cannot allow location to sites in chrom - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all, whenever I go to a site in chrome and a site I would like to give my location too asks, the block/allow message pops up, but it does nothing when I press allow or block. I have to press the back button to get out.
I am rooted on 10.3.2.GM21AA
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome with titanium backup and reinstalling the update through fastboot on a completely clean install with no data kept.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I have a OP6 and we do have this bug too

Phone Freezing and Won't Start Properly

Hi all,
I recently tried changing the wallpaper on my phone from a live background to regular image. The background went black and the phone froze.
I removed the battery and restarted the phone but it now often freezes on the LG logo. When it does occasionally start up the touch screen will not respond so I cannot get past my lock pattern. If I press the stand by button at the top of the phone, the screen goes off and cannot be turned on again, but the phone is still running - as I can tell this when connected to the computer.
I don't have my phone rooted and do not know much about that. I was hoping there was a way to fix this without having to lose all of my data or root/mod my phone. Otherwise I would be happy just to have my phone working.
Can anyone please help with this problem or tell me why the touch screen will not respond the times it does start up?
Cheers
UPDATE - I started the phone holding the volume button down and went into the recovery mode. I'm not sure exactly which option I then selected, as I hit the home key a couple of times, but I think it was "Clear cache and recovery" or something similar.
The phone managed to start back up with all my apps and photos, etc. Although I had to go through the startup wizard again and sign into the Market, LG World, etc.
Now I have a problem with quite a few of my apps. Whenever I click on them, they start very briefly and then I get the message "The application had stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and have to force close. This happens with apps such as Adobe Reader, GTA 3 and Viber, so it's not a specific type of app.
I also noticed with the few apps that work, data is missing from some and not others. For example, I still have high scores in one game, but not in another.
Does anyone know what the problem is here or why this recovery is maybe causing this?
Thanks very much
Still haven't fixed this problem if anyone could please help. Most of the apps before the recovery still force close upon starting.
Some of these can be fixed temporarily by moving to phone/SD depending on location, but this only lasts for so long, before I have to move again. Others will open up each time as though it's the first opening of the app, e.g. Do you accept....
Apps downloaded after the recovery seem to work fine.
Any suggestions people?

[Q] What should I freeze for this problem?

I suppose I should add "if anything" to the question ...
I have a Galaxy Stellar, rooted, using Titanium Backup.
Problem is:
When I slide the pulldown menu to get access to the status bar, the help tip box pops up to explain how I can tap a button to turn a function on or off. If the "Do not show again" box is marked and I hit the OK button, there is about a 5-10 second pause and a box comes up that says "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped", after which it will go back out to the home screen and another 5-10 second pause later it all seems to go back to normal. However, if I leave the box unmarked and hit the OK button, there is no problem, except that I have to hit the OK button every time I pull the status bar down.
Is there an app and/or function that I can freeze to prevent the help tips from popping up at all? I have already frozen (and defrosted) the Help app.
you can either do a clean install, OR using root explorer (or another app that does the job), navigate to /data/data/com.android.systemui/shared_prefs and delete the file there (there should only be one file in that folder)
then just reboot and it should be fine

Thanks for the reply ... found the folder okay, but there were no files in it, just an empty Lib folder.
Looks like I'll have to flash back to the out of the box ROM because even the factory reset didn't fix the problem ... although it's still in the warranty period so I might bring it back to stock and return it.

[Q] Phone restart causes home screen to uninstall

For some reason, when i shut off my phone lately, and restart it, it starts up fine but when i unlock it, it brings up a black screen. Luckily i have titanium backup so i just pull up Google from the bottom and open titanium that way but anyway when i open it up and find the home screen, it shows as uninstalled, of course though i just re install from a backup (Thank god i have one) and then its fine. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if there's something that might be causing this because i don't like having to re install the home screen every time i restart my phone.

I had the exact same issue with quick settings and missing home and recent buttons after flashing the update. Found a full wipe and install solved it.

Worked by first wiping the internal, data, and more stuff except the external SD card, after I flashed it again it worked.
Still looking how to fix the driver issue so I can sideload trough TWRP
had same issue today...
if you have your Shield tablet rooted you can run as root in terminal emulator this:
Code:
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity

I have stock Nvidia Shield Tablet with Nougat installed. I had no problems up till yesterday, where I used the Console Mode in the hotel room to attach the tablet to the screen. This morning I wanted to skype and couldn't use the back button, because it did not appear. I checked if I was in full screen mode (which I was) and I unchecked that. But now I only have the back button and permanently on screen, and the Home and Recent Apps is still missing. When I switch back and forward between the center and edge position of the navigation buttons they briefly appear and then dissapear again. I have not found any settings to fix this. I really want to avoid a hard reset as I am on a business trip with limited wifi and re-installing and downloading everything is not an option right now.
I do hope there is a simpler fix.
I had this happen already twice on my tablet. I did a factory reset once but it happened again. I'm on the latest update not rooted stock.
Nougat..

Toasted Moto X Play (Where to go from here?)

Hi, I have a toasted moto x play which I believe moto is responsible for, (bought on Amazon) but I'm doing volunteer work in Africa. I'm wondering if I can somehow salvage my phone with an Android upgrade or a custom rom (never done that). Ok here's what happened: My phone gave me a message that it was running very low on memory. I was super busy at the time and had to ignore it. When I rebooted the phone it came up with a black screen. However after rebooting about 3 times finally it came back. I cleared some storage removing pictures and Vids etc. However strangely the settings Icon had disappeared from the notifications bar. I then noticed that the home button and the multitask button did not work. I can get to settings from the settings app. But I can only run one app at a time and then back out of it as only the back button works. I was able to copy some stuff to Dropbox and back up my SMS messages before trying a factory reset. But then I found the factory reset button is greyed out! Google told me that some people have had this and solved it by removing their account. Bad advice. I removed my account and now cannot add it back. At least before this I could still access my mail, Google drive etc. I tried the factory reset by pressing the volume and power keys, and scrolling to recover mode. I get a message: Command not found.
Is my phone 'bricked'? It was running Android 6. I understand that 7 should be available soon. Is there any hope of manually installing such an update?
