So, I'm using Mix 3. Oneday the display died and the phone still running well. I'm pretty sure since I can still turn on the flash and accept call by touching the screen, while the screen is totally black.
I tried to mirror the display to windows 10 using Vysor and can confirm the phone is running very well except the screen died, though touch is still working ( tried to touch the icon and I can see through Vysor it still responds)
I ordered a replacement LCD, replaced the faulty one. Strange thing is, the screen is still died, but this time it's turning on and off repeatedly whenever I booted to the system. I tried to boot to TWRP and the screen works well, reflash all the ROM ( I tried a bunch of ROMs, Global stable, China stable, Custom Rom, etc). In TWRP the screen works flawlessly, but whenever I booted into the actual OS, it starts to blink on and off again
I can assure that the replacement screen is not faulty at all, since I tried the replacement screen in other phone and it works well
Any idea?

Hi all,
I've had my HTC sensation for about 9 months. I've flashed the phone twice with HD revolution roms. The last flash was conducted about a month ago and is currently running version 3.6.1. Around 2 days ago the phones screen, short cut keys below the screen, power button and volume stopped responding. Upon rebooting the phone the screen and all buttons will respond perfectly normal however. It is only when you turn the screen off or it goes into sleep state automatically after the reboot the screen, shortcut keys, power and volume buttons stop responding again when powered back on. After this the phone needs to have the battery taken out and rebooted before anything can be used again. In this state the phone is completely useless, only being able to be used once the phone has been rebooted and the screen must be prevented from going into a sleep state.
The last form of any sort of software update I can remember before the problem began occuring was updating facebook
I have not tried super wiping and reflashing a new rom yet.
If anyone could suggest something it's highly appreciated.
Regards,
Samuel
I've had the phone quoted by a repairer saying the touch screen needs to be replaced but I don't see how this can be so.
It works perfectly fine on initial boot. It also doesn't explain why all the other buttons cease to work.
Hi Samuel,
by the sound of it I'd say your touchscreen is working fine, I think its more likely that your Android OS has got screwed up a bit at some point. If it was mine I'd do a nandroid backup of your currunt OS, and then superwipe and reflash a fresh installation of ARHD on it. If that doesnt work you can always go back to the nandroid backup you make.
Probably be worth waiting to see what some other XDA members think though.
Good luck with it.
You might check your SD-card for errors.
Hello,
I bought an Desire S with an cracked LCD Display.
So Replaced the LCD, and booted the Phone. It boots up normal HTC Logo-->HTC Jingle, but then the Screen wents black. Backlight still on, phone responds to Power button.
In the Bootloader everything is fine. Fastboot etc. works.
So I booted up the phone, connected USB and flashed this RUU http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...22U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_225161_signed.exe flashing went fine, Phone booted up. Again Black screen.
Does anybody know what i could do about that? May I have to wipe everything manually? Or should i try an custom Rom like Cyanogenmod?
Thanks for your help!
Try reinstalling the screen, it seems like a hardware issue
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Oh great :crying:
Disconnected the Screen again, reinstalled it.
Then I saw a loose pin on the connector. Got that out.
Phone boots up, but no backlight or anything on the screen any more :crying:
Does anybody know how much it would cost to solder an new LCD connector on the board?
Hello,
So yesterday, I pulled my phone out of my pocket after average usage for the day and the screen was completely black, but the capacitive buttons at the bottom would still illuminate and cause vibration when touched. I tried a reset, but the screen wouldn't turn back on after the reboot. I tried booting into recovery, and the screen was still black. I also tried plugging it into both my computer, and a regular outlet when off, on, and in recovery, with no results.
At this point, I am pretty sure the screen is just broken, but I wanted to ask here in case there is something else I can do. If it matters, I was running AOKP/CM Nocturnal Dirty 4.2.
Maybe just bad lcd
I know some people had the same problem with Lollipop but I hadn't any issues. Already updated to latest marshmallow. I dropped my devices a few months ago and the frame took a heavy blow from that. But the screen was working without a problem and had no damage at all. A few days ago I used my phone and took put it on the desk and connected the charger. An hour later I wanted to unlock the S6 and only the lower keys lit up.
Searched a bit and used volume down + power to restart the phone. It worked again and I immediately made a backup (used the Dev options to keep the phone on while charging).
Samsung Store denied to do anything. First they said they might reinstall the whole software by some hardware (as expensive as a two family house ) but the technican said no because they don't know if that reallyhelps or might break the phone :silly:
I tried to reinstall via Samsung switch and odin but the still the screen won't wake up after going to sleep. Sometimes it works a few times but most of the times one time.
Anyone can help me, or is my phone simply broken? :crying:
Have you tried factory reset?
Factory reset via settings menu and recovery. And reinstalled via Samsung switch and odin. Still same problem.
If the screen doesn't turn ON after it turns OFF then it could be bug of some sort . Try downgrading to the build right before the one you updated. There's a few MM builds for the S6. Say you on the latest. Downgrade to the one before that and see

Downgraded to previous version and now the display won't turn on at all. Reverted back to newest version, and stays black. Look like now I finally broke it
I used it yesterday for about an hour with the screen always on and it just worked. The screen still recognizes touch input and the pc shows me the phone has started.

Really whoa. OK take your S6 to a technician and ask them to check if the LCD cable is connected properly. That thing can come out easily
Just tried to restart the phone with volume down and power button and it suddenly showed the samsung boot logo. It was kinda dimmed and not the bright white it used to be but when the it finally booted up everything was fine.
Only way is a technican as you said. Sad is Samsung is not going to do that on guaranty because of the damage on the frame
Hello
Today my SM930F seems to have freezed. Basically I picked up the phone and the display would light up only one pixel. Others are utterly black. I tried rebooting the phone. PWR + VOL DOWN, tried rebooting into recovery and download. It seems to reboot into them just fine, but I can't operate them, beacuse nothing shows up. Screen is dead black. Phone is recognised by my computer and Odin. Seems to be charging normally when plugged in a wall charger. As I recall the phone was running a stock rom. LED and soft keys light up normally. Glass is a cracked on both sides of my phone, but I think it's a software issue. In other threads people have reported that Spotify app can cause similar problems and I have it installed.
EDIT: it seems that I cannot boot into download - I tried it, plugged my phone and flashed a stock rom. Whole process ended in 5 seconds, so it seems that the device is either still powered on or hangs on a bootloop - idk
