Hello, everybody.
In this thread, i have already made a poll about
Unfortionally, People seem to like phones with less features but slimmer design, which also sacrificed some battery runtime. The best example is the 2mm Headphone Jack of the coming iPhone 7 and the 6s Battery with ridicolous 1715 mAh. And the number of features, which has decreased in the Galaxy S Phones and Notes. Not to forget, the Ugly Logo of 2015: [Link1] [Link2].
Here is another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/thickness-phone-to-batter-battery-life-t3133035 (Great thanks @holsma)
In my opinion, a slim Design, with material, which feels valueable is not that important.
The Glass Back of the S6 and Note 5 is Gorilla Glass 4. That's a robust glass, but the Fake-Leather of the SGN3 and SGN4, and the S5's back cover had a much lower vulnerability. Glass is transparent, so it is for displays, and NOT for Back-Sides. Even our great Gorilla glass FOUR has got a higher vulnerability than the fake-leather, which is also replaceable.
Flexibility and Battery Capacity should not be sacrificed for a thin design with „valueable“ materials with higher vulnerability.
World's cutest phone (considered as iPhone 6s) will not be useful, if your battery runs dead, or of it drops on it's face without having a case or a protective metal frame as known from the Note 3 and the S5, which avoid the display to be exposed. The iPhones (especially 4, 4s, 6, 6s, 6+, 6s+) and the S3 have very exposed displays. The Note 3 and the S5 have this superior metal frame, which goes around the screen.
I don't know, why so many people considered the S5's design with the pattern as ugly. It looks a bit like a 2012 Nexus 7. That's not ugly at all. That's robust. On a Glass, you see all fingerprints, and the chance, that it will fall out of your hand is higher, because fake leather and S5-Pattern has a better Grip.
If the Note 5 falls out of your hand, it will most likely take visible damage, whereas the Note 4 does not. @bbbobbbo.
Unfortinally, there was no Note 5-E. @hella356 @bbbobbbo
I considered upgrading my Note 3 to a phone with OIS-Camera, but the Note 4 does still suffer from some minor disadvantages.
Does still record Slow Motion at [email protected], and the old way.
Burstshot limited to 30 shots in row.
No RAW-Shooting or manual camera settings
Even in Android 4.4.4, it's got the Lollipop-Taskswitcher, where the user is unable to access the App-Infos.
Homescreen is limited to seven pages (Same Limit as Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300)
Less camera features than S5 and K Zoom
No AirView with Finger
No Temperature sensor
No Humidity Sensor
Well, USB 3.0 wasn't that important
Battery: only +20 mAh
No force-touch (that's not important, because there is an S-Pen anyway, but iPhone-users with 1715 mAh can show off.)
Setting Menu: Black text on White background. The Note 3 had a black background, and the S5 dark blue (before Lollipop Upgrade), which saves a lot of battery power on AMOLED-Displays.
No icons in the context menus
No Instant-Camera-Shortcut
Has still f2.2. (f1.9 is better for low light videos)
No HDR-Selfies (but the Selfie-Camera is not important anyway, so i don't really care)
OIS not as good as on S6 and Note 5
Unable to display EXIF-Information and Histogram
But there are also many things, that i love about the Note Four.
I will upgrade to the Note 4, if the Note 6 is another CrapPhone and all hope for Samsung is gone.
Here, you can talk about that, and share your opinion.
Please also consider to vote on the poll.
I'm considering U11 as my next phone. I checked some reviews but it is not very clear. I do not like edge screens or curved screens, is the front screen of this phone completely flat?
The phone isn't flat like the Essential Phone if that's what you're asking. It's similar to the iPhone in that it curves. Most phones nowadays are curved like that.

Thank you for the reply. So U11 has curved screens too... hmm. You may call me picky, but the reason I do not like curved screens is that sometimes curved edges reflect lights, and it is a little annoying. Also it is hard to have a protective film on it. Well..
Just as a clarification: the screen itself isn't curved but the front glass is. This will still be an issue for screen protectors though

That's what I'm wofried about. It is hard to have a screen protector on when the edges are curved. I'm still considering this phone but I will have to take this into account.

I am currently using a mid range phone that has a flat front but I am thinking about upgrading to a flagship, due to the fact that all mid range devices have poor camera performance, including mine.
I want to get a phone that has
1) top tier camera performance (especially low light)
2) non-curved front
3) FRONT fingerprint scanner + physical buttons
4) MicroSD
5) min. 64gb storage.
Sadly, there seems to be no such a phone as of now.
Samsung doesn't satisfy 2&3, LG = 3, Sony = 3, Pixel 2 = 3&4, etc. I must give up at least one thing. I will never give up 1/3/4/5, so u11 is still on my list.
With these factors in mind I am also cosndering Asus Zenfone 4 Pro, but there are not many reviews yet, so camera performance unknown. I'm still more interested in U11 but I might go for Asus if it takes good enough photos comparable to Galaxy/U11/Pixel.

I thought Xiaomi camera performance is okay but not comparable to other flagships yet. Is it different this time?

I have an IQ Shield plastic screen protector on mine with no issues. They offer free lifetime replacements as well. I have no issues with the sides of the phone. My only issue is the top corners which began to lift, but that's because I put my case back on too early (I have children...leaving my phone without a case for the solution to dry is not an option).

Thank you for the comment, your comments are very assuring!
Mate 10.
But though the glass on the U11 is curved, the screen itself is flat
Hi guys,
I've recently purchased the Pocophone F1 by Xiaomi. I've noticed that on maximum brightness, there is a little bit of screen bleeding from the bottom of the device, its not easily noticeable unless you know you are looking for a screen bleeding issue.
My query is that, will this affect the performance of the device? Is it a problem that may be fatal to the lifespan of the mobile phone?
refund or replacement is not an option for me
Thank You
So I have Redmi note 9 (Merlin) and the gaming experience was not so good tbh. Too many lags so I decided to install a custom ROM and now the Performance is very much improved but there's a new problem I am a claw player and Sometime the Aim and the joystick gets stuck or move on it's own and I figured out that it was because my skin sometimes touch the bottom right corner of the screen that's why the aim is moving on its own. It's a water drop display with very aggressive screen to body ratio that's why the problem is happening to me. So is there anyway I can get a touch resistance area feature like in miui any app or magisk module?
I appreciate any help.
