Thank you. Do you know if the KDZ software on this site works for the K371?
Edit: There is none available according to the link.
I'll be getting this phone soon and I want to start development on it. Being able to restore after a softbrick/hardbrick would be useful in developing for this device.
At least filter the kdz of this update.
Since I can not update it by ota
Anyone have a follow-up on this? Some sites say AT&T has already started FOTA for the K371, but I haven't seen anything so far.
Yes, it is available for download. I got it last night. Need Wi-Fi to download though. 1.3GB or so.
Yup, in Houston TX pulling it down now.

A dump would be nice but I'm not sure how likely that is to do without root or some tool.
Someone please upload the kdz of that compilation, since some are not in the united states

There is another way with the program LG mobile tool can be updated but it has to be through the United States IP, in case you do not have an application that changes the IP to a United States. In case I managed to update look where the application under kdz and upload to Megaupload

ENG: it's because the update does not depend on LG, it comes directly from at&t. That's why I asked you if you updated it with the method you describe before.
ES: Se debe a que la actualización no depende de LG, viene directamente de at&t. Por eso te pregunté si lo habías actualizado con el método que describes antes.
Yes, seems to be OTA only so far. I'd be happy to dump it if someone wants to provide directions. since we don't have root that may not be easy. Haven't seen any major changes to the device or anything. Just nougat stuff. for AT&T users all the AT&T services (VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, Advanced Messaging) are working fine.

Some issue they say fixed from the post in Chinese BBS forum is Edge issue fixed (previously only have gprs connection, no edge)
If you want to have root on Lollipop, you need to flash this zip file from custom recovery, follow the steps as below
http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/rom-d83820c_twn_pure-16gb-32gb-confirm.37488/
If you are on non rooted Lollipop and you want root, either wait for someone to find a way for it or flash back to KitKat then use custom recovery to flash the above zip file.
You can use above steps steps for flashing KDZ file or you can use below steps and file to flash using tot & DLL file
Flash using tot & DLL file http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-lg-g-pro-2-with-a-tot-firmware.html
To get the KitKat 4.4 KDZ file, paste this into your web browser http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=xxx

Should be able to flash. But if cannot then you can flash TW 4.4.2 tot file first, then flash this 5.0.1 file.
Link to 32GB TW tot & DLL file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58665507&postcount=10
Only issue now would be how to restore backup data after flash to Lollipop, and also how to root it.
It seems both 16GB and 32GB of Taiwan versions are same.

mine is d83810f ESA version, not sure if i CAN flash this one or wait for OTA
Hi guys, I have D83810b-HKG-xx how much i have to wait for ota update?
Don't know, SEA version is also update-less for now.
We also only had the "10b" version of the firmware.
No c, d, e, f, whatever. Just "b".
Weird, how LG manages updates.
(I really hope they will be more transparent in the future. Like post changelogs, information about what changed, and push out updates all at once, for unlocked phones.)

theres a thread here that one member sent an email to alcatel and they responded that we will get an update soon to fix some of the issues we have
I bought an Alcatel Hero 2 from Amazon. Haven't recieved it, but i saw from youtube videos that they said it's chubby. The device has Android 4.4, do you think Alcatel will release an upgrade to upgrade to Lollipop? Or am I stuck with this version for ever?

No there isn't. How can make them here create a section for the Hero 2? The Hero 2 was release last September, so is it also early to have an upgrade officially from Alcatel? How good is Alcatel with upgrades? i.e, do they care about upgrades? Or am I stuck with Kitkat?

Talk to the mod's to see about getting an area added....as for the Hero 2....a quick google seems to indicate it's been rooted...you should check google to see if custom recoveries have been setup for your phone...if so I'm sure someone somewhere has created rom's for you.

I found only a web page that says there's a Lollipop ROM for it, but it seems SCAM (cloudwire.co/alcatel-hero-2/). Because the same web page is created for many devices (cloudwire.co/) with the same wordings and pictures, even the same comments. This page is replicated across many web pages with the same comments but with different names for the users! So I'm afraid to follow the instructions there, because it can have spyware.
If I build a vanilla ROM from the Android source code, do you think it will run fine on my Alcatel? Or am I going to face drivers issues? Also, if it failed, can I return to the original ROM? Many thanks for your help!

You can't flash a rom to the device without a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP. You can't build a recovery without the source to build the boot.img for your particular device. It's alot more involved than you think and if you want more info you might try posting your questions to Android Q&A.

From the quick looks of it. It looks like that could very well be the small update that most of us got when we first got out phone. It looks like he had an older build version of 5.0.2 and the ota was only 84mb in size. All the 5.1.1 updates I have seen have been sever hundred megs.

I can confirm, though there seems to be 2 different updates (maybe one for the 5.5" and one for the 4.7")
My Idol 3 5.5" (OT-6045Y) has just been updated to 5.0.2-010 03. As expected, I can't find any changelog anywhere, so I will report here any noticeable change as I find them.
EDIT: Just found a new animation in the display settings when reversing the phone. It's called Helix.
Today i get the update to the 5.5" 32g i don.t know what are the modifications. When the phone was getting actualized it has got an system actualization and an android actualization the update has 120mb
Sorry my bad English...

You are coming across as very frantic so step 1 is to calm down...the world is not going to come to an end because you can't get an update installed. If you are unable to USE your phone then that's something you should have mentioned in the post. You ask for help but don't provide any details as to what happened when you tried to apply the update, what error you received or what the phone is doing now. We are not mind readers so you do need to supply specifics for folks to be able to help.

It hasn't rolled out to my hometown yet. Which sucks, since I was out of town yesterday and I got the update notice there. Like a sane user, I decided to wait until I got home to do said update, just for the process to hang, followed by a "no updates available" notice here at home so far. I'm impatiently waiting for it to roll out here. I'm hoping it helps with the occasional lag I'm experiencing when using the phone around town...

I've already flash the h915 kdz with no issues but i'm thinking about selling the phone and having an at&t logo on the back and h915 model on software may put some buyers off.

I moved the date forward a week and the update started. The download was really slow and it took overnight to do the update.

I tried flashing h915 oreo flashing on my H910 but I had rare to no cellular reception. Is this working for you? If so, can you kindly guide how did you flashed kdz? I used Partition DL to flash all partitions which didn't work. Everything else worked fine though, except cellular reception
Got my update this morning as well. It took about 15min to complete

I am making a zip of the H910 Oreo firmware for people that don't have AT&T, so can't get the update.
Unfortunately, there is no KDZ for the H910, so in order to flash it, you have to root on Nougat, and then flash it from TWRP.
Until the issues with the engineering bootloader can be worked out, it will not be for people that want to stay rooted, but again, you will have to root to flash it.

After you flash the kdz, enter LG menu and do a factory reset. You will have signal after that.
*#546368#*915# > SVC Menu > Factory Reset
You'll get an error every time you boot but the whole rom is working fine for me.

Hey man, please use English on xda so everybody can understand and interact. As far as I know, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, the H915 and H910 are the same phone actually. So that's why you can flash the other's rom without issues. It's still not possible to root stock oreo though.
same answer in Portuguese:
Fala mano, por favor use inglês no Xda para que todos possam entender e participar. Até onde eu sei, o H915 é H910 São na verdade o mesmo modelo, por isso você pode fazer flash sem brickar nada. Ainda não é possível fazer root no stock oreo.

Awesome! Looking forward to it. I would prefer a rooted phone to fix screen retention that LG had one job to fix on oreo..

If that's what I saw in the Xiaomi Forum, I think the pie has been distributed as a beta tester limit.
I did not select the beta tester

The link doesn't work
Are you sure is the real Xiaomi MI A2 Lite Pie beta testing and not another GSI?

I just did fastboot oem unlock (because fastboot flashing unlock and fastboot flashing unlock_critical said unknown command) and then used MiFlash Tool to flash the image, everythin works fine
So this is the real deal no GSI or something
See my procedure here, but I give no guarantee it works for you. These are just the steps I made:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78273427&postcount=22
Does it work without problems? if it works bless you man!
Put the image of fastboot without data loss. Significantly improved responsiveness of the system. I have not found any bugs yet. Attached the correct .sh to anyone.
do i have to wait 72 hours to unlock the bootloader tho?

bootloader can be unlocked at any time, you do not have to wait for anything.

Thank you very much, I flashed it through MiFlash (with the adjusted script). Magisk is gone for now obviously, but I hope for something to come the next days.
edit: Got magisk working with the manual patching guide found here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/how-to/guide-install-magisk-proper-support-ota-t3836952
the google drive link isnt working for me

Did you use the boot.img in fastboot image? I tried patching that one but when booted the patched_boot.img magisk doesn't prompt me to install it.

I had to hit the Install button manually too, so that shouldn't be a problem.

There isn't the install button, there's only one string that say "installed 17.1" with the green check but I cannot install or uninstall it as I did on previous versions on Oreo with the same method

There's no option I'm magisk... It just says "installed" but there aren't options as there was in oreo (I followed the guide for the previous build with oreo with no problems at all). Don't know what's the problem but I have no time till tomorrow to do it again if I'm not sure it'll work
Edit: today it worked perfectly, probably there was a problem with network connection yesterday at home thanks for all!
