Need Touch Screen Corner Resistance Feature like miui - General Questions and Answers

So I have Redmi note 9 (Merlin) and the gaming experience was not so good tbh. Too many lags so I decided to install a custom ROM and now the Performance is very much improved but there's a new problem I am a claw player and Sometime the Aim and the joystick gets stuck or move on it's own and I figured out that it was because my skin sometimes touch the bottom right corner of the screen that's why the aim is moving on its own. It's a water drop display with very aggressive screen to body ratio that's why the problem is happening to me. So is there anyway I can get a touch resistance area feature like in miui any app or magisk module?
I appreciate any help.

my thoughts on the poco f1(OP3 user)

My thoughts on the poco f1
I sold my OP 3 for 9k and bought a poco f1 for 16k after offers. Huge upgrade for just 7k.
My opinion on the poco f1:
Cons :
Having to get rid of bloat feels pretty ****ty. It makes the phone feel much less premium than it already is.
The display is good at best. I miss the blacks from my 3.
The radius of the corners is way too high.
The notch is pretty big and prevents NOTIFICATIONS from popping up in the NOTIFICATION BAR...
Multi touch problems with the screen. You can tell that they really compromised here.
Aggressive memory management on miui 9.6
The phone's kinda heavy. Hurts more when it inevitably falls on your face. Especially with a Spigen case.
The theme store's categories and titles are plain hilarious.
Pros:
Cheap af
Durable af
Face unlock is ridiculously good. Ive not seen my lockscreen for days(you can disable this though)
Games are pretty damn smooth
Loud ass speaker.
Great camera with GCAM 6.1
Miui 10 brings loads of improvements and fixes and the developers are actively listening to the community.
Display gets really dim at night. Way better than the op3. I think it does 2.5 nits?
The battery is ****ing amazing. 2 hrs of pubg, a bunch of YouTube, email, Reddit, slides, with Auto brightness, the GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and mbile data on both Sims on,. I ended up with 12 hrs of SOT. Huge improvement from the 5 I used to get on the OP3
Display with HDR on is pretty impressive.
Plenty or third party Dev support to help every Dev out with his life.
Some MIUI features are great. Lots of settings to scroll through

i see people speaking about multi touch issues but i have this phone for around 2 months and i've never felt an issue. please tell me what is ur issue with multi touch?
People throw away much more than $300 every month. Not sure what they complaining about with this phone. it's good if you are happy with it period.

Try playing pubg with it. If you're moving with the least side and aiming with the right. The screen spazzes out.

actually i play pubg alot recently, never had this issue. now i'm trying the claw (playing with 4 fingers) and i suck at it but touch accuracy is top. try a multi touch app from the play store and check with it if it doesn't track your fingers correctly as it might be a problem with ur unit.

Yup poco has hdr lcd, you can search for youtube hdr videos, you'll only get hdr options in quality settings if your device has hdr screen. I don't see much difference though tbh.

Poco f1 can reach 480 nits peak brightness and it can play 1080p HDR videos (auto brightness) and to an extent it does the job but don't compare it with true oled based HDR displays which have more than 1000 nits of brightness and more vivid colors
Those complaining about the multi touch issue is when then press q,p and Back button at the very corner. I didn't play PUBG so I am good. Mobile Legends doesn't cause problem for me

Pocophone is too sensitive for PUBG? My first chicken dinner ever...

If you bought pocophone with the hope to be dominating in PUBG because of the strong hardware. Then you find yourself being dominated instead.
If yes-->we are on the same boat.
I have just figured out that with 8.12.7 (current ROM on my phone),the in-game camera is too sensitive and almost unplayable. I am playing TPP,after reducing camera sensitivity from 100 to 50.Also, increase the ADS sensitivity around 10 to 15 increment for each. For the first time the game is playable for me.
Please try and let me know if that solves your matter as well.
it's working fine and I've been using poco since launch!!

Nah.. Ever since 8.11.29 there has been a lot of unexplainable multi touch/ghost touches especially when you're playing MOBAs or any games that require a lot of tapping. Sure the keyboard lag/ touch delay on the edges is fixed but after 8.11.29 mistouches/multi touches/ghost touches/and sometimes touches ARE NOT REGISTERING and some people are also having screen flickers and screen freezes until they lock and unlock the screen back for temporary fix.
I'm a Poco fan and I try my best not being bias and stating the truth
8.11.15=very noticeable delay on the edges of the screen/touch delay/keyboard lag and less multi touches error
8.11.23=touch delay on screen edges fixed but getting touches not registering on the navigation bar and the middle screen and screen freezes until you reset the screen
8.11.29=touches not registering is getting worse also a new problem which is screen flickers and the screen freezes is getting out of a hand
screen flickering is fixed on 8.12.6 ...just waiting for EU ROM to try it...
but i haven't noticed the ghost touches or delays while playing pubg!!!

I'm on 8.12.7 and screen flickering is still not fixed.
Play touch tapping intensive games like MOBAs or drums and you'll notice that touch unresponsiveness or maybe screen freezes
Maybe my device is different from yours but I've never been able to reproduce these issues on my f1.
And fwiw I'm getting my fair share of chicken dinners on PUBG
No touch issues here and I got 4 chicken dinners yesterday

3 games of PUBG today - ???
Prize every time, and I really don't think I'm particularly good at FPS games
It helps with the camera turning bonkers but the screen does freeze at times but I believe that is only when the phone heats up (I'm running extreme fps settings on pubg). Thanks!
i am also having same issue.my pubg game is too much sensitive.i lowered the sensitivity settings but it doesn't help and i am not playing pubg due to this issue.i also sent bug report.
i used to play on redmi note 5 pro earlier , pubg was working fine .?

I am on lastest open beta and is working fine, no problems at all, and I play it every day.
The latest beta firmware fixes touch on pocophones with novatek displays. Even otherwise I was able to get a lot of kills just by tweaking the sensitivity in pubg settings. My KD ratio in squad is 6.15 rank ace and I have seen people with costlier phones not able to match my stats.
I have used almost every stable and beta MIUI roms since launch and I am facing no problem here.. I even set the sensitivity on 'high' for faster movement. Still maintaining 7+ K/D Ace tier in both TPP and FPP. All i need is a better internet service.

Is 240hz touch of Poco X3 worth it vs 120hz touch offer by others?

I'm going for an upgrade.
Need help here guys. I am one of those who's suffering on their previous Poco F1 issues, ghost touch and hang just a couple of times this past years.
My main issue is the "touch reponse" always has the "DELAY" mix with screen freeze mostly triggered while gaming.
To those who already own it there:
• I'm just asking if their 240hz touch is TRUE and PRECISE, or too good to be true?
• Does it beats the other brands offering 90hz ref. rate / 120hz touch, 60hz ref. rate / 120hz touch in terms of gaming or not?
'Coz the phone price for the specs like the Poco F1 offers more bang in the buck rather than it's competitors, again I'm worried if the CUTS is on it's "touch reponse and screen issues again." Just don't want to lose money again on something not.
If not I'll just try other brand out there.
To answer both if your questions, it's yes to both.
I came from a Samsung Galaxy A71 which I paid WAY more for what it was worth and you get everything it says on the box.
120Hz is fluid and buttery smooth and touch response is lightning fast and precise, yes even in games.
Just be sure to download Arrow OS and use that because MIUI is filled to the brim with crap that will make your device very slightly sluggish.
I'd say each to their own. Go to a shop (if their open where you are) and try for yourself. If not then find one online with a good returns policy. Just as a side note my GF has an A71 and it is a way better phone overall. IMHO 60Hz Amoled beats this cheap 120Hz LCD (grey is my new black now lol). It's painful to look at, especially in low light environment. 240Hz touch responsiveness is just a number to me. Can't tell the difference. Then again it's a personal preference and I admit that I got this phone thanks to high numbers on the spec sheet for a low price.
Fellow Poco F1 user here.
Although the entire internet was plagued with problems with the F1, I however faced none of those. It does not mean your issues are invalid, but I'm just saying the group mentality made people believe their phone had issues that it never had. Things like Light Bleed and stuff were blown so much out of proportion that people actually recreated scenarios that they would never face normally just to make them feel bad about themselves. My Poco F1 is still an amazing phone and it also takes some of the best pictures with the right mods.
Back to the point, I see way too many AMOLED fan boys always claiming AMOLED is better even though they don't want to accept the draw backs or technical limitations. They see a phone selling AMOLED and immediately think it's better.
And back to the main main point...
240hz is hardly differential from nearer touch response rates and not even the most stock, unless the stock is absolutely garbage. On a phone, touch response hardly matters because there isn't enough IPC to make that response any worth it.
Summary :
Is Poco X3 truly responding to touch at 240HZ?
YES.
Will you notice the difference from a decent refresh rate from a modern phone and this phone which is so proud of its 240hz
NO
Enjoy your phone and don't fall into these technicalities. You're only putting your mind into this anxiety mode whether the purchase you made was worth it or not. This is a great phone and I love it and I've come from 1+, Samsung, Moto (Google owned Moto), Nexus and even Pixels.
Even when using an iOS device side by side, I can definitely feel there's a difference, it is certainly better.
But I'll talk about 2 issues first.
1. But sometimes, the touch doesn't work (like it needs grounding), like when my phone is lying flat on a certain bedsheet, I can't casually swipe, I need to hold it in my hand.
2. And long swipes need some polishing (software side) to be more natural, e.g. when u swipe up from launcher to open app drawer, u need to move ur thumb straight up, instead of slight natural diagonal movement else it may just swipe to next home screen or vice versa: opening app drawer instead of swiping to next screen. I come from color os, and it is certainly tuned to be more natural. (less feature rich than MIUI but better polished than other iOS inspired OEM skins)
Now pros:.
Touch responsiveness is way better than most android phones (I have used upto Samsung S10+ ceramic edition, oppo reno 3 pro) and iphone 8, X, XS series (before Apple fans flame, I'm talking just about responsiveness and accuracy).
You definitely feel it with gaming, no sensitivity settings is wrong (no aiming stutter or slip) infact it'll register the slightest movement and adjust your aim accordingly. Sometimes when my hands get sweaty I turn down the touch sensitivity in game space to 70 percent.

Hey, just wanted to know a few things, animations and transitions are jittery for some apps in MIUI, since you suggested arrow OS, does that get rid of these jitter and animation lags? Or is it a bad chip (which i doubt)
Moreover, does Arrow OS use MI Camera? Since it has option to use all sensors, do we get that in arrow? How is overall smoothness and camera quality?

If you want jitter free experience, use ArrowOS + F1xy kernel.
F1xy custom kernel is focused to bring lower latency and reduce jitter as much as possible.
And no, ArrowOS doesn't use ANX Camera (Miui Camera). You need to flash it yourself.
crDroid comes with it if you want it.
I guess if you're here and changing from China spying crap rom and unlocking bl and bypassing ARP, no..
You will probably not find a better working drvier/setup for that if you install unofficial roms. Meaning you can expect lower performance on these pieces of hw. For the cpu, some unofficial roms can have better performance (not sure about camera and screen drivers, dependents if manufacturer releases src code).

That's a lie if I ever saw one, I have ArrowOS with it's stock kernel (using MIUI's kernel sources) and everything works better than stock rom. Not to mention devs can implement driver updates for Qualcomm/Adreno chipset (AKA CAF versions) which improve performance much better than Stock ROM (manufactures usually take months to implement new drivers, if they ever do).

Just to add that it's also dependable to skill of developers. We are covered here since we have so many talented developers, so you can except great ROM performance + battery life. Custom ROM experience is also dependable on quality of sources and Xiaomi is not the best in this regard compared to Google, but it gets the job done. Also good developers modify sources in a good way, which leds to improvement in source code.
All in all, good developer for the device can make custom ROM which performs much better than stock ROM. Especially MIUI.

Pixel 4a usability question

I am planning to buy a Google Pixel 4a. This front camera embedded in the screen looks great, but after a while I got confused and I thought how does this left top corner behave in full screen apps? How problematic is that we cannot click in this part of screen?

Use phones with pop-up camera, they provide an infinite display. Like OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7 Pro, ...
No issues with that yet. The screen scrolls/behaves flawlessly around the the hole punch. With the Energy Ring app, it even looks kinda sharp as a battery level indicator with a 1px width. I then used system to get rid of the stock battery indicator that can barely see anyway.
Software doesn't get to draw "behind" the camera unless it is cutout-aware. Most full screen things just don't use the top part of the screen.
The hole punch front camera is not obtrusive at all for me. I never tap up in that corner, and there are only a few videos that might have a small cut-out in it due to the aspect ratio they film in. Most times I don't even really nice it.
Doesn't bother me. Usually stays up in the notification bar and icons reflow around it. No big deal
