Download the shortcut maker from playstore, run it and you can get into setting. The fingerprint id might show up in one of the settings. You can then use it through this shortcut.

Thanks for the idea I tried but it won't work still it gives an error

I tried it in my mate 8 and it works. However the fingering id is also on my settings. I wonder if some rom does not have the fingering id. You might try to update to another rom.

I just bought the phone used I think the scanner is broken so I'm going to swap or return it

My fingerprint scanner disappeared from my setting about a month after I got the phone . Support was of no help. resetting phone did not work. Any Suggestions? Thank You.

You should try and flash c185b180 stock ROM, that should have all the stock settings
Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using XDA-Developers Legacy app

Its not a firmware problem. Probably ID hardware haven't connection with motherboard so it missing from settings. Open phone and CHECK EVERY TAPE. It should work because if you unmount tape from ID SCANNER and then go to settings there will be nothing about FINGERPRINT SCANNER.

This is rediciloius some of u peoples remedy , this problem is due to a kernel issue with the security , complete wipe and. Reinstall a os ....Or just try to factory reset it . I do not know why people ha
Be to be so stupid and do a run around. S

Hi. I bought a new case for my mate 8. My phone is nxt-l29c185 but the case I bought is for al10. The fingerprint sensor on the new case is not working and fingerprint id in the settings has disappeared lately. When I attached old case fingerprint sensor is working but I attached new case sensor is not working. What can I do for this problem. Is there a solution for this problem or sensor on the new case is broke.

Fingerprint id missing on my huawei p10 lite help me i cant see fingerprint options.

Issues with oneplus one after resetting it

Hi. So recently with my oneplus one I have been having issues (location services not working, text messages not sending/relieving, and mobile data acting up a bit). I decided to perform a factory reset because I figured this would probably be the best way to just start over fresh and possibly resolve some of the issues. Most of the issues were fixed, however I was incredibly disappointed when I went into my settings. Half of the options that I could once modify before I reset the device were now gone! To name a few: the notification bar brightness slider, the vibrator intensity setting, the hardware button brightness, the customized screen colors, and the customized lock screen shortcuts..and that's just to name a few of the important ones. I'm wondering what's going on! Is there any way to get these settings back on my oneplus one? Has anyone else had this issue? Is it because of the cyanogen fallout? It's really frustrating. I didn't realize how much I took those amazing settings for granted. I would have just dealt with the issues if I'd known this would happen. Let me know if anyone has any idea..i would be so so appreciative.
Don't know if its the same thing but there is an advance mode in about phone in settings that allows more modifications to be made.

I believe factory reset wipes everything in your phone, even your files in the storage[emoji20]

I transfered some photos via Bluetooth and it won't show in the gallery app. Usually the gallery app will show it (before factory reset)

Are you sure that you signed in with the same email as before? Mine were all saved under the email that I used. Otherwise I'm not sure. Sorry! In the future I'd always recommend downloading Dropbox and turning on the automatic camera upload synching so if anything ever happens you'll still have them forever.
flash via ADB?

Locked out of the phone - Lenovo S60-A

Hello,
a friend of mine has put a pattern lock on her phone today, and she has forgotten it. She doesn't have WiFi nor data on, and you can't simply drop down the notification bar and turn it on from there. I even called her in an attempt to get to the settings from the call menu, but she has some sort of touch protection enabled so you can't get to the bar either. I know we could reset the whole phone from recovery, but she has got photos and contacts there and we would like to back up them. Also USB debugging is off so it's not showing in the adb. Thanks for the effort in advance.
Didn't she have sync enabled?
No she doesn't. I think I'll factory reset it and try to recover as many photos with DigDeeper as possible.

Disable lock screen

Hello all. I have a problem. I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to set my lock screen to 'None'. I've tried:
Disabling fingerprints and fingerprint unlock,
Disabling smart unlock and any trusted agents
Disabling and uninstalling Android Pay and Android Wallet,
Disabling NFC,
I have no VPNs
I have no administrators enabled,
I have cleared my credential storage,
powered off my phone and powered it back on
I do not have any encryption enabled
and still 'None' is grayed out with the "Disabled by Administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage" message.
I just can't think of anything else to try in order to disable the lockscreen. Can anyone please help me?:crying: Thank you for anyone help anyone can offer. I'm desparate!
You seem to have tried everything. Only thing else I can think of is I know sometimes if apps are allowed draw over others, the phone can block some security settings.
Just a suggestion, but if you go into your apps in settings and change it there, maybe it'll work
All I can suggest then is a factory reset unfortunately, I cannot think of anything else to change
Sorry I couldn't be of more help
Draw over other apps
Should I disable Draw over other apps for every app in the list or any one in particular?

We have this issue on our Honor 8. It's my son's phone so I can't test possible solutions. One I read was to remove all credentials. Since I don't have the phone, I have no idea where credentials are. Another I read said to create a pattern lock and a pin emergency lock. Use the WRONG pattern 5 times or until it requires the back-up pin. Enter back-up pin then the "none" choice returned. It will be a few more weeks before I have access to the phone. If either works, please report back.

Active Phone Call App Disappearing?

I am new to the OnePlus 8 on T-Mobile and I am having an issue where when on an active call the phone app completely disappears. Sometime i can find it again in the notification area and other times I cant find the active call at all. This makes it very difficult to switch to speakerphone or even hang up the call. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? I have never had this happen on an android phone before .
Thanks!
Are you using apps for notification LED ? like NotifyBuddy or similar ? i use this app and the phone goes all black and found it difficult sometimes.
Isnt the Phone app visible in Recent Apps list ?
for the time being unless someone really helps you solve the problem, you can enable Power Button Ends the call option from Accessibility settings to end Call easily with Power Button.
I am not using any LED apps. The suggestion about the accessibility option to end the call is a good one until I figure more out. Thanks for that tip!

I had the same problem. After talking to OnePlus technical service they recommended me to do a factory reset from the recovery menu. I did it and never had the problem again.
Hope it helps you.

Thanks. Did you do any sort of restore after the reset or did you manually install al your apps, etc.?

Yes. Before the reset, I made a backup of the phone (the one that appears in the settings) that is stored in your Google Drive to be able to restore it later.

Great. I will give that a try. Thank you!
FYI - That reset seemed to fix my issue as well. Must have been a carryover from my old phone causing the issue. Thank you for the tip again!

Question upgrade + finger print

On Friday I updated my rog pgone 5 to the latest version. yesterday suddenly the fingerprint sensor stopped working, restart the factory mobile and solve it, but at 24 hours the same thing happened again.
does anyone know what happens?
Seems to be a common issue. A log when it happens may help to find a fix.
There is a lot of log spam to dig through, so I wasn't able to pull one on-the-fly

I don't have a fix without knowing the issue, hence suggesting a log.
Looks like a missing vendor style xml, unless that's a unique issue.

I have been able to solve it, I did a system erase + deactivate facial recognition + fingerprint. turn off the device, turn it on again, turn everything on again and restart. for now it works. When I charge the phone, I hope it won't happen again. (After charging the phone, it gets quite hot and the sensor stops working.)
Alright, well good luck with that.

today I have recharged the mobile and again with the same. but now I don't even have the option to activate or deactivate the sensor.
How can I install or restore the vendor style xml file?
