I'll try, but I think I'm gonna use this beta forever, **** me....

I was close to installing this on my P9, but with so many people having issues reverting back to marshmallow, I think I'll wait for the OTA update.

I have Downgraded just now (batery drain problems) without problems, steps:
* (locked bootloader)
1-. Download B136 full rom and put dload folder to an external microSD
2-. restart mobile phone in recovery (vol up + power) and wipe all (system - data + cache)
3-. power down the mobile phone
4-. insert external sdcard
5-. power on the phone with 3 buttons pressed
6-. Wait to install
7-. Working, update to 166

Where can i found the B130 version ? Btw, my phone was a branded one, and other memebers of xda think that this is the problem...

Successful downgrade only happen for L09? I'm using L19 C636B150 before upgraded to nougat. What happen now is I fail to downgrade, error at 51%, wether with B150 or B168, any suggestion?

What do u mean with full? Off course its full, downloaded from official links, but still failed

exist 2 types of roms, OTA and Full, sure that you use a Full one.

I suggest you to don't try this beta, it's way too far to be a stable release. You are now on C432, but if you update your cust will become a C900, which means your phone will not receive automatic updates anymore. I personally had some trouble with files trying to downgrade from N to MM, but if you want to try this, just download the package and apply the update with dload method.

I was on the exact same version and updated to it and I have been using it for two weeks so your wrong about it not be stable enough. It has been very good as a daily driver considering it is still a beta

-notifications bug (quick reply button locks the screen)
-no Google drive sync
-can't change notifications sounds from settings
-HiCare doesn't work
-ID Huawei doesn't work
-HiCare wakes up every tot minutes and drain battery
-BetaClub app notifications could be annoying
-in Google Maps doesn't work public transport section (it doesn't find any bus or train)
-Facebook crashes when you try to open a page or a profile (but works with groups)
-B136 awful icon style
-camera lag
-pebble smartwatches disconnect every tot minutes and don't receive notifications anymore until phone reboot (don't know if is only a pebble problem or it's the same with Android Wear devices)
-translations are not complete (I had some settings written in english when I had Italian as system language)
...
Those are some of the problem i had with this N beta release...not so stable for daily use at all, at least not for me.

Thanks for your replies. I've decided to wait to next beta release, and see what gets fixed.

no problem, I think andree had a bad install of the beta as mine didn't even experience half of these issues he is reporting. maybe he didn't do a clean install of the beta like I did.

Cannot Download L29C636B172OTA through Firmware Finder

Hello everyone,
Saw the MHA-L29C636B172 OTA on firmware finder for about 10 days now but it can't download (just stays stuck on 0%). Tried WiFi and mobile.
Was hoping I'll get the OTA on my phone (I check about 4 times a day) but nothing yet.
I'm in Malaysia, is there anything I can do to get it early?

I think you should just wait for the OTA and stop obsessing about it. Don't go around flashing stuff from dubious sources.

First off, is firmware finder legit? Cos in the post above, he mentioned dubious sources, but i want to believe it is cos a lot of people here recommended it severally.
Secondly, in firmware finder, it is 657MB but when I sent to Huawei updater it now reads 2.02GB.

To be honest I'm not sure, but my best guess is that those Fw are for internal testing before being released for the public.
The safest way is of course to wait for the official update.
Tried the same thing as you just now. Was around 2GB.
Chances are it will fail at the authentication and not authorised. But hey, maybe it's just me.

I tried download the zip file and follow the instructions. However, for the first step, it always fails after rebooting and starting updating the system. It fails pretty quickly. I don't know why .. I have the update.app under dload on my sdcard.

It fails signature verification. I guess we'll have to wait for it to hit the carriers for us to update.

Maybe they have began rolling out updates. It depends on region and also carrier.
I'm in Malaysia on Maxis and I'm yet to get it. Hopefully by the end of the week.

How to install new B381 firmware on rooted B380

Hi guys,
FF shows brand new firmware B381. did anyone know, how to install on rooted Honor 8 with B380 firmware and TWRP.?

now i try to download and install

Strange that the date of the B381 build is 06.03.2017, whereas it only got released yesterday. It's probably not going to be worth the hassle.

There nothing strange about this.
Often the case the dates of data or OS is older then the release dates, so there nothing strange about this statement.

True, but previously the build and release dates were close . According to the build date this soft is only 4 days younger than B380, but it's been published on the server over a month later which the small bump in the version number seems to confirm.

Hi Guys ,
i am using FRD-L19C432
it came with B131 , and i used FF to upgrade to B360 , things were fine .. i thought i would go to B380 , but everytime i download and install it , system stays at B360 , so i rolled back to B131 today ... and i need your help because i feel kinda lost how to proceed.
1- should i go from B131 to B380 ?? or B381 directly ?
2- is there a way to flash the firmware from SD ? everytime i try that it fails at 5 % ( incompatibility issues ) .. i am sure i got the correct firmware.
so every time i want to try something , i have to download using FF , which is not that fast ..
please give me a hint , how to proceed.
3- i am lost in the updates too some are FULL OTA MF , others have another letters like PV .. what are those ?

Just an FYI, I was able to flash L04-B360 from TWRP. YMMV of course, as to whether that works with this update.

B131 - B381 via charles not working here (all looks good until it reboots, then fail to verifying update package)

It may be because you flashed it manually. And unless we have rollback package for your model you may not be able to rollback to MM. Are you planning to install custom ROM or want to be on stock rom only.
Updater is not there means tou wont get OTA bit test build wont impact anything.
You may need to flash the oeminfo of your model as well.

I want to update to Nougat, cant find my build number in firmware finder list.
Fb group admin (also member here...) suggested to download a B 370 package.
I want to ask will it work for B160?
Also, any link to step by step instructions for update? Sorry, non tech person here...
Note: if i click to dl a package from Firmware finder, it shows dl as a zip file. Once download is complete, then what?

I would advise to wait for official OTA (as you got the phone yesterday) but if you really want to do it-
Download this- http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1279/g104/v82620/f2/full/update.zip
and this http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...cseas/update_data_full_BLL-L22_hw_spcseas.zip
Flash first file and boot to system. Then 2nd and boot.
You need to use dload method as below
Unzip 1st file and extract the package. You will get few files including update.app.
Few suggest to use only update.app file but I would advise, based on my personal experience for all dload method I tried, use all the files.
Create a folder dload under SD card and copy all the files to this folder.
Power off the phone. Remove USB cable, if connected.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button (3 keys together)
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 2-3 minutes so do not panic.
Repeat the same with 2nd zip file.

Is it normal for my build # not to have nougat update yet?....

Yes it is normal. Update may pop up anytime. Have you inserted the SIM yet? If not, putting the SIM may help. Also it may take upto a week for your phone to register and get update.

Thank you for your Welcome Shashank I hope to learn alot from the XDA Forum and you, since this is my 1st Android phone o).
I had not inserted the SIM before, since I'm still learning how the phone works and was playing around with the GR 5 17 without the SIM.
I have inserted the SIM and just like you said; I got an update from the Settings menu.
I am downloading update : BLL-L22C636B360 as we speak.
I am worried since I read on this thread that it might have some problems....
I will post an update once completed.

Don't worry, download and install it. If there is any issue you may download further updates. There will few more if your model has it. I got a phone couple of days back amd got 3 updates(different model though)

I have downloaded the B360 update. As you mentioned, I have received another update and am now on : Build number ~: BLL-L22C636B384 , EMUI : 5.0.1, Android : 7.0
Things seem to be working fine for now.
I wanted to ask you about any good Dark theme for the GR5-17.
Do you suggest from the Huawei themes (built in) or from :EMUI theme factory? (an app I dl from PlayStore.

You are lucky mate, but my device didn't get the update yet(Device is rooted).

Hey no problem if the device is rooted the warranty for hardware will be disconnect but u have warranty on software soo sure u will get the update before the month end

As far as i know rooted phones will not get OTA. You have to manually flash update.zip and root again, because rooting needs bootloader unlock and will not recognise the device in update server. I guess you have to wait for manual update zip...?

I haven't recieved the update yet on my phone. Can someone let me know why so much difference in time for receiving update in same country. Also can someone post the full changelog for the update as it show more than 1gb on one off the photos

I shared B151 update to Firmware Finder using "share firmware" option.
Now you can directly install and update from there.

Thank you. Will check in FF app. Btw, how come the update is about 1gb in size with such a small change log? If you have already updated, do you have any ideas if they have some under the hood changes which they have not mentioned? Just curious.

Never rooted.. Never unlocked.. Stock recovery

You will get OTA on rooted phone but it wont install. Even just replacing the recovery wont help as your stock boot is modified while root. you need to flash the stock boot as well before you will be able to update via OTA.

Stock phone
Never rooted
Never changed recovery
Never unlocked bootloader
Ota is broke or non-existent
Support sucks.
Great phone if you never want updates
Bug fixes or new features.
These are as is throw away phones.

Simply uninstall magisk from magisk manager will restore boot and unroot phone.
