Does anybody know when a new ROM can be expected for the Magician/iMate/MDA Compact etc.?
I've been experiencing some hickups on my 1.12.00 (big storage) and was kind of hoping to do an upgrade any time soon.

I wonder if you could advise which ROM is the 'best' one to upgrade to? I've had my T-Mobile UK MDA Compact for a few days, just backed-up the ROM, now need to decide which ROM I should move to. Current version is 1.01.00 WWE, Radio 1.00.10. So, will moving to anyone of the above 2 ROMs make a difference and what?

I've just ordered my QTek s100 so the same quesion is floating round my mind too...
IMHO if you're not experienced with flashing ROMs go for the imate upgrade. Trying the big storage might make you hate the JAM if something goes wrong :wink:
Having said that, I went for the Big Storage (not very experienced, but have a good idea).
Also, keep in mind that the Big Storage ROM will soon be out-dated unless someone finds a way to implement the same "hack" to newer ROMs (or Anansky returns to the forum).
Try the I-mate Rom first, the only difference is the storage. If you can live without big storage fine. Also you can try big storage once you are comfortable with your device.
yep go for the imate update (latest version is 1.11) which has better sound quality and more stable than the other.......

I have a HTC Universal ftom T-Mobile UK (London).
I live in Memphis, TN USA.
I unlocked the phone using this forum as a "teacher" & it's been working for me very nicely for about 1 year & 4 months on T-Mobile USA.
It came with WM5 & I've tried to do the notmal upgrades over time - it is currently at:
ROM version: 1.30.114 WWE
ROM date: 04/13/06
Radio version: 1.10.03
Protocal version: 42.44.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.232 WWE
((whatever all that means...?))
Over time I have had wierd things (but small inconsequential things) happen to the phone like wierd battery response, intermittant microphone volume, wierd lockups, reminders not sounding off - stuff like that.
So just for the thought of maybe fixing those little annoyances, I think I'd like to upgrade to WM6.
But......there are so many options & technical jargon on this site, it's just overwhelming. I tried to read & learn, but it's just over my head.
So my thought is that some of you guys & gals that are really smart, could suggest which of the WM6 roms I should get from here.
I don't need a lot of fancy bells & whistles - I just need my phone to work / mail & tasks to work w/ my Outlook / texts & mms & camera to work / wireless and hotspot connectivity to work for surfing the internet....just simple plain stuff like that. ((I was looking at "vanilla" roms, but i'm still not sure)).
And i need it to work in the USA.
Can I get some feedback on what you all think may be the best way to go?
I'd really appreciate it.

I'd recommend Ranjus 7.1 ROM
For me, it is really stable. It also connects to WiFi nicely, and almost everything works.
I can second that. Tried the ROM today and it really lives up to its good reputation. If you want to go for a plain vanilla ROM I'd recommend NNCUONG v2.11.11 -- Just do a search for "new in town" and you can find it. I've used that one for about two months and when it comes to stability, free RAM and flashdisk space nothing can beat it. Either of those two ROMs are a great choice.

As I understand you are not the adventures or daring type, regarding rom upgrading.
So I would recommend you to buy a new battery, which will surelly solve some, if not most of your "weird" problems.

Last week I tried to update my XDA Neo to WM6 - it worked the first time without any problems. After a few days the battery lifetime was very few.
After some time I could not load the battery any more => it seemed to load but WM6 said that the battery was not full.
I could not believe that the battery was broken so I flashed the Neo back to WM5. Now it works absolutely normal!
Is there somebody who can tell me why there is no problem any more?

which wm6 did you try? try another wm6 rom & see if it is the cause. maybe it is the camera version on that rom?
It has been the Prophet ShadoW 2.0 Touch Edition GER - RC1 at the first time and Gullum Prophet Touch IX.
hmmm, try & use the rom from my sig. been using it for a while with no problems.
We have over 200 Polaris units and a significant number (probably half) seem to have deaf/poor reception problems on o2 or any other network. Seems like the radio/phone section is poorespecially when compared to the older Artemis units we have. Anyone else encountered this?

Seem to have cured my own problem by flashing with the new 6.1 rom.
Can anyone advise what the differences are between these 2 WWE ROM versions? Is there any reason to install 19217 over 19209, or is it just for different carriers?

Thanks! I guess what I was looking for was any indication of what might be new -- my x7510 came with 19209 but I'm curious to see what improvements might be available in 19217. It's just a hassle to have to reinstall all my software.

Is it faster then 19209 build?
Does GPS Photo work in this ROM (in 19209 does not)?
What version of HTC Home does it has (if any)? A "big" one or a "small" one?
