General Method to unlock your T-Mobile S22 Ultra - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I was able to get my T-Mobile S22 Ultra Unlocked 2 days ago by speaking to T-Mobile support via T-Force on Twitter. It's relatively easy, all you need to tell them is you frequently go overseas and have a trip coming up. I got my phone unlocked within a few minutes.
I purchased my T-Mobile varient S22 Ultra from Samsung .com if anyone was wondering.

Yes that's correct. But I don't think it matters much of as long as you're in good standing on your account. I've been able to unlock phones this way even when I was on my first month of financing from T-Mobile.

I hate these posts. No they will not do this is your phone's not paid off. Obviously anyone will knock your phone if it's paid off no matter where you reach out or what excuse you give them.

I'm not saying you haven't had success. I used to be able to get TForce to unlock my phone early, if it was paid off. But lately they have cracked down and make you wait 45 days.

Yeah, I was told at first that I need to at least have the device activated for 40 days in order for them to permanently unlock the phone. I only had 4 days of use on the S22U, T-Force person said they only make exceptions for people who travel overseas.

If you are going overseas, yes, they will unlock it. Being military, I did that all the time but generally they will not unlock your phone if it is not paid off.

If it doesn't work keep trying. I once had to speak with support 4 times before they would unlock my financed phone, some are more inclined to help you than others, you just need to be persistent.

I was able to unlock my financed Tmobile phone without any hassles due to oversees travel.

Congrats! Was it the S22 Ultra?

I've tried since day one of Android development back in the early 00's. Not once had it worked for me. Not with a financed phone anyways.

Mine was paid in full and while through the phone it said it was not eligible for unlocking I followed your advice and went on twitter and they approved my unlocking. Sweet

Yeah as long as your account is in good standing they usually help you out.
Now I'm debating if I should root. Lol

Make sure you are not using WiFi calling when you attempt to unlock it. My first attempt on a cell network fixed my unlocking problems.

Unlocking a network locked phone allows you to use sim cards from other service providers.

I was able to unlock my s22 ultra (Bought from Samsung.com T-Mobile variant) took advantage of the $50 activation plus $100 discount.. As soon I received the phone, contacted T-Mobile via Twitter and their T-Force team was able to unlock the phone right away after providing my IMEI number. After the full unlock.. I switched my sim to eSim.. and then Flashed my phone with SM-S908U1 with TMB CSC.. (unlocked version with no T-Mo bloats) and used international sim as well

[Q] SIM unlock for Canadian GSM carrier

I used to be with Verizon but switched to Sprint 2 months ago. I have a friend who is visiting from Canada and I figured they'd get more use out of this phone since I don't plan on going back to Verizon anytime soon and this phone is quite old. I tried putting their SIM in the phone and the phone asked for an unlock code. I've been doing some research on here but it seems like no one can guarantee a good solution for unlocking.
If I ask Verizon nicely, will they give me the unlock code?
Or do I need to search for a third party? How reliable are those? And there are apparently SIMs I can purchase that will unlock the phone? Which is better?
Honestly, I'd prefer a free option, but I want to make sure when my friend heads back to Canada next week, the phone will work without any further action required.
Thanks for your help.
The only guaranteed ways are either contacting Verizon Global Support (and you must have an active account in good standing with them for at least 6 months) or using a hardware dongle called SigmaKey which is $120.
Online unlocking services are “unreliable” as in, it depends on whether you're lucky enough to have a device with its unlock code unchanged.

Anyone performing software SIM unlocks?

Not via manufacture unlock code but rather software unlock. My Note 8 is still being paid off so AT&T won't give me the unlock code and I'm headed to Germany next week. I'd rather not go the eBay route.
Don't know about the software unlock on this phone, but I got my unlock code from a vendor that I used multiple times for $25. Unlocked mine a couple of days ago.

I ended up using a guy off eBay, he seemed reputable and had his WhatsApp contact info in the eBay ad so that made it easier to reach out to him. Cost me $13.99 and my AT&T Note 8 is fully SIM unlocked.. problem is I tried to activate it on Sprint and since it apparently still has a balance on it they couldn't add it to inventory.. quite the pain in the ass.
Does AT&T unlock the phone for free after 14 days of ownership?
I had bought my s8 from Best Buy and completed the unlock form on the at&t site 15 days after purchase and got the unlock code within 2 days.
11 days to go for my Note 8, i will let you know
As far as I know, you have to pay off the phone first before they will unlock it. I unlocked my previous AT&T phone that way.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to get my Note8 on September 12th. I put in my unlock request at around 10am today and got my unlock code at 1pm. So they were at least super quick doing it.
Here's a bit of a tip:
If you don't have another carrier sim to put in after you get your unlock code you can just dial this #7465625*638*# and it will ask you for the Network Code. Type in the digits AT&T gave you and it'll say unlocked once successfully entered.

T-Mobile 8T+ unlock

Why do I read posts on here about everyone having success in getting t-mobile to unlock their phones even when their still being financed and I have talked to 5 different reps and everyone of them has flat out told me they will not unlock my phone until I pay it off?
I use the same recommended story that I'm an app developer and I need my bootloader unlocked which requires the device to be unlocked.

Have you been with T-Mobile long? I suspect they're more willing if you've been a customer for years and have remained in good standing, always paying your bills in time. Not saying that you haven't, I just think that will help. Maybe they're less inclined with new customers, though I'm just speculating.
Get at T-Force on Twitter, that's what I did. I was honest with them, told them I had to travel (so the unlock for me just happens to also help me here). They initially tried to do the temporary unlock and when that didn't work for whatever reason, they forced the full unlock. Took 5 minutes tops. Of course, YMMV...it depends on the rep you get. If one won't do it, try again the next day and you'll likely get a different rep.

they helped me with the unlock today.
https://www.oneplus.com/unlock_token
So I would love if I could get this XDA community alive as far as the KB2007 is concerned. To update everyone with the process thus far.
I bought two Oneplus 8T+ From T-Mobile less than a month ago. Also started new service with them, go me!!!
I love the functionality of a rooted device. I've been using a non rooted S9+ on att for the last 2+ years.
So here we are.... I buy the phones, take them home. Only to see my OEM unlock greyed out..... DAMMIT.
I call t-mobile, they tell me I have to wait 40 days from the date purchased for them to unlock the SIM. Mark the day on my calendar.
Not really patient for that, so I started looking on good ole' XDA.
To my surprise I find some info that says I should message t-mobile on fb.
Why not??? Lets try it. They got the unlock done within 5 minutes.
Permanent unlock lets gooo!!!! So I reach out to oneplus, to get the bootloader unlocked. Got the unlock code. Used the website, pending application! GREAT!
So questions for the future. Is there any good OnePlus k2007 OFFICIAL Roms out?
And should I be fine using https://androidbiits.com/root-t-mobile-oneplus-8t-plus-5g-kb2007-easily/
as a source to root from? Any information would be gladly appreciated.

Lineage, crDroid, etc, all works with KB2007 with single SIM support. You can flash Global/EU/India OOS for dual SIM support.
It says there are no known issues from converting. So it won't make it anymore difficult for me to connect to tmobile towers? Is there anything I need to lookout for while doing this? Seems like a wild method. Why does the conversion need to happen. Jc?
Radio is not affected.
Do you want Dual SIM? That's the big thing it enables, along with faster updates w/o T-Mobile in the way.

If you flashed back to stock by using MSM for instance you have to start over as if you are taking the phone from the box.
Everything you did prior to the recovery is history and irrelevant to the current state of your phone with the exception of the unlock token.
You don't need a new one the original one will work.

Question S21+ T-Mobile locked issue

I jumped on the S21+ T-Mobile variant as it was offered with extra $100 off, cheaper than unlocked. I assumed the phone would be able to be used on any carrier since it would be fully paid off. But inserting my Verizon sim, I'm greeted with it saying the sim is unlocked and a reason code 132. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on, what I should try, or just return for unlocked version?
Try calling T-Mobile for the unlock code. I thought phones in the US weren't locked anymore or maybe they won't be in the future. Good luck!

Thanks. I'm working with T-Mobile now, and they have suggested that I make a T-Mobile account then try to unlock it. Hoping all goes well
T-Mobile can't even *see* the phone to unlock it if it isn't attached to a T-Mobile SIM, so they won't be able to unlock it (nevermind willing) without that. If you can get one in there, you might be able to use 'team of experts' through Facebook or Twitter and have them unlock it, they're pretty good about working around normal limitations when you explain situations to them. We were able to get a still on EIP iPhone unlocked when we were in the Philippines by letting the TES agent know we were wanting to put a local SIM in, I would hope they'd be willing to work with you if you let them know you didn't realize it would be locked.
Will eat into your $100 discount some, though, with the risk that they tell you it still has to be active on T-Mobile for 45 days. I've always had good luck with them, they seem to be more capable of independent thought than a normal call-center person, provided you're calm with them.

So thank you for the suggestion. The Twitter TMobile contact was the secret. After hours on the phone with T-Mobile support (and without being super critical they were just NOT very knowledgeable .... I think I knew more than they did) the Twitter alternative was quick and easy. They added the IMEI to their system and I was unlocked in less than 24 hours.

Odin is a Samsung tool, so that wouldn't work on a Motorola.

Considering it for a potential buy. Buyer is asking $75, so the price is right. I won't be going on metro though, I have way too many lines as it is. It's cheaper to just unlock than pay for 4 months of service, she had it on network for 40ish days and the metro rep says I can pick up where she left off.....which surprised me. I figured it'd be continuous service and/or per an account....but apparently not.

It lists band 13 in the specs (I don't see any CDMA listed but I could have missed it, and I'm not really concerned about 3g anyway). But I guess it won't be listed in verizon's white list (IIRC that's how they validate IMEIs?). I've heard of peeps calling to get the imei added, but that seems like a long shot.....

I'm assuming you meant SELLER is asking $75.
And no, 180 days total is what Metro requires - doesn't have to be continuous or even on the same number

No, no CDMA. But most areas are VoLTE now anyways, so it's not as needed anymore.
Here's Verizon's BYOD check page: https://www.verizonwireless.com/onedp/byod

You don't have to pay for the full 6 months of service to get it unlocked. I've gotten 4 phones so far from Metro and I always only pay the 1st month, cancel, then chuck it in a drawer and leave it there for the next 5 months. Haven't had any issues unlocking. I've heard of people filing FCC complaints to get devices unlocked early, but I think they may have paid for their devices outright instead of getting it in some sort of promo. YMMV.

What makes you think this period is six months? T-mobile's website states "At least 365 days must have passed since the device was activated on the T Mobile network" for prepaid phones.

For T-Mobile yes. (Although they'll also unlock a prepaid device once $100 in refills have been paid).
But the past 10 or so messages have been about Metro, not T-Mobile
