Huawei any good at honoring their warranty? - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Anyone have any experience with Huawei and having a handset repaired or replaced?
Just came across the image below and would love to know if I can count on having a 2 year warranty (regardless if purchased online), 1 year screen replacement, plus door to door service. From the comments they say you just need to hang on to your receipt and it'll be honored. If true, they should advertise this a whole lot more imo.

Huawei`s warranty is fine afaik, its some service centers that try to rip off their costumers. Like in the Netherlands we have Dynafix wich is the only certified Huawei servicecenter and it has a realy bad reputation. They try to charge people even if they have warranty and the percentage of alledged mositure related defects is disturbingly high and very questionable.

That's the sort of thing I'm afraid of. Guess it's a crap shoot.

@op: where did you find that pic? When I go into the app the screen replacement thing is only for 3 months instead of 1 year.
Or maybe it's different per country?

I'm not on Facebook and since I live in Belgium I can't access Facebook without an account either. But I guess the Facebook post was made for non-EU users? For EU warranty on electronic devices is 2 years standard, but Huawei offers 3 years in my case. Also the 1 on 1 service is also only 3 months. So there are small differences.
I do own the EU version of the phone.

lg warranty info

I bought this phone used from craigslist and do not have service for it currently.
is my warranty still valid?
who would I contact if something decides to break?

NO. There is no warranty. To obtain warranty service you must prove you bought your phone through an authorized channel. Craigslist and eBay are specifically excluded from warranty coverage.

can you state some sources? I doubt this doesn't have a warranty
Here is the applicable text from the warranty.
(2) The limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product
and is not assignable or transferable to any subsequent purchaser/end user.
So if you bought it second hand on Craigslist or through a gray market reseller, there is no warranty.
Applicable warranty pages attached.

Ok, so if i was able to get the original owner to call in would that work?
Would they even ask me if i was the original owner?
I believe i should have the right to a warranty

maybe you should of made this title hey how do i scam into a warranty.
boxer told you and showed you in writing that if you buy from an unauthorized dealer or second hand there is no manufacturers warranty.
is it right or fair maybe not but it is what it is.
Due to how you bought the phone you do not have a warranty.
If you have the original buyer say he still has the phone and gets it warrantied that would probably work.
I hate to break this to everyone, but based on what I have observed and after reading about the experiences of others... I don't think any of us have a functional warranty, regardless of where we obtained our G2xs.

dont know about functional but definaltey dysfunctional
In my experience, LG makes good washers and dryers. Maybe that should've gave me pause to think before I bought this phone.
I believe you'd still have warranty through LG, just not T-Mobile, which is a bummer.

ya no kidding. After getting several G2X's with screen-bleed problem I called LG trying to get them to fix / replace it bia the warranty. Making a LONG story short - they wouldn't honor the warranty because "all the G2X's have that problem" !!! Is that f-ed up or what! They're all defective so they wont fix...hahahaha. Last thing I ever by from LG for sure.

It's LG poor part choice, I remember my Zune, the OLED screen would actually light up when black in certian spots, it was very annoying. Almost every phone has it's weak spot. But what i'm concerned about is the charge port breaking, it looks very vulnerable being so thin
Just another side note. There is also a big section in the user manual's and the warranty that says if you install a non official OS the warranty is also void. So by default, 99% of anyone reading this on this forum would have no warranty even if they were the original purchaser. Yea, if you can return it to stock you should be ok, but if your beyond that you'd be screwed. I bought mine second hand and had it sent to me in Bangkok. So I knew I would have no warranty coverage here regardless of what I did with the phone (which is still stock as I haven't seen any reason to root it yet).

Technically, the warranty is not by Google - it is by LG. Google will handle returns/replacements within the first 15 days.
According to LG, the warranty is for 12 months for the original purchaser.

Sorry - can't say because I haven't tried it. I suspect it will be ok if you have original receipt since all LG would really care about is the purchase date to figure out whether it is still under warranty or not, but I don't know if they will check purchaser name as well. You could check with Google/LG to be sure, but I'm pretty sure they will give you the legal answer
Just out of curiosity, why are you buying from ebay instead of the play store? Is it significantly cheaper there? I just glanced thru' some of the postings there and they all seem to be selling over $400 (buy it now)

The price in the Play Store is almost 450, with taxes and shipping, and there are options for less than that.
Moreover, I am having trouble ordering from the Play Store as I am not a resident of the USA, and only sending it to a person there. I know that the ebay order will get there, unlike the Play Store order which is still pending and can be dropped at any moment.

Dealing with Samsung for Warranty Repair

Good luck to everyone who has to deal with Samsung for "under warranty repair". They seem to do everything possible for you to give up an pay the repairs. I have the SD card issue (connect/disconnect/reconnect/...). I have been dealing with them for 3 weeks. I ended up having to send my device to a Samsung authorized Service center. They said: Need to replace the motherboard + screen since it is impossible to do the task without changing the screen. Cost 690$ CDN. 450$ for the motherboard and 150 for the screen plus 15% taxes (yes I live in Quebec lolll).
Then, they called me with the estimate. I said contact Samsung since its under warranty and I have tones of emails back/forth, and phone calls with there executive management department. Every time I speak to one person, I have to repeat the all thing to another one. They seem to not keep tract of their records, email exchange, etc.
Now they say I have to pay for the Screen replacement. I am still fighting with them on the fact that the motherboard cannot be replace without replacing the screen... Over and over. And I am a Lawyer. I have spent over 15 hours on the phone with them to date and still my phone is sitting to the repair service. They would not talk to each others. Extremely weird all the story. But I kept tract of everything and I am sending email to everyone I have dealt with all the time. All this to not have my phone for 2 weeks now... and at least another week before it gets back.
They will have no choice then to pay (of COURSE) and I know it... this is my job to do so.
Lol and re-Lol. I have owned 2 S1, 2 S2, 3 S3, 2 S4, 3 S5... and they just dont seem to want to deal promptly with their hardware issue. Really frustrating. I am charging 350$/hour... I have lost a lot of money (time) on this. I will sue them for it in the end. They will be easy for me. They wont even send a Lawyer in Ottawa (where I live) since they have no representative here. And their legal fees will be over 10K to fight. My demands will be around 5K to date.
Right. You demand 5k as if you would have billed your hours. Lol.

Best place to buy in the UK?

Is there a goto place to buy in the UK with a UK warranty?
Had a nightmare with oneplus and wont' buy chinese again until they have some local presence.
The Honor 8 in blue looks great, so hence the question of where to buy.
vmall.eu looks like its not UK based...
Thanks
There's cheaper but i picked mine up from Amazon just for the peace of mind of their returns.

Your best bet is to purchase the Honor 8 UK edition thru vmall.eu (https://www.vmall.eu/uk/honor-8-blue-292297/) which includes a warranty (see specifics here: https://www.vmall.eu/uk/warranty-policy/). If you have any other questions regarding the device and warranty policy, please let us know. (NS)
I got mine from a three store in the uk. No other stores stock these.
Can't go wrong mines blue looks gorgeous
vmall.eu's shipping seems from Expansys?

Notes:
The estimated arrival times are taken directly from information provided by our couriers. These are estimates only, and EXPANSYS are not responsible for any variation.
If selecting a next working day service, goods will need to be signed for. To help, please give a delivery address where someone will be available to sign.
Please note: Next day delivery service is available only when orders are invoiced and/or shipped out.
Unfortunately, if goods are returned to EXPANSYS because of an incorrect or incomplete address, the carriage is not refundable so please double check before submission.

i phoned them and told them I don't need a sim card thanks.. already got one, so got just the phone for 339. If you get told they can't sell them on the phone and online only, then hand up and call back until you get someone who knows what they are doing. took me three attempts. must be why they are called three!
Buying them Honor devices from Three UK you get the same warranty as if bought online via Vmall.UK.So trust assured you good on all accounts and Vmall will deal with you directly once bought.

Between 3 and Expansys, Amazon are by far the best option for me, but they only cover the device for one year and then you’d have to go to honour or others?
Just not clear and although it looks a lovely device, I will steer clear until it becomes clear who i deal with if anything should go wrong.
Thanks for all the input, much appreciated.

I think 1 year is good enough already... usually after 1 year, manufacturer will stop/slow down upgrade, at that time, you have to rely on developers from XDA or places alike.

i have to agree here, most places will only offer a year anyway as after this they normally have slowed down production and are at that point concentrating on another product.
if its that much of a problem about aftercare i would personally find good insurance for your phone after the year is up @OP
i have insurance on all my electronics so i never pay a thing for breakdowns etc.

US Version-> How warranty handled?

I see on Huwaei's site that the Mate 9 is warrantied for 1 year. For some reason I had the impression it was 2.
Anyway, can anyone that has experienced warranty with them inform me as to how warranty is handled, and time turnaround? Send to China? 5 days? 3 weeks?
Thanks

More accurate, then their official services? I doubt it.
I'm trying to apply for warranty in China from Europe, but I'm in the dark here.
If you found a solution or maybe a third party that offers this service, that would be of great help.
