duqoin f22 pro pin code got shortened and locked - General Questions and Answers

hi
i have duqoin f22 pro (on the backpanel it says Qin ai life), and one day i set a long PIN code - 9 digits long, and when i locked it, the lockscreen asked for a 4 digit pin code - it stops afte the fourth digit. so i thought maybe it only got shortened from the original 9 digit i choose, so i tried first four digits, than last four, than middel, etc. but with no use.
any suggestions? it says enter pass code so it seems that its not the sim pin code.
i know i can factory reset but i dont want to do it because it has some valuable data that i want to extract.
if theres another way to extract the data via usb i would be glad to hear.
the rom is original, i think. cant get to see the details as its locked.

Dont Know Phone Pin? Help to reset phone?

Hi, a family member passed away a few months ago and I was given her phone by her sister to use if I wanted. She had the phone and charger, and thats it. I stay in the UK and the phone I use is on O2. The phone she had was the Experian L but she had her phone through a contract with virgin media.
When I initally put my sim card in and turned the phone on it said 'virgin media, this phone has been reported lost/stolen'. In order to unclock it from this security lock I needed her insurance company(through virgin) to provide me with a 4 digit pin to unlock the phone. This was very hard to get as the insurance people are different from virgin media, but after a while they agreed to give me the code if I sent a copy of her death certificate in. I did this and got the code thankfully. I was told that I wouldnt be able to use my o2 simc ard in the phone because the handset was locked on Virgin. I was told if I paid £15 I would receive the unlocking code through the post in a week or so.
I did this and got a letter through the door with the instruction on for to unlock the handset. Basically its a 16digit number that I enter and the phone become unlocked. However, after all this Ive just realised I think there is a phone lock on the phone i.e. a pin she must have set herself? I think this because when I power the phone up without a sim, all I can see is the date/time, with her name underneath, and also underneath that is a keypad. When you press any button on the keypad and hit enter it says wrong pin? That happens without a sim card so I presume it is a phone pin lock she had on her phone is that correct? If so, is there any way around this? Ideally I would like to keep whatever pictures etc are on the phone however I realise that might not be possible. Ive tried to download the sony suite however it wont allow me to use the suite because it tells me on the computer I must enter the pin on the phone to continue! bit of a nightmare to be honest.
Any help/suggestions with what I can do? Many thanks
I cant unlock through Pc Companion because Pc Companion needs the screen to be unlocked before it connects the device, and I cant do that.

Hello, do a factory reset to the Phone, but you will loose all the information on it

Strangest of situations about Bootloader

So i have been battling to unlock my bootloader since i got the my phone(end of august). I have not been successful at all and i cannot figure at a solution. I have emailed emuifans and [email protected] to send me my bootloader code to no avail(mailed them about a month ago). So i decided to try and connect 14 straight days just in case this works. I downloaded the chinese APK HiApp and logged in 17 days in a row. I am still faceing the 14 days id wall. So i came here in search of help cause if i expected anything from Huawei i would be a goner by now. So:
1)Is this the correct way to get the bootloader code or i was hitting my head to the wall all this time?
2)Is there a Update i could do so i can get to an unlocked bootloader state?
3)Once you unlock the bootloader and you change firmware is there a possibility that it will get locked again through an update(without you explicitly locking it)?
So far my experience tinkering with this huawei hasn't been the greatest while my previous(p6 and U8800) has been phenomenal. I have a Dual sim DL00

Went, logged in,pressed bootloader, filled the phone details AND it still asks me to wait 14 days. If you see the attachment on my first post you will notice its the website and says it needs the id to be logged for more than 14 days.
Ok....for me it happened straight away...I registered via the PC and it was instant. Your other option is to use HCU Client app and pay 4 credits and you will get it straight away.
Mate....if you have no luck, If you send me (PRIVATE MESSAGE) all the info required ( view the image from the link I shared in Original response to fine what info is needed) I can enter the details via my account and send you the unlock code. I have used my account to unlock two different imei codes and I don't think there are any limitations to howmany I can run through my account....some one else may have an opinion on this however?
Any way just an offer, you may feel nervous about sending on your private phone details to total stranger, I would....totally up to you, I certainly would delete and make sure they were never made public ...offer is there.

Im considering using the DC unlocker option since i can get nowhere with huawei but im afraid if the phone will relock if i flash a Huawei rom again. Thus my 3rd question in the original thread.
I used Dc.unlocker with the app from same author. Its a bit less expensive. Once you get the code, its for life. Write it somewhere.to not loose it, or keep the mail receved.

1 week old Mate 9 bricked?

So after performing a factory reset on the device it booted normally the 1st time and asked me for my PIN (??). It accepted my usual PIN (!) and took me to a clean slate (all Play Store apps gone) BUT the wallpaper was still the same, my username was still there and the other user profile was also still there. What was missing was a keyboard so there was nothing I could do with the device.
OK no problem, lets perform another factory reset. So once again I hold volume up & the power button, select reset to factory settings, reboot... and this time it boots to a black screen with only the android navigation bar at the bottom and the words emergency mode on the bottom left.
Any ideas on what to do now, short of sending it back to the store?
This is a brand new unit, running EMUI 5 from the box, bought from an authorised dealer. It was not rooted or tampered with in any way or form.
I've seen those symptoms and I had to perform an erecovery. If you have the Chinese version you can do that if you have the international version I think erecovery isn't working just yet.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I have a MHA-L29 bought in Europe. I assume erecovery is the mode enabled by pushing volume up, volume down & power button at the same time? At that point I would need the full OS in a microSD inside the device, correct? Apologies, I'm not well versed in Android...
Huawei's website offers very little help . All one can find is a link to the 'quick start manual', a link to EMUI's source code (Mate 9 is absent), a mobile wifi inspection tool, and HiSuite. I'm assuming HiSuite is of no help in this case?
Have I run out of options here? Is my next step returning the device to the shop?

The easiest choice for you is returning the device to the shop, but it can definitely be fixed.
Huawei made some very stupid decisions with the Mate 9. You cannot flash firmware from SD card anymore. You have to use eRecovery (boot the phone plugged into a computer holding the volume up key) to recover. However, this eRecovery has not launched for the european model, so you can't restore.
I might be able to help you using my DNS server because I have reverse-engineered a lot of how the Mate 9 works, but I don't have a European model to test with. If it's easy for you to return it to the store, that's probably the best option.
I've contact Huawei support and they'll be picking up the device by courier. They expect to have it returned in 5 days max. I did test the eRecovery mode that you've described and indeed it fails to gather the needed files ("Getting package info failed").
I appreciate you input, what would your method involve? I've seen firmware (B122) floating around the web, how are people flashing it if the SD card method isn't working for this unit? Having said that I wouldn't personally attempt anything that could possibly void the warranty.

when you make a factory reset in recovery on first boot you see lost the google service and also the keyboard (i know well i have done it two time in 4 days cause bootloop) how got the google service back? simply download from apkmirror a google keyboard (you need it for next step) and install it then go to settings/advanced settings and make a factory reset(need a pin in my case that why have installed a keyboard) when the device boot again you have the google service again
I see, thank you. I'll keep that in mind next time I reset the device. :good:
I then ask, if I do reset the device to factory settings and it craps out again, how would one know if eRecovery is able to recover European models? As of 3 days ago this option would throw a 'Getting package info failed' error. Short of trying it myself when I get my device back, has anything changed in the meanwhile? Is eRecovery working now?
hi mate, I only know what I've tried: eRecovery delete google service, eRecovery not erase password.factory reset from settings does reappear google services .... likely these problems are software bugs or are linked to nougat that has different partitions than to the past....sorry for now thats it

So I just got my phone back from the service center and the first impressions were not good. Before returning the phone they called me to ask for my Google username and password (!!) to make sure the device was successfully recovered. I obviously refused and just told them to kindly return the device and I would test it myself.
Well the package arrived today and is missing the SIM ejector and the IMEI back sticker. Not only that but it now refuses to install the Amazon Shopping app and Google PhotoScan app because "this app is incompatible with your device". How can this be if I had these two apps installed before??
I also noticed that the device claims to be an "Orange MHA-L29"... have these guys just flashed it with a firmware meant for Mate 9s sold through Orange?

mmmm too bad mate, your M9 is no brand? Orange is a carrier ....my opinion is ask why this change and ask for phone replacement
Yep, unbranded bought from an authorised dealer.
I am now going to escalate it and try to have this unit rejected and exchanged for a brand new one. I sure hope they don't propose replacing it with a refurbished unit, after all we're talking about a €700 device here and it has spent more time in the service center than in my hands. Very frustrating.
And this whole "no way to use eRecovery yet" and "no way to flash it from MicroSD" is just the last nail in the coffin... I mean what were they thinking? Even Apple devices allow me pick up the corresponding firmware and flash it at home from day 0. I hear the P9 Plus is less restrictive, maybe I should have gone for one of those instead?
I've got a real lemon here... let's see how they handle my case, I'll keep you all updated.

Huawei Mate 9 locked - need help

Hello to everyone!
I got my Huawei Mate 9 from Europe 2016-11-27, and set my fingerprint and the password, but when I rebooted the phone, it kept saying that the password is incorrect and fingerprint is unrecognized.
I tried to enter the password and possible combinations (in order I made some horrible typo in the beginning), but it all was useless.
I tried to wipe my data and start over again (hard reset), but wipe didn't work, the password is still there.
Moreover, I tried to use my gmail account that was linked to the Mate 9 and the android device manager (by google) to reset the password on the screen, but it didn't work either.
I also asked for help from the official service center of my country, but they refused to help me (even for money), because the device was made in Europe.
Considering the inability to perform an erecovery (because of the european version), there is no way but to send the device back in europe and wait another 1-1,5 months until it returns..
:crying:
Could anyone, please, give me any tips on how to reset the password and unlock the phone?
I would greatly appreciate your help
Same problem, did you solve it? Did you try to update firmware via three buttons?
Even if erecovery worked it would not erase the password unfortunately. I could get erecovery working for you but I don't think it will provide any solutions.

Unfortunately, no.
I gave my mate back to the store where i bought it (in my country), and they asked their technical specialist to help me, so I'm just waiting and making a list of possible passwords that include 1 typo in any number.
What is important, that this specialist told me that it is not the first time when the device is permanently locked, he's already seen the chinese mate 9 with the same bug.
I tried to report this bug to the support center and wrote them 2 letters over these days, but they just do not respond..

Could you, please, explain why mate 9 acts like some kind of terminator and does not allow me to reset the password in any way?
So there's basically no other solution but to completely format the internal memory at the factory?

Unfortunately, none of the methods that used to work with Mate 8 help with my Mate 9
The bootloader is locked and I wasn't able to enable the developer's mode or root the device before I rebooted it and it locked permanently.
And I don't have any Huawei id..
What is more, the store where I bought the device doesn't even know from which country it came, so they can not send it back for a factory formatting.
Soul crushing despair :crying:
Why haven't you contacted Huawei customer support (international) directly? They have more than one place to call. Did you try calling Europe's division? I know long distance can be annoying, but when you're out of options, it's best to deal with the manufacturer directly. Refusing you seems a bit odd.
Either way, all the best.
Even DC-unlocker (3-rd party tool special for Huawei) still not support out phone. Only way to wait when they will complete researching.
I'm glad it's not so easy to bypass Huawei's security. I'm about to receive my phone, and I would be unnerved if it was stolen and that easy for anyone to access my security login. I'm sure Huawei would help you provided you can show proof of purchase, it doesn't make sense?

Thank you for your advice!
Yes, of course I tried to ask for help from the support senters of other countries.
United Kingdom Hotline: 08000 886 700, I had to find the international code to dial that number: +44 8000 886 700
A nice woman told me that if the device does not reset the password after the hard reset it means that there is something wrong with it and I need to get it checked. She also said that it was ment to be sold in the western Europe, so I should try and call to any countries from that region. She named Italy, Netherland,
France and Germany.
The only foreign language that I know is English, so I had to find a country where I could freel explain the problem to the support team..
Netherland Hotline: 0800 9188. The international code number didn't help: +31 0800 9188, the number is too short dial (mechanical voice tells me that the number is not in use).
Italy Hotline: 800 191 435 With code number: +39 800 191 435. I've also found this number on some forum where people said that they understand english, but I also wasn't able to dial it (the number is not in use).
France and Germany is out of my range because I don't know the language...
Still, I haven't got any solution

I wrote to the DC-unlocker support team and they couldn't give me any information on how long it would take to complete their research and testing, which is sad..
Today I tried to initiate the system update by pressing volume up+down+power buttons while my phone was connected to the PC, aaaand now it's stuck on "Installing update 5%" for more than 1,5-2 hours. If I try to press the power button to switch it off it writes on the screen something like "Please release the power key to prevent the system from crash". Am I doomed? Is it realy stuck on the update and the phone will be bricked is I swith it off?
I suppose that my firmware is MHA-L29C432B109SP02

Of course, I have a full package and a receipt of the store in my country, where I purchased my mate, but that does not help.
Officials in my country refuse to help me, because the device is Euro tested..
I contacted a legal expert and he explained to me that Huawei has no worldwide guarantee and support, that is why in my case I'm left out without help.
If you would really prefer your device to act like an alive brick in any situation just do not unlock your bootloader, do not enable developer's mode and never turn on usb debugging.
Hi DemonRen,
After rebooting fingertip recognition is not accepted, you have to fill up the required Password, but if you have Sim with Pin code before asking for Password it asks for this Pin code.

I've read on the official site after the device locked itself that the fingerprint recognition is not allowed after the reboot, which seems extremely strange to me..
You see, the phone has no Sim card inside (I took it off when I was trying to do the factory reset) and my sim has no activated PIN anyway, so I don't think that's the problem..
It keeps asking for a password

Actually, I tried around 70 variations of my password, including possible typos (the pass is long).
And of course 0000, 000000, 1234 and 123456, even though I was pretty sure that it wouldn't help..
I just wish that Huawei had some service where I could provide all the codes (imed,meid,s/n), pictures of the phone, package and receipt (cheque) and that it would be good enough for them to restore my password instead of refusing to help me
I could even send them my fingerprint, if they need to
Why don't you try to call France or Germany ? Most of the guys now are speaking English at least they can connect you to the one who does.

Found Mate 9 can I unlock it?

Hello guys, I'll begin by saying that I'm not english so if i make mistakes u have to forgive me. Yesterday, a friend of mine came to me by saying that he "found" a phone, which actually is a Huawei Mate 9 MHA-L29.
Now, he told me that he tried to return the phone to the police but it didn't have any SIM card in it and they just told him to keep it because they couldn't do anything. I was actually searching a good and cheap phone to buy and he told me that he can sell it to me at a nice price if i manage to unlock it, now the problems start. So when i turn it on, it hasn't any wallpaper and it wants the unlock Pin, which obviously is unknown.
Something like this happened to me a month ago with a P8 Lite which i factory resetted even if it had a pin and everything went fine.
With this phone tho, if i go to eRecovery (both buttons and start button) and press "Download lastest version and recovery" it makes me choose a wifi and then gives me "getting package info failed".
If i try Vol Down and start button, it takes me to the EMUI update i guess (I'm kinda new to these things so please understand my ignorance.) and tells me "System install failed".
Also tried to link it via USB to my PC and tried Recovery from HiSuite but i guess since the device is in "only charge" and i don't have the pin to change that, it doesn't work either.
Do you guys think is it possible to unlock it someway? I would really appreciate your help.
It could be the original owner who had lost the phone had contacted Huawei and had them disable phone, (making it useless).
debugging seems to be not enabled
password isn’t known
pin isn’t known
factory reset without removing pin/password before will not be successful!!!
as i know, this phone is fully useless for you.
BTW: bad for you, but good for all the people which have lost her phone.
If you would have the original box and bill, the HUAWEI service center can help.
Without this, you will get no help!
and at last...
How often do you think, people have "lost" her phone without sim card installed into it? Not often i think!!!
If it has the original software and recovery on it, chances are that FRP lock is still enabled so unfortunately, it's worth nothing. Maybe you guys can post it on some public ad sites and the owner will be found and give a reward.
