Just curious how you guys think it'll fare on the network.
The currently listed A-C models don't seem like they'd do particularly well, given the bands, especially as AT&T deploys more bands. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-asus-zenfone-6 will show the band support vs the US carriers.
But we are getting a US release, so it may be another model variant not quite listed yet, which would have better band support. I'd be surprised if they released it as it.
The review from Android Police said it could barely connect to AT&T's LTE. That suggests limited band support in the version they were using. Perhaps a different version will be better?

The bhphotovideo listing appears to be the C version for the North American variant.
Edit: It could be filler though, as nobody is really sure what we are getting.

I'm wondering if they didn't have the C variant that has the main AT&T LTE bands.
They didn't say, so it's possible they had an A or B variant. The C variant specs I say study lol like it had all of AT&T's bands. Could had have been wrong though.

Yeah, seems like it's just missing some capacity bands (29, 30, 66), but has all coverage bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 17).
i used it with T-Mobile and didnt get as great service as i did w/ my OnePlus 7 Pro. I believe it was Version A and only utilizing Bands 2 / 5.

The TMobile bands u need are 2, 4, and 12
For areas in smaller towns u may or may not need 71

Received my Zenfone 6 from ASUS USA on Wednesday. No AT&T LTE connection! I do not know if it is version A B or C - is there any way to tell?
Somewhat disappointed since I got this to replace my Zenfone 2 that was working well with AT&T LTE. I made the unfortunate assumption that the 6 would work as well.
Is this something that could be added with a firmware update or will this phone never work with AT&T LTE?

That phone is compatible with AT&T so something odd going on there. Re-insert the sim? Different slot? A restart? You can check the system info, confirm it's WW. The region aspect (A,B, oe C) is confusing even though I know the ZenFone series well. What I can say is that North American variants make use of this style of identification: ZS630KL-S855-6G128G-BK. I suppose you could input your serial into the ASUS North American warranty checker and see if it gives you some type of information, like region. It's hard to imagine ASUS messing up their inventory but anything is possible.

I do not see a warranty checker. Do you know the URL?
I did look through the tech specs and found what LTE bands each version supports:
A version FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28), TD-LTE (Bands 38, 40, 41)
B version FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 18, 19, 26, 28), TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 41, 46)
C version FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 26, 28), TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 41, 46)
Per the phonearena.com site, AT&T's primary band is 12/17 with 2, 4 & 5 used in some areas where they don't have 12/17. It looks like version C is necessary to support AT&T LTE.
I spent some time chatting with ASUS tech support about this and trying to determine what version this phone is. I was told that phones purchased in North America are version A. I guess this means no AT&T LTE here!
With respect to ASUS support? They barely know what they are talking about. B&H has a bands check and AT&T is supported. If any previous ZenFone models supported AT&T, then the new releases will as well. Google search "asus warranty check". That will find you the page. I'm not saying it's a solution but maybe it will say what region your phone is or if it's from a region not covered by US/North America warranty which would give you some answers. I will tell you this. Every ZenFone since ZenFone 2 works with AT&T. It's your sim or something else. The first step in dealing with ASUS? Don't believe a lot of what they tell you.
PS. I would also use that warranty check to see if your purchase date lines up with what that website/database tells you. Make a note of any differences because if the tool is wrong, be assured when you try to warranty your phone they will not believe the tool is wrong and you will need very clear proof of purchase. And? Of course a lot of times ASUS is completely wrong about warranty expiry dates.
I'm on T-Mobile, I can confirm at least band 2, 4 and 12 exist for this phone. So it should be a Version C in north American. No VoLTE for T mobile US, otherwise, everything is fine so far.
I'm wondering if we can unlock additional LTE bands in k30 Pro chinese variant for people who bought the Zoom version. I read it can be done on old devices and bands are not removed by hardware, only locked. Here you can read some examples:

Not having band 20 on vodafone or virgin makes no difference in the U.K. This was an issue years ago as Europe only used band 20, Europe also use band 1,3 and 7 so really isn't a problem anymore. Please search what bands your country uses, it will more than likely use 20 still but the others will also be available. I'm using the zoom model.

Well, if you're living in Germany band 20 is essential. Otherwise you won't have signal on the countryside.
So I'm also quite curious about unlocking different lte bands especially on the k30 pro zoom edition.

Same applies for Netherlands unfortunately. I might just go for the global Poco F2 Pro but I kinda want the Zoom edition lol.

the above link was posted 5 years ago, I'm not an expert but I tried every means possible on the OnePlus 3t, I was also told by people that knew more about it than me that it couldn't be done.
I tried on my old galaxy S4 never been successful
Looks like it's impossible on our phones - QPST sees the phone, but can't do anything with modem memory. Maybe because it's encrypted.
I don't really need band 20, but LTE-A band 7+7 or 7+3 is very needed. In Chinese 2020 models Xiaomi cuts off CA 7+7 support for some reason. My Redmi K20 holds LTE-A CA 7+7 easily.
Hi there, hoping someone can help with an answer;
I'm considering buying a Chinese market version of either the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro or Mi 10 Ultra but just wanted to make sure that I'll continue to get decent 4G coverage (and hopefully even 5G coverage) on Vodafone UK.
I realise the CN version of the phone doesn't support or have band 20 which from what I've googled so far is 800Mhz.
I have no idea how phone signal actually works, so with this missing band, will I still get full coverage from the remaining bands the phone does support; B1, B3 and B7?
Does it mean that with 75% of the bands, I'll only get 75% coverage? Do certain phone masts only broadcast in B20, meaning I'd get zero 4G signal if the masts my phone uses fall into that scenario?
I'm a complete Layman with all this stuff (as I'm sure you can probably tell from the above ) so was hoping someone could help me out before I commit to spending a load of money on a phone that wont work here in the UK.

Regarding the cellular frequencies in the 5G generation I came across this comment in the specification of the Chinese model of Oneplus 8 IN2010, does anyone have any further information that can confirm the comment:

I have never seen additional bands supported in any update for any phone, even when it was promised.
I highly recommend buying a phone for your region to begin with. It will save you a ton of headaches down the line.

Glad it isn't just me. I will be going to T-mobile store and will see if they can do something in their system to change that. More information is always appreciated.

Already did and still not getting anything. Tried even resetting the mobile data settings and messing with APN and still no 5G. I checked my T-mobile account and it shows that my device is unknown to T-mobile and it says that it's not 5G capable. I think the answer is in T-mobile's own system.

Went to T-mobile store and they told me my SIM is fine and the reason for not receiving 5G or 4G LTE was because T-mobile was unable to recognize the ROG phone 5 in their system. They gave me a phone number to their customer service and asked me to explain to them that the phone is 5G capable and hopefully they can fix this problem.

Was with t mobile chat for half n hr. No help with 5g. All they said was we working on new 5g towers in your area. But 5g was working on my rog 3.

Yes they couldn't help me as well. The tech support said the phone was not in their system as it's not a t-mobile phone and therefore not possible to get 5G. And for the record the phone is not even receiving 4G LTE. The only thing the phone is receiving is 4G.

This is nonsense why is Asus lying and selling this phone as 5g. With only 4g working this phone is worth only maybe 400 dollars not 1000 dollars plus. Really mad, planning on returning this phone back. Any suggestions guys what latest phone is good apart from Samsung with good speakers and battery life?

Either we wait for Asus official US release maybe they will push an update to fix this or if you have to return it I say go with One plus 9 pro as it seems the most compatible with T-mobile plus it's sold by T-mobile themselves.
There is a reason that so many of the sellers tell you to check the bands before purchasing the device for a specific carrier. It should also be noted that you cannot change the bands with a software update.

I appreciate your help. The biggest question I have is how to tell which version of the phone you have. Mine at the time of purchase was listed as I005DA. I think Asus's biggest mistake was not releasing the phone in the US to begin with.

No it will not as far as I'm aware. But updating it is extremely easy. Just download the WW updates from Asus website and put it in your phone and restart the device and you should get a notification saying your phone has an update press on update and wait for it to finish. Your phone doesn't need to be rooted or anything at all.
I ended up returning it guys, not getting 5g is highly unacceptable in today's world. I got a Sony 1 ii for now it's quite good and gets 5g. Will get the Sony 1 iii in few months once it comes out.

There will be US version with proper US bands support somewhere in May or June according to press release. For now you have to wait for announcement

Excuse the rant for a minute, but there are a whole bunch of eBay and other sellers out there passing off their reflash devices as new, which makes it really hard for anyone to know what they bought because you get a Tencent device with a WW ROM and a manual in Chinese with the global apps.
The easiest way to know which device you have is to look in the box where the case and SIM pin were located. There should be a wax paper sheet with two black stickers on it. That will give you the exact model number.
If you got anything higher than 12GB RAM, it's Chinese. The European 16GB release isn't until the end of May and the Pro / Ultimate will come after that. The US was estimated for Q2, but it will also be the 12GB in the first release. If you got one claiming to be US, it's probably European (or Chinese).
