Hii everybody .. i have a problem with my sidekick 4g Tmobile sometimes it looks like everything is just normal but sometimes its just getting crazy and start to click and doing things even if i dont even touch it, I tried hard reset and a new rom using odin but after few hours it starts to get crazy again please tell me what is really the problem is it a software or hardware problem .thank you for your help
With the stock ROM, this is incredibly common. Mine, along with friends I know, device's did this not too long after we had them. I would say try flashing a custom rom. Another thing that would help is to disable the optical joystick under accessibility, when that gets too much light, the thing goes bat ****.
It's pretty common for our touchscreen driver to act up. This can usually be fixed by toggling the screen off and on again. And being capacitive, it can react if you have a finger right on the very edge of the screen, or a lot of moisture anywhere on it.
Also, the optical trackpad tends to freak out in bright sunlight. I turned mine off completely because it was so useless.

I had a very similar problem (thread here). If you wipe your screen on your pants/shirt or with a damp cloth/napkin/whatever, is the problem fixed for a short while (even just a minute or so)?
I found that oil or something on the screen causes it to go wonky for some reason. The solution for me was to order screen protectors. I guess they block the oil or whatever it is from contacting the touch surface. Whatever the problem is, a screen protector has fixed the problem for at least two of us, so it's probably worth a shot

I think that might help. Whenever mine hets even a small drop of water on the screen it will not react to my finger commands. I just lock it wipe it and unlock ot and voila.

I seem to be having an issue with my proximity sensor. At times it works 100% which leads me to believe it's a bug in the marshmallow update, since it never happend before it. Sometimes when making a call I can't hang up, the only thing I can do is force reboot the phone. Anyone else with this issue,or should I send it in for repair.

I find if you give the screen a wipe where the proximity sensor is when it happens, it usually sorts it out. Maybe it's just over sensitive or something...

Has anyone found any solution? This is annoying me too much. Sometimes even when I tap play in music app, the screen goes black.
I have the same problem which began instantly after updating to build number 32.1.A.1.185, and this happens to me every time I place a phone call. Running the Ear Proximity test has it vibrating constantly (meaning that it detects the ear). If i wipe the area above the proximity sensor before running the test and then run the test with nothing near the sensor then it will remain off - but then when something approaches the sensor it kicks in and then never switches off even when you move away from the sensor.
Seems like they have quietly fixed it through some update because it is working fine now.
Completely same problem here with same behaving, but with build 32.2.A.0.224. Any solution?
I mean as farooknaji wrote...
same problem here!
Where is the proximity sensor. Could be my panzerglass (tempered glass screen protector) pressing on it leading my phone to think its againt my ear?
Same problem here since last firmware update! I contacted sony but they say is a hardware issue :S
Do you guys know a way to fix it? Its pretty anoying
I had this to, after I placed a extra glass screenprotector.
Removed it, no problems any more.

Has an had any issues with screen calibration? Sometimes when I click on the screen it presses to the left of it. When I'm in the recents screen for my apps, it sometimes swipes away instead of selecting it, and I'm unable to consistently unlock the phone while it is charging. (Works like once in every 5 times) however, I'm on sure if that one is related.
Anyone have any ideas?

Did you install a screen protector? Could be the reason for sensitivity issues. If not, I don't know. Maybe a factory reset Will help?

I removed the screen protector when I purchased it. I could do a factoru reset and see how it goes. Hopefully it's software related and not hardware related.
I do hope so as well then. I do have to say that the factory installed screen protector doesn't do this screen justice.

I thought it was for protecting it in the box?
Mine had a lot of air bubbles in it so removed it right away.
My charger still has the plastic on it though xD

Lol, no, this phone comes with a screen protector pre installed .
The touch sensitity is definitely off a little. I have to swipe the notification bar sometimes twice for it to come down. I also get some missed taps but it's infrequent enough that it isn't a problem for me. I heard they started fixing touch latency and optimization in 5.1. Don't know if we will ever see it.
If you are not using the stock charger weird things can happen.
Alrighty update: Factory settings still yields the same results. It's not frequent enough to make me go crazy, but it's still roughly the same. I guess my real pet peeve is when I need to go to the app manager to return to an open app and it just closes out. I've lost a lot of information that way like recipes when cooking and etc.
What I really don't understand is the fingerprint sensor not working while it's charging. It doesn't matter what charger I use. It just doesn't respond most of the time (Sometimes it unlocks like it's suppose to)
Im using Quick Charger from SS and I have this problem too. It's nice to know this is a common issue, not only me. I dont have any issues with fingerprint when charging, just notice when the battery between 5-60% it's insensitive for me (maybe quick charge is working strongly in this range), "insensitive" here means when you press and hold any things on the screen, it'll "tap" it and open it instead, all pressing or sliding or zooming actions are normal, just dragging has issue. When the battery is 70% and above, it becomes normal and no more insensitive touch. Just that so I think I can bear this thing.
Hi! I would like to ask if this is considered normal for Realme 5 RMX1911 to randomly not respond to swipes or touches? That it needs a second touch or swipe in order for the screen to recognize your finger? I tried using the phone's built-in phone manage component check. as well as 3rd-party screen testing apps. Both don't show any issues. Single and multi-touch functions, no stuck or dead pixel detected.
I think the scratch guard on screen reduces the touch sensitivity.

You'd think so?
If the screen was faulty, then the apps I've used should have detected any abnormalities on it.

My issue is somewhat similar to yours. This happens esp. when opening and using the phone after it has not been used for a while. Even when just scrolling thru the apps on the app drawer, there are times that the first swipe up/down won't respond. It requires you to do it the second time. Same thing goes for just clicking or opening an app, regardless if it's pre-installed or user-installed.

I have almost the same issue. nothing wont respond except the notification bar, navigation keys. after going to home or recent apps, the issue goes away. I dont have any apps with overlay permission. Perhaps, but reaching a Service Center is my last option, since I bought my phone online, and getting it repaired via SC would be highly inconvenient (the nearest in my area is 15 kilometers away). That is why I am asking.
Same issue
I also faced similar problems , slightly better after changing from à thick tempered glass to a thinner one. But as I plug in the earphones touch sensitivity goes berserk. Same situation is described by many on official realme forum. Solution, if found, kindly share.
Mine touch working fine...
Sometimes I face hang issue
I also have the same problem the screen some times needs two or more touches to respond, and if the 3.5 mm headphone is connected the touch gets mad it opens apps, videos or pictures during swiping.
Does it be a software problem?

I think the problem with thick scratch guard on the screen
Since the April update (US unlocked, 512gb), I randomly get ghost touches. I'll be in an app, and can actually see the back, recent and home button light up at separate times, causing the app to go back a page, reload or disappear. I do have a Whitestone glass protector, but as stated, this only came about after the April update 2 days ago. Anyone else? Really not wanting to (or have the time, takes me days) factory reset to see if this is hardware or software. And so very random, and in different apps so safe mode probably wouldn't help either. I rarely use the pen. Can't replicate so can't get screen recording.

Clear system cache.
If that fails use safe mode to see if a 3rd party app is the cause.
Updates can break things...
Android 11 and especially 12 aren't very app friendly. Google blames the developers... I blame Gookill. The usual suspect, tastes like Apple
Yeah, these updates aren't fixing as much as they break lately. I'll try the system cache. Thanks.

Yeah you would have to factory reset, but it's better than having ghost touches.
I was having ghost touch, battery drainage like crazy from Google Play Services, and bad SOT time, like maybe 4 hours.
On AVA6, AVC8, and AVCJ I always got about 8-9 hours SOT.
Your choice.

I don't have drain issues thankfully, I can get a full 12 hours usage with probably close to what you got. But these ghost touches are annoying, yes. But man, factory reset and setup would take me more than 3 days which would be my days off and I just don't have time for it right now. Guess I'll have to deal. Crap.
I too have the ghost touches...It's random and it started after the 1st April update. There is another thread regarding the touches as well....It can happen in any app at any time...very annoying

Very much so. And I just don't have the luxury of time to reset. Or downgrade.
So according to the Samsung community, taking touch sensitivity and power saving off *should* stop the ghost touches. I didn't have power saving on, but did have the other due to my glass screen protector. I'll report back in a day or so.
have you tried enabling the "show touches" in developer options to see if it is the screen being touched, or wether its just a bug in the softwre causing it ?

I can actually see the buttons get highlighted when the ghost touches happen, so no need for the show touches option. But since turning off the touch sensitivity, I haven't had one ghost touch.
Ah ok, yh I did get that, that you could see them lighting up, but that wasn't necessarily ghost touches as it were and showing touches could have confirmed that, anyway your problems solved
TONS of posts on ghost touches on reddit. Try turning off screen sensitivity. That supposedly helps, but not 100%. You'll have to wait for another update.
I had ghost touches when power saving was on. Since the second April update, the problem was solved for me. Exynos version.

I've had the exact same ghost touches issue only since the April security patch update. I've got a Verizon S22 Ultra 512GB with the Whitestone Dome Glass protector and I usually run power savings mode.
I've noticed the ghost touches (I'll watch the home button or recent button light up on its own without me touching it) stop when I turn off power savings mode and they will start again once I enable power savings mode. I'll have to try turning off the touch sensitivity while power savings is enabled, and see if that stops it. But, I think it has to do with the 120hz down to 60hz while in power savings mode, seems there is a bug.
There isn't rhyme or reason for what triggers the ghost touches either from my experience. The ghost touches seem to happen most in the Samsung Internet Browser Beta for me the most, but it'll also happen in the settings menu or other apps from time to time, just not as much as the browser. It'll kick me out of the browser and bring me back to my home screen and or open the recents ui. Very annoying. Turning off power savings mode seems to stop it.
I am currently running power savings mode and have turned off the touch sensitivity and it seems to have stopped the ghost touches for now. I've only had it disabled for 10 minutes or so, so not long enough to truly tell, but it seems good so far.

This is what I have had happening! I really had no idea why. I thought maybe even though I did not touch the screen, maybe I got close enough so that I triggered the "touch". But it really did not seem like that was what was happening. I do not use power saving but I do have touch sensitivity on. It never happened until recently though.
So I've had touch sensitivity off now for quite a few hours with power savings mode enabled, and I have not had any ghost touches at all whatsoever. So, apparently it's touch sensitivity being enabled that triggers the ghost touches.

Seems as tho it's touch sensitivity confirmed. No ghost touches since turning it off and actually haven't had any issues with the Whitestone protector and TS being off. Unless another update comes and makes the screen unusable with it off, I'll just keep it off. Never really used power saving at all, no idea why it's auto enabled from factory, so having that off I'm not seeing any issues either.
I have turned touch sensitivity on and off and no real difference, still there with both settings....I did pick up that some days it's a lot less then other days...yesterday I has no touches, but today a lot....no matter what the sensitivity setting is...
