Probably best to go back to your retailer and get them to replace it. This doesn't sound normal and maybe a hardware fault?
I have a problem with tempered glass installed.
The touch no longer works properly on the right edge of the phone. Especially with the "back" gesture and when I go to the three dots on the top right corner of Google Chrome.
Has anyone found a tempered glass that doesn't have the problem or another solution for this?
Thanks

I have the same problem with the Spigen tempered glass. That was one of the two tested ones.
But only on the right edge of the phone. The left side works well
The solution in my case now was to apply this screen protector:
Crocfol Schutzfolie vom Testsieger [2 St.] kompatibel mit Sony Xperia 5 II / 5 III- selbstheilende Premium 5D Langzeit-Panzerfolie - inkl. Kamera schutzfolien (Case-friendly mit Veredelung) : Amazon.de: Elektronik & Foto

I have no problems with that! Really great

I have the same protector and sometimes hitting the 3 dots in the top right corner with Chrome doesn't work. I have to make sure my finger is more flat on the display for it to register in that area of the screen. I haven't tried it without the screen protector.

I've removed the OEM screen protector (with nexus 5 logo in the middle), and put another one on, i put it on a tiny amount of centre, and is starting to come off on one corner, but underneath that I can see an air bubble type thing underneath the screen protector, does anyone else have that problem?

Thats just an air bubble because the screenprotector is a bit placed off side , nothing to worry about.

I've taken off the screen protector I put on, but can still see a bubble on the side
Edit: I didn't take off the film above the screen protector, it seems.

I have been looking and can't find it no where.
I've also searched the entire net but can't find it nowhere.
Does anyone know what technology is used in that screen protector. We can try to make our own if we new that.
The Navigation bar will move to the bottom bezel after you deactivate and close it in the Settings, while the upper bezel corners will activate certain apps like camera etc.. when swiped.

They have some inivisible wiring done in that screen protector. the touch on protector's buttons translates to simultaneous touches in certain areas of device. These simultaneous touches can be used to trigger home, back or whatever function huawei has coded in.

There is one thing. The p8 is global with there bands, can be be used any where, has full huawei support from the main site, and since all that is the case the p8 and the p8 maxx would be there flag ships and get the accessories before any of the other phone will even hope to get them. Thats why I am hoping that a china company makes a cheap version of it and I will bet money they will. The way they are sell these phones. They just have to get rid of a few more screen protectors first, they don't want to get stuck with them if everyone move on over to touchplus protectors. I'd pay 30 to 40 bucks for one.
How does this even work? How does the phone know you pressed buttons off the screen?
I love the idea of more screen real estate!

The software on the phone ( see the Touchplus under your settings ) simply monitors if a signal happened at x location.
Under the touchplus protector there is a micro thin wire going from the front ( where you see the buttons ) to the back ( that touches your screen ).
As you press the button, you create a electric contact with your skin's electricity field, this signal is send to the back of your protector, to the phone where the software picks up this signal on that exact location.
And because the signal is send using a thin wire, its impossible to mistake this with a finger press because our fingers our huge so the location of the electric field is way more massive.

That is pretty impressive to say the least!
I hate on screen buttons as they take away screen real estate. I will definitely be picking one of these up whenever they are available!
I wonder why they didn't just put the buttons down at the bottom of the phone in the first place?
Hi,
Just got this phone and I can't be 100% if it has a screen protector fitted to it already or it is one of the normal in box protectors just a bit thicker.
I don't really like it to be honest - I normally don't use screen protectors so wonder if someone removed it from theirs and how it is.
Thanks

It's a factory installed screen protector.. If I'm not mistaken, most honor phones come with one installed.. Like the 7x as well.. Up to you if you want to remove it..

Cheers, that's what I suspected..
The screen feels too resistant and a bit like an old tactile touch screen instead of a smooth 2018 screen with it on.
. I'll try it for a few days before I decide to take it off or not.

If you're on the latest 130 firmware version, touch sensitivity has gone down from the factory 100 version. It might not be the SP fault for low sensitivity..

Without the poly film screen is better. In fact with poly film the touches were sometimes not working and was not that smooth. For better experience you should remove it and use the phone or use any screen protector. Honor can ship something better in future.
The back cover is fine though and looks good with phone
On my phone the screen protector is not applied properly. It is at a slight angle so there is a small gap on the top half between the protector and the edge of the screen. That makes a sliver of brighter screen; it looks a bit weird.
I've just noticed how dirty this screen protector gets. It seems to catch fingerprints into a dull grey film and it doesn't wipe easily. I will have to remove the thing.

Does who have the Mate 30 pro, how is the usage of the Side-Touch LR buttons with a screen protector attached? Does it work?
Works fine. I have Huawei fitted protector that curls around and have no problems left or right.

I also had one fitted at the Huawei store from which I bought the phone, and had no problems....except it cracked. I replaced it with another protector and it also worked fine...except it also cracked, oddly in exactly the same place, about 2cm below the top right corner. I wonder if it is because of some way I store it, or perhaps the gap between the screen protector and the case, which I also have fitted, it too narrow, so that when the case hits something slightly, it bends the screen.....just a guess. Anyway, the cracks weren't major and I'm leaving this one until it grows too big. My 2nd screen came in a pack of two, so I have another one ready
I have to wonder, though, if it is all worth it...
Hi,
I just mounted a cheap one bundled with a cover I bought and the fingerprint sensor became near unusable, failing to read like 4/5 of the times... not surprised, I just wanted to start using the phone ASAP before buying a better screen protector.
So, do you have some brand/model that you experienced working good using the fingerprint reader?
Thanks in advance.
P.S.
I noticed that some kits also have an extra glass for the rear cam, it's my first time with such a thick cam so not sure how effective is the protection from the cover only or if the extra glass are 100% needed, what's your advice?

Did you take off the film screen protector that comes pre installed?
The screen protector in using (will say which if interested) works fine 80 percent of the time right away, but sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries.

Is this truly full screen? There are no pics of users with it actually installed, so can you upload a couple?
And you have no fingerprint issues?

2) Go in "3-dots" menu > Additional tools"
3) Find "fod fingerprint calibration"

BTW: i use a screen protector from PKILA (Amazon) without any kind of trouble!
it's a little smaller than the screen because i need more space for the spigen bumper.

Maybe I did something wrong?
Have you deleted your registrated fingerprints first?
Have you rebooted? Re calibrate it again.
At a other forum somebody else has tried this procedure with a sheet of black and a sheet of white paper.
I have not tried this procedure because my sensor is working well.

The instructions aren't clear (it mentions a mirror?) and they're very vague...
I was forced to delete my fingerprints because they just weren't recognized. Not that it's not a good idea, but it would be nice to have clearer instructions. Thanks for the efforts!

Just fitted ******* screen protector with great results and finger print reader working fine
Couldn't be happier
mine works fine with a cheap aliexpress screen protector. i did get one that just covers the screen, cause i use a case them anti choc ones with big corner bumper i love them, fit great and gives a lip at the front so the screen doesnt hit first.
but after the install u need to remove all finger prints at reput them.
works fine but i still hate underscreen ones... when ever my fingers are dry or dirty it wont do anything.. while real finger prints always work even with greas or oil on my fingers still unlocks....
