I flashed SM-G930U on my T-Mobile phone. Good news is no T-Mobile bloatware. Got WiFi calling, and almost everything works great.... Except I do not get notifications from any of my apps (score mobile, Yahoo fantasy, Gmail, etc.). I do get text message alerts. I went to my settings and nothing is turned off in the notifications section. Is there something I can do?

Hello!
I've recently bought a second hand O2 XDA Orbit 2 and am using it with my Orange SIM. Up to now I haven't had any problems as the phone is unlocked.
I've just had a voicemail message which I listened to and deleted, but I still have the notification on my phone. I've tried everything to get rid of it: rebooted, gone back into voicemail but nothing helps.
I had the standard O2 WM6.0 installed and I've just upgraded to the standard O2 WM6.1 version. The voicemail notification is still there which seems to imply Orange are still sending the notification to the phone. Does that make sense?
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
TIA
Install HushSMS and send an MWI Disable message to your own phone
Thanks for the advice. I have looked at the HushSMS application and think I know what it is doing!
Does MWI Disable just remove that one instance of the voicemail notification or will it stop all further notifications?
I've also thought I should check if the notification appears if I put the SIM in another phone. If it does then the problem is with Orange and not the phone.
I'll let you know how I get on.
I put my SIM in an old Nokia and this said I still had a voicemail, so it was Orange that was incorrectly telling me I had a voicemail. So I left another voicemail for myself and then deleted it. The notification went away.
So no problem with the phone. Lets hope it doesn't happen again!
This is a same issue in Telcel Mexico. It seems that the format of the message that is sent to delete the MWI (Message Waiting Icon) is not standard, so windows mobile does not recognize it and display it as an empty message.
I also use Hush SMS and it works fine, but remember first to listen and delete your voice mail and then delete the MWI... If you delete the MWI without deleting the VoiceMail.. it will still live in the server and next time it registers in a different phone the MWI will appear.
So far, the solution of Hush SMS has worked fine for me. Of course I also told the people close to me not to leave me a Voicemail and preferably send an SMS.

JM
T-Mobile in Virginia & Maryland, Google Maps, Gmail, Viber, all of these will not function at all on tmobile data. 2g, 3g, lte. Nothing works. But when I connect to wifi they function normal I starting receiving all my messages emails etc. I uninstalled and reverted the apps back to stock and uninstalled reinstalled viber. Still nothing on data with tmobile. I can view my gmail through the browser on the phone but not the app. Google play also does not function on tmobile. Any one else on the east coast have this happening?

So for a while now I've had issues texting my brother, he has an iPhone 5c and I of course have a Nexus 5. I have extensively troubleshot this and searched online for solutions. Some said something about a bug in the Nexus 5 hardware that causes SMS messages not to go through on LTE or WiFi or something...but this only affects my brother's number
Whenever I send an SMS on hangouts (or the old stock messages app on CM11) to my brother, he never gets them. My phone shows that it has sent but he never gets it. He does receive my MMS messages. I tried changing apps, turning on and off various connectivity (bluetooth, wifi, LTE, data, etc) and only once he was able to get a message when I shut off WiFi, but I wasn't able to reproduce it again.
I get all his messages right now, but at one point I wasn't able to get his SMS messages either.
I traded my SIM into another older phone and he received all my SMS messages. Put it back in my Nexus 5, still the same problem. I tried a full reset with CM, a full reset to stock, I even had the problem with the phone I RMA'd for an unrelated issue. I'm stumped, because all the other numbers I have recieve my texts just fine, and I've long since removed extra devices from my old iCloud account.
Any ideas??
Are you sure the problem is on your side? I know that in Android you can block certain contacts from calling\texting you - I would make sure you're not blocked, found this online: http://ios.wonderhowto.com/how-to/b...messages-imessages-your-iphone-ios-7-0147393/
Wait, you're using CM. Do you use Google Voice? Is Voice+ enabled? And does this happen on other ROMs? Which carrier are you on and which carrier is he on?
I'm unrooted, on the latest version 5.1.1.
About two months ago or so, whenever I received a MMS from someone with a picture, my messaging app wouldn't download the picture.
This is hit and miss, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can send pictures via MMS, and recipients get them fine, I just can't receive them all of the time.
I've tried various messaging apps (stock, Google Messenger, Contacts+, etc.) and they all behave the same way. I've even tried to manually put in the APN information, and it has no effect.
Mobile data is turned on at all times, so I don't think that is the issue. Also, regular texts come in just fine.
Friends that try to send pics are using various phones on various carriers (some even on Verizon), so I have no idea what the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'd check your app settings first and then call verizon tech support since your not rooted. I use handcent and on verizon and I remember something like this years ago on a bionic, but it was a mobile network problem. Try having MMS msgs sent with mobile data on?
Monday evening, my Mate8 did something I've never seen before.
I use straight talk for my provider, using an "at&t" straight talk sim.
Yesterday evening, my data was flaky, text messages would not MMS,
internet slow.
Since it had been 2 weeks since the phone was rebooted, I rebooted.
Had 2 pop up messages. These were not text message, but an icon in the
taskbar that was sort of bluish that said "provisional messages 2".
Clicked it and it said provisional messages. The date showed 9/1/16
on both. Clicked on the first one, nothing, clicked on the 2nd one, nothing.
Tried internet/text...nothing.
Went into the settings, noticed the data was turned off. Turned on the data
and suddenly everything was working. Internet, text, mms. Not only that, the
speedtest app showed a little boost in performance.
Since I've gotten out of the hacking/mod thing with the Mate2 and now the mate8
and run everything stock, can one of you guru's explain what this was?
TIA
