I have problem with purple tint on pictures and I know I'm not the only one. Is there any way to help this? I'm sure it's software problem, because when I use pro mode and change white balance setting then pictures are fine. Also it is not RYYB sensor problem because I have also P30 pro and pictures are fine. You can see comparison attached to this post. Is there a software version which works fine with this model? Currently I have latest firmware 12.0.0.228
I had a similar problem. Sent back for warranty repair, they replaced the camera module. The problem is gone.
But I have this problem with both RYYB sensor, and also had impression that on old software this effect was even bigger. That's why I assumed that was rather software problem. Of course it can be coincident and both sensors are bad. Maybe someone can post some pictures where black objects are well lit with daylight and made with last software version to make sure it's my hardware problem? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have recently purchased an S6 and am loving it so far how ever last night I noticed that a black line appears on the camera when shooting in low light against darker backgrounds. I have been a little worried about it and just can't seem to figure out what it is. The camera functions perfectly in normal light. This issue only occurs on the back camera, the front camera is fine.
You can see the line especially well when a filter is added. I can't attach pictures because im new but I can message them to you if you wish to see!
Does anyone know what is causing this and should I be concerned?
Thank you in advance.

I just bought a mate 9 pro, so far I'm happy with the phone but I felt that the photos taken with the rear camera were a bit weird. I went to a huawei shop and compared it to their model and photos taken with my phone have a slight green tint compared to the phone from the store.
Do you think this could be due to a firmware update? (I'm running the latest version but the shop was using b122).
Has anyone had this issue?
Did you try a factory reset? Maybe you have a faulty unit.
I recommend you copy the pictures on your computer to look at them on your monitor.
Maybe the green tint comes from the white balance of of your Mate 9 display which can be adjusted in the display options.
I've looked at them on my computer. It's quite slight and easily fixable with snapseed or other software but that's a bit of a hassle. So, maybe it's just a matter of taste...
I do prefer the images from the demo units in the shop but I wonder if the differences are due to slight tweakings by huawei in their newer firmware (since the demo units run an old firmware)...
I've attached a photo taken from my phone on the left and a photo taken with the shop model on the right.
Looking at it on my computer, the title is a bit incorrect, it's a bit more yellow, saturated. So, maybe it's just a matter of the white balance being always a little bit too warm...
Hey guys, Got my phone 2 days back. I received a software update the very moment I signed in and I did.
Later through the day I went on checking the cameras. I was in a medium to low lit room and I could see the front camera was blurry. So I tried taking pictures but they did turn out well. I tried gcam but the viewfinder was still the same blurred with good shots after the photo was clicked.
I went outside to check the camera and I could see the viewfinder preview was sharp as it looks on my op5. I went back to the low lit room and the viewfinder turned blurry again. Also I tried video calling and the receiver told me that my video looked like some low frame rate camera.
I received an update later which reduced the blur effect a little but it's very much noticeable.
Anybody else has this issue?
Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to be as detailed as possible.
Also I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue. If it's a hardware issue the viewfinder should've been blurred in good light too right?
Also photos when clicked in low-light come out good. The issue is with the viewfinder only.
I'm sceptical of getting a replacement if it's not a hardware issue due to the lockdown delay and all and since it's from OnePlus site I don't get the return option either like Amazon.
Please share your valuable thoughts regarding this and if anyone else's facing the same issue.
Seems like nobody has the issue. So I might rma the device.
Thanks people

I am still trying to understand if this is an hardware problem or software. I wrote on a forum and they told me "sometimes blurry, but its okay with the colours" and another "whatsapp videocalls were always pretty bad, but I faced issue with blurry camera only at night". People answered me like if this is normal for a 1000€ phone...I come from one plus 7t pro and the front camera was better. I don't know what to do, I wait some days to find more discussion about this, if this is an hardware problem I try to replace otherwise I will ask refund...
I'm pretty sure the 7T & both 8s use the same font camera sensor (Sony imx471) so the images should be similar depending on software.

Actually the photos in low light turn out good once you've captured them. They're blurry only in the viewfinder. As such video calls are also blurry since what you see on the viewfinder is what the receiver gets.
To top it all the viewfinder is sharp when it's good lighting out there. The issue is only with medium to low light
Hi, i am facing the exact same problem. I got my phone (OnePlus 8) two days back and I started having second thoughts. I really hope it's a software issue. Spent a lot on this device.
I just bought one plus 8 and I am feeling so regretful as I figured out my front camera blurry, I don't know what should i do
Should I wait for software update?

I had a pixel2xl before the one plus 8. When I compared the quality of the photos in general, I thought that the one plus 8 must be broken. we agree that the camera of the one plus 8 is simply ****...
When I take a photo from a close black/dark object with the main camera, the middle of the picture has a red/purple hue. I found people with the same issue, but we need to report It to Huawei through the Support app, and if they receive a lot of reports, maybe they will fix this problem. So can you test It please, and report it if you have this issue too? If you test don't use flash, and the issue is only with the main camera, so be sure you didn't change to wide. I attached some photos.
I never seen this problem. What version of software do you have and what version of P40 Pro? I have Ice White version,ELX-NX9,C432 area. I am on EMUI 11 Beta now,but never saw that problem even before. Maybe it's related to some versions. I saw for example on some forums, people were comparing P30 Pro,and most of them agreed that black version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and another one(can't remember which colour) made better photos on zoom and colours were more natural in general. Maybe it's the same with P40 Pro...I think they came from different factories and some might have that problem from the same factory.
ELS-NX9
10.1.0.154
C432
Can you take a photo in low light conditions from something blue or black, please?
Have the exact same problem. I think its either the color correction of huawei software or just the ToF sensor
Just got a P40 Pro and noticed this issue straight away. Is there a fix for this or should I get the phone replaced?
Never seen that happen. I have a P40 Pro, 10.1.0.131 (C432)
Mine does this
You are right, same here with last EMUI 11... Best PHOTOPhone ???
Hello,
I have a problem with my new pixel 7 pro with the camera. Namely, a line a couple of pixels thick appears almost constantly on the main camera (0.5 and 5x are ok) and when I zoom digitally ( 2x, 3x,... ) the line is still present and moving with the zoom. I have tested other Camera apps and everything is the same.
The Pixel is brand new. I just turned on the phone, set up email, did the updates, opened the camera and the line was there. I will also post a couple of pictures.
Has anyone had similar problems? Could this be a software or hardware issue?
Thanks in advance for the answers.
I'd say it is a hardware problem, i have not seen anything like that from anyone else.
Factory reset, check if it's still there, return for a replacement. I'd say definitely hardware
