My wife has a 2020 Moto G Sylus. There is no low light button available so all her Duo calls are dark. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a way to get this enabled?
Thanks!!!
Sorry I am not. Well I'm not sorry, lol. But I'll keep my eye out.

Hi,
I just bought the Nexus S from bestbuy.
I'm having trouble with the in call volume which is too low.
It almost impossible to hear the other side while in a noisy room.
I used the left button to bring it to the maximum but it almost doesn't help.
Did any of you experienced such an issue?
Is anyone familiar with any HW\SW solution ?
Thanks!
Oren
Just wondering if anyone us hearing an audible clicking noise coming from the phone when typing with vibrate on keypress switched on. For me it's every five or so key presses there is an audible click noise, as if the vibrating part hits something.it's not too loud, but loud enough to be heard. If you use a keyboard that lets you change the vibration duration, shorter durations such as 10ms or below results in it happening every keypress.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I had this too on 2 Moto G.
Sent from my HUAWEI Y300-0100 using xda app-developers app
Did you also hear the same noise when going in and out of the camera?
Just wanted to know if it's normal really or if I should be seeking a replacement. Have a feeling it's going to get annoying!
I get them both too, don't think it's anything to worry about.
The camera one is something to do with auto focus as far as I'm aware, and I use Google Keyboard from the Play store with swiping to type so I don't notice the haptic feedback one as much any more.

This is driving me slowly nuts. I type pretty fast using SwiftKey which seems to make it more noticeable. I guess the shorter it vibrates the more it clicks or taps or whatever it's doing to make the annoying noise.
Is there anyone that DOESN'T get this? I'm seriously tempted to return it at this point in the hope of getting one that doesn't make a tapping clicking noise when it vibrates on touch. So it would be good to know if there are people out there who haven't experienced this.
I have two Moto G's at the moment.
The first one has a permanently stuck on blue pixel in the middle of the screen.
So I bought another (to transfer across and then refund the first). The second unit has this click with haptics.
The tone of the vibrate / haptic is noticeably different between the two phones too (the clicking unit sounds much buzzier).
So thumbs up for Moto Quality Control...
I took the phone which makes this noise with the haptics on apart, and can confirm that the noise is not from the buttons on the side rattling or any other part in the back of the phone. It sounds to me like it is making some component of the earpiece or the front camera rattle.
For anyone interested, here is a photo of the inside of the back cover that I took:

So we have one person confirming that at least one device does not have the rattling vibration. Mine definitely has this and it's sounding from those I've asked that it is more common than not. Well this sucks. I guess I can go without haptic at all. Because it's darn annoying. Sounds like a cheap toy. I'm still slightly tempted to return mine and see if the next one they send does not have the rattle.

This is what mine sounds like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmJPscnVodg
Does yours sound like that? It's really annoying and sould like a defect. At least I hope that's a defect because it's horrible.

From those I've talked with, that's actually the more common experience. If you don't have the rattle, you lucked out.

I think you are correct - at least for units currently on sale via Tesco in the UK. My update - 3 of the 4 I've had through my hands have had the rattle. 2 have had stuck pixels (one which disappeared of it's own accord). So:
Phone 1: Quiet vibrate + 1 perma-stuck pixel + case corner creaking
Phone 2: Clicky vibrate
Phone 3: Clicky vibrate + stuck pixel (fixed itself)
Phone 4: Clicky vibrate
Did you buy through Tesco? I wonder if they got em cheap... they are certainly selling them cheaper than everywhere else.
I am beginning to think this is a characteristic - but it does detract a bit from the experience (especially with haptics turned on at the factory).
You could reduce the haptic duration for the AOSP keyboard which improves things while texting (try 10-13ms), and disable system haptics for other stuff.
Guys, did we get a conclusion if this is normal on this device? Mine does this as well.
Thanks

I think it is pretty normal. It's just cheap. Although it just might be a failure to properly attach the vibrating mechanism to whatever it attaches too. I have talked to some people with even the Moto x and they said that all of a sudden one day, theirs started making this sound. As if it detached. I have also seen a Nexus 4 with the issue.
In all likelihood, if you got a different Moto G, it will have the same issue. But it's really not bad at all if you turn haptic feedback off in general and for the your keyboard input.
So this is not a Moto G problem, I think. I've noticed in KitKat (on an Atrix HD first and now the Moto G) after I place a few calls the volume randomly lowers. Even though it is turned all the way up it is hard to hear people. When I reboot the phone it goes back to normal.
Has anyone experienced this and/or know why? When I had the Atrix I figured it was because KK was unofficial, but now the Moto G still does it at times.

We are also experiencing this on the moto g however I don't on my nexus 5. I find that frequently my fiance is having this issue. It is fixed on her phone by turning the volume down and back up again but it's still annoying. Affects her speakerphone as well. If you come up with a fix or find anything out I would sure like to know

Likewise on my Tesco Moto G volume on calls is suddenly very quiet until I turn the volume down and back up - very annoying.
Moto G (Tesco sourced on Giffgaff sim) -
I thought I was hearing things (...or not as the case turns out!). Since the kitkat update my call volumes are soooooo low, even on speakerphone.
My speakers are fine for other sounds like music etc but not for any calls.
Hope this can be resolved as I'm a bit 'mutton Geoff' at the best of times.
My cousin is having the same issue. This is a baddd problem! I wonder why more people aren't reporting this... Does anybody have any idea of what could be causing the issue?

Really wish I knew, it is definitely software related i'm about 90% sure so i'm hoping either an update fixes it or i'll have to root and hope I can fix it that way. We did download an app from the play store that kept the volume up but we only have the 8gb version so we took it off to conserve space and just hit the volume up button every time it happens and that does it but ANNOYING. Hopefully soon we see more development for this phone so we have more options
Returned my Moto G for one of a different color and I think the vibration may be different on this unit... Sounds kind of like a rattle, maybe a touch higher pitched. Kinda.. cheap-sounding? Anyone else have this, or an I imagining it? (I no longer have my old unit to compare)
not in mine .. it was clear up to 80% to 90 , there will be distortion when i keep at FULL ,
i recorded my screen with SCR REC , even though it cant justify .. i was just wishing it would give u some idea what it sounds like at FULL VOLUME .. ( recorded song is mazhai vara pogudhae in case if you want to compare )
but i am sure its good.. no Rattling sounds
Screen Recording : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N95_fk5wszo
if there is any way to know how it sounds ?? any app ?? let me know .. i will try to do it and give you the results..
Hahah sorry, I meant the actual vibration motor. (ie when receiving a text or with haptic feedback on the keyboard.) The audio speaker is fine.

I have this problem too! I just bought my Moto G a few days ago, and the vibration was ok. But lately I've been hearing a strange rattle when it vibrates, just like you said. Were you able to find out the cause of it?
Hi,
My dad has a Moto G3 2GB RAM variant, the phone is out of warranty but working perfectly fine except that the call volume is too low.
Now, it's not a new problem, my dad said it was low from the starting but he managed, now it's unbearable.
I want to fix it permanently, can I root and install ROMS? Does that fix it? I don't know. Please guide me, someone
update: I just want to point out that the speaker volume while playing songs is good, just not good during calls. This is definitely a software bug and I'm surprised no-one has addressed or found a solution to it. Even Moto G5 plus faces the same issue.
You can try this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/20...-native-volume-boost-apps-mixerpaths-t3217132

This mod messes with all volume levels. It can damage the speaker.

Clear the upper speaker..the speaker adjacent to front camera
