Bluetooth volume - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

So I was wondering why there is such a huge difference in volume when I switch to BT over my truck speakers? There's been a few times when it would initially start, the volume seemed where it should be and how I like it. Then it switches to a maybe 4-5 notches lower and I have to turn my truck volume to match what it should be. I am not rooted and can't root since this is a Snapdragon variant. So is there. Anything I can do in my settings or a mod or something? I hate this low volume sound when I'm driving.
Thanks

Try settings>sound and vibration>volume
When at volume screen press on the three dots up right side(see pic)
Then press media volume limiter

Then turn it on and set the custom limit all the way to the end of the red line on the dot. That should be max. then you can use the radio volume buttons to raise or low.

I will try a test tomorrow in my own car. But yes you were right. I turn it on and set to max when in the car. When I use ear piece I turn it off so that it will automatically set the limit to where the red li e Starts by default. Tho k that's how it works.

I must be the only one, but I've tried to use Viper several times, and it definitely decreases the sound output on my N5

Thought it did if you weren't using the compatible mode?
When I tried to use Viper4Android, It always show that my driver status is Abnormal. Then if i set to compatibility, it doesn't allow me to play song on Google Music. Gosh ><
There is a flashable zip in this section that works perfectly.

I am hard of hearing i want the phone earpiece louder. That app does what is listed in post #2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...s/mod-headphone-speaker-volume-boost-t2532788.
If you are rooted, use v4a and fauxsound with compatible kernel. The n5 sounds amazing.

That only increases volume of the phone's speaker and headphone jack port. There is no mod that increases in-call volume.

Low speaker volume only when someone calls

Hello everyone!
Today I bought Z5 and I already love it! But... someting's wrong.
When I listen to music etc, the volume of the speakers is loud enough.
Though when someone's calling me, the ringtone barely sounds.
When I preview it while selecting it, it sounds loud enough (for a Z phone).
I'm on 32.0.A.6.152.
Do you what's going on?
PS. Sorry for my bad english...
Separate volume controls for media, alarm and ringtone. Check to see if your ringtone volume is all the way up. English is excellent, by the way.

I already repaired it twice via PC Companion and I even installed version .200 customized UK since Customized GR (where I'm from) is stuck on .152
It's always the same.
SMS, e-mails, Music are ok. Only calls. Even when I'm sliding the ring volume to maximum, for like 500msec it sounds loud and suddenly the volume's becoming lower, thought the bar stays to maximum.
I don't believe it's the device's problem, because the speakers are working perfectly on everything else.
I tried PCC and xproof-flashtool, I changed and tried all possible (maybe) settings, but nothing.
Happy New Year everybody!!!
I don't know what happened, but it got fixed by itself.
I didn't do anything. I just left it and went to sleep.
I woke up and tested it and it's working fine!

Good news
Low volume in call
Searched this Low volume in call a lot and found no answer. Then tried uninstalling all apps that had anything to do with volume.
In call audio is ok now after reboot.
I have the same issue, The volume is really really low. Initially it starts okay and then it just decreases so fast. But when I play some music the volume totally fine.
Hope to see a fix in future updates.

So you don't have this issue anymore? Or did you get used to it?

It got fixed by itself. Sony said that this is normal.
Just wait some hours.
I didn't get used to it because it's still low. The same low as playing music.

In Call Volume Issue

I posted this in the Pixel XL forum as well.
So I just recently noticed that I cannot adjust the volume while on a phone call. The volume buttons trigger the slider, and the slider moves, but the volume does not change. Also, the volume slider doesn't go all the way down. It stops at about the 15-20% mark. Here's a screenshot of the volume slider as low as it will go:

After some searching, I found a PIxel User Community post on the same topic, and posted there as well: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/phone-by-google/P0Lc5nX-Huk
I also found a news item from last summer, describing a similar problem with the Nexus 5: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Goog...l-bug-brought-on-by-the-latest-update_id83468
The following description from back then is far too much like what is going on with my phone to be a coincidence:
"Some of the issues that users are complaining about include the inability to adjust the volume during a call, even though the slider does move. Another complaint found on the AOSP Issue Tracker includes one from a Nexus 5 user who is unable to move the volume slider under the second lowest position."

So, is anyone else here having the same issue? Any ideas on a fix?
Have my phone since 15th of Dec and haven't yet seen this issue. Were you just talking on the phone normally by holding it to your ear?
Yes. It was too loud, so I tried lowering the volume, and nothing happened. Pulled the phone away from my ear, and watched the volume slider go down, but no volume change happened.
Now that I'm aware of it, I check all the time, and this happens on every call now.
Mine definitely adjusts the actual volume. Are there any apps or mods you have installed that could interfere with this?

Not that I know of. My bootloader is unlocked, but I have not flashed a custom recovery or rooted. I'm just running stock, with BL unlocked. Not sure what app or apps would cause this issue.

Bugs in 156 update

Hi guys I've noticed 2 bugs in the latest update, first is that there's no food mode on camera even though it's saying installed and the second bug is that the stereo speakers are on even if the phone is in portrait mode, anybody else got these issues? Cheers
By stereo do you mean from the top earpiece speaker and the bottom streaker? If so then I noticed this happening before the update, thought this might be part of Huawei's new design since their speakers generally tend to be soft.
As for the Good Food mode, working fine for me post update
Edit: just realized I'm on 158, not 156. So my experience might not be applicable to you
Cheers for replying lol sorry I meant 158 I've only had the phone 2 days food mode was there first then 2 software updates turned up taking me to 158 which is when food disappeared. Strange, appreciate the reply yeah I did mean from top earpiece and bottom mupp

Yes, the food camera profile is not present in profile camera after the 156 update. If press "more" on camera profiles list food profile appears installed.
---------- Post added at 05:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 PM ----------
I made a clear cache and data for camera application. I launched the camera and added again the food profile from extended menu. Now appears in the camera profiles list.
how did you upgrade ? if you upgrade via TWRP or the like i think to remember that you should clear dalvik cache and the like to avoid having cche leftovers that create confusion. Or otherwise just repeat the upgrade procedure..
Cheers storm that worked perfectly

Volume Widget Display Volume Levels?

Hey guys what's up, I have been in search of an app that will show volume levels like the old Audio Manger app would do before they discontinued it.

If you mean the volumes levels as in the volume level of ringtones, bluetooth, etc.., you should have that already. When you press the volume button up or down and the volume slider pops-up on the screen, there is a drop down button on the slider, tap it and you'll get a pop-up showing your other volume levels.

Bump:
I've been sporadically looking for a replacement as well. (Yes, I am aware of the volume slider+tap) We are talking about a widget that offers an "at a glance" display on the screen widget showing the current levels like in the OPS's 1st screenshot

I think I found a 3rd party app that has a widget like you want. Go to Playstore, do a search for "The Control Volume Widget".
