how do i cancel the forced ota 4.4.2 update? i didnt install it yet

the file just downloaded to my device, probably becose wifi was open and the ota was downloaded to my device.
untill now i just press the 3 hours dismissed butten, but i want to cancel it for now.

If you have titanium backup, search in TB for "software update" and freeze it.

i dont have root so i cant use it, any other idea? thanks

Maybe delete the downloaded file? It's probably in the download folder.

its not there, its probably in hiden partition.

Go in the notification panel.. (slide down) then long press the update in notification.. it will direct you to application manager... Tap Clear Data and youre done...

No need for factory reset. Just clear the data in the application manager and turn off check for update in the settings.

where are you coping? in the sd card you cant but in the internal memory it is possible

Sorry but you need to update with the ota, then use my tool to root it.
You can't use this if you are still in 5.0.1, if you try to do it, you will get security error bootloop

we can try to update pushing the ota file in /cache/fota and running some code.... send me a pm

I bought a att gophone prepaid sim card and I still can't get the OTA. I have reset the phone numerous times, change the dates, etc. Just always says no updates available, try again. If there is another way to get the update, I'm all ears,

I'm having trouble getting this to work. The drivers seem to be installed fine. Debugging mode is enabled. The tool detects the phone and reboots it, but then instructs me to reboot it into download mode manually. After rebooting to download mode manually and connecting the phone, nothing happens. Any ideas?

I am seeing the same problem. The Firmware Update progress % stays at zero and in about 30 seconds I see the ##. Pull the USB cord and reinsert, hit space bar to continue, see progress % briefly go to 100% then reboots but no root afterwards.

Did you copy the rootedsystem.img in your internal memory?

Yes it is copied to the internal memory root. If I remove it, the symptoms stay the same. So it appears as though the rooting app is not seeing the image file.

Did you unzip the file (rootedsystem.img.gz 1.6Gb)?

Can somebody fix the download link for the 11z image. It just sits there displaying "loading". Thanks.

Some people can't live without root ... or Wait few days for it
If you want root for v11Z so make a system backup, and ulpoad it

Uninstall TWRP and Root

How do I uninstall TWRP and unroot my Honor 8 so I can update to nougat. I have FRD-L04 EMUI 4.1

When it says your device cannot be trusted on boot, just hold down volume up (not before that warning comes up), then select download and install latest package. Your phone will be relocked and everything will be stock.

Yes, everything will be like how Huawei had it before you installed anything.

No for some reason when you hold it while on the warning screen it will bring up Huawei's E-Recovery instead of TWRP where he can download their firmware and the phone doing everything to restore it. I don't know why it does this, but you can also see it in action too with your phone. I accidentally did it when I installed TWRP at first, held it down and then it brought up E-Recovery instead of TWRP, but holding power and volume up before the warning screen brings up TWRP.
I guess Huawei wanted you to always be able to restore your phone if everything got corrupted.

But one thing that puzzles me is that there are all these complicated threads and methods about relocking and going to stock when it is so simple to use the E-Recovery, do they not know this method?

Most certainly it will.
So rule #1 applies: Always make a backup to your external microSD card.

Use the rollback package from Huawei
There is also a instruction how to rollback.
But you neer a external sd card for it.
Just search for it here in the forum or on the Website it self
Here is a small instruction but first make sure which model you have (frd-09/04....) The second and third post i think

you will have to re-root after the update (for me i had to)
with b380 i have flashed the modified boot.img (b378), flashed twrp 3.1.0.0, and after reboot the phph superuser on playstore . it works well.

Yeah got this update two days ago, My battery lasts longer now love it. I sold my galaxy S7 Edge, I felt it was a let down phone for me. Using my honor 8 full time till I get me a better phone. This will always be my go to phone..

I am hoping I get it for my phone soon.

I have the same problem. I try using the stock recovery and also stock boot.
img, but in stock recovery an error occurs while checking the update.zip. It always delete the files for the update and after booting the system the update downloaded by the system again. After five tries I don't try it again.
Are there any possibilities to install this update without wiping the whole system?

With all due respect, there hasn't really been a new ROM since December, Huawei won't release the code so we can take their spyware out.

Update B360 on B380 without downgrade to MM.
1. Turn on FF and search for updates.
2. Set the proxy to localhost 8080.
3. In FF select B380 OTA-MF (383MB) and do not download only send to updater.
4. Go to system update tab and select the last full package. The system will find a full package with a long name of over 2GB.
5. Select the next find the last full package. Now the system should show the package about 400MB with the normal version name. Do not download!
6. Go to proxy settings and disable them.
7. Go back to the update tab and start downloading.
Should download, update. You have the B380 version.
After a few minutes after the update, the phone is standing on the start screen for a few minutes, waiting patiently.

I have a problem with my oppo find X2 pro cph2025 and I installed the beta of Android 11 and I would like to go back to Android 10 and install the official version. I've tried everything and still haven't been able to do it. if someone helps me I would be delighted

Hello, I'm in the same position. I have wiped the phone and tried to rollback but I keep getting an 'installation failed' message. Any attempt to install from download folder gives me a 'failed to extract. File corrupt' If anyone's out there with an idea how to rollback successful then please let us know. Thank you in advance.

You need to first format data via recovery. This will decrypt your internal storage.
You then need to download this file https://fsopen.coloros.com/3/oppoww...0810_all_EI2gpIrAinVK-roll-findx2-mp9-ex.ozip and place it on the root of your internal storage.
Reboot to recovery and flash. Ignore the fact it says CPH2023. Several people including me have flashed this and got off the Android 11 beta. After you flash, you need to download and flash this https://mega.nz/file/KAcVGY7C#Kld16kGyDUOn1yUD9BYIoKH4IZUrgSUIj7HB5Je-r08 otherwise, you’ll be stuck on the A.31 update until the end of time. Plus the A.31 update is not play store certified - so Netflix etc wont download. The mega link above is for A.41.
So just to reiterate, format data, boot phone, skip the setup process, download the first link, place on root of internal storage, reboot to recovery, flash, skip through the setup process, download the second link and repeat...

Okay so, step by step.
1. Turn off phone
2. Boot to recovery
3. Once in recovery, format data (if you're on the Android 11 Beta)
4. Once formatted, reboot.
5. Download the first link above.
6. Once downloaded, move to the root of your internal storage.
7. Once moved, reboot to recovery.
8. Install from internal storage.
9. Once installed, reboot.
10. Skip through the setup process.
11. Delete the previous software file to save confusion.
12. Download the second link above and move to the root of your internal storage.
13. Power off and boot to recovery.
14. Install from internal storage.
15. Select the file you downloaded secondly.
16. Reboot and go through the setup process as you normally would.
17. Enjoy!

The region setting has been removed mate. I believe it was removed in A.38.

Did you roll back to A.31? I think the A.31 update had no meaningful use and only served a purpose to roll back beta participants to Android 10. I remember updating to A.38 (Vodafone UK) and the option to change region was removed.
Changing region won't be a "thing" anymore in future updates from Oppo.
