HELLO!!
Writing for a delicate issue, a year ago I received this device as a gift from family and I've really started to get used to it, but before that I had a us variation Samsung galaxy S3 which I could modify in the craziest ways with root, custom roms and such, I always used this source for everything that peeked my interest but now I've noticed that not much android development (if not at all) is dedicated to the Latin variation of phones, in my case the XT1543 / Build MPI24.107-55-2 Dual sim, maybe I haven't looked good enough or maybe due to lack of understanding I may not have noticed but if any one can help me pointing out any great custom roms that can support this variation and build to kindly let me know, I'd really appreciate it since I don't want to think of throwing away this phone only because of very limited customization.
If anyone can and is willing to help, then God bless you. :good:
Every rom tagged as [OSPREY] should work on your device, unless stated otherwise.

I'm using this device, and as monterrey4ever says every ROM/kernel/etc that says OSPREY should work. For some reason there's no official TWRP, but a simple web search leads to https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/orig-development/twrp-twrp-moto-g-2015-t3170537

I know this may sound far-fetched, but I am proposing a possible merger of developers from all the Galaxy S series. I know that the hardware may slightly differ, but apart from a led flash here, ffc, keyboard, and 4g, the hardware is the same. After all, 10+ devs are better than 1 or 2 per section. Perhaps a seperate subforum for devs or senior members only to create and test new roms can be created, members test with their own phones and report, and devs can collaborate.
I understand that some junior members may complain about beta bugs and such, but that is why I proposed a restricted area only to those who fully comprehend that a new rom does include bugs.
I know CM7 is such a project, but perhaps we should extend that scope to something beyond that, and utilize the advantage that Samsung has given us by 10 million sales.
Actually, you'd be surprised. A lot of the custom roms in the dev section are collaborative efforts, either directly by a group of people working on the same rom, or by one or two devs building a rom that includes resources built by others (think voodoo sound, lagfix, OC or reoriented kernels).
Why don't build a kernel which detects on which hardware it runs - and so changes it's behaviour? aka universal kernel
this was talked about in the earlier days but the board modes never made it happen, i know these guys get together by other means but i think it would be nice to see what was going on and where.
i poked around the fascinate forum a few times and those guys were having issues with voodoo ports. to the point that everyone was badmouthing it and claiming "real devs say it's useless..." im sure supercerio wouldn't appreciate that and might be promted to help those guys out in a better port(which im sure by now he has). it would be nice to see team whisky and team komin and other in direct competition and people like supercerio and eugene373 and hardcore and neldar and coolya all working in the same forum, imagine what might get done!
also the forums go by name not model which is confussing for canadian users. the telus guys are posting the the verizon forum instead of the tmobile and att forums where more stuff will cross over. there is a seperate forum for the mezmerize which is a fascinate, why? and there is no forum for the continuum or the indulge.
it is really all confused and screwed up, the forums should go by model number with names in parenthisis like GT-I9000/m/b/... (galaxy s,bell vibrant,...) and T959 (t-mo vibrant, telus fascinate)
or just one big forum labled galaxy s and threads can be have the aplicable phone in the title. i think the exposure to other phones will help people understand the differences and have less confusion, a bunch of verizon guys flashed telus firmware not understanding that it was a different phone even though the title said telus only. i think if they weren't so isolated they would understand that the phones aren't all the same, we would think that people who are flashing firmwares would know these things but unfortunately anyone can find this site on google.

That's exactly what I've been saying since I came to XDA. The dev's we have for the Galaxy S phones are amazing at what they've done. But publically at least, the main dev's seem to stay isolated working on their own projects.
I say this all the time, look at the Droid 1 developer's. There are like 30 prominent developers for that phone. And a lot of them are all working on projects together. We just don't seem to have the hype the Droid folks get.
While I agree seeing devs share notes is awesome, I honestly don't think the users would keep up with the responsibility of flashing things made strictly for their phones (lot of noobs will flash the wrong thing and mess up their phones).
While some universal software sounds nice it also sounds very hard to achieve.
Also it seems to me like the main reason most of the big shots around here make anything at all is mostly to make something they like for themselves and happen to share for others to use and help find bugs and brainstorm new ideas. This is awesome especially when they share source because it creates variety for the end users and allows other development to see things they might not have thought of and maybe even improve on someone else's idea.
Plus think about this;
I'm on a captivate with a js3 rom (i9000 based I believe) so maybe an i9000 could flash it but maybe not because its been modded for the cappy
Same with my kernel, reoriented i9000 kernel set up for captivates.
Could you imagine the naming structure of threads for this kind of stuff? I hardly think anyone would want to sort through all that to find a rom, kernel, modem, and whatever else that all match up nicely.
I do think a forum for devs only focused on the entire galaxy s series is a good idea, they can all see what each other are doing and maybe use that knowledge to help their own projects.
I also agree that the current forums for certain devices not existing and others being duplicates is a little silly, but someone just complained about the telus users posting in Verizon forums instead of tmo/att so where would you like to draw the line?
Also half of the galaxy s series was made for GSM and the rest cdma (not all devices are created equally) so even at some of the most basic levels these devices can be different, I doubt a fascinate modem would work for me but I have no issues trying a vibrant modem once in a while.
Again, the ideas you stand for are great but I don't see it being accomplished very easily.

I know our Xoom is getting a bit long in the tooth, but it still is one of the finest equipped pieces of hardware out there. I've been using the Omnirom 4.4.4 iteration for many months now, and love it.
How many tablets can you name that have external sdcard,HDMI, and USB capability besides the normative features most tablets have.
I think the Xoom might just might have a very good future with the next iteration of Android, Lollipop. I'd love to be able to
work on this, but if I did it, I'd have to find someone who would loan me a Xoom they have laying around unused for an extended period of time.
I don't know, but the more I think of it the more excited I become.
That's not how it works...... You are a user not a developer.... I will see what can be done when sources come out but no this is a scam! Why get a Xoom if you already have one? From a account with no rom threads started

Wasn't a scam Cameron. I have 1 Xoom that is my primary computing device with anything having to do with mobile devices. I will not have it's useability compromised.
By the way, long ago I wrote code for the Atari ST, STacy and Falcon. In the last few hours I have been able to get a second Xoom from a friend locally (he's not using it, and thought it was bricked-It wasn't, just needed help-I've got working) once I get my friend's Xoom up to speed and brush up on my coding skills I should be able to help.
Honestly, I'm 74 years old and just tired and busy enough that I'd rather not take away from my limited time to become a developer again. At this time I'd like to just be a user and return my friend's fully working Xoom to him
Cameron, It seemed like most of the developers had just gone into hiding and I was hoping to generate interest from the community..
You don't know me, or really know much about me. If you did, you'd know that I wasn't attempting to scam anyone. In fact, saying that my goal was to scam is almost criminal and libelous, but I'm not one to easily take take offense.
Just please don't do a rush to judgement again. Once you make such statements they aren't easily retracted.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Your friend,
Rob

I am simply a "user" also but I can attest to the fact that I have seen numerous posts from Kingsman1 in other Xoom forums and he is always there to help others with questions or problems they are having with their tablet.

Thanks for the vote of confidence my friend. The Lollipop Software Development Kit (SDK) is out there. I think that I'm going to hide and watch(though I am available at any time) as far as development is concerned. There are many of us who need help, including me from time to time. I'll go back to helping when I can.
Blessings to all,
Rob

And add another vote from me - I have seen and read many a helpful Kingsman post in these forums - I wish I had some sort of useful skills other than flashing other peoples hard work or I would help - hope this generates the desired response from some other motivated developers - best of luck Sir Rob -
me also
have been running CM11 nighties for some time now but also think it would be cool to see some lollipop love for our xoom.
Yes please !

Since being on IOS since 2011 I haven't used this account ; I got on here to say thank you; you are an inspiration for the ages. As our knowledge and experience becomes "mature" it's good to see that young or wise by years; we can all work together.
By the way,
I do have a second Xoom of my own not, and am running Omnirom 5.1.1 Alpha on it. At the moment, I'm looking to see what it can, and can't do. I hope to be able to help Schischu develop this into a stable, and very complete Rom now. Even so, this alpha is very polished, fast, and smooth.
I think we're gonna love it.
Blessings,
Rob
hey, hopefully im posting this in the right section. im still pretty new to xda as well as the fascinating world of root access, custom recovery's and roms, and such so please let me know if this post is out of place and i apologize ahead of time if it is.
anyways, as for my original reason for posting to the forum, hi everybody ive somewhat recently discovered the possibilities of root access, custom roms and the like. not long ago i was in the market for a new device and came across an offerup post for a galaxy core prime SM-G360T1 (the metro pcs variant) at the price of $35 obo soo, personally never being the biggest samsung supporter i offered $20 n continued looking for another decent LG to hook up to my metro service. long story short they accepted my offer n deals like that shant b ignored so i purchased said core prime n spent the whole night searching through the xda forums to learn all i could.
soo, here i am now the proud owner of my first galaxy device, a rooted SM-G360T1 with a good working touch version of twrp (my preferred choice in custom recoveries) but, as ive come to discover only one very aptly named custom rom exists for this particular galaxy and though i completely respect its creator for all the time & effort he put into releasing the first working pre-rooted, de-bloated custom rom available for the SM-G360T1, i personally decided to stick with the stock rooted firmware and do the de-bloating and such myself.
ok sry about the mindless rambling there i may have gotten a bit carried away. now, as for my point in posting this in the first place. i wouldnt feel right asking others to solve my little issues for me so im not gunna try to pressure anybody into puttin out more roms for the metro core prime. instead, if at all possible i would merely like to meet someone more experienced and well-versed in the art of android development who might b interested in maybe taking me under their wing so that i might get the opportunity to learn the ways of the code and hopefully one day have all the knowledge necessary to develop my own custom roms, or maybe even eventually get myself a couple of apps that i can b proud of onto the play store.
to summarize, i am but a young aspiring software developer will very little knowlege of or experience with code, tho was raised on home built pcs my whole life so i know my way around a desktop pretty well hardware-wise as well as software-wise, im very willing and eager to learn, whilst having already developed through my previous experiences, a healthy fear of bricking yet another phone which has resulted in an increase in the frequency with which i backup my data, as well as a certain acquired hesitation toward attempting any uncertain actions without first doing the appropriate research on the given subject and im hoping to find someone willing to pass some of their vast knowledge down to me whom i can consider to b my teacher, professor, sensai, master, whichever u prefer, and whom i would never hesitate but to thank and give credit for any and all software that i may one day develop as a result of the lessons they had taught me :victory:
aaaanyways, this post turned out a lot longer than i anticipated so, if uve been able to stick it out and make it this far i am both sry for taking up so much of your time, as well as truly grateful to u for having taken said time to hear me out. well, have a wonderful day everybody and i hope to hear from my future sensai soon. until such time i shall b waiting paitiently thnx again for reading
oh and also just wanted to add that if anybody that knows what theyre doing happens to be in the midst of making/porting any new roms for the SM-G360T1 samsung galaxy core prime metro pcs version and needs any help with like testing or wutever let me know, i got a good twrp nandroid backup ready to b restored n just in case of an emergency i still got odin and the rooted kernel that i used to root it in the first place saved onto my pc
Hello all,
I just bought a Transformer Pad TF0310C (after a bunch of research it looks like it is the Best Buy exclusive version of the TF103C which unfortunately has an Intel quad core, 1gb ram, 16gb storage), I am guessing there probably are no roms, or really anything at all for this device (spent an hour or so yesterday trying to find any and all I really found were posts of people trying to figure out what this device equivalent was to try and see if the roms will work for it)? I wish I had researched a bit more before I bought it, but too little too late (it was only $85~ so no huge deal). Assuming there are no roms for it, is it possible to adapt a current rom over to this architecture?
I am familiar with linux, several programming languages (not an expert in any, but definitely know enough of each to get any job done that I have needed thus far), manipulating devices to suit my needs, etc, so I feel that if I had enough documentation and resources available I could get something going, as long as someone with more experience tells me that it is indeed at least possible. There are probably going to be quite a few more people who are going to be looking for them as well as this device is currently a "best seller" on woot.com as a refurb, so I am hoping to try and help not only myself, but possibly the community as a whole by trying to provide at least a rom for the device, if nothing else, it will be a great learning experience for me.
Thanks all!

Hi, I am in the same boat as you and was just wondering if you found anything more on this? Unfortunately, I am not a DEV at all so wouldnt be able to help you out other than perhaps testing things? I have rooted many devices and am surprised there is nothing for this one..- Thanks!

Hey there, I have came across a few things. It looks like at least rooting is possible, it was found and tested that the process and tools to do so from the TF103C work on the TF0310C as well from a forum post I found that I had to use chromes google translate to read here : http://www.phonandroid.com/forum/comment-rooter-votre-asus-tf103c-k010-tf0310c-t101416.html I found it at work yesterday and was going to do more research but am still in the process of moving, so my evening was filled with nothing but moving boxes, lol. I will be doing more research though. I believe it is possible to install Clockworkmod recovery using the TF103C image as well, which might mean that if there are any roms for it, they might work for ours as well!
Here are a few things I found that may or may not end up being useful
http://marshmallow-rom.net/download/rom-asus-transformer-pad-tf103c/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/asus-transformer-pad-tf103c-k010-bricked-t2889843
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/comprehensive-guide-unbricking-asus-t3106719
(This one, I read on another forum, can be used if you want to possibly install windows 8 on it.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/x98-air/general/teclast-x98-air-3g-tablet-9-7-2048x1536-t2913035
Thank you for the great info. Did you end up trying anything? I was thinking about trying the tutorial from the marshmallow- rom forum but am a little nervous.

I've seen many a ROM posting for other variants of this phone, all of which I'm sure are more popular. Let's face the facts, though, and that is, not all of us can afford or procure without hassle these 'mainstream' variants. I'm happy to say that, given an appropriate audience to serve, I'm willing to put in the time to make a ROM for the SM-S820L (TracFone) variant of the Galaxy Core Prime. If anyone is willing to help provide resources to make the building go faster should this actually go through, I'll be happy to list you as a contributor. The ROM will hopefully be a port of CyanogenMod. Thank you in advance if you should choose to help support this project!

Hey bro, I have a post on this section about the ROM I just tweaked for the SM-S820L. That is my first and only smartphone and yeah man I'm in!
I'm sending you a PM right now!:good:
Nevermind. I guess you dont accept PM's.
Well, I'll leave the ball in your court. PM me here on this site or shoot me an email at: [email protected]
I have another friend who knows a thing or 2 about coding and has the same model as I(SM-S820L). I know of some others at Android Area 51 who have blazed some trails with this Core Prime model already and may have some material for us to work with.
