I designed a watch face for my Fit2 Pro with GWD (most recent ver) and everything works except for one thing: the count for HR, Steps, Floors, and kCals are now stuck. They do not reset at midnight like they're supposed to, and I've tried uninstall/reinstalling the watch face, resetting the Gear, and rebuilding the package and then reinstalling. Nothing seems to reset those counters. I verified that those text fields are data-sync'd to the correct selections with '%d' as the string. Any help would be welcome.
Oh, and I also verified the Gear itself is reporting correct data by switching to a built in face with similar info and it shows correct.

I installed the latest update last night (which I had a very difficult time doing), and I kept getting the error "unable to load data, tap to retry" afterwards. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall gear manager. Now many of my watch faces won't show up on my watch any more. They show in gear manager, or when I long press on my watch, but when I select them, they only show as a black screen on my watch. Has this happened to anyone else?
Any idea how to fix this?

I excitedly updated my Gear S2 but was frustrated when the Settings would no longer show up. Plus all other apps and all other watchfaces except the ones preinstalled. I did a hard reset and opted not to restore all my previous settings. Pretty much the same.
Now I have access only to the preinstalled watchfaces including the new Special Edition Watchface. I cannot power off my watch. Instead, I have to long press the Power button to reboot in case I accidentally select an app or watchface that causes it to freeze or go blank. If I swipe down, I can see the new flight mode and use it. So with the Do Not Disturb. But the brightness and volume setting will cause it to go blank.
All preset widgets wont work. But after I delete them all, I can add Heart Rate Measure, Steps, Music Player, Workout. These widgets will work.
If I click the power button to get to the app, all apps and the settings wont work.
I have resigned to waiting for an update that will correct these. My watch is under warranty but I am in Oman and I bought it in Dubai...
I hope I can get a clean original firmware and learn how to flash it to my gear s2...
i have the same problem exact the same as what you said, i just have access to default watch faces also without power off option and some widget won't work anymore. the worse f**king problem is i have lost many watch faces from samsung gear too, witch have downloaded & purchased before.
this is very disappointing update i ever did, NEVER choose samsung ever..

David I solved the problem!
I downgraded my firmware to the original using these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/general/tutorial-downgrade-gear-s2-sport-t3334123
There is a separate firmware download link if you own a classic.
After I have successfully downgraded... it updated to the latest firmware with flight mode and Special Watch face...
I think my mistake last time I updated was that I rebooted the gear s2 when it has not yet finished installing... since it looked like it hanged.... just leave it even if it is unresponsive. It will reboot on its own after awhile...
Hope you can revive your Gear S2 as well!

Yesterday, after adding a bunch of watch faces, I went to the Samsung Gear app on the phone to reorder the faces, and suddenly couldn't reorganize them anymore. I tried rebooting the phone, force stopping the app, and clearing the cache. Still nothing.
Then, I figured, maybe clearing reinstalling the app. I tried both, and then noticed my watch automatically said, "Performing light reset". I'm not sure what the difference between light reset and factory reset is, but they seemed the same to me! All apps gone, all settings gone, watch faces gone, etc.
Luckily, I had done a backup, so I went in and restored, which was nice - it automatically reloaded all of my apps. But it didn't put them back in the order I liked, and the settings on my widgets weren't restored (contacts/apps). It didn't put the watch faces back on the watch, just on the app. Plus, although it showed the watch faces, but I couldn't put them on the watch. I'd tap them on the app, and nothing would happen. Most annoying, when I used Gear Watch Designer to put the watch faces back on the watch, they showed up twice on the phone app, and still, touching one of them, nothing would happen. I can't even delete them off!
Finally, today, I get the update (R760XXU1APK7), and nothing changed, so I decided to clear data and reinstall the phone app, and of course, the watch "light resets" again. I decided not restore data, but to manually reinstall so I don't have these duplicate/non-working faces showing on the app. That worked - but I still can't reorder any of them. Weird. Anyone else still able to move them via the phone? (or could then couldn't?)
(And yes, I can still reorder them on the watch, just not the phone)
I'm using a Gear S3 with an LG G4. I just got my watch last week and haven't really had a chance to play with it. I launched the Samsung Gear app and went to Settings and tapped on Watch Faces. Whenever I do this, I get the attached message and nothing else ever happens. If I come back later and try again, I get the same result.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Have you rebooted your phone and watch?
affirmative
Some bytes are crossed somewhere and it may take more drastic action to resolve.
If I was having this issue, the next things I'd look into would be removing and then re-associating your watch w/your phone/Gear app, and/or a factory reset of your watch.
Well... I rebooted again and it appears to be working right now. I don't know why I didn't practice the mantra of techies everywhere... When in doubt, reboot!
RESOLVED (for now) a reboot of both the phone and watch appears to have resolved the issue.
Hi
Does anyone else have issues with the auto-pause facility on S-Heath running on the watch.
I was out mountain biking last weekend, stopped for a rest, tracking paused (good), started riding again, and after another half an hour of riding noticed that the tracking had not auto-started. It seems that after an auto-pause, I have to remember to press the back button to get the damned thing to start tracking again? I will never ever remember to do this! - if it auto-pauses then it should also auto-start! The only solution would appear to be to disable auto-pause, and not stop for any rests!
So, is this normal behaviour? Also, sports wise, there are hundreds on s-health on the phone, but only a tiny subset on the watch. I can start 'cycling' on the watch, but not 'mountain biking' - the S-Health app on the phone has both. If I start the activity on the phone, then the watch does not get used at all? I would have expected the phone app to realise there was a gear S3 attached and prompt 'start activity on watch?'. Also, if I edit the sports on the phone app to just those that I actually do (which I have done), I would expect these to be synced to the watch, replacing the activities shown on the watch.
Usual deal, Samsung makes decent hardware, but can't write decent software for toffee...

Agreed. It's a recurring bug which also affects UnderArmour's apps such as MapMy Run. I'm submitting a ticket to UnderArmour today to see if they can find a solution.
This weekend I was out road cycling, used manual-pause instead. Paused it for lunch, and when I went to restart it found workout had ended. Cant guarantee that I did not accidentally press the finnish button though. Ended up with two separate workouts in s-health each one 2 hours long.

Just to update on my own issues with MapMy Run app on the S3 locking up part way through a workout. Since installing latest version 1.1.3 of MapMy Run I tested the app on a 6 hours + hike on Friday and it worked great without locking up at all. It automatically paused and resumed whenever I stopped for a rest. I will test it again this coming Friday before being overly confident, but so far so good!
So i was out on my bike today, first time with the S3, set of S health for the ride after about 45 mins I checked and the ride had stopped recording at 35 mins ... had my garmin running also so all was not lost.
I restarted s health to record the rest of the ride.
When I got home, my phone had recorded the full ride but in 3 sessions all from the s3.
I have workout detection enabled which seemed to have worked today, so is there any point in starting an exercise on the watch if workout detection will do it anyway?
Hi,
How I can manually start cycling session with autopause on Gear S3 using S-Health?
EDIT: Found it, I will test it tomorrow

Have you figured out how to log mountain biking using the watch yet? I just got the gear sport and was surprised it doesn't have a mtb option on the watch. Any suggestions?
sorry to piggyback on this one, but on my watch, when i go into SHealth, all i see is Calorie stats. However, on my phone, under the "ME" section, i have selected various routines, but none show on my watch. I uninstalled and reinstalled, reset the watch after the update, still nothing. Any suggestions?

Ridiculous that Samsung have not fix this yet 2019. But they are always hurry to put out new lines and abounded the old stuff. Her a video on this problem:

Hi,
Sometimes ago i found this face for my Galaxy watch 4 classic and it used to work pwrfectly. Today i had to reset watch and after this i am not able to instalacja this face on my watch. Ok googleplay therr is no option to swlct dwvice as watch, inside phone app there is a button to send face to watch but it does not work.
What happened that I was able to use it yesterday but today I am not even allowed to instal it?
i have had severe issues with a watchface called twelvth text watchface . As soon as i install it all stockfaces in watch stop working, and as soon as i remove it they start working. And believe me this watch face was working just fine by itself.
After 7 factory resets via watch stock recovery and by eliminating each app 1 by 1 i came to about the culprit i have learned to avoid all those apps and watchfaces which were for wear OS 2.0 they created stranger errors and watch also suffered with unusual battery drain.
My advice is
if an app is still not updated for GW4. Dont dive into world of unknown errors
