Enable capacitive recents/back button while screen off - General Questions and Answers

I am trying to turn on the screen by using recents or back button using any button-remap app (Tap Screen On or proximity screen on drains battery, i guess) But those buttons dont work while screen is off. So i need to know if there is a workaround to enable them.
I am currently using Galaxy J500F running stock android M with twrp, xposed working.
Any help/idea would be appreciated

Any way to turn the screen off on the lock screen?

I prefer not to shimmy up the phone to reach the power button, and have it set up so a double tap on the back key turns the screen off. However, they do not shoe up on the lock screen. So I have to enter the pattern then turn the screen off. Does anyone know a mod or widget you can place on the screen in the lock screen to turn the display off?
Thanks
Viper ROM has that sort of option. I don't use Xposed, but I believe it does as well.

If you're willing to flash a custom kernel, Evolution's kernel has swipe to sleep feature (swipe right to left on the bottom of the screen to turn it off, works on lock screen.)

If you are using the stock LockScreen, double tapping anywhere on the display will turn the screen off. If you are using a replacement LS you can get an Xposed module that turns the screen off with a double tap on the status bar.

your volume keys should be disabled when the screen is off. unless you are using an app that enables them, or have an rom option enabling them.

I think op is asking about disabling volume keys when screen is ON, but locked. (when screen is off, yes, those are disabled)
To add to that, a locked screen should not permit anyone from enabling/disabling WiFi/BT/MobileData etc - but Android 5.0 lets them.
For me when the screen is locked the volume keys appear to work.
I'll have to test this again.

a ROM or completely stock?
Stock ROM.
Found out what the issue is. I've got a new case on my phone and it activates the smart lock when it closes..
Looks like as its new its not closing tight so the screen is still on and the volume keys work.
If I make sure its shut tight its fine.

Black screen when pressing home button.

Hi, everyone. So I have a XT1032 8gb and I've recently flashed the new Paranoid Android 5.1 ROM. The Android version is 5.1.1 and Paranoid Version is 5.1.
The problem is that when I'm using Gravity Screen Pro and I press the home button on any app, menu or whatever, the screen goes black and the only things showing are the notification bar and the toggles shade, as well as the navigation bar.
Now, problem is that no matter what I press, or try to go, the phone won't respond. I try to use the cog icon to go into settings, but the phone won't so anything.
The only way to fix it is by turning the screen off and on again, but when I press the home button again, the problems reoccurs. When I turn Gravity Screen Pro off, the phone works like a charm, but this is a must-have app for me ?. Any help will very greatly appreciated guys. I'm desperate. Thank you.

Broken Power Button - App/ROM to reduce its usage

Hello all,
My N5 has its power button weared down. These last two days I wasnt able to turn it on because of the classic boot loop.
How can I prevent this?
I currently installed Gravity Screen to reduce power button usage to the minimum. I like how it unlocks my phone (movemente and proximity sensor work fine) but locking it doesnt seem very convenient as it doesnt support shakelock or double tap or gestures.
I'd like some app or ROM that enables me to lock my phone with a shake and unlocks it in the same fashion (or a double tap on the screen like the opo cellphone).
Are there any options?
Thanks

Any way to keep gestures when using dual screen?

Hi! So I'm using the V500M model in the UK with the android 10 beta. I like using the new gestures to navigate but the damn dual screen keeps swapping back to the 3 button design whenever I turn it on. Is there any way to prevent that from happening? It doesn't swap if I use the back button + gestures option but I want the pure gestures for navigation.
