Hi, I recently had to change my OnePlus 7 Pro motherboard. I bought one on Aliexpress. Everything works fine except for some problems with updates and google services. I experience a lot of crashes when I try to use app like gmail or google related products. I installed the global version of oxygen os but nothing change. After a lot of thinking I suspect it's related to the fact that the motherboard is for the chinese market. The motherboard is unlocked and the mobile network works fine.
I also have problems installing new roms and updating the current one via simple OTA.
Has someone experienced the same thing? Do you have any fix or suggestion?
Thanks

Hello everyone,
Recently I bought an LG-698 for my wife. She enjoys the phone very much, however it came with a problem, which I couldn't correct even after updating the Android version, via official site: the phone does not connect to the data services, no matter what I do.
I've even tried several different chips, from different phone companies, and still no go.
Since I´ve purchased the phone in a neighboring country, I cannot claim the warranty.
Does anyone know if this kind of problem can be solved by installing a mod rom, or is it something hardware related?
Also, if there is a possibility for it to be fixed by a new rom, where can I find it?
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Hello everyone!
I need a urgent answer to this problem.
Nine days ago I noticed that the compass of my N5 didn't work properly. I verified that wasn't a software problem using different compass apps (GMaps included) and installing the new Lollipop update in dual boot: the compass still not working even with stock Lollipop.
I called the support, and they suggested me many software solutions like wipe cash, restore to stock android and update to Lollipop. After many answers in witch I explained that these solutions didn't worked (I actually didn't even tried because the fact that the compass did not work even on a new stock Lollipop installation convinced me that it should be a hardware problem), and after an email in witch I showed I was quite angry about the quality of the support I was receiving (they continued to repeat me to update android, while I had already told them I had already tried this solution and didn't' worked), yesterday they decided to offer me to change my N5 with a refurbished one, today I accepted and they send me a link to "buy" the new one free while I send them mine.
So I started preparing to ship them my N5 wiping my data, installing Lollipop, locking the bootloader etc. When the phone booted up I decided to try for the last time the compass and........it was working!!!!
Now my question is: what happens if I send them my N5 and they find out that the compass works properly? Will they make me pay the new N5?
Inside the email they send me, it is written that if the problem isn't covered by warranty they will make me pay the entire cost of the new phone....but if the phone hasn't any problem?
I don't want to cheat with warranty to get a "new" phone, but I'm quite worried about writing them back "Hey! It's me, the guy nearly insulted you asserting your suggestions to solve the problem were usless. Well...today i restore to stock Lollipop and the compass started magically to work" ...
Just cancel the order or refuse shipment.
Lol

Mail it back as far as u were concerned it wasn't working when u had it. What's to say that it won't malfunction again later down the road when you truly need it
Afternoon all,
I have an EML-L09 P20, which did an OTA update to 9.1.0.311 overnight yesterday. Since then, Google pay wouldn't work contactlessly. I tried removing the card and re-adding it, but I get an error saying that the phone is "This phone can't be used to pay in shops. This may be because it is rooted or altered in some way", so I cannot use contactless features. I also tried clearing data on the app and get the same error.
Can anyone shed any light on this - is it a build error, or Google Pay?
If no one comes up with a cunning plan for me, I'm going to try a factory reset in a bit, when it's got a little more battery
Edit: Ok, did the factory reset.... And still the same. So, I called Huawei, who say that they have had a number of calls about this. They blame Google - saying that gpay needs an update. I then called Google Pay customer services, which was like talking to a brick wall!
Has anyone else seen this behaviour on this version? Even if you have experienced it working or not with this specific factory rom version, please could you comment - So I'll know if it's really a big problem, or just me.
Ta,
Mike

Well my version is L29 for now I haven't noticed issues. But my friend who has OnePlus 5T says his Gpay stopped working after an update too. So I suppose it is Google issue maybe it is related to older versions of ROM somehow or etc..
Just read this on GSMArena
Xiaomi has suspended non-GMS phones from downloading Google Services
Users have to resort to third-party app distributors like CoolAPK or APKPure. Smartphone companies have been launching their devices in China without...
www.gsmarena.com
Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly but does that mean owners of the Ultra phone currently will have GMS removed via update or will it be still operational for Ultra phone purchased before a certain date?
Just those who still use stock Chinese ROMs that get the miui12.5 update. I don't know if it will remove it, block new installs of GM's or remove the Google framework like Huawei did.
If you are worried, then get yourself moved over to the EU ROM, where Google is fully implemented. Check out the Xiaomi EU forums for details and here is my guide to get over to the ROM. https://mega.nz/file/6UAhXCxZ#Np2KwhMnl8obmOvp4b-2R9ajo0zrtz3vwefy-Ya3PLs
Thanks yeah might have to go onto EU ROM if it does remove it. I guess will have to wait and see in the coming weeks
Confirmation today says it's on new models only and they may reverse it later too. But if you are not in China, you will get a better, more fulfiled ROM with EU versions.
Hi Everyone - Sorry in advance that I have ridiculous beginner questions, but I just moved to China AND I just bought my first OnePlus Friday. I'm coming from a Pixel 4a5G and couple pixels before that. I haven't rooted or tweaked in many years since my Galaxy Siii with CyanogenMod. As you're about to see, I have no idea what I'm doing...
My phone: OnePlus 9 LE2110 (China) running ColorOS 11.2 (LE2110_11_A.01)
Carrier: China Mobile (also have Google Fi and will probably dual sim)
Current Location: China (but travel to US, UAE and will use Google Fi there)
I just want stability, Google Apps and for all my 4G/5G service whether I am in China or in the US. I'm fine keeping ColorOS or switching to OxygenOS. Because I value stability, I am hoping to not root or do things that might jeopardize that too much.
I've been able to sideload some apps, but I don't find that to be sustainable. I've installed the Play Store and it says it is certified, but nothing will download. An app will look like it tries to download, but gets stuck at "pending." I do have ExpressV*N running and have no issues getting gmail or the other couple Google apps working. I'm running Play 25.5.27-21
Am I able to get the Play store running and apps updating on ColorOS in China? If so, any ideas what I've done wrong?
If not, do I need to do anything besides what mlgmxyysd (amazing by the way!!) listed on the downgrade post to downgrade and install OxygenOS? I saw some people having issues with IMEIs. Looks like the latest update solved it, but I have no idea if I need to do something different.
Does the downgrade here use the Indian build? If so, should I stick with that or try to upgrade eventually to the US build? Is that even possible?
My dumbest question of all: do I download the ColorOS downgrade file if I am switching from ColorOS to OxygenOS?
I promise I have done 8-10 hours of research to try and answer my own questions. It might not seem like it and I'm sure I've overlooked very obvious information, but it's because I'm dumb, not lazy.
If you've made it this far: thanks for reading and for any insight you might have.
If you want stability, then you might want to change to oxygenOS. Most of the users here are using oxygenOS. And I haven't encountered any bugs as of yet on my oneplus 9. This will most likely solve your issue on google.

Thanks. I finally bit the bullet and converted. No real issues except for one error that has gone away (or been hidden and doesn't matter). I still have my 5g connection which I was concerned about (I average 200 Mbps on speed test) and was able to sync with my Google account so I have Play and all my old apps.
I've gotten an OTA update for 11.2.7.7.LE25DA and I'm nervous to ruin a good thing so I haven't installed it yet. I'm also only running my China Mobile sim. I haven't added my Fi SIM to it yet, also for fear of breaking something.
Either way, this really changed my life. Thanks for your final push and for the OP of the ColorOS to OxygenOS conversion.
if rooted use magisk hide like in screenshot I make my pixel 5 change fingerprint to anything and then it should work if not do the device id and maker mine showed
obviously oxygen os is the better choice ,coloros has too many ads. And you don't have to download the degraded file between o os and color os.
Thanks, everyone. Shortly after I posted this and got a little feedback I switched to Oxygen OS. It was a game changer. I don't care so much about Color OS vs. Oxygen OS (I see some merits in both), but this is much closer to my old Pixel feel and more importantly, I have easy access to Play store.
