Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6(SM-G920F) and someone messed it up very badly. The Problems are:
1. X-axis touch is flipped(vertically flipped).
2. Dial pad codes like *#06#, *#2663# are NOT working.
3. No Registered network. Can not make or receive calls or use cellular data.
4. Phone frequently freezes the restarts automatically.
I tried to flash Stock Firmware but it says DRK error. I think it needs a boot repair. Not sure though. Now I'm in deep trouble. Can you guys help me out?
P.S.: It will be ok if I have to install a custom rom. Just I need this phone to work properly.

Probably you might have damages the EFS data. Use SamsungSmartSwitch for device intilization and backup everything. It will wipe the entire storage.

Guys I have a problem .. my nexus one says "Emergency calls only" why? please help!
You request help and you give no info...
What have you been doing with your phone?
Is it stock? Have you changed anything?
put the stock rom with odin (2.3.3) and does not read the sim
Why would you use odin with Nexus S....
What phone variant do you have and what file did you flash exactly?
EDIT: and by the way, you say Nexus One. This is the Nexus S forum.
I flashed several files .. this http://hotfile.com/dl/107603258/63c6336/I9023_EUR_GRI54_XXKB3.rar.html
and this: http://hotfile.com/dl/111962995/6937fb7/I9023XXKA3.rar.html
I have the same problem with
I have nexus S.. I was wrong
What variant of the Nexus S do you have? Shut your phone down. Then boot it while holding the volume up key. It should boot into the bootloader. Check the "carrier info" field.
I have the italian version i9023.. carrier info - eur
edit: bootloader versione: i9020ecc but i have the i9023..
OK, so you should try the following:
*) Install a full ROM via the stock recovery program. Download this http://android.clients.google.com/p...206299fe6.signed-soju-ota-121341.da820629.zip, rename it to update.zip and apply it.
*) If you still do not have network, check if your IMEI is intact.
*) If you have a valid IMEI and you still have network problems, dial *#*#info#*#* and select CDMA/GSM PRL from the menu.
I flash with clockwork or odin?
It's better to flash with stock flash. If you have written clockworkmod over it, clodkworkmod should be OK as well.
Correct me if I'm wrong. It can not be a problem of baseband ??
Not probably not.
It should be a problem with the EFS data. Maybe wrong NV data in the EFS folder.
Let's see if doing these steps cures it.
Otherwise, the device has to be serviced by Samsung.
not working .. but instead of "info" I have to enter the imei?
You have to enter *#*#4636#*#*
Guys, try to help my friend solve her phone. He no longer has the guarantee and then Samsung can not fix .. Write down all the things you can do to try to make it work. Soft reset, modding etc.
yeeeeeeeeeeeees now 3g is aviableeeeeeeee

It works! Thank you all!
Good for you.
Stay away from ODIN, it's a problem source for the Nexus S.
s should not be more .. there is another solution? : (
Please, i don't have a guarantee
Hello dear ones, I'm lost and I need your help.
I've bought a used SM-g920f, knox x0. It worked flawlessly. Until the first evening when in the middle of a phone call the phone app crashed. After resetting the phone it was still unable to connect to network. I have noticed that baseband/IMEI were set to unknown and so it could not read my sim card.
First I have tried the obvious - upgrading from lollipop to marshmallow. It went easy but did not help. Neither did help resenting to factory settings.
I have rooted and installed twrp recovery adb and stuff.
After almost two days playing with it, I seem to be out of options.
What I tried:
Flashing Different roms - stock and non-stock. (G920FXXS3DPB2_G920FXEU3DPB1_G920FXXS3DPB3_HOME, G920FXXS3DPB2_G920FOXX3DPB2_G920FXXS3DPB3_HOME, Pure-Stock.ExtraLiteROM_XXU3DPCA.DEODEX-v5.5.by.ambasadi, XtreStoLite-ROM-3.0-Final-DPCA) - I do not know the country of origin of this device. (the back is from testing unit), is there some way to know correct original stock ROM ?
Flashing Different modems - (G920FXXS3DPB1_Modem_TWRP, G920FXXU3DPB6_Modem_TWRP, G920FXXU3ZPA1_Modem_TWRP)
Checked sim card in another phone/different card in this phone - if sim card would be invalid, would I still get missing baseband?
Xposed Imei Changer - it did change IMEI. But that's it. Baseband still missing.
*#0011# and other *# stuff..
And I have wiped /efs (it did generate new nv_data. Guess now even broken IMEI would make ma happy)
Any ideas ?
How can I know what can be wrong? /efs partition? wrong firmware combination? hardware issue?
In Samsung Phone Info I get empty on Modem Board, Hardware Revision,Samsung Serial Number,Baseband Version.
Than you for any help or idea!
tried smart Switch emergency reinitialization?
Just to be sure, knox is triped now?
Hi,
This is my first post but, I'm an avid lurker. I am having some issues with my girlfriends 920i. It received an OTA update to marshmallow and ever since it won't read the Sim card. I've tried to flash the official fw through Odin and still having the same problem. Because it doesn't read my Sim card, I have zero access to any mobile network settings.
I am wondering if when they updated the marshmallow, I lost unlock capability.
Also, her imei and sn still match. Most of the problems I see people have are mismatched numbers, and her phone seems fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, I checked the firmware that I flashed and it was INS which seems to be the locked version.
I flashed the INU firmware this morning but still not reading my SIM.
I'm out of options at this point, I'm going to go back to lollipop and see how that goes.
Hi,
I am having this issue for my SM G-920I since 2/3 Jan, 2017. I am using fine on US Tmobile network since Oct 2015, but all of a sudden got the no SIM, emergency calls only and continues to stay like this.. I am curious to know if you resolved the issue and how. Thanks for any feedback!
Help me please
I'm having the same issue. Just flashed INS 6.0.1 firmware on my brand new G920I and now i can't get any mobile signal or data. Tried to flash ZTO firmware for my country, but same issue. My phone was fine before flashing INS firmware. IMEI it's fine too. Recovery shows: Applied multi-csc. What can i do? ((((((((((

Try to connect to Wi-Fi only and once connected, check if there are updates for Software/Firmware.

Already updated and tried to downgrade to 5.1.1, but no sucess. I don't think it's a hw problem, cause it was working before the INS firmware flash, and IMEI number still shows right, no matter what rom i flash (now on MIUI). Can i clean EFS partition and try to flash ZTO firmware again, or i might lost my IMEI and get more problems? Also, wondering if advanced wipe with everything checked on TWRP can help. (data, internal storage, system, sbfs, cache, dalvik cache)
Can you open the phone dialer and enter this code *#*#4636#*#* then clikc Phone Information, and send a screenshot of what you see in the screen (Make sure no IMEI in the screenshot, before you post it here) ? Also check if Radio is OFF or ON.

Codes on my dialer doesn't work, but i'm sure the IMEI is right cause it's showing in phone information. Also, radio is on cause when i search for mobile networks the carriers of my country appears on the screen but when i click on then, just appears a message saying that can't connect
Same problem, any solutions?
I had same issue for over a year, you can check details in my thread, resolved by factory warranty motherboard replacement (free of charge, even thou knox was tripped when I bought it, and I told lady in authorised repair shop that i don`t have warranty).
Forgot to mention that I also tried to repair it via Octoplus box, both by me and some other people (wanted a second opinion), DRK fixed, few new certs written, etc.), not only by flashing fw via Odin or Smart Switch.
And I was 99% sure it was hw, turns I was right.
P.S. country dependable: - in some countries they will probably want to sell you a new motherboard in Samsung (happened to me), but in other factory warranty will be accepted (probably, if the phone is not older than 3 yrs I guess)
After installing a custom ROM on my galaxy s6 it would no longer recognize my SIM card. I did wipe every option in TWRP recovery before flashing the ROM which might have something to do with the issue. The phone states "No SIM Card - No Service" in the top left of the lock screen, it also wont let me call any numbers to edit things in the phone. I have done some research and it sounds like I have wiped the sim and lost the IMEI/EFS data and therefore no longer have access to my sim. I was wondering if there was any possible fix or should I just send it off to Samsung to get repaired?
Did you back up the EFS partition, and put it somewhere safe? If not, you have a paperweight.
Repair won't be covered under warranty.
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Unfortunately I didn't back up the EFS partition. Situation is looking bad. :l
Try dialnig *#06# and see does it shows IMEI and sn, alo try *#0011# select stack 1 and check whether IMEI is OK, or NG.
Also what does it say in phone settings under baseband? Do you have mobile networks menu in settings?
You can try Smart Switch emergency initialization with sn of the phone if IMEI is ok (it will install latest stock fw for your phone) and see if that helps.
When I typed in "*#06#" The SN number was shown however the IMEI number was not. When I typed in "*#0011#" There was nothing but blank spaces separated by grey lines, I tried selecting row 1 however nothing happened. My base band version is "Unknown" listed under settings. I do however have the network settings listed in settings. In Smart Switch when I try to run the device initialization it states that my s6 "doesn't support initialising". I have flashed three different downloads of the stock rom to my phone using ODIN and have had no luck with any of them.
well Smart Switch always says that S6 is not supported, but initialization can be done anyway, just dont connect the phone until it asks you to do so, instructions below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/how-to-smart-switch-emergency-t3383448
What is your model anyway, do you know which region fw was originaly on the phone, and which sv rev is shown in the download mode?
does in recovery mode says anything about DRK?
Unfortunately Smart Switch says that "'SM-G920F' does not support initialing. Please contact out service center." Even when I have entered the correct S/N and device model, as well as not plugging in the phone. My device model is the SM-G920F. I don't know the original region FW that was originally on the phone, however it was purchased in the UK and that is where I am have been ever since I bought the phone. The SWREV is: "B:3 K:2 S:2" in download mode. I currently have TWRP recovery installed so is there a place for me to search for the DRK in TWRP? Or should I re-flash the stock recovery using Odin?
that is weird, I reinitialized my g920f many times without any issue. DRK error is usually shown in stock recovery. does the phone boots up with stock fw, and are you using any custom kernel?
i got the same problem when I flashed xtrolite and alexis custom ROM on my S6, both ROM after flashing I got no service.
But I did a full stock backup in TWRP.
baseband unknown means that there is a problem with modem part of fw. and I dont know what fw you flashed. you said that you tried to flash stock, but it doesn`t work, but a little more details would maybe make a difference, like which fw, and what exactly is happening, what does about the phone menu says.
So far, since baseband is unknown I would try to flash modem fw with odin (for exact fw that is in the phone). before that usb settings should be set to CP, by dialing *#0808#
or if you decide tu run custom fw, you can always try asking in that rom thread, maybe someone already had issues like that with that rom and fixed them, or the developer of that rom can help fix it.
Boot your s6 to download and flash stock rom via odin from samsung it maybe work
I have very weird case. I have upgraded my phone (Smasung Galaxy A31 - dual sim) to Android 12. I did factory reset and cleared all data.
Now, when I configure phone from scratch, everything is OK until I make a call. I can call anybody and I can talk how long I want (after last test It was more than 2 minutes). As soon I end up the call both IMEIs in my phone are gone, phone shows "service unavailable", In the phone settings I can see "IMEI 1: Unknown" "IMEI 2: Unknown" and of course I'm not able to do any other call. Reset of the phone do not help at all.
All I can do in this case is Factory Reset - after that again I can make only one call and IMEIs are gone.
I have observed such behavior sometime ago. I thought it was some ROM issue, so I've flashed previous one (with Android 11) and phone was working fine. Unfortunately I didn't notice that recently Samsung has changed binary version of the firmware and now I'm doomed - I cannot flash old firmware anymore and there are no custom roms for my phone model.
I have rooted the phone and I've tried several tools to force IMEI but none is working for me.
I have no NVRAM backup. As I read the problem may be located there - but if so, then why I can do one call at all?
What could be the cause of such weird behavior?
Do a Google search for "restore-imei-number-after-an-nvram-clear": Dozens findings ...
So also this one:
[GUIDE] Restore IMEI number after an NVRAM clear
This thread will go over restoring the IMEI number if you cleared the NVRAM (or fully formatted your phone). The official tool to use is the SN Writer tool from Mediatek but as the P60 processor is not compatible with that, I had to search for...
forum.xda-developers.com
@xXx yYy
I didn't clear NVRAM. I mean at least I'm not aware of it. Correct me if I'm wrong but if NVRAM is cleared/broken I shouldn't be able to do ANY call, right?
And as I wrote, I already observed such issue on my phone long time before and then the solution was to downgrade ROM to previous version and phone was working fine - so I assume that NVRAM is ok, right? I cannot dowgrade it now due to changed Binary Version
I'm struggling with this issue since last two weeks and I also wanted to verify if my NVRAM is fine. But I cannot turn my phone into Meta Mode. Do Samsung devices have it at all? (Samsung Galaxy A31 dual sim)
My phone is rooted and have TWRP flashed:
Can I somehow access NVRAM from TWRP and check what is going on there?
Can I somehow access NVRAM from Magisk (modules) / LSPosed and check what is going on there?
IDK. Reason: Have neither TWRP nor Magisk ever installed on any of my phones.
I have found some workaround for this issue here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fixed-rooted-a325m-suddenly-no-imei-no-sim.4386753/post-86588571
After applying it, there is still some glitch (it looks internal modem restarts after each call and I'm getting some notification about that) but at least I'm able to do calls without Factory Reset.
