After only 2 months using the OnePlus 6 as a daily driver, dust came inside the camera lense. You can clearly see those particles and I tried wiping it off with a wet cloth but it remain there, so I'm definetly sure it's inside. How could this happen? I always used my op6 careful it never dropped.
I also saw another user in the op forums, he's having the same issue. (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/dust.867476/)
Anyone else? I will post some pics later.
Is your phpne A6000 or A6003? A6003 is known to have particle issue.

From what i read in this forum, A6000 is assembled in China while A6003 is assembled in India. The assembly done in India for these batch of phones were facing particle issues. Correct me if I am wrong.

It's the other way round I think.
For those who wonder: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SaUAVLTUDLW4U--BLdUd-IR8w9tttfrC/view?usp=drivesdk (it's the top camera lense)
I contacted OnePlus Support about this issue, and they will replace my device. It's quiet a shame that the Op6 is sich dust-prone.
hello, I also have this same issue after 15days of use ! oO
I never had this before with my OP1, 2 , 3 and 5T .....
It's the A6003
I buy the phone from a friend, in sealed box ....
I sent the issue to OnePlus, I hope he can make something
I already opened my old phones, but affraid to open this because of the back has glue to maintain them

yes it's a lot ......
but, by "chance" the upper camera is only the correction camera, I don't notice too many problems with pictures (for now) but I hope he will change this, the way I buy this phone was not important .... it's a construction error ....
imagine with water .... it's suposed to be waterproof .... but dust can go inside ...
Same issue on my main camera
Since 2 months i used this phone and i just noticed it last week. I dont know where to claim this issue as i bought imported set and warranty is not covered locally. ?

Yes, I've got it as well after 2 months. It's causing a black spot in my photos and OP won't repair it under warranty so I'm screwed.
So guys, I'm about to get a OP 6, can you guys confirm that the A6000 or the A6003 have this problem?

Both it seems, also it seems to be first batch of phones from what I've read so far. I'm on month 1 with my device, it came with 5.1.9 out the box, 0 dust yet. I don't use the slider above the power button, one theory was that dust get through from there.
Sucks not to nokt being able to use it tho, I was starting to like it... But since OnePlus don't think this is falling under warranty for some it just makes me not want to risk it.. P. S I always have a case on.

Just change from original case from the box to dbrand bumper case. Lets see either that dust will get through or not. As this bumper case cover every edge include that slider.

As far as I can see, there isn't one for the OP6.
Here's the dirt/dust in mine. 2 months old.....
Here's an image not blown up with it. I've tried everything to get rid of it but nothing works. I can remove with an airbrush app easily from photos but videos look horrible....

I've got some scratches on the back of my One S. Its a replacement I got from HTC last week and just two days later I managed to get two scratches on them without doing anything . I've looked at this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589364 but the only solution there is to replacement the back cover, which I'm not too keen on doing as its risky. Is there any kind of polish I can use to get rid of these scratches. Also I'm not sure but it seems the actual housing is flawed because my original handset never managed to get any scratches whatsoever but this one seems to scratch way too easily. Maybe this replacement is from the earlier handsets.
It does appear that they've given you an awful handset. I've had mine for a year, never used a case and I have one little chip around the charger port, and that is it. I'm not sure if HTC will do anything, but it's best to get in contact first.

I've found in previous experiences with the HTC support team that you have to be very, very forceful with them. If I was in your situation, the right thing to respond would be to turn the blame on them for not electrocuting it properly. Just remember that the customer is always right, they normall let up after a good fifteen to twenty minutes.

Thanks mate I'll try that but I doubt I'll be given a replacement since I've gone through 7 repairs and 3 replacement handsets. HTC customer service really does suck!
Somebody's had a tonne and a half of bad luck. I've had this one a year, and the only thing that has ever broken on it was the SD card (and that was my fault, and I repaired that myself anywhore). I suppose you'll just have to get a case and get on with it to be honest.

That sucks. From my experience your only solution is to buy a replacement housing and swap it. I can understand your reluctance though, as the phone is so new. You'll learn to live with it in time, I'm sure.

This is only the minor issue. Ever since I got my original handset replaced by HTC it seems to show these large block pixels which are most visible when I'm watching videos on Youtube. Don't know whether anyone else has had this problem.
Hello everyone,
my Photon Q fell two days ago and since nothing really happened except that the slider mechanism feels more lose than before, I wanted to ask you guys if 1) with your phone it is the same or 2) do you have an idea how to make it "tight" again?
I opened the phone but couldn't really find out what causes this gap on the left side (when the phone is closed and you are looking at the front). Even it's cosmetic (for some ) it bugs me a lot
Thanks
I've got the same issue, but I thought it could be an issue caused by a fall of the Photon Q.

I'm not experienced in hardware repair or mods, but if you can separate the two parts of the phone it looks like it has a single hinge with two rails for the slide mechanism. I don't think those would be damaged based on your pictures but there are also two pieces of metal, one on each side of the display connector. My bet would be that one of those got dented. The two pieces seem to be used as a stopping point for the slide as well as distancing/orienting the display.

At this point I do think it is beyond me and I'm a bit surprised someone more familiar with hardware hasn't stepped in yet. Might be worth a try PMing someone involved in the SIM mod.
The two metal pieces I was thinking of are on the keyboard portion of the phone. On the back of the display portion they create a mild groove the same size as the groove for the rails. One groove is left halfway up the phone and the other between that groove and the top of the phone. When the phone is together the display cable fits perfectly between them.
I'm sorry, all I can really do is speculate. I really don't know enough about this sort of thing. I may be mistaken as to what these parts are.

I think it is pretty impossible to fix a dent in the hinge, right? But would that http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTOROLA-PH...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item20d0b14dc6 fix my problems?
^ I'm pretty sure it wouldn't. My Q is suffering from the very same problem, though I got over it quite a while ago since it's kind of a 'minor' issue I actually have the same exact part sitting on my desk right now, my listing on eBay to sell it just ended haha. I could test it out for you, if you really would like to know.

Hey Guys I just got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 Orchid Grey.
It has only been a day and I love the phone but I was so disappointed to see that the phone suffers from light leak.
There is light bleeding from the bezel between the front camera as shown in this picture.
Is this normal and accepted? I saw some phones at a demo shop and the black ones didnt have this while the others did.
Do you guys have the same and if so does it affect water resistance?
Shall I keep it or exchange it and get a new one I got to pay 200$ for it.
Have attached pictures of my phone along with a reference picture of better quality.
please do let me know what you think
i had ordered my phone off amazon and noticed the light bleed. searched around and it didn't really find a clear answer to say if its a defect or just something that the phone has. i sent it back to amazon, thinking it was bad, and picked one up from best buy, they were the same price, so no big deal. opened up the new one and was met with disappointment, it looks like its a typical thing for the phones. guess its up to you if you want to just go with it or try again with another one. i did take the one from amazon to a shop to see whats up, they suggested to just return it. if they were to try and fix the gap, the water proofing would have failed. best of luck with it, seems like a good phone so far

Hey thanks for the reply.
So the one you got from best buy does it have the same problem?
Does light reflect and if so where?
This is what samsung chat told me
yes, the best buy model has the same problem in the same area. the light shows at the front facing camera and the iris scanner. i talked to a rep myself and he had suggested that i take it to a repair center.
*the person you talked to could be right, maybe it is just the lens or something.
Go for replacement. Practice the warranty thingy.

No, I don't know anyone with the same phone. The light comes directly above the front facing camera and the Iris scanner.
I do not have this issue here, so I would say its a manufacturing defect, and they are aware about it, and they actually try to make it look like its normal.

You must having it increase your brightness to max and keep a white background/wallpaper and then check.
I just went to a Samsung Service Center and first he told me that it was normal and not an issue then i insisted on showing me another phone so he showed me a device whose repairs he had just concluded with a brand new screen and that phone had the same issue! not an issue its just reflection apparently.

Hey guys could you please share your inputs here
Just noticed that my camera lens glass has fallen off, check the picture, looks like the glue has just given up!
This together with my other issue of a wonky gyroscope calibration (separate post on this!) gives me real doubts about build quality and QA.
Otherwise i love the handset, really disappointed, anyone else had this ?
What case do you have? MNML frost white?

And that scuffed top corner. Ever dropped or bumped the phone?

That device is not a Pixel 3. Do you really think Google will replace whatever device this is with that damage on the corner? You're trying to get something else because of the gyroscope issue but it seems obvious that you messed up the device by bouncing it off the floor. The glue just doesn't "give up". You basically broke the phone and if you don't have insurance then you are probably out a bunch of money.
Which device is that anyway?

That device is not a Pixel 3. Do you really think Google will replace whatever device this is with that damage on the corner? You're trying to get something else because of the gyroscope issue but it seems obvious that you messed up the device by bouncing it off the floor. The glue just doesn't "give up". You basically broke the phone and if you don't have insurance then you are probably out a bunch of money.

It's a pixel 3. You need to look again. I thought the same as you when I first saw it. The picture is deceiving. That damaged corner is the upper left corner of the back of the phone. Look at it that way and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

Hey, stuff happens. When I first looked at it, I thought it was the upper right hand corner of the back of the phone. It's an easy enough mistake to make.

And that scuffed top corner. Ever dropped or bumped the phone?

Scuffed it on a wall when someone barged passed me, wasn't a hit so much as a graze so i'd be very surprised if that was the cause.

Lol. You're still going to have a hard time getting a replacement with that ding i believe. But good luck. You think you could have thrown the gyroscope off kilter along with the camera lens? You'll know soon enough if they replace it for free.

The Gyroscope issue was reported the day after i got the phone (30 days ago) when i noticed the pictures looked wonky. The Lens issue i noticed when resetting the phone to send back for the RMA google agreed for the Gyroscope issue.
I updated the original ticket to say that the lens was now missing and it happened way after the initial issue and they now won't RMA until they've investigated the lens issue....
Fortunately when i logged the Gyroscope issue i sent across a video and pictures of the phone to demonstrate that it was in pristine condition.
You are right though they are now going to link the two in there own heads even though they had agreed to an RMA !
I've got insurance but i'm loathed to use it when the phone has the underlying gyroscope issue straight out of the box.

The insurance is the $200 deductible one? I have that too and it seems like a lot to pay for a refurb. At this point it might be your best option, unfortunately. I don't think I'd use it unless the phone got destroyed, lost or unusable but it's still a lot of money to shell out. You could tell them that the gyroscope issue caused you dizziness and then you banged the phone trying to get oriented. haha j/k naturally but good luck nonetheless. Update when this is resolved. I still have that cool program you used. Just checked and I'm at 0.1 pitch and roll average.

It *shouldn't* be the cause but it could be.
