Speaker phone problem - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

hello.
i have a problem with my universal:
i can't get my speaker phone to work (the phone doesn't ring, and no sound can be heard (media player or any program)
the speaker located in the lcd works, so i can hear when i talk with someone
i temporarly changed both speakers with 2 that work, and there is the same problem.
i changed the rom, but no change
anyone have any ideeas about what the problem is ? (and perhaps a solution ?)
thank you.

maybe an internal bus break if you tested the connections with known working speakers

I occasionally get this problem after I've used the headphone socket - it's as though the socket gets stuck and thinks that there's still a jack in there, and so mutes the external speakers. I find that pushing the kacj in again, giving it a wiggle, and pulling it out normally does the trick.
Cheers,
Steve.

i've just tried this with some headphones (i hear normally through them), but wiggling and pulling it doesnt do the trick

a broken bus? there's no way to fix it without a lot of expertise, knowledge and specialized equipment. Sorry...

the experience part is the one thing that i need
so.... the broken bus thing.... is a hardware problem that an authorised service can fix (for a lot of money, of course), but is fixable, right ?
thanks

headset problem

I have some troubles with my headset input. It's broken down and i cant repair it. The main problem is that i cant talk through phone becouse device "thinks" that the headset is in... Loudspeaker doesnt work...
Whats the most funny in it? i can talk through devices microphone only with pluged headset. Simply, with pluged headset phone works normaly (i can listen to music, call, talk by loudspeaker)
I guess i will not repair it so is it possible to disable default headset profile, or disconnect, turn off this profile or headset input?
Im owner of Qtek 8310, WM6 Standard v3.7 (FINAL!)
Thx in advance, greeting
There's no software hack that I've heard of. I've always assumed that insertion of the connector into the jack was like flipping a hardware switch.
Maybe be brave and disassemble and clean out your phone? Check if something's jammed in the jack?
I've had such a problem couple of months ago. I sent my phone to the customers service and they replaced the jackplug. After replacing, all works fine.
well, as u can see im from poland. Where should i send my phone?
Can u give me an adress, please? How much is it if i tell them to repair that input and exchange cover? (my cover looks awful, its destroyed)
Thx for answers,
Well, I bought it online (via a dutch webshop), so I could send my phone to a repaircentre wicht they have a contract with. Maybe the place where you bought it offers such a service?
I had the same problem on my qtek 8310!
The problem can be fixed if you got some electro spray!
If you spray some on your headset and take it in and out a few times, it should solve the problem
is that like compressed air?
I had the same issue with my 2125 when i first got it. It never thought I took the headset out. What worked to me was taking an uncoated paperclip, unfold it, and wiggle it around in the headphone jack until the PROFILE went from HEADSET back to NORMAL. May not be the case for you, but....

I think it's called "contact spray"
I also faced this problem, wiggling the the headset plug in the jack seemed to help, never ran into the problem again.

Very thank's all boy programmatore!

i found the solution.. here's how it goes
play some music, then take your jack, push it in, then start pulling it out slowly level by level, until u hear the sound playing from the speaker again, when you do, pull out the jack fast. that solved my problem, hope htis help others too.

Speaker doesn't work

My vox it's three months old, from one week I started to notice a very disturbing behavior. People are able to hear me but I can''t hear them. It seems like the internal speaker is flawed. If I use the miniUSB head phones it works fine and If I turn on the conference speaker it works too. Otherwise it just doesn''t work anymore. I have soldered directly speaker's wires on the board but the problem it's the same. What can I do?
Please, nobody can help me? I have tried also to add reg key wm6SoundFixRegistryImport but the problem it's the same. I'm sure that other people have this problem.
this seems like a hardware problem which you can get serviced by sending your phone to htc.
No, I can't because I haven't warranty. I'm sure that isn't a hardware problem because I can hear a little rustle.
i m facing exactly same problem as well. spearkerphone works fine but earphone do not worki.. if u find any solution then let me know too...
THe problem it's the speaker, I tried another from a motorala and it work! Where Can I find htc parts?
can u guide me how to open the htc phone to reach earphone speaker u mentioned?

Headphone adapter - no audio

Has anyone found that their headphone adapter has stopped working for some reason?
Was working fine, and now seems that the phone no longer recognizes the adapter. Power passes through just fine - however, can't get audio out.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions? I don't have a spare adapter to test.
Thanks,
Chip
I'm afraid that is the test. Either use your headset on a different phone, or a different headset on your phone.
You should be able to test a headset at your local phone retailler (just tell them you want to check it works before you buy it)
I'm having the same problem, just not at your stage yet.
I have audio but it's obvious there are some connections that aren't quite lining up since I get mono out of both speakers now instead of stereo and moving the connector at all gives me the typical "short out" garble you hear when you've disrupted a short in an audio cable.
The only time anything is plugged into my phone is when it's laying flat on a desk (I even make sure the wire comes out straight with NO pressure on it at all). I've never forced the cable, had it in my pocket where it could have put pressure on the connection, or anything else that might have caused the problem...
I think it's just wear. I can still charge the phone just fine, it's just audio that is screwed up now. I'm just waiting for the day when I don't hear anything...
...and I'll probably never buy HTC again... since this happened with my Star Trek too.

So I went to the AT&T store - a headset worked fine.
I went out and bought a new headphone adapter - same thing, doesn't get recognized by the Phone, so still SOL.
Question - any idea of this could be software related? I had installed skype (uninstalled to see if this was the cause) and wondering if that did something to the headset settings.
Any value in reimaging with a new ROM to see if this fixes it before calling AT&T warranty?
Thanks,
chip

If you have flashed cooked ROMs then you will have to flash back to stock for warranty reutrn anyway, so this could likely be your issue.
If you're on the stock ROM, then I would suspect hardware.

[Q] Problem with headphone in

Hi,
I've got a problem with the headphone in. When i connect headphones, it works as it should. The problem is when I disconnect the headphones. The symbol indicating that there are still headphones connected, stays in my status bar. So my H1S thinks my headphones are still connected, which is very annoying because for example, my audio isn't working anymore so I can't hear anyone that's calling me.
So how can I solve this problem? Should I start with a factory restore? Or is this most likely a hardware issue?
Has no one else encountered this issue?
Sounds like your jack may be damaged...either that or some file is whacked....could try a hard reset to test...if problem is still there...then your headphone jack is bad...warranty replacement it.
Sent from my HTC One S
Had a similar problem on my HTC Legend, where it would think a headset was plugged in even when not. It went away after a few days. Try cleaning the inside of the jack too.
Just plug in your head phones and pull them out a couple of times. If that doesn't work take a paper clip and just rub some of the connectors inside.
Happened on my old tp2
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
Thanks for the input guys, unfortunately neither the hard reset nor cleaning the jack helped, the problem is still the same. I guess I'll send it back to get it fixed/replaced.

I've got the same problem mate..
Did you manage to find a solution at all??
ONly started happening today.. Im running Trickdroid 5.1

No sound at all

I have a TF101 ( B80KAS179xxx) and from a few days ago I couldn't replay any sound (speakers or headphones, even giving me the headphones connected information in the screen).
I tried to replay all kind of sounds (Youtube, MP3 file, etc) and the sound setup seems normal, with all the volume at the highest level.
As I were a root user using the original ROM from ASUS, I have successfully installed the latest KatKiss release for TF101 in order to check if it was a software/firmware problem.
Now, when I open youtube or any other app with sound it doesn't plays at all. Anyone can help me figure out how to solve this problem? It looks weird not to have sound from speakers and headphones.
Thanks for your help guys!
Nuno
If there is still no sound even after flashing a new ROM then it's likely a hardware fault
Maybe something inside the headphone socket has broken and is disconnecting the speakers like it should when headphones are connected, but also not working for the headphones because it is damaged
Try pushing headphones in and out of the socket a few times fast to try free the moving connectors inside, or see if you can use a thin piece of plastic to make sure nothing is snapped or stuck inside the socket

Sory but I have explained myself wrong: the headphones connection indicator in only shown when I connect headphones (they don't even play any sound at all)
Is there any app or something that can be run in order to check if it is an hardware fault?
Yes I understand, but there could be a fault inside the headphone socket stoping the speakers working, I don't know of any apps that can look for hardware faults but as you have flashed a new ROM id say it is almost definitely hardware causing the problem unless you didn't wipe everything in recovery
Try wiping everything and flash a new rom 100% clean

Sometimes it gives me very short/brief crackling sounds in some events. There can Also exist some kind of motherboard/sOundcard problems no? Is this replaceable? Can i Also replace the headphone socket???
