Unable to play music from bluetooth headphones - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
I am trying to play anything from my headphones but there is no audio coming out of it. I am able to pair it and connect it to my device. As soon as I switch my audo device from the menu I am able to hear music cominig through my speakers with delayed output of the music that I was playing. I tried two headphones with the same result.
The device is rooted with Magisk having OOS 11.0.8.14.KB05DA. I am not sure which logs to provide
Please help.

Has bluetooth ever worked?
I assume it has so walk your modifications back to the last point in time in which bluetooth was working.

Yeah it used to work. Actually it works for a second after reboot. Then it stops

You have a mod of some sort that is screwing things up.

No, I have ony 2 things in my modules
1) Substratum
2) Systemless Hosts

So I just disabled substratium theme and magisk modules then everything works. Then I enabled them back again and the issue is somehow resolved. I am not sure what happened but now headphones are working fine.

Guys, I am facing the issue again. Can it be because of safetynet??

Microphone on headsets not working after update to 5.1.1

Struggling with 3 different wired head set mics (inc MDR-NC31E) not working after update to 5.1.1 also really low bluetooth volume (mic) when in the car with hands free. Speakers all work fine wired and Bluetooth
UK sim free, encrypted for work reasons - everything else vanilla
any help gratefully recieved
update - I've now had 2 incidents where when I dialed out the handset mic didn't work, the work around was to tap the output button to turn the phone into a speaker phone for a moment and then back again.

Having same issue over here, its working with most apss excpet for skype which is a software that I use everyday. Finding no solution yet :c
Googling led me to:
- Downloading Soundabout
- Clearing data of Speed Connect
- Installing older versions of skype
All with no avail :C
please help ;-;
I have the same isssue and it happened right after the update, the workaround did work for a bit but it's getting worse to the point where I have to reboot the phone to get it to work again.
Now I noticed that this only happens after I use SoundCloud to listen to music.
I didn't use it for few days and I didn't have the issue,so maybe some apps trigger this.

It's fixed in the latest update 23.4.A.1.200

Bluetooth Media Issue

I've searched extensively and can't seem to find the specific answer I'm looking for. Ever since my phone updated to 5.1.1 my Bluetooth media connection won't work, just my call audio. This really pisses me off because I JUST bought a new head unit for my car so I could stream audio from my phone. My phone is not rooted and I wasn't planning on going through the hassle of rooting this one. Is there a fix without rooting? If not, will rooting and flashing a custom ROM fix the issue? I see there are some marshmallow ROMs already out.
I'm on 5.1.1 and have to power on and off my Bluetooth adapter half the time. Phone doesn't connect to data wifi or blue tooth in till adaptor is rebooted. Says it's connected.
I've tried it. Turned off bluetooth and turned it back on, as well as went into the bluetooth settings and turned "call audio" and "media audio" off/on multiple times. For less than a second if I have music playing it will play through the car and then the phone kicks media audio off again.
After I'm connected, I can take a call and music resumes. I've had problems with some apps that updates have fixed. But not what your describing. Maybe one of the auto connect apps from the play store?

You cannot root the phone even if you wanted to because of the locked bootloader. Do you have the latest firmware update for your head unit? If not see if updating it may help. I have a top of the line Kenwood NAV head unit that worked without a hitch on my S4. When I got the S6 calls worked fine but I couldn't get audio to work. I found a solution on a Kenwood support site and now it works without any issues. Somehow settings were changed when I switch from the S4 to the S6. Also could there be an issue with your mobile data?

Audio jack detection issue since MM upgrade

Hello there.
Since updating to MM I have the following issue on my Z5: When inserting headphones or an aux cable, the phone switches back and forth between headphones and speaker for a couple of seconds, before finally settling on headphones and playing as it should. This is a problem because I have a Tasker task that relies on headphone detection and now it doesn't work properly.
I had the issue with the small apps after upgrading, so I already did a system reset, which solved the small apps issue, but not the headphones issue.
Already tried disabling SmartConnect and booting in SafeMode. No luck.
There is apparently another person with this issue on the Sony forums, so I'm not the only one.
Anyone know a solution?
Cheers,
Alex
I have the same issue, but only with the aux cable. When I connect my earphone, everything seems to be fine. So I think maybe the phone has some issue with one particular model of aux input? because there are several type of aux plug now.

I have had this problem with other Z series phones but not the Z5 yet.
As reported above my phone when I plug just headphones stereo only (two contact plug) into the phone gives me an ear icon for headphone optimisation and with an automatic headphones actions.
If I plug a headset in (three contact plug) I get additional headset options, plus automatic headset actions.
My guess is you have a conflict with the Sony built in functionality and the Takser task you mention.
@xperia z3 I have only had this happen previously if my headphone hadn't fully located in the headphones jack
So, how can this be fixed?

my guess would be try to disable any apps trying to hijack the sonys built in process and see if that fixes the issue

I have done a system repair through PC Companion and the problem is still there, on a fresh setup, with no 3rd party apps. I'll wait a while to see if there's an update that might fix this, if not I'll have to send the phone in. Luckily I bought it in late December, so I have still time to use my warranty.
Edit: Oh, and the issue with the small apps is still there, I have found out that it's caused by active accessibility settings, in my case tasker, but others have that same problem with other apps.
i'm dealing with the same exact thing. i did a factory reset, and it still persists. at first i thought it was hardware, then i installed soundabout. when i force output through wired headset they work fine leading me to believe this is software related. really frustrating, not sure what else to do.

bluetooth no call audio pixel

I used to be able to hear calls and media whilst connected to bluetooth in my car. one day it just stopped working. media still works but when i make a call or receive one, there's no audio. calls ,audio, and contacts are all checked in bluetooth settings. i've forgotten devices, rebooted, reconnecting, and nothing helps.
bluetooth connects to everything fine, but no call sound over any accessory i try. got a new car and it won't work in there either. i'm on android 7.1.2 .
searched all over and plenty of people are having these issues but none of the posts i've read solve my problem. any help would be appreciated
Hey hey, I have a 128GB pixel with the same issue. I actually opened a case with Google support today about it. about 3 months back, only phone audio stopped working in my car. I was hoping the 8.0 update would fix it but it did not. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. I tried everything on my phone - even factory reset. Media audio works, I can play Spotify just fine but when i get a call, I can not hear the other person and they cannot hear me. The phone indicates it is connected via bluethooth... I'll try to update this post with what they find.

128G pixel here. This happens with every Bluetooth device I connect it to. 2 car stereos, 2 speakers, and a headset. All worked fine and suddenly one day... Didn't. I was hoping O Would fix it with all the Bluetooth bug fixes and changes they implemented.

Darn, so the issue is a bit different. Mine works fine on a couple of other speakers I have.
Did anyone ever solve this? I've got the same issue, but it effects *all* my Bluetooth devices, but only when I am switched to my secondary user profile.
I've reset the phone app but no dice.
My phone will say it is connected to the Bluetooth device for the phone call. If I switch to speaker or phone and then back to Bluetooth, it works. Anyone else have similar?

Hi!
After hours of Googling you are the first I found who has the same error.
I have a Lenovo TAB4 8+, my kid wants to use Zoom and his Bluetooth headset but only the speaker and mic on the tablet works. I tried fresh install, without luck:
There are 4 type of users:
- Owner (primary - this is the only profile which works for calls on bluetooth headset)
- Standard Users (secondary - bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Child (bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Guest
The bluetooth headset is working with other devices, but not with this one. Unfortunately I have no other android device which supports multi-user.
Moreover, there was an hour when bt call worked from secondary user, but couldn't find out what is the problem.
Can anybody help me on this?
Best regards,
Karoly

[HELP] DAC stopped working with phone

Got a call while playing music through Poweramp with a Tempotec Sonata HD Pro DAC attached to my Samsung Galaxy S9+. The music paused as it normally does when i answered the call but when i got off the call my DAC would no longer work with my phone, be it in Poweramp, Youtube, or anything that plays audio. Within Poweramp I recently disabled the "pause in call" setting after this event occured which didnt change anything. Within PowerAmp I tried enabling "Force Speaker Off" which didnt work either. In PowerAmp I disabled ducking as well.
After exploring my developer options i found that, without me enabling it myself, "Disable USB Audio Routing" had been enabled on its own. I disabled it, and it worked for a couple minutes. Attempting to verify the fix was bulletproof/absolute i unplugged the DAC from my phone and reinserted it at which point again it stopped being able to play. "Disable USB Audio Routing" did not re-enable by itself again and remains disabled yet i still cant get the DAC to work with the entirety of my phone. I tested the DAC on another phone and it works fine. I have a second DAC that also works on the other phone with no issue, but not the one im having issues with.
I cleared the cache of various apps such as Poweramp, the system app "usbsettings", and even cleared the data of the system app "usbsettings" after seeing a post by someone on a different site with a semi-similar issue saying that it might work but that didn't work for me. Audio only plays through speakers and the 3.5mm port. Please help me!!! Does anyone know what i can do to fix this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
PS. I've had this issue in the past( as in the DAC not being playable after a phone call) but it was usually immediately fixed by plugging my phone into a charger or restarting the phone but now neither of those seem to be working as a current solution.
