Cannot Connect to PC - No Fastboot

I'm not too sure what happened, but for some reason my Honor 8 does not connect to my computer (I tried changing in the developer settings, as well as trying the settings within PlayMenu). A factory reset didn't help and it worries me that I cannot access fastboot mode.
Anyone have any ideas?

What do you mean you can't connect? Your device doesn't show in Files?

Yeah, doesn't register on my computer. It will charge though.

Did you try in another computer?

HiSuite just keeps asking me to connect my phone lol.
and @adriansticoid I tried it in 2 other computers, another windows computer and a linux.

I'm afraid that the connector your phone is messed up, keep trying and if it doesn't work, ask for a replacement

You can see your phone in File Manager of Windows 10 even with USB debugging disabled.

Fastboot or File Explorer doesn't work?
Do you have drivers installed?

Honor 8 FRD-AL00 in Huawei Erecovey mode.

Hi,
I have the honor 8 FRD-Al00 (chinese) only 2 days .
The phone ask to update the emui, and i did but now the phone is stock in erecovery mode when ask to download the latest version and recovery via wifi but fail every time.
I try to reset to fabric settings but don´t work.
i don´t know what happen and i don´t know what to do anymore.
Please anyone can help me?

is a gift, but i know is from gearbest but if i can resolve the problem here is better than send the phone to chine and all the process.

i have try the two methods but don´t work. via wifi fails everytime. via hisuite the recovey said the phone is not supported

you want to know if i can enter in menu fastboot? power and volume down key? yes and said Phone locked Frp lock. the android in the begin are 7.0 but after this happen i try to reset to fabric so now i don´t know.

in hisuite the only option is system recovery but the phone is not supported

i manage to boot the phone but now is in startup menu to choose the language and so on, but in loop, when i finish with the finger print he go to the first step. anyone can help me?

i made the factory reset but the phone is stuck in startup. don´t exit the startup
i have some firmwares for this and i try lol if i can make this to work right i make here my all processe and links for everyone. but know i'm stuck on this

Honor 8 FRD-AL00 Briked
Hi I have a problem also with honor 8 with rom FRD-AL00, I unlocked the phone I installed the twrp recovery while installing the rom eu L09 the smartphone turned off black screen but it was a fastboot, i restored with the original ROM with DC -Phoenix everything ok but with android test, later because I'm stubborn, I tried to flash the rom L09 with DC_Phoenix successfully the L09 but I found them all changed zero and also the S / N, I tried several times to reflash with the Original rom but at some point it is briked the phone lights up alone when it is loaded and then comes into sdcard recovery but always with 5% and software install failed, even without SDcard inserted, does not vieve recognized by the PC, does not enter In fastboot, the PC only recognizes it when it's on the software install failed screen with the entry (Linux File-CD Gadget USB Device) this is the only way to connect to the computer. I also tried all the options with volume and power buttons but nothing. Looking for help as I can solve it?

Are you able to flash twrp?

Unfortunately, I can not get in any way to restart with recovery from SDcard but it does not recognize any firmware stops at 5% with the following message (software install failed).

No! I have already explained it does not enter fastboot and is not recognized by the PC, the only way is sd card but I tried various firmware stops at 5% even seza sd card.
When it enters sdcard recovery mode and connects to the PC it is reconnected in this way as a CDROM (linux file-cd gadget usb device).

I have honor 8 al00 . And the same thing happens to me. But you just need to put the firmeware on the sd card and start it from the bootloader.

Revive of DEAD HONOR 9! (HARDBRICK) (NO TURN ON/CONNECT USB) - SOLUTION!!. (PICTURES)

Hello,
I finaly found out a method how to establish USB-Connection with a "dead" honor 9 (wasn't recognized by computer/didn't turn on/just nothing).
WARNING!! YOUR warranty will be lost IF YOU OPEN HONOR 9!, no guarantee you get anything fixed/Maybe you break more!!
So I show you how I did it:
1: Open the Honor 9 Back: Tutorialvideo (not made by me)

- I used Hair Dryer + Knife to open the back. But use the tools in this video if you have.
2: - Install right USB-Drivers.: I needet the drivers "ASC-Driver_Handset WinDriver 2.01.00.00.exe" - You can find them in google!
3. - Connect the 2 Test Points like in my images. I used the SIM-Card tool from the phone to do it.
4. - Connect phone via USB - if everything gone right it shows up in the device manager as "HUAWEI USB COM 1.0"
5. - NOW We need an app or method to flash FirmWare in this mode... actually not supported by DC-Phoenix.... If any solution I edit in the thread.
6. UPDATE UPDATE! PHONE GOT REVIVED READ SECOND POST!

UPDATE UPDATE !
- HONOR 9 REVIVED FROM THE DEAD
- Downloaded DC-PHOENIX (dc-unlocker.com) ->Made Account/Charged Credits
- Connect the Phone via Testpoints, than open DC-Phoenix APP
- Flashed ( Stanford-AL10_STFAL00S001028_Board Software_general_Android 7.0_EMUI5.1_05022CLB ) ->You can find it in DC-Phoenix search.
-> Phone got revived. (NO MORE Huaway boot animation - I got strange red and green colors instead)
-> Open H9 in Fastboot mode (Turn phone off than: VOL+Down + USB CABLE PUT IN)
-> OPEN DC-PHOENIX
-> FLASHED "Stanford-L09_C432B130_Firmware_Belgium_Germany_France_Netherlands_Portugal_Switzerland_Spain_Italy_Austria_Poland_Denmark_Finland_Czech_Republic_Hungary.APP" with DC-Phoenix.
[UPDATE 2}
- You have to restore IMEI/SN/CARRIER AND COUNTRY AFTER UPDATING (empty board) with HCU Client - (You can find the software on dc-unlocker.com)
- THAN INSERT SIM CARD TO GET OFFICIAL OTA UPDATES.
-> 100% back to stock with full OTA, everything working, boot animation also back

This should work with all damaged Smarpthones but I also think there are better and much softer techniques to revive looping or software side errors where the phone still turns on.
Maybe try via fastboot mode? But no OT please there are enough threads for it bro.
Revive via testpoints should always be the last option to revive a phone.

I tried this and doesnt work for me, it doesnt even show up as unknown device in device manager.
does anyone know why or is my phone completely dead?

I updated my phone with HuRUpdater and no my phone won't turn on. I wanted to locate the ASC-Driver_Handset WinDriver 2.01.00.00.exe, but all of the links are false download links. Can someone point me to a valid link for the driver? Thanks!

No, I did not saved the log. The update went well, no error or any difference. I updated my phone with HuRUpdater several times without problem.
I updated to STF-L09C432B376, but I had problems with that firmware and I went back to B371, as I did before, when I had issues with B374 as well.
Everything went well, and after B371, I installed Magisk v17, like always, pressed the reboot button and since that, the phone won't turn on.

As you're stating that after installing the driver, the WIndows sees the phone as "HUAWEI USB COM 1.0" :
So you're good to go, then no need for you to open up your device loonking for test points

I just installed the mentioned driver, connected the phone and the "HUAWEI USB COM 1.0" showed up.

DC-Phoenix give me an error when writing bootloader. I have a brick now.

Yes, several times, with method was 100% worked. The main board died.

Rapid81 is getting its bricked STF honor9 seen as COM3 by windows.
He said he changed it in windows settings to COM1.
But both times it didn't worked with DC-Phoenix or IDT...
Maybe he did not managed something...

EML-L09 (Canada) Stuck In eRecovery After OTA Update

Hi all. I have the Canadian Huawei P20 (EML-L09 from Koodo) and the bootloader is locked. Also, USB debugging was never enabled on this phone. After an OTA update my phone is stuck on the eRecovery screen with the following 4 options:
1) Download latest version and recovery
2) Wipe data/factory reset
3) Reboot
4) Shutdown
I've tried all of the above options and the phone always take me back to this eRecovery screen. When I tried option 1, it tells me "Package info failed" or something.
I've searched around and read that I can flash the Service firmware using the sd card method, however, I am not sure which version of the service firmware I need to get? Could anyone of you with the Canadian version help me out? Is it the C900 version, if so, where can I download it since I can't seem to find it anywhere. Please help and thanks in advance!
EDIT: Just realized that the P20 does not have an sd card slot...

Have you tried to download the relevant firmware on a computer, and connect to device to the computer? Thinking usb otg...
I haven't done this on a P20, but on a nexus 6p.

So far, I've tried flashing the boot, recovery, cust, and system partitions via fastboot without any luck. It always came back with remote: command not allowed. I am guessing that's due to the bootloader/FRP is locked?

When you're frp is locked you can't use ADB/fastboot.
You're always end in erecovery? Just to make sure, you have unplugged USB cable? When you select latest firmware you've entered the right WiFi code?

My spontaneous comment to you is; Call Huawei and let them/service partner fix it.

Yes, it always boot back into the erecovery screen and the USB cable was not plugged in. When I selected latest firmware I've made sure the WiFi password is correct but it gave me the " Failed to download package info" error.

I've tested the OTG dload method and it gave me the "Software installation failed." I will contact Huawei and have them fix it since I purchased the phone only 2 months ago. Thanks everyone for the help!

That's why you should always go for the full package download. Unless you did, then that's very unlucky. hope youll get it fixed asap!

Moto G7 Power won't boot. Bricked?

So after I installed the Official Android 10 GSI just out of curiousity, it worked and the only reason I didn't stay with it was because it didnt have the new gestures and no lockscreen options. Everything else worked amazingly.
At this point I just wanted to install LineageOS and root but the phone kept rebooting to TWRP over and over no matter what I'd flash and no matter how many times I wiped it kept rebooting until it eventually got no response at all.
I tried everything restoring back up nothing, when I tried just flashing the zip file the recovery screen just kept flashing then rebooted back. I cannot save this for life of me I am left with a paperweight.
Ive tried the classic Moto G force restart trick but no luck in anything. No matter what I tried now it wont respond to any button presses. Am I just screwed? I'm waiting 24 hours before trying again while plugged in. What am i to do?
