Your PC still needs a way to communicate with your phone, so don't uninstall them, otherwise your computer will just have to reinstall then

Have you used lucky patcher on Whatsapp? I would wipe Play Store Cache and the dalvik cache. If you've used lucky patcher on whatsapp you should revert any patches you may have applied.

Then don't worry about the lucky patcher thing, are you rooted and do you have a custom recovery?

The other option I would recommend would be to root and flash a custom recovery, then flashing the dalvik cache. If that doesn't work then installing a custom ROM, but before that's an option I want to make sure we've used all other possible ways to fix it.

Thank you but rooting isn't on my plans because that was the reason I got a Nexus 5 vanilla Android. As well as that my bank apps will stop working.
Can't seem to find an explanation for this error.

Nope says app not installed.
Probably a factory reset would be an option???
But it is pain, reinstall and setup all again.

Hm, did you move any files to that nexus from a previous device that had Whatsapp installed? If so(or no, either way doesn't hurt to try), go into your internal storage and look for a folder named Android, then go into the folder Data. Look for the folder named com.whatsapp (or something similar) and delete the entire folder. Then try again.

There is no .WhatsApp folder.
After a Google search I found out that whatsapp does not run with Art but I changed to dalvik a few days ago so it should work.

Nexus 5 unable to authorize

My friend got a new nexus 5 and for some reason the window that usually pops up to authorize the computer does not show up. Tried different cables, debugging is enabled, tried hard reset, software is updated. My nexus connects and authorizes fine. Inability to authorize is preventing us from being able to flash custom recovery. I was able to boot device into bootloader mode and unlock it though, but no luck when it is booted. Any ideas?

Yes, you know how a window would popup asking to reject or accept when debugging is enabled? That window never comes up. So, apps like nexus root toolking or most adb commands do not work.

Sounds like you don't have the latest adb&drivers. This happened to me also. Those can undoubtedly be found somewhere on here by searching.

Not just the drivers, use a newer adb too. If that doesn't work you can clear the authorized devices on the phone and there is also a file located on your computer that I think needs to be deleted also.
My nexus was really picky on the debug 'handshake' whereas I had to remove all authorized computers/delete the file on my pc and use the newest adb and drivers - and even then I had to reboot the phone first (once everything was cleared) and use the newest adb & drivers to make it work right.

You need to re-install the universal drivers for that device as well, no matter if you installed for another previously. Happened to me with 3 nexuses 5 at home.
So do I just remove the old drivers then plug in my new n5 then let it do its magic? Or install it myself on Android sdk
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
How do I even uninstall Nexus 5 drivers?
I just went on my device manager and unisntallrd both Nexus 5 on my device manager and I still can't install any drivers on my new n5 just fails when I plug it in

Yep, uninstall. If you got google drivers or universal naked drivers, install them
It makes the regular USB sound when plugged in then immediately makes like a awkward different sound after assuming that it's not recognize man I need to do this before school tommorow
I went to device manager delted all drivers related to Nexus 5 then deleted google drive on Android sdk then reinstalled it... Rebooted computer and still not getting installed..

are you on a windows PC?
If so, on the start menu, type "Device manager", open it, look for Nexus 5 on the list of devices, right click it and choose "update driver software"
then, choose " Browse my computer/ let me pick form a list of devices drivers, choose one that says ADB, look for Google or LG, next" ... done

Thanks for the info. But i haven't tried on other version of windows. Currently im in windows 8.1 might be the cause of it but i really dont have much time to reinstall. So might try on some other day.

It's been a while since I've last messed with it, but my memory says I had issues reading an OTG-ready flash drive until I used my bacon to format the drive in the OS (not recovery). It recognized that I had a drive plugged in, but it couldn't read anything I had on it.
Bear in mind, you'll wipe everything from the drive if you do this, but it was the only way to format the drive so that my phone could read it. But again, it's been a while since I did this last.
