pay for the repair?
They could go half each, one for the crap throw and one for not catching it.
Hey guys,
Nope insurance here wouldn't cover something like that, as for offereing to cover the cost... even if they offered i wouldn't let them. $450 would really mess them up for a month or two, but i can afford to take the hit.
I'm so sorry Balur!
It happened to me last summer...
Hey thanks for the sympathy...
Well I just got back from the Roger's store with a nice and simple Nokia 2610. No camera, no music, absolutly tiny.
Swapped the sim, and its working, so I guess it will do.
$300 to PocketPC Techs
$130 for replacement phone without a contract.
$20 for shipping to the repair place...
UGH...
Oh well, i kinda like this little phone, it will be nice when i go to the bar or a club or something, swap the sim rather then taking my Pocketpc and carrying something large, and that i'm afraid of having stolen.
Oh well... lol.
I guess i'll be posting again in a few weeks

Well... welcome to North America... land of entitlement, and bad manners... lol
I bought two so if I broke one at some point I would have spare parts
Woot, fedex man just came, I'm back i the game
Faster then i had thought, kinda funny though since I just bought a cheap small phone so I wouldn't be stranded.
Oh well now I can swap my SIM when I don't want to be carrying my brick (to the bar and such places)

yep, im doing the same.
im using my previous Sony Ericsson P910i as a "party phone". hehe
I went with a Samsung D807x my phone company was ice enough to subsadize it if i signed a 2 year contract (I was month to month), and it worked out anyways becuase the rate plan I wanted required a contract.
LOL.
Its small, its sexy, the quality is pretty good... but... i keep putting my finger on where the antena is... and it causes a hit to quality.
I've been through 3 phones since I sent my universal in though. A cheap pay as you go phone, which i swaped my SIM into, then returned with a week to go becuase it sucked. Also I borrowed a friends piece of crap, then I got that one on Monday, lol.
BLEH!!! 2 dead pixels... gotta send it back... lol
My screen cracked but I haven't fixed it yet. There are repair kits on ebay for ~180 if you're willing to do it yourself... which I am. However, my bank account isn't willing to cough up just yet. haha.
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but I'm glad it got fixed!
I saw the kits, but figured $180 for me to screw up or $250 for a professional to do it...
I decided on the professional
One of the pixels revived (guess it was just stuck), there's one left, always green.
They've agreed to swap screens, but I think I'm going to wait untill Monday and see if this one revives after a few days of usage.
You should be able to contact HTC for the price of fixing it. A friend of mine works in a HTC location in the UK and that office focus mainly on repair.
You can give them a call by finding the numbers on http://www.europe.htc.com/
dead pixels
There is a software to get the dead pixels out. If I find it I'll send you the link but it flashes the screen with different collors to get the dead pixels out. It worked with my MDA screen and never had pixels again.
Program to remove dead pixels
Ok the name of the file is M4V56052.MP4
I have the file so if you PM me your email I'll send it to you. I have to run it like 5-6 times to get the stuck dead pixels out.
I broke my LCD screen last year.
I looked up the parts and ordered an LCD screen strait from China, works perfect. I paid about 70 Euro.

Can I buy the phone`s hardware?

Hello everybody,
I have a question that bugs me quite a bit now.
Saw the real hardware prices of the Nexus one and the iPhones, that costs 174-218$,
and I thought maybe I could buy the hardware and put it all together by myself.
Is it possible in any way to do such a thing?
I really can`t see why should I pay 600$~ for a phone that costs 1/3 of it.
Thanks.
lol...
You can check on ebay if anyone is parting out the nexus one but considering People can at MAX buy 5 of them thats at 530$ and then lil profit you will be paying more specially this early in game. Maybe later when phone is more common and people are selling broken ones you may be able to do this but its kinda early for that.

What would you do?

So as many here know I have a perfect refurbed phone. It has been problem free for like 5 or six weeks. I mean awesomely so. I have however been screaming my head off because I never made it past 14 days four times. And ended up with a refurbed scratched (but otherwise perfect!) phone. Which really bothered me. It was the damn point. So I have the ear of an executive. But was pretty much resigned to the fact......but, After having another issue with billing, I'd contacted this same exec and after straightening out my issue, I restated my case for the umpteenth time. The Exec finally relented and will be sending me a new sealed one! I dont recommend anyone bother with this. It really was a lot of effort. A lot of letter writing and screaming and refusals. If this exec had not mistakenly actually told me (in error) that my fifth was going to be a new sealed unit, I likely not have gotten this. Company policy is very clear and pretty much will not allow it. (Just trying to prevent somone else from quoting my experience-I promise it is special circumstances. And well documented (which helped me make my case).
All that said, I'm to recieve this new sealed phone Post paid, then I'm to package and pay for postage to send back the refurbed G2X OR THEY WILL BILL ME $216.00 FOR THIS REFURBED g2X!
As the words came out of the execs mouth, I thought....$216.00 for a perfectly working G2X? Ummmmmmmm.
So I have a barely used problem free Sensation that I paid 129.00 for, a perfectly working refurbed G2X (w/ a sm. scratch and ghost armor covering it), and a sealed new version (updated w/ gb2.3.3) of the G2X.
My gut feeling? Pay the $216. and keep the refurbed G2X,and sell the new unopened G2X and the practically new Sensation.
What would you do?
I just bought a Sportster, so I could use the money. Got my eye on some nice chrome accessories...
Keep the refurbished. Sell the other 2

Well, I think I'll move this to the classifieds section. See if it generates any offers.

If you sign a two year contract...
I have found that karma can be a real *****. Do what you feel is right, yes T-mo has caused people grief with this phone and the returns. Stealing is just plain stealing.
How is paying the 216. stealing? They're giving me the opportunity to buy it by my reckoning. If I even remotely considered this immoral it would be an easy decision, I would return it. So again, how is this stealing? My question has more to do with the known vs the unknown, value vs whether it will be a good one. not any moral question. If I got two in the mail for instance, I would not have to ask what to do.
My question is whether I should just pay for the refurbed one because I know it is PERFECT....except for the scratch.
I'm very afraid, as has been posted here, of getting a sixth bad G2X. From what I've heard it is not certain that these newer ones are anything more than old ones with the new problematic update already installed.
Geesh, now you got me bummed out thinking this is an ethical issue. I honestly not for one second thought there was any question whether it would be dishonest. Anyone else care to comment? I'm not going to do anything based on anyones opinion. I'm confident of my high ground here. But it never occured to me that someone else might think me dishonest. I still think it is simply a sale if I pay the 216.00, not subterfuge.
As I said when I asked the question, it was more like which end result would you pick? For me, it is all about the known.....people are still experiencing screen bleed AND reboots with the new ones from what I've read. This is all uncharted territory for me. On one hand I felt ripped by not having a matching box and that damn scratch.....so now I got what I freakin' wanted but I'm afraid to even break the seal.....and start all over with a bad phone.
I don't think it's an ethical issue at all... 'cause you pay an honest $216 for the extra phone.
However, at this time I'm not sure $216 is a profitable wholesale price point.
How bad do you want an extra G2x?
I now right? I'm thinking it's surely worth $400. Maybe more if the update comes out. That's sealed. If I open it, it becomes used and if it has screen bleed or reboots then I can't in all conscience sell it for much more than trash LOL. Hence my dilemma. When I asked, I intended to keep the new one. It was the $216. that threw me off.

Serious financial thought (Meme face)

So i have/ had a G2x since 4/20 but ive been checking ebay and craigslist and it seems the overall value of this phone is going down.. i don't know why cause i love the phone personally and wouldn't want to let it go.. but I bought off contract for 500 bucks when it first came out and after looking online im looking at loosing atleast 300 dollars.. I've also noticed T-mobiles giving away sensations now as a replacement and those are going for more money than the G2x which is blowing my mind cause i think they blow... but idk helpful feedback would be nice im thinking just switching it out and selling it right away pretty much to make most of my money back and just buy the next best thing after? hows it sound .. it just hurts lossing that much money is like 4 months over a awesome phone
hey man thats what happens when you buy a phone outright on launch. there's ALWAYS crazy deals later. like the g2x for free or $1 or whatever tmobile had. just gotta let it go bro
If you like it why dump it? Just because someone else doesnt like theirs? Heres some words of wisdom.........If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Unless dealing with a collectors item, phones, and tech devices in general, are a terrible financial investment. You have to find just the right deals and timing to make any sort of ROI.
I buy devices when I need or want them, for practical or entertainment use and with the expectation that they'll be half price in a few months.
Preach on man!!!
Well actually never pay retail is the lesson. I don't have a contract with my plan and been saving it to get a phone. But, did pick up a G2 off craigslist. Paid 140. Wasn't in bad shape, used but not abused.
I too paid for my G2X out of pocket. Only have one issue but I can live with it. Its better to find a bargain, cause this Android fix is expensive. I have 3 phones now. And G2x still top phone for me.
I just received two of them free with 2-year contract on their last day of web-only free advertizements. I'm glad I waited.

How to spot the fake??

Looking at buying a second version of my phoen for messing around on, can even be scratched up, i dont care for that purpose lol.
But ive heard alot recently about fake samsung products, and i want to be sure that the used phone i buy is another legit samsung product - in order to be sure any rom i try with the second one, ifi like it alot, will also work the same on my legit/main phone.... but how do you spot the fake, online??
Im looking at this one right now... but can i count on it being real?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SAMSUNG-SGH-...201?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4193d0aac9
I dont want to spend alot on it since its only a secondary... which is why i dont want to buy another of the one i did buy. and that was also a year ago and the seller/item is probably gone. the seller has 99% positive feedback,
*or* can anyone recommend somewhere else to buy one at a good rate for a not-perfect-looking but still works version of this phone??
They only make fakes/clones of high-end flagship models. You can be assured that this 4.5 year old phone from a seller with 99.1% positive feedback over 50000+ transactions is genuine.
