For some reason, when i shut off my phone lately, and restart it, it starts up fine but when i unlock it, it brings up a black screen. Luckily i have titanium backup so i just pull up Google from the bottom and open titanium that way but anyway when i open it up and find the home screen, it shows as uninstalled, of course though i just re install from a backup (Thank god i have one) and then its fine. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if there's something that might be causing this because i don't like having to re install the home screen every time i restart my phone.

Can someone advise me with a problem I'm currently having on my HTC Touch Cruise running WM6.0? I recently tried to uninstall a program (TomTom, which came installed on the device) but the "Remove Programs" application became locked in what seemed to be an endless loop. The progress wheel kept turning around and around without stopping. I figured out a way to use the rest of my programs but the Remove Programs application continued to run without getting anywhere. After about half an hour of this I reset the device using the recessed reset button. The device began to reboot, but got stuck on the green "Windows Mobile" screen during the reboot, and hasn't gotten any further. I've tried further resets, removing and reinstalling the battery, etc. but the device will not reboot beyond that green screen. Can anyone think of a way I can get my device up and running again without having to wipe the system? (I have some data in device memory that I don't want to lose.)
Try a hard-reset!!
Frepke
I don't want to do a hard reset because I don't want to lose my data and programs.
I have a T-Mobile HTC HD2. I do NOT want to update it or do anything that requires a factory reset. Whenever my Sense application freezes (quite often, and usually when I open a new text), I am unable to access the Settings menu to turn off or restart Sense in the Today Screen settings, because I cannot GET to the Today settings. It simply does nothing when I tap "Settings" in the start menu. If I have to restart the phone, it takes approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds to turn back on, which is unacceptable. I want to know how to restart a frozen Sense without restarting the Device (in a minute or less). I have tried ReSense and it does not work. I have also tried looking for the Today settings application in the File Explorer, with no success there either.
Try to use CleanRAM, and select level 3. Hope this helps, Google will be your friend.
Thanks! That worked to restart Sense and speed up my phone as well.
Hi guys,
I will let my experience here...
I had a very specific kind of freeze tha happened about 3 months since the last hard reset.
This freeze occurs this way:
- Someday (i don't know how and neither why...) when my phone restarts after about 2 to 5 minutes it freeze if still on any sense screen... and nothing works, except for push windows button that make it goes to start screen... On windows screen if I wait more than a minute to do something it freezes again and I need to push windows button again, then I can go to my folders and run any program...
- sometimes it just freezes if I push lock\end button and when I try to slide the unlocker it freezes and the only thing that works again is the start button.
- If I restart my HD2 without the memory card inside I never get any freezing at all...
- The solution: I deleted (on storage card) the "HTC" folder (in the "application data" folder and every file called "device" or "album" or "thumbnail" on storage card. On restart the phone create new files and foders like that, but the freezes disapears !!!
Hi all,
I recently tried changing the wallpaper on my phone from a live background to regular image. The background went black and the phone froze.
I removed the battery and restarted the phone but it now often freezes on the LG logo. When it does occasionally start up the touch screen will not respond so I cannot get past my lock pattern. If I press the stand by button at the top of the phone, the screen goes off and cannot be turned on again, but the phone is still running - as I can tell this when connected to the computer.
I don't have my phone rooted and do not know much about that. I was hoping there was a way to fix this without having to lose all of my data or root/mod my phone. Otherwise I would be happy just to have my phone working.
Can anyone please help with this problem or tell me why the touch screen will not respond the times it does start up?
Cheers
UPDATE - I started the phone holding the volume button down and went into the recovery mode. I'm not sure exactly which option I then selected, as I hit the home key a couple of times, but I think it was "Clear cache and recovery" or something similar.
The phone managed to start back up with all my apps and photos, etc. Although I had to go through the startup wizard again and sign into the Market, LG World, etc.
Now I have a problem with quite a few of my apps. Whenever I click on them, they start very briefly and then I get the message "The application had stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and have to force close. This happens with apps such as Adobe Reader, GTA 3 and Viber, so it's not a specific type of app.
I also noticed with the few apps that work, data is missing from some and not others. For example, I still have high scores in one game, but not in another.
Does anyone know what the problem is here or why this recovery is maybe causing this?
Thanks very much
Still haven't fixed this problem if anyone could please help. Most of the apps before the recovery still force close upon starting.
Some of these can be fixed temporarily by moving to phone/SD depending on location, but this only lasts for so long, before I have to move again. Others will open up each time as though it's the first opening of the app, e.g. Do you accept....
Apps downloaded after the recovery seem to work fine.
Any suggestions people?
Ok so i was using my Android Pantech Flex and the only reason i rooted it was to get rid of the soft keys and completly use my fullscreen, so i found this application called "Full!screen+" and also i downloaded this app called "LMT" which lets you use pie, i think its called like that to be able to just do gestures to go to home and back buttons etc. Unfortunately the Full!screen+ app got rid of the soft keys and status bar but it was no problem because i had the LMT application installed as well. The whole BIG PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I looked up a video on youtube to just remove the soft keys and be able to enable the status bar and what happened was that i got this app called ES FILE EXPLORER and went to "/system/build.prop" and at the very bottom i had to type this code "qcmu.hw.mainkeys=1" and i saved it, then i rebooted my phone. Then After the Reboot, My phone was showing this message every second saying"systemui has stopped working, i Looked it up in here and i saw a thread were it said to factory reset the phone to fix it and i did but everything got deleted no more root apps were installed But The FULL!SCREEN+ App was still activated but no longer installed? and thats when my soft keys dissapear and i still kept on getting the systemui. has stopped working, so now i cant navigate my phone to go back or press home button to go back unless i keep on rebooting. Even a font that i had installed still is actvated aswell. But Please Help ME! This has stressed me out because i just got my phone like 2 weeks ago and now i want to completly remove the root and keep it on stock rom Like a regular phone before it was rooted please Help Me i want my regular phone to be back to normal

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone else has had a BSOD?
Brand new out the box, my Z5 connected and Google instantly downloaded my apps and contacts associated with my account from previous phone (Sammy Galaxy S4). This was OK, but it took a while and was about 70 apps. I rebooted after it was all done, of course, but occasionally I get this damn Black screen where everything is unresponsive (can't upload screenshot yet)
The only way to wake the phone up from this dark coma is to either reboot or switch user to guest then switch back again. Nothing else seems to work. Its probably one little app incompatibility but don't know how I'm going to find it except uninstalling 1 app at a time and testing the phone to see if it reoccurs. Could take ages to figure out.
Anyone suffering from this?
YES
Finally! Someone who seemingly has the same issue as I do!
It seems to happen most often when I hit the home button from snapchat, or some other camera app, but not always. Other details about my issue:
Screen goes black, but is clearly on. Status bar can still be dragged down, notifications can be pressed but do not respond. They can be dismissed.
Home screen, back, and recent apps buttons still respond, but do not do anything EXCEPT once in a while I can get it to go to just my background... no apps, icons, or anything else. At this point, the recent apps button disappears.
Prior to getting the black screen, my phone will not lock. It will turn off the screen when I press the power button, but when I press it again it is already unlocked.
Not sure what's up, or what I can do! Rebooting the phone helps for a little while, but I get it usually once or twice a day. It seems like it happens more on weekends, but that could just be confirmation bias since I used it more.
:crying:
Hmmm...
for me it doesn't seem to be triggered by anything - it just happens. (I don't have snapchat installed)
I've uploaded the screenshot as my profile image, so you can see the back triangle is the only thing that is not blacked out, that and the very top (battery/clock,signal, etc). If I tap the screen bottom right where the square is instead of seeing a list of recent apps the screen will flicker as if the list is scrolling up the screen but it all stays dark. I'm thinking of factory reset then reinstall everything. A PIA but as I have unlimited data it's no biggy.
Thanks for replying, Vargasm, and good luck with solving it. If you find anything out post back!
I have the same issue on my Z5 premium. There is no solution except reboot it. T^T
i have the same problem here. Phone is only a week old and totally stock. Have heard it may be due to a screen protector if you use one. I am loathe to remove mine though.
