I'll try, but I think I'm gonna use this beta forever, **** me....
I was close to installing this on my P9, but with so many people having issues reverting back to marshmallow, I think I'll wait for the OTA update.

3-. power down the mobile phone
4-. insert external sdcard
5-. power on the phone with 3 buttons pressed
6-. Wait to install
7-. Working, update to 166

I suggest you to don't try this beta, it's way too far to be a stable release. You are now on C432, but if you update your cust will become a C900, which means your phone will not receive automatic updates anymore. I personally had some trouble with files trying to downgrade from N to MM, but if you want to try this, just download the package and apply the update with dload method.

-notifications bug (quick reply button locks the screen)
-no Google drive sync

-HiCare doesn't work
-ID Huawei doesn't work
-HiCare wakes up every tot minutes and drain battery
-BetaClub app notifications could be annoying
-in Google Maps doesn't work public transport section (it doesn't find any bus or train)
-Facebook crashes when you try to open a page or a profile (but works with groups)
-B136 awful icon style
-camera lag
-pebble smartwatches disconnect every tot minutes and don't receive notifications anymore until phone reboot (don't know if is only a pebble problem or it's the same with Android Wear devices)
-translations are not complete (I had some settings written in english when I had Italian as system language)
...
Those are some of the problem i had with this N beta release...not so stable for daily use at all, at least not for me.
Thanks for your replies. I've decided to wait to next beta release, and see what gets fixed.

It has pc version and phone application from playstore.
With this application you can update your phone and it's working 100%

So you have try this and it works?
If yes you do it with Android app from playstore or from pc?

It's in test version, but if you want maybe try:
Open firmware finder on pc ,start firmware update and copy the link for the firmware you want to flash, the link should be like http:..../..../f1/
And click start the server.
On your phone connect to the same wifi as ur pc,go to wifi settings, click and hold on the connected network, you will see advance settings, fill ip same as the ip of ur pc and port same as the one in firmware finder.
Once done go to update in phone settings and check for updates, you should see a new firmware update.
Hope you will understand.

yeah did that several times , the latest huawei device i had was the mate 7 , i didn't know they locked the update process via the dload method, i wouldn't allowed my gf to buy this phone if i knew , i thought i would be able to fix it quickly but oh well she'll just have to return it, one more reason to make me happy that i opted for the pixel xl instead of the mate 9

Ok, selected the ota not full B138 it updated, the security patch is december, ank kernel info date also december, but why it shows 126 instead of 138?
Maybe it just updated minor things not the full system?
And after update i do not notice anything.

You don't have to download the update in firmware finder, you only need to activate the server update in firmware finder and change the proxy, after that you go to system update and check for updates.
Today i have receive update info by ota from server Huawei (420mb)
Optimize battery use.
Root and twrp i can use after flash ?
Thanks
you will have to re-root after the update (for me i had to)
with b380 i have flashed the modified boot.img (b378), flashed twrp 3.1.0.0, and after reboot the phph superuser on playstore . it works well.
Yeah got this update two days ago, My battery lasts longer now love it. I sold my galaxy S7 Edge, I felt it was a let down phone for me. Using my honor 8 full time till I get me a better phone. This will always be my go to phone..

I have the same problem. I try using the stock recovery and also stock boot.
img, but in stock recovery an error occurs while checking the update.zip. It always delete the files for the update and after booting the system the update downloaded by the system again. After five tries I don't try it again.
Are there any possibilities to install this update without wiping the whole system?

Update B360 on B380 without downgrade to MM.
1. Turn on FF and search for updates.
2. Set the proxy to localhost 8080.
3. In FF select B380 OTA-MF (383MB) and do not download only send to updater.
4. Go to system update tab and select the last full package. The system will find a full package with a long name of over 2GB.
5. Select the next find the last full package. Now the system should show the package about 400MB with the normal version name. Do not download!
6. Go to proxy settings and disable them.
7. Go back to the update tab and start downloading.
Should download, update. You have the B380 version.
After a few minutes after the update, the phone is standing on the start screen for a few minutes, waiting patiently.

Hi all
My honor 8 just arrived yesterday,
Turned it on and it prompted me for a software update and it went in to a boot-loop.
Not sure what fw it was on before the update, also unsure what version it was upgrading to.
Later found out trough fastboot that it is (FRD-L19C636B386).
Tried to factory reset (no luck)
Tried eRecovery method, keeps showing (Getting package info failed)
Tried the 3 finger method with FRD-L19C636B380, keeps showing (Software install failed Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore)
Tried to flash trough fastboot, unfortunately it can't be done without unlocking the bootloader.
Wanted to unlock the bootloader but seems like it requires the phone to be able to boot to OS before I can get the unlock code.
Anyone having the same issue or have other alternatives/solutons for me to try?
Cheers!
Try rollback package

I just checked the fastboot mode it says:
Phone Locked
FRP Lock
1. what to do to unlock bootloader?
2. Whats happening now is, the "Honor" logo boots twice then goes to Huawei eRecovery. Under eRecovery it has option "Download latest version and recovery" > "Download and recovery" > "Starting WIFI failed". Actually I can connect to wifi earlier and this what happens to the eRecovery "Getting package info failed". But now it CANT connect to the wifi.
3. I tried the firmware rollback but it didnt help

I think PV filenames is for twrp. I just read that updating to b380 you need to rollback to b120 which is marshmallow then jump to b380. As long as i can return it to my stock b360 Im fine with it. I will just wait for Oreo or OTA update without using FF since this issue is driving me nuts. It's just 5 day old phone n this already happened. My download is still at 50% very frustrating download speed

It may be because you flashed it manually. And unless we have rollback package for your model you may not be able to rollback to MM. Are you planning to install custom ROM or want to be on stock rom only.
Updater is not there means tou wont get OTA bit test build wont impact anything.
You may need to flash the oeminfo of your model as well.

Hi.
Bought gr 5 '17 yesterday. Running MM.
I want to update to Nougat, cant find my build number in firmware finder list.
Fb group admin (also member here...) suggested to download a B 370 package.
I want to ask will it work for B160?
Also, any link to step by step instructions for update? Sorry, non tech person here...
Note: if i click to dl a package from Firmware finder, it shows dl as a zip file. Once download is complete, then what?
Thanks in Advance.

I would advise to wait for official OTA (as you got the phone yesterday) but if you really want to do it-
Download this- http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1279/g104/v82620/f2/full/update.zip
and this http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...cseas/update_data_full_BLL-L22_hw_spcseas.zip
Flash first file and boot to system. Then 2nd and boot.
You need to use dload method as below
Unzip 1st file and extract the package. You will get few files including update.app.
Few suggest to use only update.app file but I would advise, based on my personal experience for all dload method I tried, use all the files.
Create a folder dload under SD card and copy all the files to this folder.
Power off the phone. Remove USB cable, if connected.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button (3 keys together)
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 2-3 minutes so do not panic.
Repeat the same with 2nd zip file.
Good luck. Happy Flashing.

Thank you very much for the detailed instructions and links.
I think I will take your advice and wait for OTA update.
As mentioned, I am not too 'tech' and am worried might do the wrong thing.
Is it normal for my build # not to have nougat update yet?....
I will bookmark this post and report back in a week. Hopefully I will have an update by then.
Thank you again shashank1320

You welcome. Welcome to XDA and tech stuff.
Yes it is normal. Update may pop up anytime. Have you inserted the SIM yet? If not, putting the SIM may help. Also it may take upto a week for your phone to register and get update.
Regards,
Shashank

Thank you for your Welcome Shashank I hope to learn alot from the XDA Forum and you, since this is my 1st Android phone o).
I had not inserted the SIM before, since I'm still learning how the phone works and was playing around with the GR 5 17 without the SIM.
I have inserted the SIM and just like you said; I got an update from the Settings menu.
I am downloading update : BLL-L22C636B360 as we speak.
I am worried since I read on this thread that it might have some problems....
I will post an update once completed.
I am excited to learn more about Android from the XDA Forum, and how I can keep my GR 5 17 in the best condition.
Thank you again for your support Shashank. Stay Well

I have downloaded the B360 update. As you mentioned, I have received another update and am now on : Build number ~: BLL-L22C636B384 , EMUI : 5.0.1, Android : 7.0
Things seem to be working fine for now.
I wanted to ask you about any good Dark theme for the GR5-17.
Do you suggest from the Huawei themes (built in) or from :EMUI theme factory? (an app I dl from PlayStore.
Thank you, Stay Well
Hello,
i performed upgrade of firmware (official) of honor 8 pro (from B183 to B185), but during the update it wrote installation failed. Now i have only blue welcome screen of honor, phone cant be switched off, only restarts.
I tried to plug in the charger and enter recovery mode, tried to download the latest version, but it again failed to load info about update.
I tried to wipout cache. Didnt help
I tried to switch phone with volume +- and power button together to install it, but after 5% it stopedd with fail again.
I tried to connect usb cable and perform instal again, only change the graphics from emui logo to USB logo, but again after 5% it failed.¨
I also downloaded former version (before update, B183) and upload it to sd card, but i am not able to run update from sd card.
Do you have any suggestions what to do?
It seems that i am not only one, with this problem and it is probaby the problem with european version.
Only thing i didnt performed is factory reset, but i dont want to unless is necesary.
Thank you
Jan

****, i am trying to download B183 stock version, should be 1,7 GB but after download it is 4,34 GB...too big. Where can we find B185 version? I cant find it.
Which version did you tried do you have link? Are you sure you used correct version for Europe/Asia/Russia?

Yes, i use europe version DUK-L09C432B183 as a stock release from XDA. We need to remember that this update change firmware to ...b185 thats why theres no compatibility.

How flagship phone dont have support by HiSuite to make reinstallation? Even any way to back to older version when something gone wrong.

It seems that in Czech republic lot of people have same problem, i already have response from EMUI, but it is only recomendation to find local service (WTF) and from official Honor CZ facebook, that they are checking the situation. On phone support, they tell me that i am not the only one, and should visit the service center.
I need solution, how to fix it and not loose data on my phone.
I'am from Poland, we dont have service. I dont have a time to send phone and wait 2-3weeks. I think i few days people from XDA or other sosaity make something to fix it.

Still we don´t have any news regarding the software here in Czech.
The same here in the Netherlands, the update as available yesterday and till now the phone is dead, i tried everything!
If this is a firmware problem , what we should expect, any opinion?
Cause yesterday i realize that some Vmall stores are not available anymore, like here in hollland , so basically there's no support...
What to do ?????

Seems we have to wait until the official release of software will be, the problem appears big so far. Everyone who upload the software has the same problem.

Need wait. Should work if this gonna be official release. For now this is one fu**ing ****.
I've got same problem, the B185 new version was available this morning for me (in france) that failed like everybody here, and I tried factory reset but it failed too.
Huawei sucks, I dont understand why they didn't stop upgrade propagation...
Same in NL
Same problem here. Recovery through hisuite on pc also failing. Luckily I only had the phone for a week and I can return it for a new one. Won't be updating this (yet to arrive) new one any time soon.....
