Bought the one in October and the screen protector is beginning to peel/ fray in the middle. I've got Samsung Care+ which allows me to make two claims per year.
Wondering if I should use it for this or if Samsung has anything along the lines of one screen protector change for free?
UK based if relevant.
going through this now in the US. they will do it one time free. the issue for me is there is nowhere local to me that is able to actually do it. has to be sent off, could take 3 weeks.

A good relief given the silence from Samsung, and conflicting pre-order dates, but it will be here this Friday
http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/30/9422727/samsung-gear-s2-smartwatch-pricing-availability
Stores: Samsung.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy, and select Macys stores.
Does anyone know at what time do online sales start?
I'm wondering the same thing. Checked the 3 sites listed above and nothing. Hopefully the 3g version go on sale today.

For all we know Samsung probably demanded them not to sale any til the morning, so they can make a big buzz if they sale out in a few hours.

Bestbuy.com is showing them already, but only the $299 non-classic is available for shipping. The Classic is only available in-store. Also at $50 more, Samsung.com is showing them for order as well, but says shipping 3-4 weeks.
I just ordered mine, $299 model for pick up today. Sweet!
Sent from one of my many devices.
i also pre-order a black sport from BestBuy, but I really wanted a Classic.
I did the same thing hoping this ensures I at least get the Sport today. The Classic can't be ordered yet on bestbuy.com.

Picked up my black S2 at Best Buy this morning. Could have ordered from Amazon and received in a few days or waited three to four weeks on the Samsung site. My Best Buy only had the black S2 and that's all that was available on Amazon. I think my Best Buy only had three of them.
Picked up the Dark Gray (black) watch at Best Buy. They had 5 come in, all the same model. Anyone have luck getting the Classic model?
No luck getting the Classic, I've checked everywhere, even Samsung.com lists it as backordered 3-4 weeks. I really wanted the Classic, but the Sport is very nice.
I'm extremely impressed with the comfort and size of the Sport, it's the same thickness as my Huawei Watch, but it doesn't actually feel that way. The Sport is more rounded and my dress shirts easily fit over it, which is not the case with the Hauwei Watch.
I'm also becoming a fan of Tizen watch OS, I really like the interactiveness of the watch faces and widgets. The rotating bezel is cool and makes sense with this interface, but reviewers need to stop saying "it keeps your fingerprints off of the glass" because you still need to touch the screen to open and use all of the apps. I would have actually preferred Samsung made one of the buttons on the side an input button so you could select apps and then maybe use the same button for double click to home or something like that. The combination of the rotating bezel and a hardware input button would definitely have reduced the amount of times you need to touch the glass.

I totally agree and wonder if that is possible with a firmware upgrade sometime in the future?
Bob
I've had my 32 gb black n5 from the play store basically since launch and now I've finally cracked the screen badly.
I'm off contract and on att in the US, what should I do?
I've been perfectly happy with stock Marshmellow on it but now I'm trying to decide if I should fix it or get something like a Oneplus3 or S7, etc.
I'm jaded having the purity of the nexus and the ease of swapping roms at a whim and the Samsung devices turn me off in regards to that. On the flip side the S7 etc would be a monthly add on to my bill vs spending a good $400+ up front.
Third option is invest my time and maybe $50ish on swapping an lcd/digitizer/glass combo and dealing with my beat up n5 and waiting for the upcoming Nexuses.
Thoughts/opinions?
PS 2x I've tried calling Google for the 1 time replacement thing you may have heard of for N5 owners, (google it), and so far they just send me to LG for a repair quote.
Yesterday i changed my N5 screen in just under 20 minutes, it is so easy i felt i did something wrong, because it shouldn't be this easy.
this is the video i used to understand the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xL4H6_tRoQ .
please be gentle when removing things and you will have your phone back.
Thanks for the particular vid link. If I can find a decent price for parts I'll take a crack at it. I've disassembled other phones before, just not my N5.
What parts did you buy, just the glass or more?
I recommend buying the lcd, frame, and glass as a preassembled unit. I purchased screens from aliexpress for around 40 usd. These screens aren't as bright as the original but they are quite good for the money.
Sounds good, I'd rather spend $40ish to keep my N5 alive. Nothing else out right now makes me want to jump ship. I can't believe some places want to charge people like $100+ for doing it for you.
Right now I'm perfectly happy running stock marshmallow on this thing. I've had so many ROMs on this and it does everything I need. I'm not ready to let go!
Thanks for the input everyone.
I did the same. Just bought the screen and frame for 34$ on ebay and brightness is good. Screen bleed at the top is visible. But until this year's nexus device releases in using this phone.

BTW a quick heads up, if you want to get a real screen replacement/one that isn't lower quality you should really go with etrade parts and supply co. They are suppliers for official phone repair shops, and also have an online store. http://www.etradesupply.com/lg-nexu...itizer-assembly-with-front-housing-21773.html That is probably what you want and its only 47 bucks atm, but there is shipping from them (and its expensive because they are used to bulk orders...again for shops.) There are definitely other places you can get them, but that is the only 100% reputable dealer I have found in the US so far. Also you can order the lower quality screens from them too for I think 40 dollars if you check the site,
My Verizon S8+ has started sperating from the frame on the left and bottom side of the screen. The gap is big enough for lint and small dust to get stuck and it can't be cleaned. The right and top sides have no gap and are completely flush against the frame.
Anyone know how to get it fixed? I'm afraid the water seal might be compromised.

Any pics ? Sounds like manufacturing defect ring Samsung and see what they say. i'm sure warranty should be able to get it fixed..
You definitely want to get that checked out. The S8 is a very rigid phone so I have a feeling the separation is due to the battery swelling and pushing out from the inside. You should be able to get it covered through warranty.

Samsung is asking me to send the unit in for check up. But the rep said that it would take about 3 weeks to get the device back in my hands. No loaner provided sadly.

Had the same issue. I got an S8+ with slight red tint and was going to send it in until they told me the turn around time. It's always good to have a second phone just in case. If you spend a lot on your phone service you may be able to get a loaner from your provider, that's what CS told me.
My galaxy s8 is leaking light around the whole screen seal. Another defective phone accept this time the battery is not exploding just yet. The phone always gets to hot when charging (not using device during charging and everything is up to date including software and now just noticing the whole screen is separating from the device's back glass. Seriously. You should not have to have a warranty threw anyone when you pay almost a $1000 dollars for a phone. I like Samsung but every year I always end up getting a phone that leaks light out from the whole display sides. The galaxy S6 edge was coming apart, the galaxy s7 edge was coming apart and now the galaxy S8? If they can't do better than this they shouldn't even make phones and then to tell you you have to go with out a phone for 3 weeks to a month? Who has the money to pay for a not so cheap $120 - $300 phone when you just bought a $850 phone? I would switch to another brand but the other brands are not as attractive as the Samsung line up. I guess I will just take my chances. They never do a recall for this type of thing so I'm sure they won't this time and if they did do a recall they would still charge you more money for next year's model half off like they did for Galaxy Note 7 users, so it's not worth the waste of time.

Also I meant to add. The phone also get to hot to hold while using the phone. No it's not plugged up to the charger, yes application's and software is all up to date, and it continues to say that there is water inside of the port and I always have to use my wireless fast charger to charge it. Went through all the steps for the charging port problem. It disappeared for a week and came right back. It's sad that customers spend so much on a phone only to be let down. The Galaxy S8 is a great phone. I just don't like the fact that there is always so many problems with every galaxy phone I've gotten leaking out light on all sides of the screen as if the front glass is separating from the back glass. As soon as they started making samsung phones all glass this started happening. The water detection in charging port was annoying enough and now this happens to add on to the problems.
I think this just another good reminder for all of us to try and have a secondary phone around just in case you need it. And it needn't be a terrible backup, either. We're pretty lucky that the mid-range and below market has become saturated. There's all kinds of reasonable options to use in case you need a backup phone. Than and just try and keep around your previous flagship. That's what my Note 5 is for these days.
Best of luck getting your phone taken care of.
Yes. Very important to have a back up secondary phone. I would have had my Galaxy S7E as my backup but before I purchased my unlocked Galaxy S8, I dropped my Galaxy S7E front first on my gravel driveway. I was highly disappointed about it and had insurance for my Galaxy S7E but Best buy wouldn't cover my Galaxy S7E through the insurance they gave me. I decided to go back to Bestbuy, payed my Galaxy S7E off and was going to put another Galaxy S7E on Best buy credit. This was about a month after Galaxy S8/S8+ hit store shelves. Looked around and saw the Galaxy S7E on display along side the Galaxy S8. This year I didn't have money to get insurance coverage over my second phone. Got to looking at prices on Galaxy devices and it just happen to be the week That the Galaxy S8 unlocked version was on sale. Was ready to pick up a Galaxy S7E and right beside it was the Galaxy S8. Both phones unlocked. It just so happen to be that both phones were exactly the same price ($799.00 US). So I said well if I'm going to pay $800 for a Galaxy device I am better off getting this year's model. So I asked for the Midnight black Galaxy S8 instead of paying there same exact price for another Galaxy S7E (Now a year old). I asked Bestbuy if my current 2y insurance would be switched over to my Galaxy S8 from my Galaxy S7E. They lied to me and told me I still had a year coverage and that years insurance would be put on my Galaxy S8. It has only been 3 months besinse I bought my defective Galaxy S8 with the screen coming unglued from the device. I didn't even ask them for a replacement device. I only asked them to reattach my screen back to device (The screen is still on the device just coming unglued). They told me that my insurance did not cover the Galaxy S8 and that the insurance was no good because it was for the Galaxy S7e. They told me I have to send it back in through Samsung but samsung told me I need to take it back to best buy for a replacement phone because it was defective. Now neither Samsung or Bestbuy will take my phone back and fix it so insurance is basically a money gimic.

My point is my Galaxy S8 is not busted. Does not have a broken screen. The screen just needs to be reglued to the frame because it is coming apart on all four sides with a big enough gap that you can slide your fingernail in between the unglued screen and the device itself. I am now having to leave my Galaxy S8 inside of my phone case to be sure that the screen stays attached to the phone. Luckily I bough a really good phone case that is tight enough to hold the phone together. I just wanted people to be aware that if you go through certain stores to buy your phone they will refuse to replace or fix a defective device. One of these company's being Bestbuy. I asked them about fixing my phones screen only 3 weeks ago and until they agree to I am not going to pay for this device. The phone bill through Bestbuy is not due just yet but once they see that I refuse to pay for it they will call and I am going to tell them that I am not going to pay for this phone until they agree to fix it for me. I told them that besinse they will not fix my defective device don't expect a payment from me for the device. There solution was for me to buy a new phone.
I do have a question about my device. Would the screen of my phone being unglued with gaps between the screen and the frame cause my phone to continuously say (there is water in the port this may take a while to dry) and never charge when i need to charge my device. Obvbiously the water sill on my phone is compromised when you are able to stick your fingernails between the device's screen and frame, but I am curious if this is the reason my phone will not charge with my Usb/C charging cord's. I am having to use my wireless charging pad to get the phone to charge up. (By the way, my phone has never been in or near water for as long as I've had it. I never have trusted putting any of my Galaxy devices in water even when I had the Galaxy S5 which was supposably completely water proof.) I have been through all of the tips on how to fix my charging port problem including clearing catch and data for the Usb only to find that it works for a couple of days and comes right back again to hunt me.
I am sure that the reason my Galaxy S8 gets to hot to hold while charging or using the device has to do with my screen coming apart. My response to this was [(aka samsung] Make sure your applications are up to date, make sure your firmware/software is up to date running newest software, do not use your device while charging, etc.) I do not use my device while it is on the charger. My applications stay up to date and my software's are running latest OS. Not much help at all.
I was wondering if anyone here has had to replace the screen on their S8+ lately
and any pricing advice
mine broke in a weird spot almost like a stress crack
bottom of phone below home button

I had mine fixed at ifixandrepair for $250. OEM new Samsung screen, they showed me the box. I have square trade warranty, they said only one place in my area they worked with which was batteries plus. Batteries plus said they had to send it out, take about 3-5 days, was same price. Square Trade said i could take it to anyone i wanted but i'd have to pay for it and send them the bill. I had it back fixed in 2 hours and the reimbursement check in 3 days. The new screen is much brighter and colors are a lot more vivid and vibrant. Touch is perfect. Of course it's no longer water proof, which is to be expected. I love the phone, hate the fingerprint sensor location. Pre-ordered unlocked s9+ from samsung
Thank you,That sounds reasonable enough
I will keep them in mind when I have to get it done
I used Samsung without insurance and only ended up costing $170 but was without my phone for a week. Had to mail it to them. And it is still waterproof. Dropped it in the rain getting out the truck went back 10 mins later and found it, still working.

Today about 2 hours after waking up, I unlocked my phone and noticed that a dime size dead-zone at the bottom left of the phone. My phone has been in a case and a glass screen protector since taking it out of the box and I have never (knock on wood) dropped it whatsoever. If I took it out of the case and screen protector you would think it is a brand new phone never used. So now I have this dead zone that will not recover regardless of countless remedies, so I contact Google support as I am a member of Google one because I pay for the 100 gigabyte cloud storage. I sent the representative Hey picture of the dead zone and to my surprise he told me he told me " do not worry about this at all, I will start an RMA for you immediately". I was extremely pleased with how this was handled, an hour after talking with him, my entire screen died. I no longer can use my phone at all. Thank god it will be here in two days!
So you'll only have to slum it with an old device for a day or two, sweet!
Never had a problem with Google RMA process, always the reason I buy direct, piece of mind
In the UK - Google do a great job with their phones too for RMA. They sort you out relatively well
Even if you didnt buy direct
Update:
Got the new device yesterday, apparently they are refurbished and I noticed a nice big strand of white lint in-between the camera glass right on top of the main shooter. Obviously got in there when Google did whatever they do to refurbish phones.
Contacted them and so far they are refusing to swap this one out. I understand it's a little nit picky but I paid $900 for a brand new phone, it had a defect and the replacement now has a defect. That aside, it's absolutely killing my OCD. Could you imagine having to look at that stupid little piece of lint for years to come? If they ultimately stick with not doing an RMA on this I'm either selling and going for a OnePlus 8 pro or possibly even attempting to remove the camera glass square to get that little fu**** out.

Just call them back and do a second warranty, let them know your experiencing new problems, or tell them you want to do a buyer's remorse return & they'll do it. I did a buyers remorse after I bought the my pixel 3 xl twice last year, once at 2 months & the other at 4 months, (That's where they give your your money back).. I called them for a day over & over but they did what I wanted. don't let Google tell you what's gonna happen you tell them
