[HELP] DAC stopped working with phone - General Questions and Answers

Got a call while playing music through Poweramp with a Tempotec Sonata HD Pro DAC attached to my Samsung Galaxy S9+. The music paused as it normally does when i answered the call but when i got off the call my DAC would no longer work with my phone, be it in Poweramp, Youtube, or anything that plays audio. Within Poweramp I recently disabled the "pause in call" setting after this event occured which didnt change anything. Within PowerAmp I tried enabling "Force Speaker Off" which didnt work either. In PowerAmp I disabled ducking as well.
After exploring my developer options i found that, without me enabling it myself, "Disable USB Audio Routing" had been enabled on its own. I disabled it, and it worked for a couple minutes. Attempting to verify the fix was bulletproof/absolute i unplugged the DAC from my phone and reinserted it at which point again it stopped being able to play. "Disable USB Audio Routing" did not re-enable by itself again and remains disabled yet i still cant get the DAC to work with the entirety of my phone. I tested the DAC on another phone and it works fine. I have a second DAC that also works on the other phone with no issue, but not the one im having issues with.
I cleared the cache of various apps such as Poweramp, the system app "usbsettings", and even cleared the data of the system app "usbsettings" after seeing a post by someone on a different site with a semi-similar issue saying that it might work but that didn't work for me. Audio only plays through speakers and the 3.5mm port. Please help me!!! Does anyone know what i can do to fix this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
PS. I've had this issue in the past( as in the DAC not being playable after a phone call) but it was usually immediately fixed by plugging my phone into a charger or restarting the phone but now neither of those seem to be working as a current solution.

Wired headset issues: sound not playing through it.

My wired headset has never worked like in Windows Mobile. Polaris just refuses to play music through it. I think developers are working on this, but some users have found workarounds that work.
I created this topic to keep track of this issue in order to give it the importance I think it has. I hope you think the same.
I also agree that this issue deserves more attention from the developers, especially because, at least for me, is the main inconvenience with Froyo at the moment (this and the related issue with usb mounting and adb).
I can confirm that one workaround is to plug either the headset or usb in recovery mode and then quitting into android, after that it works as normal until the next reboot, in the sense that if you unplug and replug the headset / usb it will recognize it. I don't know if it will be hard to fix, but it seems that android cannot communicate with the usb port after fully booting.
Same problem here. The recovery mode workaround does recognize USB but it would not recognize my wired headset.
The working around for the wired headset RC W100
The headset is working with Incubus RLS12 only when you unplug the headset it isn't directly play on the phone speaker.
You have to stop playing (pause) and turn off (end key) the screen. Unlock the screen and start playing with the music on the phone speaker.
It isn't necessary to reboot with the headset connected to enable it.
Hi!
I can't get my wired headset to play music through it. Unless I've not understand the workaround it does not work for me. Here is what I've done:
- stopped the music player (while playing through phone speaker);
- switched off the display;
- connected the wired headset;
- start playin' again but it plays always through phone speaker;
Thank u.
I can confirm this issue.
I really love the work done with Android, but I can't use it as an MP3 player, because my wired headset doesn't work.
Is this known with the developers, and being looked in to?
Nothing new on this issue so far?
Up!
I am still ionterested in this issue!

[Q] Sensation XE: Bluetooth headphone problem.

I am hoping somebody would help solve my problem. I have a Calypso SP bluetooth headphone. My phone shows it's connected to the device but the sound from music player still come out from the main speaker.When i got the sound to the headphone, there's this crackling sound coming out. I have tried pairing and unpairing the device a few times, but the results are still the same. It doesn't have any problem when paired with my galaxy s.
same problem here i would also like to know if there is a fix.
What ROM are you using?
IGNORE - misread your question, sorry. Many people experience poor A2DP audio quality on the Sensation. Some headsets seem to sound okay, others don't, even though they may be fine when used with other devices. Search and you'll find some info in various threads. More recent ROMs have solved or reduced the problem for some people.
Just a quick check, are you paired to your device for both phone and media audio?
To check, if you're using Gingerbread, go into Bluetooth Settings (settings/wireless and networks), then press and hold on the device you are connected to and select 'options' in the menu that pops up. This will take you to another menu where you can check which features you are connected to. Sometimes mine only connects to 'phone audio' on my headset and I have to re-enable media audio.
Thanks for the reply. My phone is on stock firmware. This problem only happened recently. Before this i never encounter this problem. I found another problem where the volume control doesn't work when I'm using bluetooth. The same problem also occurs when i use the original earphone where the volume control detects bluetooth device even when it's not paired. I tried resetting my phone earlier and the problem is still there. Maybe i'll take it to the service center and have it fixed.
Fixed, with some sacrifice..
After fiddling around the whole night, i tried to do the restore factory setting from the recovery mode. Somehow it fixed the problem. So it might be some software or an app bug that caused the problem. Now to do a some serious apps downloading and setup.

[Q] Force phone audio to phone earpiece when connected to Bluetooth device.

Hi, I recently flashed my phone (Galaxy Note 3) with CM 11 and my Galaxy Gear with null_23.
I connected the two of them via Bluetooth and everything seemed to work perfectly, until someone called me...
That was when I noticed that my phone forwards my audio to my gear speakers as it counts equivalently to any bluetooth earpiece. I tried unchecking Phone audio profile in bluetoth device settings but that completely disconnects my gear. (I should probably also mention the reason I want them connected is cause I'm using Bluetooth tethering for internet access on my gear).
I tried using an app I found called SoundAbout that forced audio device but it did so by (unchecking phone audio profile?) disconnecting the gear entirely.. which is not preferable.
I have been trying to search around for any info on how to do this, but all I've ever found has been to do the opposite, force bluetooth over other outputs.
Currently I have to change the output manually every time I answer/call someone, which takes a few sec where the other party wonders why I'm not responding..
I thought I would be able to change default phone audio output in my phone app or something, but no, no such setting is available.. its frustrating to be stuck with so little customisation even after invreasing it with a custom ROM... dang..
Thanks for any help!

usa snapdragon s10e headphones audio disconnects

About 2-3 weeks ago i connected my BT headphones trying to listen to mp3 files on my phone. After about 1 minute audio stopped. I tried a different pair. Same thing. Tried a third pair, same problem. Same with wired headphones. I tried stopping restarting BT, restarting phone. Nothing worked. I found a video how to fix BT in s10 but in my case it's the same with wired. I tried different mp3 files. Nothing works. Doesn't matter if i use VLC or file manager integrated audio player. I may be wrong but i think it started around the time of the second update. Anything can be done about it?
UPDATE: found solution in case others have same problem with media files when using headphones. For some strange reason it happened only when i used headphones. I guess it had to do with battery optimization when screen is turned off. Link is for s10+ but worked for my s10e.

Unable to play music from bluetooth headphones

Hey Guys,
I am trying to play anything from my headphones but there is no audio coming out of it. I am able to pair it and connect it to my device. As soon as I switch my audo device from the menu I am able to hear music cominig through my speakers with delayed output of the music that I was playing. I tried two headphones with the same result.
The device is rooted with Magisk having OOS 11.0.8.14.KB05DA. I am not sure which logs to provide
Please help.
Has bluetooth ever worked?
I assume it has so walk your modifications back to the last point in time in which bluetooth was working.
Yeah it used to work. Actually it works for a second after reboot. Then it stops
You have a mod of some sort that is screwing things up.
No, I have ony 2 things in my modules
1) Substratum
2) Systemless Hosts
So I just disabled substratium theme and magisk modules then everything works. Then I enabled them back again and the issue is somehow resolved. I am not sure what happened but now headphones are working fine.
Guys, I am facing the issue again. Can it be because of safetynet??
